So I came home and after some thinking I decided that I had to do this review. I just left Ashley about an hour ago, looking to purchase a new bed. So what other places to go than Ashley or Rooms to go. So I went to both just to way my options! Now a review should be based on honesty so in my opinion Ashley has the best Quality of furniture and I would put rooms to go at number 2! But this review is based solely on my experience with both. My first stop was rooms to go. When I first walked in there was a salesman that greeted me at the door, and ask what brought me in, I explained that I was looking to purchase a bed he then ask me what size I said king, the salesman proceeded to walked me over to the beds, the salesman then ask me could he do a narrow down for me to help assist with my decision which was very helpful! The salesman was Very patient and Customer service was a 10/10 ! After we were done I told him that I would be back if I decided to go with the choice I picked. But it was one more stop that I needed to make, and that was stopping by Ashley. Immediately when you walk in their is a gentleman sitting at the door. And he ask what brings in you in today, and after I explain that I was looking for a bed! he says well there are beds all over as he is still sitting down. So I proceeded to walk around the showroom feeling lost! But in my mind I am thinking surely someone is going to come up and assist me. Nope never happened. I found a bed that I absolutely loved! But again no one ever came up to ask was I finding everything okay, did I need help with anything etc. as I began to walk out of the showroom I see a salesman getting up from a table ask me did he stop me to ask did I find what I was looking for! Or did I find everything okay. Nope! He let me continue to walk away. And it was at that moment that I felt I had to say something about the customer service experience that I had. It was terrible! And yes I know walking away from a 1,300 bed that I wanted to purchase is not going to make or break Ashley. But I am hear to tell you that good customer service goes along way. My hope is that they see this review, and go back to the drawing board to see how could they give the customer the best experience possible. Kind Regards, Update: I changed my Review from 1 star to 5 i came back into the store tonight, and Mr. Craig was really really awesome i mean it gets it! Customer service was great. We ran into a little issue, and Mr.Craig was on! going over and beyond to figure it out. He gets it! And i thought it was only right that i give this update. I wish i could give Mr.Craig 10 stars he was just that great. You know you have some people that are in this profession for all the wrong reasons, being in Sales you absolutely have to be a people person, and if you're not you will not make it in this field. Mr. Craig is most definitely a people person. Ashley you all hot it right with Mr. Craig being on the team.

This is long overdue! I purchased bedroom furniture on July 27, 2023. I was told by the salesman that I had 72 hours to make any cancellations AFTER the furniture was delivered (incorrect info). I went back to the store a few days later to cancel the order, because I found something else of better quality. Here’s where it goes DOWN HILL.. I spoke with Former Manager Bruce in-store & he advised that he would cancel the order. I inquired about my $300 deposit & he stated that I would have to return the “FREE” promotional pillows that somehow were $300 - what a coincidence! No problem! They were still in the box, as I didn’t have any plan to use them. I took them back to the store & was told that refund process would begin (that was a lie). Months go by - Nothing happens.. no phone call or email from Bruce!! October 2023, I get a call from Ashley’s corporate office & they trying to deliver the furniture that was canceled 3 months prior. Just Horrible! I explained the situation & she said a Manager will reach out. So ANOTHER Manager reached out & she explained how she was on leave of absence when this occurred & that Bruce was fired, because he let a lot of things slip through the crack (obviously). She assured me she would resolve the issue - I haven’t heard from her since that day. I called & called & called. Finally, I get ANOTHER Manager by the name of Melanie. She’s been the most helpful after 5/6 months. She reached out to the CFO, who apparently is on extended lunch. So now I’m stuck with a lost of $300 & they are now charging me ANOTHER $130 fee. The CFO, Manager or Finance can’t resolve my issue & pretty much blaming Bruce. He’s gone now according to the company’s gossip line! Oh & another thing, the day I went into the store ANOTHER customer was there with the exact same problem! Don’t believe the reviews lol. They’re fabricated & I’m sure 60-70% of them have now had some sort of issue with the furniture after they got it home too. This store is worst than a buy here, pay here car lot!

