Brian is excellent. He is knowledgeable, kind, and patient. He takes the time to cover any questions or concerns to the best of his ability. You can tell he really wants to work with you to help you find the furniture you want/fits your needs and walk out with the best deal as possible. I know that salesmen can typically come off as intimidating or pushy but he is not that way at all. He seems very genuine and he is someone you’d want to do business with.

I went in looking for a couch for my new apartment, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, sometimes at furniture stores you feel pressured because the associates won’t leave you alone but I did not feel that at all here they let us walk around and than when we were ready the associate that helped was there and he was very friendly and we will definitely be coming back to get some more items.
The man that helped us out was very nice and very helpful, hope that man gets a pay raise!

Saleman (Stanley Watts) was outstanding. Greeted us at the door and asked what we were interested. He pointed us to the appropriate area and then left us alone until WE were ready to discuss options. From then on he relayed the quality, worked with us on the delivery time frame and completed the transactions with complete satisfaction.

Spent THOUSANDS on what was supposed to be an all leather living room set. Its discolored and ripping apart. We purchased the "warranty" and they're unwilling to do anything. Your sales people outright lied to us. We were told every kind of damage was covered. LIE. Seriously considering speaking with our attorney. Update. Called the number you suggested. We were informed that there was nothing you could do except send us free material as a "courtesy" that we would have to pay someone to fix. You lied to us. This furniture is NOT REAL LEATHER. Closing our credit account with you and spreading the word.

Very pleasing to the eye upon entering Ashley Furniture! Friendly, very knowledgeable, very accommodating to what I was looking for!
My wife and I were wanting to browse Reclining sofas and space is at a premium and we wanted to look at Ashley Furniture. Quality and durability was highly desirable. Lauren greeted us at the door. We told her what we were looking for and showed her a couple of photos. She was incredibly low key and left us to browse the store. As we show interest in different pieces she came and sat with us at the different sofas location to chat. When we decided on a unit we thought we might like, she passed us onto Brian and he starting writing the deal up for us promising a good discount. She unfortunately was detained by another customer. Brian was also low key and we talked music for most of the time we were there with him. He got our pertinent information from us and we continued talking. He is heavily in Vinyl records and we had that in common. It was a blast to converse with him. We closed the deal by paying on a credit card. We purchased the Durapella Sofa and a Durapella recliner. They are slate gray and so comfy. With nice electric features like being able to raise the back of the sofa to accommodate different head support positions and a full recline position also. The operations were smooth and quiet. We were easily sold on the product. We are taking delivery this weekend. Both Brian and Lauren(Laurie?- a million apologies if I got it wrong, made it so comfortable to buy there tonight. It is greatly appreciated. Brian discounted the units well for us and we were totally satisfied! 5 Stars!!!

I spoke with a few people at this store. I had been eyeing a Cariana sofa/loveseat set on line. It got very confusing one representative after another in "chat" would give me different "deals," and one would down grade the other by telling me that even though I was on the official Ashley site, the chat went to different companies. I've bought Ashley furniture for years. After about 25 years, it was about time to do some replacing. But this was so confusing. It turned out that there was an actual store not two far away. I told them my story and they shook their heads. And, because I have a disability, they found a way to lower the price for transportation. Very pleased!

I came into the store with specific requirements on what I needed. I informed Brian my salesman that I needed a TV stand for my large 75” TV that was 65 1/2” wide. Brian miraculously produced a tape measure from thin air so that we could start ruling out TV stands that were too small. After looking at almost all the possible TV stands in the store twice. Brian showed me some options online to make sure we covered everything. I eventually selected an 80” cabinet made from mango wood. It looked amazing and its build quickly was great. I’d like to thank Brian for his patience and the team at ASHLEY for an amazing experience.
Having issues with furniture is one the worst experiences. It irritates every nerve in my body. Although dealing with diamond care was a hassle, Jennifer was such a gem! She was easy to talk to, informative and friendly. She didn't push us or haggle us at all. Chris was a major help and extremely trustworthy as well. Thank you both so much! Go see Jennifer!!

I didn’t have the best experience. I was charged two delivery fees for deliveries happening the same day. I was sold two protection plans that I wasn’t even asked if I wanted they just sold it to me with no knowledge. Prices in store are higher than what’s on their website but they did price match. Update - they corrected my invoices and I appreciate the customer service!!

Just moved to NC and need to furnish my townhouse. Went to Ashley because I had furnished my house in NJ from Ashley. The salesman Stanley was very helpful. I had to match couch to a rug and he was so patient. The store manager Mike was also wonderful as was the district manager and well just everybody in the store. The quality of the furniture is excellent and so is the staff. I will be going back to furnish the other rooms. I told them I'd be back and Mike's response was that I was part of the family now.

We went to buy a sectional sofa. Found one that was a great deal and we purchased it. Then after looking at the measurements when we got home found out it was too large. Went to Ashley’s to buy a new sofa and loveseat. Was greeted in the store by salesman named Mannie. He asked if he could help and gave information about the store setup. He allowed us to look for ourselves so there was no pressure, but came by every now and then to answer questions. Once we found what we wanted he (a long with his supervisor Amy) was very helpful in negotiating a deal to fit our needs. Mannie was very professional and knowledgeable, being extremely friendly was a plus! Everyone we talked to made our experience there very pleasant!

I recently visited this store due to me moving into a new apartment. I was looking for room decor and I just wanted to leave a review on how fabulous the customer service was. I was first greeted by this lovely woman, Lauren Sailor’s. From the very moment I stepped inside she helped me with all the questions I had but also want too overwhelming. I was very satisfied with Brian at the Hickory location he was very patient. He let my husband lay on every single bed, not just for a minute or two but really lay on the bed to get the true feel. Brian also helped out with a previous purchase that we had made and gave us information on that. I would have to say that the whole staff there is very intelligent. I’ve dealt with them several times before and I am very happy with a customer service they provide if I can give them more I would, they go above and beyond.

Caveat emptor!!!! Read the contract before you buy. Apparently there are no returns after delivery. Inspect your furniture before signing for delivery. Ours had missing parts and damage that wasn't seen. So we can't use our bed until the missing supports and other items that requires them to order from the supplier and deliver directly to your home then they scheduled someone to come out and install them. (so technically you're their storage facility until they decide to come install them) As far as any damage they send out a repairman to fix the damage if you don't like the repair then they may order replacement parts and the whole process starts over. My suggestion is to inspect for damage, if you have damage or missing parts DON'T sign refuse delivery have them take it back and bring you a new item instead of jumping through their hoops that are designed to get you to give up and just accept the damage they deliver. UPDATE: Got the same unpersonal corporate response that everyone else that had issues got, Text this number. I don't have expectations that they will resolve the issues. It's been 5 days since the damage furniture was delivered and haven't even gotten a courtesy follow-up. I will repeat, CAVEAT EMPTOR,Let the Buyer Beware!!!!!! UPDATE #2: So I text the provided number, and get an automated response wanting my name and order #. While I didn't have the order number available so I text back to have someone call me, no response, I finally got the order number and text that and the other information that asked for, TWO days and still no response guess I'll have to file a complaint with the NC State Attorney Generals Office. Again CAVEAT EMPTOR. UPDATE #3 I believe it's been at least 6 days since I responded to their text number, still no response. So much for them wanting to resolve the issue. Also got a package delivered from Ashley's supplier, imagine this the wrong parts were in the box. So now I still have over $4000 in furniture that I can't use and they can't tell me when I'm going to get the missing parts. Of course they are now going to be closed for the holidays. Merry Christmas customer we really don't care about you. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!!!!! Update #4 Still waiting for a response from the stands reply text number, imagine that guess that's what's expected. After at least 10 phone calls to the customer repair no service number and receiving two boxes of the wrong parts I finally got someone to send two hole components of the bed so that the proper parts got here. Now I'm waiting on the repair person that is scheduled sometime in mid February. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!!! Update#5 it's been over a month and we are still waiting for them to come do the repairs they stated that they were going to do. Apparently they just cancel your repair appointment when they decide to do something different without asking the customer. Then they can't reschedule it for some reason so you have to wait at least another month (March maybe) They have sent parts that were not needed and parts that weren't the correct ones. It appears the customer NO service department and the repair department don't talk or work together to resolve issues. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!!! I probably have 30 to 40 hours tied up in trying to get this issue resolved, STILL WAITING!!!!!

