This is my first google review. I’ve had bad experiences before at businesses but never felt strongly enough to leave a review until now. We bought a living room set from Gavin at the Hoover store. The nicest way to sum it up is he’s good until you have a problem then, all I can say is good luck. We were quoted 3-5 weeks on the furniture arriving. Two days before our quoted day of arrival, I called the store to make sure we are still on track. I was told then the furniture was delayed and we were looking at an additional three weeks. That put us well outside of the 3-5 weeks quoted. Plus, no one called to tell me. I had to find out on my own. I decided to cancel the order because we didn’t want to wait an extra three weeks past the quoted time. Ashley still made me pay the 10% cancellation fee even though they broke their word on when the furniture would arrive. Even after that, cancelling was well worth losing 10% of the purchase price because now I can rest easy knowing Gavin didn’t get any commission off of me. We were repeat customers but we won’t be back. Lastly, don’t be fooled by all the recent positive reviews. They are running an in store contest and asking customers to scan a QR code and leave 5 stars right there on the spot.

We bought a dining room table, chairs, and buffet table. Waited a week or two for it to be delivered, as expected... but when it was delivered the guys that assembled them did a horrible job. The table legs were crooked and in a bind, edges were scratched and scuffed, and almost every bolt head was rounded off from them rushing through with drills. I managed to disassemble and re assemble them myself so they could be used but very dissatisfied with the overall experience.

I had a good experience while purchasing my furniture at Ashley Furniture in Hoover Alabama. My sales person was very attentive to me, although he moved really fast, and I kind of felt a little rushed, but it wasn’t too bad. He was very nice, and seemed knowledgeable. I am, however, really disappointed in the service after the sale. I am not going to use his name because I do not want to negatively affect him having future customers. I do think it will benefit him to work on his “service after the sale” skills though. After I made my purchase of a dining room set with a table, six chairs and a buffet/server, I went to my car, but came back to look around at some other furniture. I was surprised that my sales person did not come over to see why I was back, and if I need any additional help. I was in the store for at least another 30 minutes. I was actually thinking about buying a bedroom set. So my sales person lost out on a potential big sale. I did notice however, that as soon as my sale was completed, he immediately went to another awaiting customer, so I guess he was still too busy with that person to check on me. But it wasn’t just him. No other sales person in the store offered to help me either, maybe because they saw that I was his customer, and didn’t want to intrude? I’m not sure. But I did not get any help from anyone. When I finally left the store, I called my sales person and left a voicemail, but he never returned my call. About a week later after my furniture was delivered, I noticed that the underside of the dining room table had a small nick in the wood, as if maybe a tool or something hit it. It does not appear to be anything major at all, but myself person did tell me that if I notice any imperfection at all, to call him first, so that’s what I tried to do.I could not find my sales person‘s phone number so I called the store. Someone said he was with a customer and would give him the message to call me, but he never did it. I’m going to give him the benefit-of-the-doubt, that no one gave him the message. I called the store again this morning and he isn’t in today, and I was directed to customer care. So this is the third time I’ve tried to reach out to my sales person, and was unable to. I spoke to a very nice young lady in customer service, I cannot remember her name, I think her name is Shaundria? She told me to send pictures, and I really do feel like I’m going to be in good hands with her. I am not mad or fussing, my sales person told me to be sure to give him a Google review, so I am keeping my word, and merely telling Google what my experience at the Ashley Furniture was in Hoover Alabama.

Bought a recliner 10/3/25. It needed a spring fixed. Still haven’t got it repaired. Now they moved my repair date to 1/2/26. That’s 3 months after I bought the chair. They keep changing the repair date.

Took 1-2 months for a repair to be picked up and this was after calling multiple times to see if there was an update. When they do pick it up we get a call later saying it’s ready and they’ll schedule the delivery. Well, the day they came to deliver it they thought they were picking it up… after calling again it’s apparently not even repaired yet. No communication at all. No one knows what’s going on it seems.

I went to purchase mattress and financed it with Syncro bank, and ended up with a $12,000 credit card that I didn't apply for. Fraudulent! I did not activate the card. Had it canceled. Please, please do not initiate or sign anything in that store before thoroughly reading it. Do not depend on the salesman to explain it, he only wants the sale and DO NOT care about you or your credit!

We ended up buying two sectionals and Katie worked to get us the best deal possible. My overall experience couldn't have been better.