I was done with Ashley Furniture in Hoover after my experience, until I met Mia. We had ordered a dining table and 8 chairs back in April/May of 2020. We finally got our table February 23’. As Covid set in, production basically stopped and supply chains were basically halted. It seemed that no one at the store really cared to help us for almost a full 2 years. No one ever reached out to us to give updates, I called diligently, once a month, just to get the same answer over and over. Which meant that there was no progress and we were not any closer to getting our furniture this month than we were last month. This just made us bitter and hopeless. We were ready to throw in the towel, but didn’t want to, bc it was my wife’s wedding gift from me to her. But once we were introduced to LaTanya Dobbs, things started to turn around. She helped as much as she could possibly help. She is wonderful! She introduced us to the new store manager, Mia. Mia sat and listened to me complain, for probably 15 minutes, maybe longer, and was ready to take charge of the situation. She assured us that she was on it and would make the situation right. After the convo, my wife and felt like we had known Mia for years and we were confident in Mia’s ability to rectify this situation. And just to be clear, we were very understanding of the Covid/supply chain issues. Our main issue is that no one from company seemed to want to give us any help or even seemed to care. But Mia and LaTanya turned those feelings around. Those lady’s are fantastic! We will be back. I can’t say enough about the wonderful customer service we received after feeling like the situation was never gonna be rectified. I also need to mention that the delivery guys were also incredible. Super nice, professional and everything in between. They told me their names and for the life of me I can’t remember. I think they are contracted out, but regardless they were awesome. Please give all these wonderful people mentioned raises and for the love of God, do whatever you got to do to keep them around and happy. Because customer service like this is hard to come by in any industry. From an experience that was a 1 out of 10, Mia and company turned it into a 11 out of 10. Thank you Mia! Super happy!

My husband and I purchase a whole bedroom set from Ashley’s last year on Memorial Day. We chose to pickup the furniture from the warehouse ourselves to save some money. Each time we picked up our furniture, the furniture was damaged. We had to go 4 times before we got something that looked good, not to mention we had 2 days to return the furniture each time before we were “stuck with it”. It was upsetting because one of the workers told us we shouldn’t shop there again because they (Ashley’s) did not have quality furniture. So we were out gas money and a good experience. Well after getting the furniture home. One of the side night stands has water damage on it. I have called to get this replaced, but since we didn’t return it in the 2 days no one has helped. HOWEVER, we have a year warranty on it. The only thing that voids the warranty is if it moves houses (which we have not done). I finally got fed up with calling people on the phone after 3 months, getting mixed answers, and no help. Everyone claimed they would call me back in 2-5 days. No one ever did. I go to the store and speak with the manager, Mia. She mentioned that our claims we have been filing for months were never put in so it’s like we have never even called!!! Mia was very sweet and seemed to be helpful. However after I left I get a similar response -someone is supposed to call me. No one ever did. She said she called them and then stated she could no longer help on her position (which I understand). She said I would have to contact the protection plan company, but has yet to respond to me to give me a number after I have asked. So once again I am being left on “read”. I have called every number on my warranty paper and every number I have found online. It’s upsetting because this is the first big purchase my husband and I made as a newly wed. I will be contacting corporate if I can find a working number and I will NEVER purchase from Ashley’s again. So upsetting

Before the Hoover, AL location was shut down due to the pandemic, I spoke with numerous of people (forgive me if I misspell any names. I am typing them out as they sound) Shekoria-store manager, Takeira, Tonya-our sales representative, Kiera, Mr. Beard-manager, Mr. Summers whom stated was a manager, Mr. Jim in corporate, Dana, office manager (very rude), Samantha corporate, Mr. Lane another manager at the store Issue: placed my order in November, got my damaged furniture in February, was told to accept the furniture as is since it will take months to get it back, I will receive replacements through the mail which arrived a month later in February, and a tech will call to schedule to fix my damaged furniture. I received a mirror without my dresser but waited two weeks for the dresser and never was provided an updated statement for my return chairs. I spoke with Dana an office manager whom was very rude today 04/15/2020 as I was trying to explain to her my concerns. She rudely dismissed me but did call me back to say they didn’t receive any chairs. I had to explain further and tell her to read the notes because we did return them and paid $180 for them on my debit card. She rudely tell me that she did call me back, she had to fix other people mess, that Charles will call me back, and rudely hung up on me. After speaking with corporate today 4/16/2020 for the second time they spoke with me nicely, agreed, and sympathetic to my concerns. She placed me on hold after saying they are a franchise store and are not part of their corporate services but can put a fire under them to assist me. She did not tell me that’s she was going to transfer me to a supervisor at the store. Needless to say, when he said hello I was so confused of knowing who he was. He continued saying hello, hello but not his name is so and so and I was transferred from corporate but hello and hello. I had to say hello and you are and to inform to him all over again of what I told the person whom transferred me and to everyone else I spoke with. He informed that he was not even unaware of what was discussed today with Dana or corporate and I can count on Mr. Beard and his call tomorrow 4/17/2020. I just want an explanation and print off of my statement because what I have is a receipt of two chairs and a mirror to a whole bedroom suite that was not provided with a dresser during my delivery. I have the dresser but nothing reflecting the cost or refund of my chairs. If Tonya miscalculated for not adding my dresser with the mirror and they had to recalculate by adding the cost of the chairs that is fine but I still need a break down of what was done. NO ONE and I repeat NO ONE ever got back to me to explain anything. My last contact with Mr. Beard was that I was to have a refund that was never provided to me. I had to wait forever to get a call back for a scheduled appointment appointment on the repairs and they took FOREVER to deliver my furniture. Spoke with Kiera last Friday, whom was very nice and informed that she saw my returned chairs and finally immediately had a tech to call and schedule for repair, which I agreed to. She also informed to have emailed Mr. Beard. I was hoping to have all this handled before I placed my review. This is not the time to have bad reviews while still doing business. Many people are still able to pay and or are still required to pay for their accounts. I also understand having a skeleton crew due to this pandemic but this happened way before that. I will update if rather I am pleased with the outcome or not. As of April, if I could provide a zero star I would. As of today 05/01/2020 I still have not received a call back from Mr. Beard or Mr. Lane, received an updated statement removing the cost of the two chairs, my refund for my returned chairs, and I’m still waiting on my furniture to be repaired. I will update when they fix this problem.