After the website being down for about a week, and a crippled system at the store that prevented them from taking new orders, tried to buy a sofa on behalf of someone on the online store. Order was processed by the system. Two days later got an email saying the order has been canceled due to credit protection. After the hassle of contacting their customer service, they directed to go to the store and place the order there. I did, and the sales representative was very nice, and understanding to our frustration. The item was delivered promptly and on time. Two days later I got phone call from Ashley asking me to call them back to setup delivery for the online order (that has been cancelled). Turned about you are not supposed to create an order where you billing address a delivery address don’t match (it would have been nice to know that during the ordering process). They truly have made a mess of their online ordering system. Ashley’s got really nice furniture. Hopefully they can resolve those issues in their system.

Had a great experience here today shopping for a bed frame. Ours broke while we were in the middle of moving, and Jennifer helped us find a beautiful frame that we were able take with us same-day. Her and Chad were a big help and we absolutely love the piece we bought. Got a great bargain as well. Can't go wrong with these guys!
From the time we walked in the door and were greeted by Adam, our experience could not have been better. He assessed our needs and what we were looking for. Then he guided us to the areas of the store that would be best for using our time most efficiently. Then he left us alone! After a bit, he checked back with us and answered questions we had. I ordered a nice new desk that raises and lowers, Zendex is the brand. The sales lady was awesome and was great to work with. Now the nightmare begins. The desk arrives, the buttons that raise and lower the desk are crooked, and the desk doesn’t work. It says it needs to be reset but the buttons don’t work. The delivery guys who are just subcontractors tried fixing it, but the desk didn’t even have instructions with it. I ended up having to deny delivery, and they hauled the desk away. Now I have to wait an unknown amount of time for a new desk. Nobody can even tell me how long it will be, and now I have no desk for my home office that I work out of. If I’d known this would happen I’d never have purchased this desk in the first place. Stay away from Zendex brand desks, it’s junk. Ashley should reevaluate the brands they sell. Update: So the salesperson told me I would only need to do some minor assembly, like putting drawers in to my filing cabinet and bookcase I ordered. Not true at all, I’ve got to assemble everything myself. Today was delivery day for the bookcase, and it came in a big box. If I wanted to assemble stuff myself I would have just gone to IKEA or something. On top of all that, the desk I ordered there is still no word on when that is arriving. What a cheap, garbage, lying company. I will never order anything from these clowns again. I don’t think I have ever dealt with a worse company, it’s been a disaster from the start. It's great place. The selection and prices were good but with only 2 salespeople in a large space it was difficult.
The shopping experience was actually pretty good but customer service after the sale was terrible. I bought a couch and loveseat from Ashley in Hickory. Long story short, it arrived damaged and I've been waiting 3 weeks for someone to call and schedule a repair. I won't buy from Ashley again. Edit: I texted the number Ashley put in the response to this review. It's been a week and I STILL haven't heard back. This just solidifies my decision in going elsewhere in the future for furniture needs.

If I could give a negative number I would not the first time I’ve been disappointed by this company but thought they needed a second chance. Bought a sectional there and sales lady asked if I needed anything else I said I’m going to Mattress firm across the street she said we some “trying to make a bigger sale” she showed me one that was $2300 I’ve NEVER spent that much but having rheumatoid arthritis I splurged came to pick it up they literally rolled out the floor sample no plastic on it or nothing was never informed I was getting a floor model. Returned that and was brought to another matress that felt similar for 1700 it felt amazing at the store Brought it home gave it 36 hours to settle and it’s hard as a rock called to exchange they told me there’s a no refund policy on this and I’m stuck with it. NEVER AGAIN ASHLEY FURNITURE NEVER!!!!!

Brian was very helpful. He showed us exactly what we were looking for. Not high pressured at all. That’s what I enjoy about a shopping experience. He answered every question I asked and took extra time to make sure I saw all of my options. After considering a sectional or sofa and loveseat I decided matching electric recliners with charging ports would be more of a movie theater look I am going after.

The worst experience I've every had with a furniture store, going all the way to the GM level. Awful customer service and even worse communication. I put in a good size order with James (sales rep). After that, I was looking through Ashley's website and found out that one of the items I ordered was discontinued. This was not told to me by James when I put in the order. Sent him an email asking what was going on with this item and then he finally told me it was not available and probably would not be for some time. To makes matters worse, there was no apology from James for not communicating this to me from the start. After that I called the store and spoke with Chad (sales mgr). He informed me that the reason this item was discontinued was because an overheating problem with one of the components on this piece of furniture (power recliner). This was also never relayed to me by James. Chad said he would have the GM Bonnie call me and we setup a time for the next day. The call time came and went and nothing from Bonnie, so I called her. Finally I got her on the phone and she said very rudely, I'm going to need to call you back in 15 minutes when it was already past the call time we had scheduled. She made me feel like she did not care about the issues I had with James and her store, so I reached out to Ashley's corporate office, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Please take your time and read the other reviews the Hickory location has. It might make you think twice before visiting this store.

We ordered bedroom furniture for our daughter. When it was delivered half of it was damaged. We called and submitted repair requests. Six months later they have uet to come repair the furniture. This is twice we have bought furniture from them and received damaged items.

We went in wanting to buy all furniture for our new home (Spent over 20k).On the other hand the delivery has been a nightmare 😫 lots part missing then when I call customers service they are careless they say one thing then do another... They read notes from my prior calls for missing or damaged parts and still no response. They ordered and mailed parts to my home then I have to call again so someone can come build the LAST bed but still have other parts missing from that same order. So now I have to call again to see when the other missing part will be ordered & arrive. SERIOUSLY IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Great in store experience. Absolutely horrible customer service. Was told my delivery would be between 11-2pm if I couldn't do that I would be charged $79 I agreed then no delivery. Now I'm without any living room furniture. Customer service was not helpful at all said they couldn't offer anything till the product was delivered and that could still 2 or 3 weeks out. Never do business here!

I'm not a huge fan of furniture stores with their pushy salespeople, but I have to say that Brian from Rt 70 Hickory Ashley is above top notch. HE was extremely patient with my husband and I while looking for a new mattress set for our home. We took turns trying out different sets ,and after a few days of looking elsewhere, we came back to Brian. He was so patient while trying out their new finance system,and never neglected to keep us informed as to what was going on with the process. Went to buy a king size mattress. The salesman didn’t know much and didn’t explain the parts. We ordered a mattress, box spring and frame. He totally ordered stuff we didn’t need and had to return them. Then we ended up ordering a headboard/footboard/rails. They sent the headboard by itself and kept moving the ship date of the rails and footboard weeks and weeks out. It’s been two weeks since we got the headboard which has been leaned up against the wall and won’t we get the rest until mid September. Last time we get anything here.

