Dally helped us out and she was very nice to work with.

While the staff was amazing at helping me with my purchase in store, problems arose after delivery. My card with Synchrony got charged twice for the same items. I disputed this with the ashley card issuer and my case was closed and denied. I have redisputed the charges but I will NEVER shop with Ashley or use their card again. This has been a headache.

The delivery and sales people were great we love the quality of the couch . Our delivery came 4 hours late ..that was kind of frustrating . I don’t know why you book so many delivery’s in a day.

Yasmin was so sweet & so helpful we got a whole living room set with her and she did amazing with the selections as well as helping others while we kept looking around.

I went into Ashley Home Furnishings in El Cajon to look at and measure a loveseat recliner we found online. Steven approached with a friendly attitude and asked if I needed help. Even though I could see he was helping multiple customers he took The time to find me a tape measure, Move a couple pieces of furniture around for me so I can measure a particular configuration and then moved them back when I was done. I truly appreciated that level of customer service. I didn’t purchase that day, but when I went in on Black Friday to purchase I specifically asked for him because he was so helpful in my earlier visit. Purchasing was fast and easy and we were out the door in no time. We will definitely be back.

Went to El Cajon Ashley furniture today to find a recliner. We were helped by a lovely person, Dally. She was very informative, answered all our questions.She was very personable. My wife and I originally were going to Ashley’s, but we went to Bob’s discount furniture next door first. They greeted us, and ask us what we were looking for, and said enjoy searching. When we went to Ashley’s, nobody was in sight and when we were finally spotted, they told us about how they are “BIG on sleep” and gave us a paper. I was there for a couch but they didn’t know because they didn’t ask and just told us about how they are big on sleep. It was odd. I really Enjoy Ashley’s but this was an odd way to be greeted. You should Know what I am looking for before trying to sell something to me that I don’t have any interest in.

Every single time I purchase anything from Ashley's I regret it. There's always something. Some additional cost, some issue with paperwork or incorrect delivery. Its NEVER easy. I've had quicker less painful experiences buying cars than furniture here. Their ability to just take off a couple hundred bucks for something really makes me question how much that furniture is actually worth. I have NEVER had an easy or pleasant experience. With any sales person Ive experienced. Its ALWAYS something.

From purchase to delivery and setup, it was a pleasure doing business with this company. Our salesperson, Patience, provided the knowledge and insight needed for us to make an informed decision about the furniture we wanted. We wanted something that wasn’t in stock but she found it at another location and had it delivered to us. The delivery guys kept us updated and they were on time! The setup was fast and efficient and they were out the door fast. I’d definitely recommend!

Ashley furniture and their customer service lies about delivery to get you to buy it then they keep on delaying it. I’ve called customer service five times they tell me one thing then somebody else calls me and tells me another. So basically they tell you you get your delivery so that you purchased the furniture. I asked if it was in stock. They said yes. It was not. Never will I buy furniture again. Buyer beware!! 9/8/2025. Ashely did reply with a response via email with a new delivery date. That’s the problem. They told me it was in stock to make the sale…then they move the delivery date !!

Instead, my mother has been given the runaround. Multiple phone calls lead nowhere. Emails go unanswered. Each time she tries to follow up, she’s met with vague promises or redirected to someone else. It’s clear they’re hoping she’ll just give up and accept the damaged furniture at full price. This isn’t just about a nightstand—it’s about how you treat people. Especially elders who deserve respect and fair treatment. If you receive damaged goods from Ashley Furniture in El Cajon, be prepared to fight for a resolution. And sadly, you may find yourself ignored. We’re still waiting for a refund or replacement. When I walked into the store the woman at the entrance was very pushy. I walked away from her and ended up getting help from someone else later in the store. She came up to us and argue with my salesman that she had me first. He was very respectful but she was berating him right in front of me. He tried to bow out and let her take over. I declined. She got upset and walked away. Ever chance she could though she kept coming back and arguing with him again. It wasn't even his decision. She was just way too pushy and stressed me out the whole time.