My girlfriend and I went to the Ashley furniture home store in Hoover al about 2 months ago. To say they least we were entertained. We worked with Stephen Barnett. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about their products and after helping us for almost 2 hours we had picked out 6000 dollars worth of furniture for our new home. The quality of the furniture seemed to be good and the warranty seemed to be top notch. We were told that our furniture was hand made in Mississippi and was made to order. "That's why it takes 4 to 6 weeks to have it delivered". Our furniture was delivered and set up and as I was taking off the tags from the bottom of the tables, that were jumped on in store to show how sturdy they were, I noticed the tags say "made in India". Now I don't go to Mississippi often but last time I checked, India wasn't in Mississippi. One of the chairs for our dining room table has already broken. We spent 600 dollars on the warranty which would be refunded as store credit if we didn't use it in a 5 year period. That's down the drain..... Stephen is an excellent salesman..now I know that he will say anything to make a sale. *UPDATE* So we have had our $6000 worth of furniture for nearly 4 years. The support arms for the dining room chairs have all broken and one of the chairs is so wobbly that we can’t even sit in it. The table has also been scratched up by my dog. I called the warranty company to make a claim to get it fixed/replaced because I was told by Stephen that, “your dogs could shred your couch to pieces and the warranty will cover it.” That was a big fat LIE! When speaking with someone with the warranty company, he told me that vomit, urine and feces were the only things covered. The scratches weren’t covered because damage made from teeth, claws and beaks were not covered. I took paid $600 for the warranty and it’s not worth the paper it was printed on. The warranty reads that pieces aren’t covered during moving, damage during acts of God, and surface scratches. After reading the warranty I don’t know that it would cover anything. I know better now but being “young and dumb” at the time, I just believed a salesman. Stephen would’ve done/told us anything to make a sale. He added an extra $600 to the total to bump that commission up. Well Stephen I hope that those extra few dollars you made off of me were worth it. Don’t send me a message this time asking me to take down my post because everyone should know what they’re working with. Have some integrity. I don’t know if he still works there but if he does it wouldn’t let him con you into buying a lamp from that place much less anything else.

TERRIBLE ,HORRIBLE experience. My sister's and I purchased a bedroom set for my parents as a Christmas gift. Mind you I said Christmas. We were told that we would get a call once the bed/frame made it to the distribution center in Bessemer. Which we wasn't even tracking that we would have to drive there we just thought we would pick it up from the Ashley's furniture store in Hoover. A week went back still nothing so we called and they said that the bed still hadn't arrived and that they would give us a call when it did. A week passed and still nothing. Fast forward we are in the month of February now . My dad rented a truck and drove to the distribution center to pick up said bed and somehow there was a mix up with the order and they didn't have the bed it was just the frame. So they had to call Hoover to try and fix that issue as well. They apologize for the confusion but still thaydid t negate the fact that the month is February. So my dad waited in Bessemer while they tried to fix the issue and still turned out that we didn't get the bed. The called us back later that evening mind you the distribution center was closed by then. They said that they would deliver the bed and that they were sorry about the mishap. They said that it would only take a few days to deliver it out and that they call to let us know once the bed as there. Turned out they didn't and we called them a few days later and they said oh yes the bed is here when did you want to pick it up. That's when that had to put us on hold because we explained to them that they are supposed to deliver the bed. So now we are at the point where we are really kind of frustrated with the service that we have received thus far. They finally delivered the bed and it literally took them all day is was delivered at 9 that night. Then when we got the mattress it was soaked. We called and spoke with one of the guys and he said that he would tell customer care in which he didn't or maybe it was another mix up but we had to call the next day. At that point filed a claim and we took pictures and left them a reason why we just want the bed we preferred a refund for the order. They said it would take a week and that they would give us a call back. Week went back still nothing and so we called them and guess what something happened and they didn't do something with the claim so they said it would take a week and we should hear something back. I gave them 2 days and I called them back and apparently They gave us a call and left a message which I didn't get no such thing. After review instead of giving us our refund they want to give us another bed with a mattress protector. Why would we want any dealings with this particular store anymore????? I'm highly unsatisfied with the service and experience. I love all the other Ashley's furniture store's that I have had the pleasure of dealing except for this one here in Alabama. It's bad because I had had a pretty awesome experience elsewhere that it was my idea to use this one here.

