Fred helped to make our experience at Ashley furniture so easy! The storeroom had everything we wanted. All of the displays were setup so nicely. What we loved the most was that Fred let us browse and did not hound us, but he was available every time we had a question. Awesome experience!

My first experience was with Christina, and she tried her best to get me what I wanted. Although, the items were discontinued, she stayed in contact with me as I browsed the internet for other items. However, Christina was off on my second visit, and Krystal was an angel to work with. Another piece that I saw online was discontinued, yet it was not showing out of stock or discontinued on the website. Krystal found me a comparable sectional and got me approved for a higher credit limit. Both ladies were professional and super helpful throughout my search process. I really appreciate doing business with individuals as such!

Saturday, February 22, 2025, I visited the store referenced above to purchase a bedroom suit. After shopping around, I located a bed. Justin gathered personal informed from me and the numbers were ran. When the sales manager came back, he presented me with two quotes: one of the quotes included the bedroom suite only and the other included the bedroom suit, pillows and protection/warranty coverage. I explained that I did not need the warranty coverage nor pillows and was told I would save money and would be eligible for a bigger discount IF I purchased the bedroom suit, pillows and warranty coverage. as the price included those two items. It was then explained that if I removed those two items, my price would increase. Everyone's goal is to save - so of course, I took the lesser option. Once everything was signed, etc. Justin informed me that I would be able to take the pillows home with me that day. Prior to leaving, Justin executed a "bill out" and I was provided the pillows and went on about my day. On February, 27, 2025, I texted Justin personal cell number and inquire about the return process and never received a response. On February 28, 2025, I contacted the store and spoke with an unidentified female who later transferred the call to Kenny, a sales manager. I explained my issue to Kenny and was informed that the two pillows would remain of my account as they were nonrefundable. I later called back and asked to speak with the store manager and Kenny informed me that he was not in at the moment. I then asked Kenny what was his name and when was he expected to return to the store and Kenny informed me that his name was JR, that he would return on tomorrow, Saturday, February 29 and that he would not be able to help. I feel as if this "Manager Special" that is offered to customers is somewhat deception. In the end, you don't save much - if anything at all. I came into the store for a bedroom set and bedroom set only. I did not want the protection/warrant coverage and pillow and would not have purchased either if it was not presented that I would save more including them. I don't feel that it is right to tell customer if they don't get this - their price will go up. Prior to coming into the store, I researched the reviews; one would think that everyone's experience is different; It appears as if everyone's experience at this location is the same. This location most definitely aligns with the low rated and bad reviews provided by customers on Google. As of 4/23/25, this matter has nor been resolved. Two months ago, I emailed the store owner using the email address provided to other customers who left reviews and haven't heard anything. Overall, this store lacks customer service and professional skills.

Do NOT get your furniture from this store. I purchased a couch at the beginning of May. It’s the end of August and I’m STILL WAITING. No one is calling to update me or anything. At first I was being helped by Fred and he was great. When I returned later that week to buy it, Terri was called over by her manager to help us. I almost wanted to walk out of the store because of her. Really rude and pushy. When I told her I didn’t want to buy a mattress too, she responded with an attitude said “what do you mean?” and kept asking where I could possibly think I’d get a better deal. We had a credit card that qualified for a special promotion which would lower the interest for financing. We told her we’d like to use that card to take advantage of the promotion. She tried making us feel stupid and told us that it did not exist and an interest rate like that would never happen. After she disappeared for ~40 minutes to check with her manager, she came back and said that we could do it. No apology or anything for being so rude about it. She asked when I was moving and would need the furniture and I said ASAP. She asked when I needed to be out of the place I was living at the time which was July. So she apparently put “do not deliver until July” in the notes. She was dishonest to me when she told me 6-8 weeks which would make delivery mid to late June. When I called delivery department this morning, they told me that because Terri wrote July in the notes, they did not prioritize my order. They expected us to just sit on the floor I guess. Finally at the end of July after I called several times they delivered half of the couch. The other half is delayed once again to September. I only found out about this by calling. Absolutely no communication to me about delays on their end. I have to keep calling and calling when it’s not delivered on the date they told me the last time. Awful experience