5 years ago we had a bad experience. This time turned that around! Brain assisted us. He was super patient, helpful, and kind. He had great knowledge and took the time to help us find what we really needed. They also had a promotion to raise money for St. Jude and give local children beds who do not have them. It's a huge bonus to make a purchase with that in mind. If you go, ask for Brian!

Went into the Hickory location wanting to get a reclining sofa and recliner, but due to mass inflation, that wasnt possible. Even so, Ben helped us find a sofa and recliner that both my BF and myself liked. He talked us through pricing, delivery, and all the other ins and outs. He never pressured or rushed us into buying anything that we didn't want or that was out of budget. He was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing. They had an amazing selection of products. Definitely recommend coming here for furniture. Prices may be high, but they have a wide variety for everyone!

I ordered furniture in October of 2021 I didn’t receive it until March of 2022 and upon delivery one side of the sectional was broken so they took it back and sent a replacement two weeks later that was the wrong color! So today they were supposed to deliver a replacement piece for the one that was the wrong color but Ashley furniture sent the wrong piece!!! 😡😡😡 I’m so upset! I was really hoping the issue would be resolved today but unfortunately it wasn’t so no I do not recommend anyone shop there!

Would not give their Customer "Care" Department 1 star if there was a way to go star negative. Their sales peeps are outstanding in the stores. Standing behind their products is a different story. I bought a leather, power reclining sofa that is nothing like the showroom piece. Thought it only needed "break in" time since it was new leather. I was wrong and they won't do anything about it so I am. Bad review after bad review.

Called to let them know I needed to furnish a whole house because mine just burnt down and the sales person's response was excitedly exclaiming "Oh that's good! Can't wait to see you here!" Really threw me off because I've just experienced a tragedy. That sales person was extremely insensitive and it just upset me that they were excited to profit commission off my traffic loss. Will take my business elsewhere.

I’d love to give a solid 0 here. We purchased a king bed set, mattress, adjustable base, dining set and sectional set. We specifically ordered items that we were told was in stock and could be delivered within a week. However, once we left the store, the story changed and by the time we figured out that we wouldn’t get most of it in time, we called to cancel everything that couldn’t - ie the entire order except the sectional. Not one person mentioned the cancellation fee when we called to cancel and no one talked about the almost $1000 that we paid in taxes that they wouldn’t refund. When I called today they said they didn’t refund the taxes that we were forced to pay out of pocket, they claim it was taken for the cancellation fee, that again no one mentioned to us. They are both liars and thieves and I will make sure never to shop here or recommend anyone here again.

We were met at the door by Bryan and he stayed with us the whole time. Pointing out the different types of recliners. Once he came to a sale item we knew that was the recliner we wanted. He checked his stock, told us what date it would be delivered and we signed the delivery form. He also told us about the warranty and the delivery. How the delivery people would bring it into our home , set it up and take all the packing material with them. Helpful but not pushy staff
Edit: Almost 10 weeks since my order and the only update I can get it is "We're watching order order closely". Not sure what you know what the word closely means. I should have listened when i was told not to shop at Ashley's. Update: 4.5 MONTHS (was told 1 month, maybe a little more) after my order of basic, stock furniture, its finally in. Maybe. First Im told still waiting on one piece and itll be 10-14 more days. Then different information from someone else telling me it's all in. Which is it? Left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. On top of that, they don't act like they care or listen to anything I say. Just the same cookie cutter retail response over and over. Will absolutely be my last purchase from here and I will make sure no one I know spends a dime in this place.

Shopping with Ashley’s Homestore has been the worse possible experience that I have ever had. They honestly don’t even deserve one star. They have the poorest customer service that I have ever witnessed. I will never shop at Ashley’s or an Ashley’s wholesaler again. There isn’t any type of care given about the experience of the customer. I have been trying to return a couch for the past month because the delivery team was too lazy to try multiple attempts to get the sofa in my house. I called last week to reschedule the pick up and now I’m being told that there are no notes in the system stating that I did so. No one can ever give you a direct answer. I currently have a headboard with my rails due to no one knowing an estimated time for my delivery. There’s no communication between the customer service team and the warehouse which makes no sense. I know it doesn’t matter because I am one of a million customers but they have lost me as a customer forever and I will never recommend anyone to Ashely’s to furnish their home.
The furniture is overpriced and very cheaply made! Bought a sofa and loveseat…. Garbage! Sofa tore the first week of use, the cushions and backing are made of the stuffing you would expect in a cheap pillow from walmart, there very flat now after 2 years. The dining room table is made of very soft wood, dents easy, be careful not to place any thing on it that will condensate or there will be a permanent mark. Trust me once you purchace, you bought it! Buy it for looks dont expect it to last but a few years… 3 or 4 maybe!
We have been to the hickory location several times. Shopping today 11/13/21 my husband even tried to flag down one of the salesman. Not one person said they would be with us shortly or even acknowledge that we was there. The guy that he flagged down actually went to sit on a couch on the sales floor. It definitely cost them a sale. Again that’s not the only time it’s happened there.Not good with their service. But this will be my last time coming to this store 😡.

I'm honestly blown away but the lack of customer care. I bought a living room set and the couch arrived damaged. I've been trying to get it fixed since it was delivered almost a month ago! The frustration of this is beyond anything. I've spoken to so many different people, sent in the emails that were requested, sent in the photos, went to the store and spoke with people and nothing! Buyer beware. So disappointed and now I am having to pay on messed up furniture. This is NOT how you should handle your business.

It is now past 8 weeks, still no word on when the delivery will happen. Frustration level is going through the roof. I guess China rules all.

I went to the Hickory NC store a sales rep James greeted me and assisted me right away he was very knowledgeable of the item I came in looking for and on others thru out the stores well I told him i was on my lunch time so he was able to do the whole process of placing my order and process finance for efficiently and promptly I was in and out in 45 mins I got back to work just in time I loved how attentive and professional he was the whole time he was managing my sale 💯 🌟 for James thank you I been a Ashley customer for past 3 yes and I will continue usi g your products for long time I get quality value and style along with great customer service from your sales personnel I thank you again and I thank Ashley to push his staff to give best customer service experience all the time

DO NOT pay for delivery and assembly! I purchased a dining table and chair set and payed for delivery and assembly. They shipped the chairs separate, so they said they would not assemble. I didn't buy them separate, but I guess they can do what they want to cheat the customer. Then I had to clean up after they left, because they left Styrofoam pieces everywhere. I have called and called, but customer service is a joke and repeats the same line over and over.

I’ll never buy another thing from here! Get it together people. When you spend a lot of money you want your furniture.. and not months later!! FYI if it was due to Covid then why was you having this problem before Covid??