DO NOT EVER order from Ashley Homestore. On 10/01/2019, at the branch in Birmingham, AL, I paid $1,940 up front to order a sofa, two nightstands, and a bedframe. They promised delivery within 4-6 weeks, or 11/12 at the latest. On 11/15, I called to find out why my furniture had not been delivered. They offered to deliver everything on 11/20 (over a week late). But then on 11/20, about two hours before delivery time, customer service told me that my bedframe would NOT be delivered because it was damaged. I asked them to cancel the order and refund my money. They told me to contact the store from which I ordered. The store said I needed to speak to the manager named Charles, who was in a meeting and unavailable at the time. They took down my information and said he would return my call. He NEVER did. I called the store again on 11/22, and again they said he was in a meeting, and took down my information. He called me back briefly and said that he would have to figure out a solution and call me back. Again, he NEVER did. Hours later, I called the store, and they told me customer service was supposed to return my call. They transferred me to customer service, and I explained my situation. The representative said my refund would need to be approved, which could take up to 7-10 business days, or I could have my furniture ready by 11/27. I agreed to the delivery against my better judgement. I don’t want this bald-faced lying company to keep my money but honestly, I’m just tired of sitting on the floor. As of today, my furniture still has not been delivered, and probably will not be until the 8th or 9th week. Scheduling and communicating with them has been frustrating and difficult, and no one has offered any kind of apology or tried to make it right. The way this business treats their customers is dishonest and gross. This is week 9 and I STILL have no furniture. They legally owe a refund, so I’m heading to the store today.

I purchased a bed, mattress and Night stand from this store on 12/28/18. No delivery as of 02/20/19. I purchased a Queen Upholstered bed with head board, foot board and rails for 399.99. I also purchsed a Sealy mattress for 1,740.99, a box spring for 100.00 and a platinum protection VIP plan for the mattress for 249.99. I also purchased a three drawer night stand for 320.81. The taxes were 256.18. The total was $3,067.96 which I paid for with my discover card. The delivery date was supposed to be January 9, 2019. They delivered the bed but said they didn't have the hardware for the bed so they took the bed back and never even took the mattress off the truck, but left the boxspring, night stand and a mattress protector. They sheduled a delivery for the bed and mattress for the following week. I received a call from the delivery department that the furniture was damaged and could not be delivered. Was given another delivery date two weeks later, I received a call that they didn't have the hardware for the bed and would contact me later. This went on for two more delivery dates. Always got a call saying they couldn't make the delivery. I called the store so many times that the ladies that answered the phone knew who I was, but no one returned my calls. I called the salesman whose name is David several times, he tired to help but advised me that now the computers were down. They say the computers were down for over two weeks. I have no idea how they were conducting business without computers, but that was the story. After many calls and failure to cancel the order (they said they couldn't cancel it because they couldn't access my order without the computer), I personally went into the store on Friday February 15th and spoke to Charles Beard, one of the managers in person. He advised me that he had no idea why the delivery folks would keep waiting on hardware for that bed, mind you, they told me once that the bed was damaged, so this didn't make sense to me, but he advised me that they had six of those beds so he put in an order for a completely different bed and that he would call me on Tuesday to verify a delivery date since Monday was a holiday. I never heard from Mr. Beard and tried on several more occassions to reach him. I left messages and was never contacted. I went to the store on February 20th and asked that my order be cancelled. The lady tried to cancel the order and found that it would only refund $2,355.08 because the night stand and box spring was still at my home. This also didn't make sense because she was unable to refund the mattress protection plan, even though I didn't have the mattress. She promised that she would put in a delivery pick-up order so they could come get the nightstand and box spring and at that time they would be able to credit the remainder of the money that I spent to my Discover Card. I have not heard another word from them. They still owe me $712.88 and need to pick up the nightstand and box spring. I am very, very, very upset. I had just purchased this home and have no bed for the guest bedroom. This is ridiculous! It has been almost two months and I still don't have a resolution.