I came in several months ago and Ty helped me out. He was great and very helpful. I picked out the Flynnter bedroom set. Unfortunately there was a wait time of 9-12 weeks. I made the purchase anyways and over the time period I received 2-3 calls from Ty himself saying that all parts were there except a part of the bed frame. After 11 weeks I got the call that my furniture was ready to be delivered except for the mirror on the dresser. In all the previous calls I was told the mirror was already in but now it won’t be ready until September. When the furniture was delivered all the furniture was covered in a thick black dust, I found damaged marks on my headboard, dresser in two locations, and one drawer of my footboard that is scratched and won’t close properly. I contacted Ashley customer service and they offered me $65 to keep the furniture as is and they will send someone out to fix my drawer. After asking a few questions they aren’t even responding to me anymore. It has been over a week and I’m still unsure what steps are being made to fix some of their mistakes. I paid thousands and waited 3 months just to get a portion of my delivery and most of it was damaged and all they offered me was $65? I will never step foot inside Ashley Furniture again. December 2024 Update: After contacting the email provided in the reply I was told that I denied the refund and that replacement parts were ordered. I provided pictures proving I never denied the refund. The only replacement parts I have received is one drawer which I had to repair myself. When my mirror was delivered I was inspecting the mirror before calling the number to confirm delivery when one of the delivery drivers grabbed my phone from the dresser and called the number. They then handed me the phone while one stood directly in front of me and one directly behind me while I answered the questions on the phone. I have received no replacement parts for the headboard or dresser and I of course have not received my $65 refund. This place is a scam.

Twice this year I have found myself in need of new furniture, and being an indecisive person who struggles with choice paralysis, I tried to go to every furniture store in town to try and find what it was I was looking for. Both times I ultimately decided to go with Ashley Furniture. As I said, I can be indecisive and have a hard time making a choice with larger purchases, such as furniture. It can be stressful to have a sales associate hanging by you as you look around a store, even if you have a pretty good idea of what it is you are looking for. When this happens I often feel bad about wasting the time of the associate, and I also feel bad about leaving if I have to think about my options. Every single employee that I interacted with was kind enough to give me space, occasionally check in with me within a reasonable timeframe, and point me in the right direction when I had specific wants/needs with the furniture I was looking for. Even when I would realize I wasn't going to be able to make a decision right then and there and would decide to leave, I never felt pressure from any of the associates to stay. During my multiple visits I had the pleasure of working with Tyler, Fred, Kiarrah and Cynthia, as well as a few associates who just checked in briefly without sharing their names. I'm also terrible with remembering names, so if I did forget to mention you and you know you helped me, I'm very sorry for not including you here! Everyone was patient, kind, and knowledgably about their products. If I asked a question that was a little tricky, no one tried to just make up an answer, and would consult their fellow employees to make sure I had the correct information. Not only does Ashley Furniture have an excellent selection, several of the other furniture stores in town are also carrying Ashley Furniture pieces on their showroom floors as well. I noticed both their neighbor Royal Furniture and both Spiller Furniture locations carried Ashley Furniture pieces, as well as I believe Jackie of All Trades. And I suspect that this is true for most of the other sellers in town with the exception of Haverty's. Full disclosure, during the 2008 recession I was employed by Haverty's at their distribution center/warehouse in Georgia, unloading furniture as it arrived from their various suppliers. I'm familiar with their suppliers (at least during that time), their standard of care when handling furniture, and their quality. Despite this familiarity, I still prefered working with Ashley Furniture. When you shop at Haverty's store here in town it's 50/50 on if you get a pushy sales associate or one that will give you space. As someone who prefers comfort over fashion, there's also a feeling of judgement from the sales associates who all seem to be taught to act posh in a way that makes the experience feel weird. Also their warranty seems pretty lacking. Speaking of which, as a pet owner, Ashley Furniture has one of the better warranty options that I have seen. While no one covers for scratches and bite marks, Ashley Furniture was one of the only furniture companies in town that offered certain coverages for pets that were specifically excluded by almost everyone else. Finally, they offer some of the quickest delivery times because their warehouse is in Bessemer. If the item you are ordering is in stock it can be at your house within a week's time, or if you have the means to pick it up you can potentially have it in your hands the same/next day. If I remember correctly, Spiller's warehouse is in Mississippi, Royal's warehouse is in Tennessee, and Haverty's warehouse is in Bessemer, Georgia next to the Mayfield Ice-cream factory. I didn't ask any of the other furniture stores about their delivery times, or warehouse locations.