Got talked into the hassle free warranty because we have a dog. Couch showed up after three months and after a week it had a tear in the seem. Called in it and they had to order something to be sent to my house first, was gunna take 7-10 days. Showed up after 11 days. Called to let them know but they outsource the repairs and that the company would call me in 7-14 days just to make an appointment. Won’t be going back ::Update:: guy came out to fix it but the parts they sent were wrong. So now the new parts will be here in 7-10 days and then 7-14 days to schedule again, to fix a tear that happened a month into owning the couch

Prices are a little ridiculous. $450 for a coffee table that they assembled slightly askew on site, with the screws all crooked and stripped. The couch was pricey, but the worst parts: Inconsistent pricing, in store, online, and written promotions all different, RESEARCH. ALSO: THE WORST... how long it takes for them to ring you out when you know exactly what you want... I'm happy I don't need anymore furniture because I will not be going through that again. And then, there's at least a 2 week wait, but was told it could be 6 months before we got our furniture. The quality is very hit or miss. We got the best quality pieces we could. Go put your hands on the furniture

Never again will I purchase from Ashley's. Currently still waiting on half of my couch. Order was placed in NOVEMBER. The same couch is sitting in the store on display but they cannot give me it, nor can they give me a discount, nor can they hold off on my bill like I was told that I wouldn't pay for anything until I received ALL of my product. My husband and I went in last night and walked around the whole store without being offered any assistance. We picked out several pieces of furniture that we were ready to buy. We went and stood up front where the sales people usually are but they were all sitting around a table talking and never acknowledged us. We got tired of being ignored so we left and took our business elsewhere.
Was told sofa & chair be delivered in 6 weeks took 3 mo only got sofa sent wring chair. Sofa had tear told them at delivery said would bring replacement now been 4 mo still no sofa. Finally brought chair 2 weeks ago. How you supposed to have half a set?
DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM HERE! Purchased dining room table, chairs and cocktail table September 5th, 2020. Going on 24 weeks, almost 6 months and no furniture, I called multiple times can never get help or an answer when it will be here. Would have never purchased if I knew this would be the outcome. Pay a little extra and get your furniture somewhere else. Will never be back.
The people at the store are wonderful. The people at distribution are awful. We ordered a mattress, two recliners, and an end table, the end of December. Was supposed to get our stuff the third week in January. They have pushed out our delivery twice. Mattress until middle of February. Recliners first of March. And now no date on end table. If you can't ship something don't sale it. Buyer beware. Ashley distribution centers/shipping sucks.

Friendly staff although we were given a date that our furniture would be ready and were are now several weeks past that with no delivery date or completion date available. They give you a window that it is expected to be completed and when you complain they claim it can take up to 12 weeks. We are at week 7 with no update from Ashley Furniture.
Update: I did get my bed corrected still waiting on my mirror to be fixed correctly but my bed problem was fixed. This has been my worst experience of shopping for furniture. I haven’t got much help other than going into the store to buy my furniture; after that, it’s as if your business doesn’t matter. They delivered us the wrong size slats for our bed , and we called them two times to get the right size slats; they’re still wrong 😑. My mirror doesn’t have the right size boards to make it attach to my dresser. I had to call them because we noticed after the delivery men left that our AirPods that were in the room where they were putting our furniture had disappeared. We were told there was nothing they could do about it I’m sorry but I don’t pay somebody for a service just to be stolen from worse experience with them. paying off our furniture as quickly as possible so we can just be done with them.
Update regarding the Ashley’s Furniture in Hickory fiasco - 01-10-21 - we FINALLY have our refund! The best news, we never have to deal with this company ever again. The refund was started on 12-28-20 and didn’t hit our account until 1-10-21 this is absurd when it takes 20 seconds to take our money! Update 1-7-21 - no refund! Update 1-6-21 - no refund!! Update 01-05-21- still no response or refund!!!! Update 01-04-21 - still no response or refund, as promised! Update 1-3-21 - received a response to the google review wanting me to send a message to the reviews department. I did that when I originally posted this review and they also didn’t respond. I sent the corporate office an email with no response either. The only people I can even get to respond is the BBB! And still no refund. Update - 01-01-21 no refund as promised! Will give it another few days and will file another BBB complaint. Update 12-28-29- still no return call, so I drove out here ( 45 minutes away) and can you believe the manager acknowledged that he didn’t call me back nor did he return my emails?! Good news- our money will be refunded in 3-5 days and I will NEVER do business with these folks ever again! Update 12-27-2020: I was promised a call back by Jeff 12-26-20 & I still have not rec’d a call from him. Today is 12-26-2020 & If I could give this place a negative star I would. Where do I even begin with this nightmare of a transaction?! My mom and stepfather ordered a dining room table for my husband and I for a house warming gift in 08-31-20. We were told we would have our table by November 15th. November came and went and no table. Several calls to customer service & they basically just said sorry! Called the store and no one would return our calls and our emails were ignored. Finally, we get a call at end of November stating we would have it in December. It arrived, awesome right?! The middle leaf was BUSTED. We didn’t make a fuss about it. Now let’s back up, November 6th, my husband and I went into the store to purchase a bedroom suite, living room suite and a desk. After all the trouble we had already had with the dining table, we thought maybe it was a one time thing and we would try again! Worst idea of 2020. Our bedroom suite was promised to us by December 22nd. We got a delivery in mid December for a cot, I’m not not even kidding. No mattress for the cot, just a cot and a sorry for the inconvenience of not having your bedroom suite. Today, December 26th, 2020, I walk into the Hickory location and speak with manager Joe. First he seemed annoyed but after he saw that I’m the one that should be annoyed not him. He changed his tune some... some! He tells me he would “ fire off an email and I will call you back about your bedroom suite.” Not a call back about my bedroom suite & anything for my office. Mad is an understatement. They had a much better attitude they day we swiped our card for all of this. We had our picture taken because it was the million dollar sales mark for the year for Charles the sales manager! I asked the manager Charles about all of the horrible reviews before we bought anything. His response to us: we sale the most furniture a year than anyone else around and there’s a reason for it. I ordered an upholstered bed in June and every two weeks Ashley's would tell me it was being delivered and its December now. I finally called to cancel my order and Ashley's still charged me for a protection plan and delivery. So they only refunded me for the bed. How am I getting charged for a protection plan and delivery for something I NEVER got?
The salesperson at the store was very helpful however the delivery was a nightmare. We ordered on Monday November 30 and was told they would deliver on Wednesday December 9th. I told them I would need a evening delivery due to my work schedule. I get a email on Monday the 7th telling my delivery was scheduled between 11:30 and 2:30 pm on Wednesday. I called customer service and explained I had to have a evening or weekend delivery. We rescheduled to Saturday the 12th. They call Saturday afternoon to tell they would not be able to come then either and rescheduled to Monday from 11:30 to 2:30. I explained I could not do that time due to work. We worked it out for them to deliver to the store instead and I would pick it up that evening. Well today(Monday) morning I get a call that the delivery drivers are 30 mins away from my house and not delivering to the store!! I ended up having to leave work and rush home to accept delivery. Not a happy customer!!