So this is my first time leaving a review for anything on google, just to paint a picture of how strange and frustrating this situation is... it finally drove me to leave a review. like many other reviews I’m seeing about this location, the issue lies in the actual delivery of the furniture. In my experience, the service inside the store was pretty darn good. all easy stuff to deal with, price wasn’t too bad for the couch and recliner I wanted, instructions for payment options and whatnot all very clear, all the employees greeted with smiling faces and genuinely seemed happy to help us. I don’t know how much involvement this location has with the people they use to make deliveries, so I’m a little hesitant to leave a review like this for the store itself (in fact I even did some digging to see if I could find out if there was a place to leave a review/complaint with delivery specifically) but like... at this point some other potential customer’s gotta be warned about this mess, so whatever. before the couch arrived, I got a call that the recliner would be delayed but that the couch would still be there as scheduled. I didn’t care about that all, it wasn’t a problem. they said they would call me at the beginning of the next week to set a specific delivery day for the chair. cool. no biggie. the couch came as expected, BUT there is actually a small rip on one corner, which is upsetting, but I figured it was a little hard to notice anyway, and decided not to complain about it (plus we have a warranty and can just have replaced later if it gets worse) SO waited to weeks, heard nothing about the chair. called them finally and was told i’m caller number 20. i stayed on hold for one full hour and gave up, left a message. obviously they never called me back. so i called again a few days later. they told me the communication with the warehouse was down or whatever. the man I spoke with was very nice and said he’d call me the next day with an update. he didn’t call for two days, but he finally pulled through and said the chair was ready! yay! he said it would be delivered today, wednesday the 13th! woohoo! he said they’ll call me two days before the delivery to confirm a three-hour window for me to expect the delivery. awesome! so... today is wednesday the 13th and... would you believe it? I have heard nothing from them and yep... no chair. so I’m on hold with them now. right now marks the 31 minute mark. I’ve gone from caller 16 to caller two. the annoying recording that pipes up every now and then keeps telling me a hold time of like 8 minutes or something, which I know now after having called this godforsaken place three times prior, is a boldfaced LIE. I understand things malfunction and there’s nothing the representatives we speak to can really do about it, but I really feel like they could at least stop telling me things that aren’t going to happen. also, the way it was prhased to me, it sounded like they very recently started having issues with communications being down. but after reading these reviews, people have been told this SO MANY times throughout the year. is it even true? like who is telling the representatives to say these things? it’s now been 36 minutes since I started this phone call. I’ve forgotten every voice I’ve ever heard apart from the robot man telling me I’m now first in line and the other robot man who continues to remind me I may press one at anytime to leave a message. they are my only friends now. hang in there, buddies. if anyone is thinking of going with place, please look at reviews for other places first. it’s really not worth it here. I wish I had done my research first. (also, I left three stars bc I’ve worked in customer service and now how rating systems are supposed to work. it sounds like I should have said one star, but that’s for situations that are highly extreme like they told me to go to hell or something lol. four stars is terrible service, three is a disaster and highly frustrating experience)

So I ordered about a yeat ago and they screwed all kind of things up and then on top of that the quality of the couch I got was horrible!! But I thought maybe I would give them a second chance at Christmas time this year because my kids wanted new bedroom suites. Well we found one at Ashley we thought he would like in November I asked for it to be delivered December 22nd. They said yes that is fine they would hold it until then. So they called to schedule delivery no problem - I was out of town and my spouse was the one who would be there for delivery- I got a call during the time in which it was to be delivered and the guy was really rude and said no one would come to the door- My spouse works nights so I thought they may have dozed off waiting on them- I said you will have to knock really loud and he got ugly with me about it and then when my spouse gets to the door they start unloading they unload everything EXCEPT the bed and my spouse asked where the bed is? And they say oh it's damaged I can't give it to you. So she asked to see it because no one had said anything about it being damaged. He told her no and that he had other deliveries. So I called corporate where I spoke with a really rude lady who also placed me on hold and called a questioned my spouse about the bed and then came back on the phone and lied to me about what was said. So I called the store in Hoover and spoke with the Manager who told me he would call me back and he didn't so I called him back and he told me again he would call me back which he NEVER did. But in the mean time of me calling him the first time the delivery guys came back and decided to show her the bed they showed her one piece of the bed and it looked like someone took a pocket knife or keys and scratched but it was only in one spot. My spouse said let me go inside and get my charger so I can call and see if they can replace just this one peice when it comes in. They said okay when she came back out side they were gone and this is when I called the manager the 2nd time and he said he had not spoken to anyone yet because he couldn't get anyone on the phone so he would call me back. He never called me back (the scheduling manager did call me back and he was very nice but nothing was done about the situation at hand still) in fact I called a few days later and left a message on the answering machine and still haven't heard from them. So my spouse had to go that day and find a bedroom suite that could be gotten right then because like I explained to everyone that I spoke with even when ordering the bed it was a Christmas gift for my 11 year old son, thank goodness I didn't rely on Ashely Furniture to do the right thing or he wouldn't of had a Christmas. I do not suggest this store at all! Horrible customer service, horrible quality furniture, horrible delivery, horrible over all! I only gave a star because I had to to leave a review!