Initially I had given a 5 star review. These people have THE WORST customer service. I had to change my order a bit and selected a different mattress. I was aware of the 10% fee associated with canceling the mattress (it had not yet been delivered or scheduled) but I didn’t complain. Just looked to cancel and purchase another option that I felt more comfortable with. That was about 2 weeks ago. Since that time the store manager, Chris, has done nothing but give me the run around. He would go as far as to call & notify me that he would calling back with an answer between or by a certain time frame and would just never call back. I would even call and the other employees would say things like “he still hasn’t called back?” or “I would feel the same way.” I have extended patience and grace because we are all human but it comes to a point where you realize you are just being lied to. Blatantly. The “recorded line” means nothing to him. I waited 3 days on an email he said he’d send which still was never sent. This went on for an entire week until finally I was told by Terri that I really just needed to come to the store and sign a new form. I went by as soon as I got off the same day and was told that they would send it for approval for the fly by delivery to be added to the ticket. I also paid another fee to have them pick up the mattress to go with the bed in addition to the other 10% I mentioned prior. Ashley’s scheduling department called to schedule my delivery & then they had to turn around and cancel it due to the store in Tuscaloosa failing to respond all day about the mattress I selected. Of course I was disappointed because I was looking forward to getting the furniture that I willingly dropped over $6k for. When I called Chris about this issue, instead of owning that they were holding up the delivery unnecessarily, he basically threatened to cancel the entire order. Very poor customer service.

I placed an order for a 5 piece dining set. PAID IN FULL on April 1, 2021. I was told my table was not in stock and to allow 8-12 weeks for delivery. I agreed! Fast Forward to now, on Mon. July 5th.. I called Ashley’s to get an update on my furniture. I haven’t heard nothing from them . No answer. I tried calling two more times before I left a message on the voicemail. I waited two days for a call back, nothing. So, on Thursday July 8th .. I attempted to call the store again. No answer, of course. So I called a corporate number that I got off google. After being on hold for 10-15 mins.. I speak to someone. I explained to the young lady that I would like to check on my order. She informed me that my table made it to the warehouse but has not been entered in the system yet, so she will not be able to give me a delivery date until after my order was placed in the system and then I will be placed in the order that my order was received. She told me to allow 3-5 business days and give them a call back. I explained to her that it was already hard getting someone on the phone this time, so why am I responsible for calling back.? Why can’t someone call me? By now, I’m frustrated so I asked how do I go about getting a refund? She said I would have to go in store for a refund. I informed her that that’s what I would do. I get in my truck and go to Ashley’s immediately. I get there and the guy at the desk (who seemed to not be very busy at all) seeing that I was literally the only customer in the store at the time. You would think he would answer the phone, that’s sitting at the desk but anyway I tell him I here for a refund on a purchase I made and haven’t received yet it. He entered my info in the system and told me that I would need to wait until next week to get my refund, so I can get my full amount back w/out a 10% charge. A 10% refund charge would be applied if I asked for refund before 12 weeks was up. So, confused a little.. I walk off, bc now it’s a customer behind me. I get to my truck and pull my calendar up. I made this purchase on April 1, 2021. Today is July 8, 2021. My calculations calculated exactly 14 weeks. So, I should be able to receive my full refund w/out the 10% fee today not next week. I went back in the store. Now the guy is waiting on another customer who is clearly upset just as well as me. She was telling the employee that she drove 40 miles to this store bc no one would answer the phone. And guess what else she said ? She said she have been waiting on her purchase for almost 4 months. The guy gives her a number out of Huntsville, so the lady stepped off and called the number and allowed him to assist me. I explained to him that I calculated 14 weeks since I placed my order . He tells me “I will go ahead and refund you” . Then he asked me “how did I pay?” Cash or Card? I replied cash. He said I will have to MAIL you a refund check. We don’t keep cash in the store. I’m thinking at this point, how do you all not keep cash in the store, and I paid in cash? So, he steps to the side to speak with another employee. So, now the other employee is talking to me and saying she’s about to give me a copy of my refund total amount for my check (receipt). She walks towards me and lay two papers on the counter and walk off. One of the papers was my receipt but the other receipt belong to the other upset customer who was there . This lady placed her order Mar.24th for a king size bedroom set. $4k! She put down a $2k deposit with a $2k balance left. So yea, they didn’t care nothing about our money. They treated us as if we aren’t good paying customers . It was horrible customer service! I want my money back and I will never buy anything else from here. Not to mention the county in my address was wrong on my receipt, so when I said something about it before I left .. I was told the county is correct in the system. So hopefully, that is true since I’m being mailed a check and was told by the lady to allow 10-20 days for my check to come. So I will do an update on how long it actually takes to get my refund.