Would truly like to give this experience 0 stars.This is a lengthy-but thorough-recount of our RECENT experience(AF Hickory, NC).Sept 19,2020 my wife and I went to look for new living room furniture,spoke to salesman Charles Turner upon entering-seemed VERY knowledgeable and not pushy.Found exactly what we wanted,purchased,andwere given a delivery date of Oct. 31,and we were fine with waiting 42 days-(paperwork only says “ASAP”-didn't think anything of that at the time).From Sept 19-Oct 31,around 12pm.we hadn't heard anything from anyone(prepped our home in advance-took out our old couch&had to remove railing from our front porch to get old out and new in)so we decided to call them ourselves to see where our delivery was.1st person said that our ONLY delivery date was Dec.15-confused, she transferred us to the store to speak to Charles,who took our #,said he would call back in a few minutes. We waited 2 1/5 hours for a call-with no living room furniture to even sit on, with a 1 year old-had to call THEM back.2nd person, constantly apologizing that we were receiving “misinformation”, said the “best option” for us would be to wait until we received the sectional on Dec.15, then file complaint and we would be offered “fair”compensation.Fast forward to Nov. 2, I receive a voicemail from "Mike" at AF saying that he's got some "pretty good news" and they would have the sectional in the warehouse on Nov. 17&that we needed to call them ASAP to get it scheduled.*having no furniture,sigh of relief*We called the next business day,only to speak again to someone in customer service telling us that we had AGAIN received misinformation,that there isn't anything that they can even schedule until the furniture is actually IN the warehouse.Fast forward to Nov.17-when the sectional is supposed to be in the warehouse-we call not long after opening,spoke to another that is now informing us that the sectional is not there.There isn't anything she can do or schedule,instructs us to call back closer to closing to"see if they've received the sectional".We call back about an hour before closing on Nov. 17,to be told that the sectional had not arrived,and that WE didn't need to call them...they would call us(also apologizing for the "misinformation").Talking later that evening(something we should have done in the beginning,we decided to look up reviews and see if anyone else was having any issues with AF-going back almost ONE year,every.single.review.was HORRIBLE.)People were being stolen from,a TEACHER having to take off several days after being evaded by delivery information,their homes were being destroyed AND the furniture they had JUST purchased was being destroyed by the delivery crew-ALL with NO apology,or compensation.Scared,we began to look into cancellation details-we just don't have the money to repair MORE of our home or be stolen from,etc.Fast forward to Nov.21st,we received a TEXT message that NOW the sectional would be delivered on Nov.24(we will be on vacation).My wife and I were so stressed out,we decided to cancel the transaction.We called and spoke to a woman,she transferred us to the store, spoke to a very rude man, he cancelled our account.We then received a call approx.5 min.later from CHARLES-who seems to only call back when you CANCEL-saying that our delivery would be here Tue,we informed him that we just wanted to cancel we no longer wanted to do business with AF,and were hung up on. We have no furniture,and still feel like we made the right decision.
Unless you like stores that make you wait over 4 months for your product, deceive you with false expectations and don't communicate with you. I was not notified when my delivery date changed, when my delivery date was scheduled, or when my order was on the way! Buy your furniture literally anywhere else. Buyer beware!! Update! We finally got a date for our order to be delivered, They showed up almost 2 hours outside of the delivery window and delivered our merchandise BROKEN, the delivery team refused to take the broke merchandise and put it back on the truck and left without explanation while we were on the phone with customer service. We were left with broken, unusable merchandise for over a week while we waiting for a new part to be ordered and delivered. Once the new merchandise arrived we had to call and schedule another delivery team to come out and assemble the furniture. When the new team arrived almost 2 weeks later, they BUSTED the new furniture by using the wrong screws. They told us they busted it and left without explanation. They left the merchandise in our home busted and halfway assembled . We now have to wait another 2 weeks for them to send out new pieces and schedule another day for the assembly team to come back out and fix the busted furniture. At this point we have had to take take 3 days off of work to have spent countless hours on the phone with customer service!! This has been the absolute worst experience with a company that I have ever had!!!!
Most unprofessional business. I can’t get in contact with anyone at this store. When you’re paying this much for furniture they should let you know when the delivery date changes multiple times. When the furniture didn’t show up I drove all the way to the store to get some answers and we were given a new date and I specifically asked if this was a set date and she said yes and now our furniture is not coming and apparently still pending. Not to mention we payed half in full so we could get these pieces on time and they can’t even give us a date. A waste of money. Her solution was to wait 10-12 weeks and if it doesn’t come to cancel the order.
Bought 2 couches in July 2019, by October 2020 my couch was broken in half. Bought the protection plan, which was very pushed by salesman, oh guess what they want to “fix” my couch instead of replacing a completely broken couch. I will never do business with Ashley furniture again! Very cheap made furniture, for very expensive price! Turned my couch over and it’s pretty much made of chip board! Wouldn’t recommend at all!
First and foremost... this has been one of the WORST experiences I have ever had with Ashley Furniture. The very first thing I bought from them had been a bedroom suite. That experience was flawless. They were very informative, and kept me in the loop with everything from ordering up to the delivery. I was so Impressed that I decided to purchase a sectional from them as well. Feeling like a valued customer I went on Labor Day picked out the sectional and ordered it. Here is where the company really took a turn. I was informed by my sales rep that he would contact me and let me know when the delivery would be. I waited a week, and NOTHING. I called the company tracked down the order and finally received a delivery date. NO THANKS TO ASHLEY FURNITURE. My delivery date was given to me for Oct. 22. I received a phone call on the 20th of October confirming the time and deliver window of 11:30-2:30. Being a teacher this required me to find a substitute to fill in for my class. I received a phone call at 9:45 AM on the morning of the delivery explaining that the truck had broken down and that I would be updated with a time. At 3:30 PM I finally received a phone call saying that my delivery would be pushed to the next day at the same time frame. I put in for another substitute for work and waited Friday. 11:30 came and NOTHING 1:30 came STILL NOTHING... 3:30 NOTHING. I made countless phone calls and sat on hold Waiting for someone to give me answers. A lady FINALLY told me that I could track the driver online. NOT TRUE. My information kept saying not going please contact service... called the number waited another 30 minutes to talk to someone. IT IS 5:00 ON A FRIDAY AND STILL NO CALL OR COUCH DELIVERY. Two days worth of work that I missed but don’t worry ASHLEY FURNITURE will get their money, but they will require you to sacrifice more of yours. NEVER SHOPPING HERE EVER AGAIN. Sending everyone I know somewhere else. Good luck with this service.

It took several weeks to recieve our furniture which was okay. Then delivery day comes....TOTAL NIGHTMARE! The delivery guys had no regard for our purchase or our home. I called Ashley customer service while they were in our home on the 1st piece they brought in the house. I was assured Ashely would take care of my issues. The delivery guys left deep scratches in my hardwoods, knocked paint off of walls and door facings, and scratched and ripped the furniture. I called customer care again before they left and made them aware of the issues. This was 2/14/2020 and now we are into October and still no resolution. I have called numerous times and asked to have a supervisor contact me....NO LUCK! There were some repairs on the furniture Easter weekend and the repair guy needed more materials in which he said he would get ordered and shipped to us. After numerous calls I have 1 of the pieces and waiting on the rest. Yes I know there is a pandemic and a lot going on in the world, but the lack of communication and customer service is unacceptable! The contracted delivery people of course takes no accountability for their team and we are left with damages to our home and the furniture. I would definitely never make another purchase from Ashely Homestore; nor would I recommend them to even my worst enemy! Steer clear of making purchases as they could care less about their customers and then you are left paying for furniture that you could get elsewhere cheaper and spare yourself a lot of headache!