I had left them a 4 star review after my purchase. I am now just so frustrated with their customer service. The bed that was supposed to be delivered was out of stock (after being assured that it was in stock and would be delivered in time for my house guests arrival. They delivered box spring and mattress but not even a loaner frame . The box spring was left on the floor in the middle of the room, while the mattress was left rolled up in it's packaging. After calling to complain several days in a row I was told they would deliver a loaner frame late on Saturday. They did. Their delivery man called me about an hour before arriving at my house, he was confused as to what he was delivering. He arrived, put the bed frame together and the box spring on it, left the mattress rolled up to the side. My husband asked them to put the mattress on it, had to talk the delivery person into putting the mattress on it! Then had to talk the delivery person into taking the trash away! We bought over $8k in furniture from the. I had to beg for a loaner frame because they didn't "think" to provide one when they delivered the furniture. We had to beg the delivery person to do his job! (I was out of town and there was no way my husband could have handled the mattress on his own he has debilitating arthritis. There furniture is nice but their customer service after purchase is awful! So much so that I went to Haverty's to finish purchasing the furniture for our new home. They may be a little more expensive, but their customer service is fabulous. Their delivery people helped rearrange our living room to accommodate the pieces that they were delivering . My sales person Darma texted me after delivery to ensure I was happy with everything. Haverty's also will allow you to return any item within 3 days of delivery if your not happy with it. When I told Ashley that I wanted to return the furniture the day after delivery I was told that it was against company policy....in other words you bought it your stuck with it no matter how badly we treat you. Buyer beware, Ashley may be great in the store but once they have your money don't expect much from them.

Part I: They sold me furniture with BEDBUGS LIVING IN MY HEAD BOARD!! Part II is on Yelp I have several issues with this business from damaged furniture x2, and bed bugs in my bedroom set, and double billing with 2 finance companies. I paid for a king bedroom set in 5/2018. Upon delivery from the first night my companion complained of something biting and itching on his ankles all through out the night. We thought maybe our cats had fleas and they had gotten into the bedroom even though the cats are not allowed into the bedroom. We treated our cats by shaving them, applying essential oils, topical medication, and oral tablets. We treated our carpets and the whole house for fleas with a multitude of remedies. My companion continued to complain about the biting and itching that occurred only in bed at night time. At this point I pretty much told him he was crazy because nothing has ever bitten me. By the end of July/beginning of August I began to get bitten at night while in bed. At that point I tried to figure out what it is torturing me at night. The cats were free of the fleas so I treated the carpets in our bedroom some more. As we both continued to get bitten, I googled different things that could be the culprit. I came across the possibility of bedbugs! So I searched the mattress over and over again trying to find any evidence of bedbugs as stated online. I found nothing in the mattress, no blood no stains no bugs. I started sleeping with long pants and long sleeves and socks and a hoodie as it becam unbearable for me! Then one night through all that clothing I got bit on my hands and ankles, I jumped up, grabbed my flash light, threw the covers back and saw one bed bug rushing back to the head of the bed. I immediately had my companion to throw out the box springs and ready to throw out the mattress as well. But as he stopped to really look at where they are hiding in the mattress, again, nothing was found in that mattress. But when we looked at the base of the front of the headboard, and the backside of the headboard, a suede material, there they all were, living and breeding in my brand new head board. At that time I immediately called Ashley the very next morning to please come and remove the bed at once!! When I spoke to Lyndsi in corporate, she said if she were myself she would just throw it away! Then she said that there is no way this could happen with their products and plus I waited too long to report the issue. I apologized for not discovering the problem in the first week or so after delivery. She tried to explain their "no bug" process of treating all the furniture prior to delivery that's 100% bug proof! I brought to her attention how returned furniture from a dissatisfied customer being put on the same truck as new furniture could have cross contaminated my new bedroom set. As the delivery guys have picked up a damaged living room set from my house and put it on the truck with new furniture still to be delivered. She then claimed that all returned furniture gets picked up at the end of all other deliveries at the end of the day. However that's not true, as my damaged living room furniture was picked up first thing in the morning. And I'm sure it was placed on the same truck still delivering new furniture to other customers. That right there is cross contamination. I have asked them to please replace my king bed, but they refuse.