Go and see Dawn... she was fantastic!!! but can't say the same for management. We actually ended up having a nightmare of a time canceling due to the furniture not arriving at a promised time after asking multiple times if the furniture was available! Got a lame excuse after excuse and then attempted to charge a cancelation fee ... like I advised them this isn't the last piece of furniture I will purchase but be sure to read the terms and conditions of their contact. My contract for my house was easier than this! Horrible experience at the end and we missed out on other furniture because of this supposedly great deal and even was advised our great furniture would be here before guest came into town. So we ended up get furniture thankfully last minute at a local joint which was in stock!
They have canceled my delivery date 4 times. I was told it would be here Thursday so I gave away my shift at work and lost out on money. They canceled again at the last second .
I bought a living room suite. Junk every pec has feel apart. I have asked to exchange or money back. Only option i have is having them come and put it back together. It last a bit then it falls apart again. Its not a year old yet

A man by the name of Charles was very communicated when he was selling the furniture but now will not communicate with us as half the furniture hasn't been delivered and that everything must be out but part of the set hasn't been delivered.

Very helpful staff. Big selection at reasonable prices. After the purchase the problems start. Delivery showed up with no tools to assemble as agreed. Offered my tools (allen wrenches), but they insist on using drill bit for allen bolts, which they didn't have. Left boxes unopened in our dining room. Upon opening we found damage. Called customer care and were told numerous times that once we accept delivery they are not responsible for damage and furniture cannot be returned. Explained circumstances and that inspection is not possible while still boxed up. They reiterated that they will not take the furniture back. Guess better business bureau is our only recourse BEWARE DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE

I purchased a sofa and had the delivery date set for May 12th. I called to reschedule for May 14th instead so I could be home. After calling and CONFIRMING TWICE that my sofa would be delivered I found out on the 13th that my delivery was cancelled! The lady I talked to said she could not call the warehouse but could only email and now I have to call them back in 2 hours to see if they can bring my sofa! It's completely paid for and I don't know when I'll get it! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!! These people are idiots and their communication with each other is a joke.
A month after my purchase and im still sleeping on the floor with my new bed stacked in the corner because of no hardware.
We ordered a three piece set at the beginning of March and was advised it would be delivered "three weeks later." Three weeks later only two of the three showed up and was told it was going to "April 23" for the final piece to be delivered and on April 22nd was advised the piece was not delivered to the warehouse and would not be available for delivery until May 14th.. Never again.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE**** I'm giving 2 stars because it is a lovely set. The salesmen were nice and that's it. We have have waited 10 days for screws for our bed and still don't have any. Delivery guys made a mess in our yard. First and last EXPERIENCE with them.
Brian was AWESOME! He stayed past closing to help me and my husband purchase furniture to put in our new home. He wasnt pushy at all and answered all of the many questions we had to ask. Got a PHENOMENAL deal. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Would not recommend to anyone! Went to the store on March 1st, ordered our things and was told that it could be delivered on March 10th or we could pick it up on March 13th. We chose delivery and paid the $99 fee and was told they would call 2 days before and the day of delivery and that our things would be delivered between 12:30 and 3:30. March 10th rolls around and they call around 11:40 am and I missed the call, so not even 5 minutes later I call back and I’m directed to the distribution center and I explained that I missed the call and asked if it was for my delivery and was told yes, it’ll be delivered between 12:30 & 3:30. Well, 3:30 comes and nothing, so we call and they say they cancelled our shipment because no one answered the phone and to call back the next day because our account is now locked and they can’t do anything. Call back the next day and they tell us that it can be delivered on March 19th or we can pick it up, so we asked that our delivery fee be refunded and we’ll just pick it up.. was told that would take 5-7 business days, but anyways went and picked up our stuff today, got back home and got it unloaded only to realize that they didn’t put any hardware with our stuff. Called them about the missing hardware and was once again told that our account was locked to call back the next day and even then it would take 5-7 business days to get the hardware! Will not be buying from Ashley’s again!
Bought a bedroom suite on January 11 paid in full. Originally supposed to be delivered on February 5 but truck was full and one nightstand was on backorder and we were ok with that . We worked it out so that our set would be delivered on February 24 and get the nightstand that was on backorder would be picked up at a later date. Then on the 24th no bedroom set and no call about them not delivering after I had moved my schedule around for delivery. When I called them about where my $9,000 set was all I kept getting told was sorry and we are working on it no idea when it will be delivered. They left for the day with no answers. Can't blame the salesman all he did is sell us the set. The distribution center took it off the truck and pushed my delivery back to who knows when. I will never buy from this place again and don't reccomend it to anyone else. Very unhappy with the service from the the distribution center.

Update: Since I cancelled my order a total of 5 large packages have been delivered to my house from Ashley Furniture. I have called to return these packages and have been told twice to just throw then away. Unbelievably wasteful, another reason this company is the worst.
We purchased a dining room set and living room furniture in November of 2019. The purchasing experience went great. The dining room set arrived in a couple weeks and the delivery experience was perfect. The living room set arrived a month later and the workers had trouble getting the sofa in the house. I told the delivery men that they will have to take the legs off the couch to get it to fit into our home. My wife and I removed our old couch the night before and removed the legs and got it out of the home with no issues. They refused to take off the legs to the couch. Then while trying to get it into our home they dented our exterior door, tore up the frame of our storm door as well as removed paint off the storm door. They didn’t get the couch to fit. I asked them to stop and they said taking the door off would get it in then took the door off and tried again and ran the legs of the couch up and down the wall ripping through the drywall. They then took off the legs and the couch fit with no problems. Once the couch was in the couch was severely damaged. In retrospect I should have made them stop and leave. They are going to replace the couch but denied coverage to fix any damage to the home. They stated we signed a release of damage from them and we assumed we did. Come to find out it was not our name on the damage release waiver (knew we wouldn’t sign that after what they did to the home) and they still denied it stating we said we signed it. We learned that their return policy and damage policy is setup so that if you wait until they leave your property their is nothing you can do to seek damage other than taking them to court. Please note that we expect the minor dents and dings related to moving furniture and expected scuff marks on our wall. We did not expect multiple dents and dings and the multiple gouges to our wall and believe it went so far as to be negligence on their delivery providers. Most likely everything will go good with your purchase but know that if it doesn’t they will not help you at all. If this happens to you make them take back the furniture immediately and definitely don’t sign anything especially before the items are in your home and inspected.
I love this place! Everything is so well made and beautiful. The sales manager helped us pick out a beautiful sofa and got us the best deal possible! So happy with the service, would happily recommend.
Delivery sucks .
We ordered the Besteneer dining room table and were told it had a delivery fee of around 100.00. While being delivered the men completely destroyed our driveway that we had just had sown grass seed and lined with gravel evenly down the sides of the asphalt. We called to complain and all they could do was say sorry. I do not recommend delivery from this business.
Bought two recliners and we were told they couldn’t deliver to Boone so we had to go to Charlotte to pick them up. When we got home the zipper that holds the stuffing in was broken. After multiple calls and emails to the main customer support they said the hickory store would be contacting us. Never have heard back from them and can’t get ahold of anybody that is willing to help us!
Can I give them half a star? I came in around Thanksgiving and spoke with Charles Turner. Other than the fact he sat on the arm of the recliner which drove me crazy he was a good enough salesman, so I thought. We found the furniture we wanted and I told him what I was willing to pay. He started the process and ultimately got us around where I wanted to be. I asked for at least an estimate of a monthly payment. He told me it would be $75 per month. Fast forward a month when I got the bill. My monthly payment is $187 per moth. After I kick-started my heart I spoke to the finance company and found that the terms of my agreement is and has been common practice within their company. I immediately called and tried to reach Charles and was given the run around. I was not able to reach him and was ultimately told I would get a call from him. After a couple days I finally reached him after I called back in. He said he would find out whats going on and reach back out. I waited a couple days and had to call back in (surprise). At this point I've asked for a manager and have yet to receive a call. I finally called and spoke to someone in "customer care". She attempted to reach him and when she came back she informed me that she talked to him and that he in fact left me a voicemail saying there's nothing he can do. I DID NOT receive a voicemail. I asked that I at least get a call from a manager offering an apology. To date I've gotten nothing. Firstly, I will no longer shop at Ashley and I will make it a point to share my opinion with anyone that will listen including the BBB. Secondly, if you feel like you need to shop here stay away from Charles because he is either an idiot for not knowing the policies of the finance companies they work with or a liar for getting the sale regardless of what lies he has to tell. While I know he will never see this nor be man enough to respond He should be ashamed.
We had a good experience when picking out and ordering our furniture. Dawn at the Hickory store was really good to work with. That is where the good experience ended. We elected to pick up the furniture from the Distribution Center in Rock Hill, SC, since it is very close to the address it was going to. I verified with 2 different people that that date we were planning to pick up was good and that the furniture was available for pickup. Two family members drove one hour with a trailer on Sunday, January 5th, only to be told that they were in the midst of inventory and they could not pick up. An Ashley staff member automatically moved the furniture into delivery status (stating the delivery fee would be waived). After many phone calls and reemphasizing the 8 mile proximity to the delivery location, I was told that the first available date would be January 28th - more than 3 weeks later. I also explained that the existing furniture had been moved out pending the arrival of new furniture. It did not matter. They seemed more concerned about who told us the delivery fee would be waived than anything else. Despite follow-up calls and a pending negative review, Ashley would not budge. They are totally inflexible and do not take responsibility for their neglect. Terrible customer service once the purchase is made.
Don’t waste your time with Ashley furniture unless you are willing to wait months for your furniture to arrive. Excuses after excuses. I should have read the poor reviews before wasting my time with this poor excuse of a furniture company. Too bad there isn’t a -10 star option!