We went into Ashley in Hoover, AL in February 2018 to get an idea of what we wanted. We had just put an offer on a house and were starting our search for furnishings. That first trip was great. We were greeted by Terry, who was eager to help us. He even let us know that the sectional that we we agreed on was the same one that he had at home. We made note of pricing for a sectional, a chest of drawers and dresser. Since my wife and I work in sales, we understand the importance of research. We searched for months, even after our Ashley experience. We kept our eyes on the pricing for the furniture from the different retailers that we saw and the same furniture we had been interested in had been marked down. We headed back to the same Ashley store in Hoover, where we had built a rapport with Terry, and asked for him by name since he had been so kind to us when we came in the first time on April 30th. We double checked to be sure that the online price would be honored in-store -- This is where our pleasant transaction takes a turn for the worse. Our sales person's demeanor toward us changed when we wanted to get the online price. Both my wife and I have worked commission based jobs in the past and no matter how small the sale, any commission is better than none, right? Especially when there is what seems to be a strict "no return policy." We still ended up spending a few grand in the store. I'll spare the details of how we wanted to speak to the manager, Charles, who wasn't interested in speaking to us at all and his demeanor showed it, and skip right to checking out and our scheduled delivery date. Originally, the delivery date was Tuesday (the delivery trucks only come to our area on Tuesdays) May 15th. No problem. We are ready. A few days before the 15th, I receive a text saying that our delivery date has been changed and to call a number. I call it and am told that a piece of our sectional would not be delivered until that day so they will have to postpone delivery until Tuesday May 22nd. Fine. Just a few things to move around and make adjustments to and we can make sure someone is home to accept the delivery. However, I'm also told during this phone conversation that they would not be able to deliver our chest of drawers or dresser to the house without the sectional. I was instructed to call the store manager at the store that we bought our furniture to see what could be done. I finally get him on the phone and he says that makes no sense and they should be able to do a partial delivery. No partial delivery was made on May 22nd. There was no resolve. We had the runaround for a couple more scheduled appointments, and the text letting us know that the delivery had been delayed, tried to contact the manager at Ashley so often to the point to where I think my calls were being screened. I just showed up in-store after trying to get someone who could actually help on the phone. Mind you, these delivery times were on weekdays. On May 29th, we got 3/4 of our sectional delivered with our chest of drawers and dresser. It was rainy. I specifically requested that the delivery drivers be equipped with something to protect our floors to no avail. I got to clean up after 3 sets of boot prints on my floors. Per the head delivery person, somehow they had forgotten to check to be sure that all 4 pieces of the sectional were on the truck. He called the fulfillment department saying he thought he might be able to get in touch with someone more readily than I and it was relayed to him that someone would call us (me) back. We got the final piece of the sectional delivered on June 2nd and I got to mop my floors 3 times that week. Our experience was horrendous. I will never spend another red cent in any Ashley Furniture Home Store for as long as I live and I will try to spare anyone that I care about the heartache, headache inconvenience it has been to purchase anything from this company. Find your furniture elsewhere.

IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! What type of shrewd customer I must be to demand 75% off a product, per the advertising? Nevertheless, as the conversation progressed with Courtney, and after MUCH private consultation over the phone with someone who she described to be her manager, she related to me that they could bring the sales price to 60% off. Furthermore, Courtney told me that I was obligated to purchase a $199.00 warranty plan because the sale amount exceeded a certain threshold. After wrangling with this for a while, Courtney begrudgingly "allowed" us to remove it from the total sale price. Being the cunning man I am, I tried to work in some lamps and a table group, at which time Courtney's manager, Latandra, became involved with the sale. I assumed Latandra was an assistant manager of sorts, since I thought it was the case Courtney was already communicating with the manager when she was previously on the phone. Latandra was a very austere and rather rigid woman who refuted the entire sale Courtney and I worked so hard on for approximately 2 hours to negotiate. Latandra led us back to the showroom area where the sectional was, and it was at this moment I realized how car salesman-like this business was. Latandra began to kindly scold Courtney for her inability to understand that the price on the stand was not reflective of the price for the sectional and the ottoman/storage unit that seemingly came with it. She showed us that the price was supposed to reflect the sectional without the ottoman/storage unit, but was unable to accurately show us such pricing information upon demand. We were simply told to trust her knowledge of intimate pricing details that Courtney had not yet learned and that we as customers were not expected to be privy to. To my surprise, we needed to renegotiate the price to factor in the nearly $700.00 ottoman. Latandra, taking a position of reconciliation, informed me verbally that she would try to adjust our new price by no more than $150 more than what had been previously discussed. With that in mind, I reluctantly chose to proceed with the sale because this item is exactly what the wife was looking for. After doing some computations, working with their system, and returning, Latandra approached us with a final sales menu exceeding the expected amount by about $400.00! This was unacceptable! I meticulously did all of the computations for the sale with ink and paper to ensure I would not be getting bamboozled by such questionable practices. After deliberating this amount with her, Latandra acted as if she "fixed" an error (ironically) and was able to work the number back down to approximately $200.00 over the original agreed-upon price. I woefully accepted their counter offer, because it was close enough to the final sale price we renegotiated earlier. Latandra firmly refused to work in the table group we spoke of earlier, or the lamps to accompany the entire set as displayed. Latandra chastised me for calling the display a "set" by stating that my usage of that word was "tacky". Not taking her comments to heart, I just shrugged her comment and snapped back with a question as to why my language seemed to confound her so much. Nevertheless, I was only half-heartedly looking to get the table group and lamps as consolation gifts for my troubles, but also understood why it couldn't be done. In conclusion, I would not recommend this business. Whether or not the poor advertising practices were isolated to this furniture store makes no difference. This team apparently lacked training, exercised stiff-arm tactics to yield high commissions, displayed a level of incompetence you might find at the end of the unemployment line, and less than honest in every regard. However, I want to state that Courtney was very kind. She was very willing to work with us during the sale. She was very reasonable and amicable. Latandra was not. You can definitely tell she had been in sales for years and had developed a level of craftiness which she used to try to better her customers.