To start with, the man helping us seen someone looking at something a little more expensive than what we were getting so he just left us and started helping them. Now our furniture delivery has went from Dec 9 to Dec 23 to first of Jan then they had the nerve to tell me to be patient it was just submitted on Jan 1. Looks like I'm gonna have to get a lawyer to get it delivered. Also paid $300 delivery fee. For what.....
The sales person and the store was wonderful. The delivery has been nothing but a hassle. One of my items was broken when it was delivered, now they’re delaying my delivery for the third time because there’s more items broken. Buyer beware!!!!!

Nice furniture but when delivery came there were several scratches on several different pieces.
If you go to a store, get the BEST DEAL POSSIBLE by looking at THEIR ONLINE PRICES! They are usually MUCH CHEAPER. I got a great deal this way. ;) Prices in-store are marked up so that when they have their 25% off sales (usually monthly), they can discount their furniture greatly. You can also go at the end of the month when they are trying to meet budget and haggle... I was charged a lot more when placing the order, but I called back within 3 days and got them to mark my price down to their online site. Hope this helps!

Never will buy from Ashley Furniture again! We purchased a 7 piece bedroom set from the Hickory Location two years ago for over $3,000 and the bed has fallen apart ever since, along with the leg off of our chest of drawers, and the door off our wardrobe is flimsy and off track. Obviously cheaply made and a huge rip off! Highly do NOT recommend.

It was a great experience!! We thought we knew what we wanted for a mattress so Chris and Adam showed us what we wanted. The more questions they asked about our back problems the more it became clear we needed a different mattress. They were very knowledgeable and helpful, we can't wait for it to be delivered. We also ended up buying a sectional sofa. They didn't rush us or high pressure sell us, we took our time and chose some great furniture for the media room.
Miserable experience. We bought a living room set. We are working on loveseat number 4 because they can't deliver without causing damage. Try getting someone on the phone to replace. You'll wait an hour at least to talk to someone. Never buying from Ashley again. Update 9/5/19 - Its now over a month later and we still do not have the sofa we paid for. We've had to work with "Saw Enterprises" to get the sofa repaired but the repairs do not leave the sofa looking factory. Saw is TERRIBLE to work with. Expect to be on hold for hours. And, by default, this must mean that Ashley couldn't care less about you as the customer. Again, NEVER buying from Ashley again. We recently convinced both sets of parents to buy from Wayfair instead. Wayfair isn't perfect, but they do a lot better job than Ashley.

Went into Ashley's to look around and was greeted by an older man nicely and told him I didn't need any help at all but as soon as I went into their mattress department, I was followed by another worker 30 seconds after. The old man who greeted me came to me (mind you this other worker left as soon as the old man came to me) and told me, that the mattresses I was looking at were 4,000 dollars and that he could find one that "looked" like it was on my budget (which I never said a budget) pointing to another side of the department. First of all, judging by appearance was a shitty thing for them to do and second of all they need to do a better job at training their staff cause they literally had followed me around when I stated that I didn't need any help, making it seem like I was planning to steal whatever was in their store. It was rude of them to assume that I couldn't afford anything in their store. If anything you should make sure your customer gets the best of the best things and don't assume that just because they look a certain way, don't mean they can't afford "4,000 dollar mattresses." Definitely don't plan to come back to this place, it's trash!

My husband and I purchased a king size mattress w/ adjustable head and foot base in the store back in January 2018. A year later, this mattress has sunk in the middle and it started to cause back problems to where now, it’s unbearable. My husband and I are not overweight people. Between his weight and mine, is probably just a little over 200lbs. We called the store to complain and they sent us an inspector just to find out that based on their inspections and measurements, it did not meet the measurements for the warranty to cover it. I called the customer service and all they had to say was that they could send another inspector but has to wait 90 days after the initial inspection. And since it has been over 90 days purchased, all sales are final. The inspections are useless and ridiculous! That doesn’t change the fact that the mattress we have purchased from them over a year ago is very expensive and it has already caused us back problems! I wake up every morning with my back hurting! I wouldn’t even bother taking the time to complain if it wasn’t for the fact that we have invested in this mattress just for it to give out a year later! Good quality mattress supposed to last over 5 years before you start having problems! But not the SF Almandine Plept King mattress we purchased!!! My intention was not to get a refund, but to get the warranty to give us a replacement so we wouldn’t have any more back problems and we can be satisfied with them again! Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here! Lesson learned It was a total waste of my time, waste of my money, and waste of my effort. I will never again purchase anything from place!!!!

Took us 5 months to only get part of the bed frame we ordered delivered. The delivery people stole a Bluetooth speaker. And now we are told they won’t do anything and we will have to pay a 10% restocking fee to bring those few parts of the bed back. Never again will we use Ashley Furniture, been treated horribly during this whole experience.
Working with Mr. Joe was fantastic. He helped us pair the perfect chairs with our round kitchen table. They're very flexible on pick up times (important for new construction). I couldn't have asked for better service, and conversation.

My wife and I literally just left the Hickory store because the "Manager" walked off from us as I was reading him some recent negative reviews after my wife asked him about any delivery problems we may encounter. A very astute and upright gentlemen asked for us to allow him an opportunity to assist us, and prove the negative reviews was erroneous. outstanding!, we will be talking to this gentleman Monday, thank you sir
They are the worst for on time delivery. They will call you to push your delivery off when you had to schedule yours with them. Then you wait all day for them to show up and they don’t. When they call you back they are in no hurry to try to fix their mistake.