I recently visited the Ashley Store in Hoover. By all means if you have a lifetime to wait for your furniture go there. Also, be advised not to write a check. I only rated them a one because I have no other choice. I visited the store to shop for furniture for a newly purchased home on Sept 15th. I purchased three bedroom suits to find out a week later that my order was messed and several pieces would not be available until late October or November. Since my plan was to move in on the 29th, I cancelled the order for two of the suits and purchased suits from another store who carried Ashley furniture. I have not yet received the one bedroom suite from the Hoover store nor have I heard anything from anyone unless I call. I called today, the 9th, to find my suit had finally reached the store and was just waiting for me to call and schedule delivery. Was anyone not going to notify me it was in so I could schedule a date? I find out that because I wrote a check I have to be paid back from "corporate" with a check which takes three to four weeks. Three to four weeks on a check that cleared my bank within days of the purchase!!! I needed this money back ASAP to purchase furniture. I spoke to the store manager who offered no help. Asked for the corporate office number to find out they do not have a number you can call to complain but you can email them. Unbelievable. I did email them and received an email back from someone at corporate who stated two weeks ago if this was not resolved in 48-hours to email her back. Needless to say, I emailed her back and I have yet to hear from her. I have since received all of my furniture (2 bedroom suits, den set, and living room) from the other furniture store which I ordered 10 days after placing this order with Ashley. To date I have not received the one bedroom suite from Ashley nor my refund. I am recommending to anyone I come across who is serious about purchasing furniture to stay away from this store. This has been awful. And the nightmare continues. I have finally received my furniture but it is scratched up and beat up. The delivery guy takes pictures and says he will let the furniture technician know to come out and fix it. I should have sent it back but at this point I need a bed to sleep in. A week later, technician calls and schedules an appointment to come out and service the bedroom suit. The day before he is to come out I get two confirmation calls that a technician will be there between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will call 30 minutes before arrival. The day he is scheduled to come he is a "no show" , "no call". I have lost a day of work because of this. To date, "no show", "no call". I am telling you all stay away, take your business somewhere else unless you just have time to waste. I'm going to resort to the Better Business Bureau maybe I can get some resolution through them. Geeesshhhh.

The worst experience we have ever had buying furniture. Think twice before purchasing from them. We went to the store, picked some items (dining table set, two desks, head board, TWO night stands, dresser, and a table set for the living room. First, the store prices are way higher than their internet prices! Luckily, my wife discovered that and kept of showing the guy (named Evert) this whenever we like something. Since they have a matching price policy, and this is actually THEIR website, It seems they didn't like it. Evert kept on going back and forth to the store manager whenever we talk about the prices. The floor model of the desk we liked was broken, we showed it to evert who assured us we will get new ones from the warehouse. Anyways, we made the purchase and he said the delivery will contact you. They did, but the lady on the phone told my wife they will be delivering everything but the living room table set. When my wife asked when then should we expect the set, the lady yelled at my wife who astonishingly told her "why are you talking to me like this, if someone would be angry in here it should be me not you". I took the phone from my wife and asked the lady to give me her manager, but the ling was hung up! When the delivery guys came in, we found that the head board, and two dining seats had scratches, so we refused them. One of the desks was apparently broken and fixed with nails and paint finishing, actually the nails was starting to make a new crack in the wood! We think this was the one we saw in store and were assured we will get a new ones!!! So, we refused this desk too. The biggest disaster is when we found only one night stand. The delivery guys, who were really nice, showed us their list with only one night stand. We looked at our receipt, and yes, it was one night stand. Me and my wife were sure that we were clear with evert that we will take TWO of them (how can one order one night stand for a queen bed). Anyways, this was our mistake we didn't review the receipt he wrote before paying, but we were in a hurry to pick up the kids from school. In fact, I think it's seldom when people go thoroughly after a sales man in reviewing the list of items they purchased. The delivery guys took pictures of the refused items, put them back in the truck and advised that someone from the customer service will be calling us in 30 min! Once they left, we phoned Evert (the sales man) to ask about the one night stand thing. He was very rude and said no we didn't state two (me and my wife are sure that this was repeated at least 3 times) he proposed that we have to order another one for $91. After that, the customer service, who were supposed to call in 30 minutes, phoned us after 3 days! All what they said is "We don't know when your replacement and remaining items will be ready and someone will contact you to arrange for the delivery when they become ready".