My husband and I have shopped at the Ashley store in Hickory twice now and are very happy with the items that we purchased as well as the personnel that we worked with. We were assisted with our selections without feeling pressured to buy. Delivery and setup of the items was on time and we were kept informed as to when to expect them.

Overpriced
Ashley furniture has the absolute worst customer service!!! Delayed delivery 3 times and once our bed was delivered, all the parts were not there so we sent it back. After calling 4 times and speaking to “managers” we were told there was nothing they could do and our delivery date would be pushed back another 2 weeks. We then asked to just cancel it but they wanted to charge us 20% of the cost of the bed for restocking fee. I wish we would have listened to friends when they told us not to go with Ashley furniture!!!
Very dissatisfied customer: My parents purchased a leather set (Sofa, Loveseat, and Chair) from Ashley Furniture along with the extended warranty. The sofa has had to be replaced and now the leather on loveseat is peeling. This has been an ongoing issue since November 2018 which is unacceptable amount of time. Now, Ashley only corresponds with customers via 'wecare@shopashely.com'. Due to lack of response via email, we have asked to be called so we can resolve the matter. We have been ignored repeatedly. Ashley Furniture of Hickory NC does not care about quality of their product and clearly does not take pride in Customer Service. If you are planning on purchasing from Ashley please reconsider and go somewhere else. If you have a complaint or their product fails in quality (even with extended warranty) Ashley Furniture does not honor the warranty or care about the customer. p.s. Ashley Furniture will not allow posting pictures of damaged furniture. Apparently, they are aware of the poor quality they are selling to consumers

Hopefully I will eventually get my furniture. So far terrible customer service experience. now has been rescheduled again to April 18th.

Hello, wanted to give a review on our recent visit to Ashley Homestore in Hickory, North Carolina. Our sales agent was Shaun Cooke. The experience was quiet pleasant. We were assisted as soon as entering the door as well as being accompanied to the section we were interested in looking. We found living room furniture that interest us and inquired information about a sofa and loveseat. The particular furniture we acquired about did come with discounts as well as special financing options. Mr. Cooke answered all our questions, was polite as well as cordial in our visit to Ashley Homestore. We did purchase the living room set. Will recommend to friends and family.

I bought a recliner from Ashley Furniture Hickory location not long ago, and already Ashley Furniture has sent some repair company to fix the same issue once a week ago. Now within a week of the repair, it has done the same thing, but this time the fabric tore on the back of the recliner were the back was coming off. Horrible Horrible Horrible

This has been THE ABSOLUTE WORST experience EVER!!!! We purchased a bedroom set for my daughters’s room in September 2018. The set was delivered October 17, 2018 but the drawer pulls on the dresser and desk were misaligned, not centered. They sent replacement drawers twice that were still misaligned, they attempted to replace the pieces but the dresser was broken at the warehouse and the door for the dresser was STILL misaligned! Here it is over four months later and we still misaligned drawers and I noticed today that one of the bed posts is cracking! The furniture is very cheap and while the customer service representatives have all been very nice NONE of them have helped or done what they have said they were going to do to help resolve this issue! DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY!

Ughhh I am giving them a low star rating for one because the furniture is so overpriced. Second, me and my husband decided to go in and have a look at the furniture because we are looking to purchase for our bedroom, the kids bedroom, kitchen, and living room. As soon as we parked we could tell by the parking lot that the store was empty with maybe two or three other customers inside. A good sign for us because it was Saturday and usually stores are packed and overcrowded, so we wouldn’t feel rushed and would actually have a good chance at looking at the furniture. WRONG! Walking towards the door you could just see the sales associates standing there like vultures ready to attack. Walking through the doors, one lady made it to us before the other sales associates. Our sales associate followed us around the store almost the entire time. I just wanted to tell her to back off! She had already told us if we needed assistance or had questions to not hesitate in getting her. But no she was there making the trip not enjoyable at all. She was so persistent it was annoying. She was popping up around every corner of the store, trying to make small talk when we had clearly already told her we were just there to look at some options. My opinion is if you want to sell something, don’t be so overbearing with the customer! Be patient and give the customer their space! My gosh! We wanted to look and some of the furniture looked interesting and nice, but she made it seem more like she didn’t actually care for what we wanted, she just wanted to make the sale and get her commission. Well she got neither because we left!

Don&'t order from Ashley Furniture if you want a pleasant experience. I have tried twice. The first time I was assured by many customer care agents that their mistake was a fluke. However after a completely horrible experience the second time around it&'s obvious that they don&'t know what they&'re doing. I don&'t understand how a large company can function this way and still be in business. A bed delivered with no hardware to assemble it, had to call customer care to have the hardware sent to my home, wait 10 days for delivery of the hardware, have another delivery guy come to assemble the bed only to discover that they still had not sent all of the hardware, argued with several customer care agents who wanted me to wait another 7-10 days to send me the missing hardware, they finally &"found&" the missing hardware pieces at their warehouse and had someone bring them and assemble the bed. Only compensation offered was an &"Ashley Cash Card&" that has to be spent in store, so that I will ironically have to deal with this unprofessional incompetent company again. Save your time and your sanity and shop elsewhere!
I have purchased from Ashley Furniture twice now. The first time I ordered a mattress and sectional. The day of the delivery after waiting around for 6 hours I was informed that the truck had broken down and would not make the delivery. At that time I had cleared out my existing furniture and was left with no mattress to sleep on at 8pm. The following day I spoke to someone in customer care who said it would be another week before I could receive my delivery. I then decided to replace my furniture myself and told them that I no longer wanted to purchase the furniture , due to their ridiculous time line of waiting another week, especially without any kind of compensation. After this experience I thought I would give them one more try because I found a bedroom set online that I really loved. At the end of November I ordered the whole bedroom set. I received delivery on December 21st. When the delivery guys came they noticed that they did not have any of the hardware to assemble the bed. They left the pieces of the bed at my home and told me to call customer care to have the hardware mailed to me, then they could return to assemble it. I called customer care the following day and was told it would take 7-10 days to receive the hardware. I asked if it could be expedited through a quicker shipping, but I was told that was the best they could do. After waiting the full 10 days (business days) I finally received the hardware and called to have someone put the bed together. When the delivery guys arrived today they checked the hardware and discovered that all of the pieces were not there. I spoke to a customer care agent while the delivery guys were here and he told me that he could send me the missing pieces and that I would have to wait another 7-10 business days, then have the delivery guys come back again. I told him that this was not acceptable and his response was “you can wait or you can not wait”. I told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor. She said she would check the warehouse to see if the missing parts could be located and would call me back. At this time I am still waiting and my bed is still sitting in pieces in my room. I have not been offered any kind of compensation for my wasted time or even as much as a coupon to try to regain my business. It is clear to me that Ashley Furniture is not a reputable business. They should get some new management in place who knows how to run a company instead of the ringmaster they currently have in charge of this circus.

Walked in and immediately greeted by Joey. He made a decent first impression but as he came back to talk to us through the showroom, he was very abrasive. From very aggressive demonstrations of couch features to awkward connections he tried to make via personal stories. I liked the product here a lot but very slim chance I'll be returning to purchase from them.