The first thing entering the store, you can see some of the sales representative standing around in a circle and they are talking to each other about who can have it no, I don’t want it. You can have that one. Then before you even get out what you’re looking for you’re getting pressured into I need your name telephone number email in this iPad Then once you advise of what you want, they try to talk you out of what you want into something else as well as a mattress. I came for a couch, not a mattress. We ended up getting a few things from clearance and were told that the warehouse is only open Monday through Friday so if you need help putting it in your car, you’re gonna have to come Monday through Friday until 3 o’clock. They said the only thing that he could provide was a dolly not the muscle you need to provide that yourself. Came on the weekend with my brother to collect those items and I asked if they had something to tie up the trunk just in case if it was too big. And Toni advised me that if it doesn’t fit in the car, we don’t have anything to tie it with. You’re just gonna have to get a bigger car and shrugs his shoulder. No one really wants to help you unless they know that it’s going to be a high value purchase otherwise they just give you a skim and move onto others. This was not a great experience and I felt like they will tell you yes yes we can do this in the next thing you know it’s $100 more than it’s $200 more than it’s $200 more and then it’s another hundred dollars for delivery it’s crazy! Five out of 10 I do not recommend

Helped me out with purchasing a new queen bed after I had bought a king which turned out to be too much bed for me. Very helpful, professional and friendly.

Dally was very helpful to accommodate to my family’s needs our living room isn’t the biggest size but with telling her my measurements she was able to give me many options to choose from in seconds

Jasmin made our shopping experience for a Tempur-pedic mattress and a whole living room set lovely. It was nice not having a pushy sales person rather one who just informed, patient, and cared about the customer. My Husband and I needed a dining table sure enough I found it here online, but also found it at another store not nearby at a cheaper price. I was so grateful for Yasmin from the El Cajon furniture store who helped us as soon as we walked in through the doors. I’ll let her know what I wanted and she helped me right away through the whole process. She was able to price match with the competitors price, which I was so grateful. The process was so smooth and easy. Of course, I had many questions and concerns, and she answered them all for us. Can’t wait to receive my new dining table on Thursday. Very bad experience with the floor manager and sales person. I applied for the Ashley credit card, the manager told me to lie on the income section to put a different amount of what my earnings are in order for me to get quailified. Long story short , my son applied for credit an he was approved. 2nd issue we had, our complete set of sofa and love seat was not in store to see it. The sales person showed us a similiar they had in display. She convinced us of purchasing the one online. Prior to making the purchase we asked if item could be returned and, she said yes. We recieved the delivery. Sofa and love seat was not the same or near similiar they had at the store. Fake leather!!! we called the store and sure enough the sofas could not be returned . Please make sure, not to get fool by these crook associates and manager. Remember they get commission for everything they sell. Bad Bad experience.

I have been a loyal Ashley customer for a long time, but my recent experience at this location has been very disappointing. I purchased a sofa that was not on display, and when it arrived, it was much firmer than expected. I notified them the very day the sofa was delivered and contacted the store to ask about exchanging it not canceling but I was told that it was not possible. The salesperson had assured me that the sofa felt the same as one they had on the floor and told me that if there was any problem, I could simply exchange it. This turned out to be completely false. On top of that, the response from the staff was rude and unprofessional. It’s very clear they do not value or care about their customers here. I followed the proper procedure, yet the treatment I received was unacceptable. Because of this experience, I will no longer do business with Ashley. They need to improve their customer service and show more respect to loyal clients.

We came in looking specifically for a sectional couch with left facing chaise and loveseat, knew exactly the dimensions to meet and the styles we were looking for. We started walking on our own, and were greeted by a sales rep Patience. Ultimately, after a few interactions with her, we left the store and bought the couch from a competitor. Patience first approached us when we were looking at first model from our list. She told us the couches have removable fabric and can be washed (she just jumped in in the middle of the sentence, which is not what we were talking about at all, and to let her know if we have any questions). We greeted her nicely and went on with our viewing, because she just kinda wandered off awkwardly. Later, while talking about discrepancy of dimensions between store's featured configurations (110'') vs the pricing sheet (108''), in the middle of a sentence, Patience came in again to tell us that they offer financing on their couches. Out of the blue, no "how are we doing" or anything, just jumped with financing options. We politely told her we didn't ask (we were buying cash anyways and haven't even decided for a model yet) but instead had a question and wanted to know why the sizes differ between printed configuration and pricing sheets (again, we knew our dimensions to meet so it was important for us). Her answer to that was "oh yeah I guess this must be wrong". She wandered off again, and we went on with our viewing. When we finally lost patience (no pun intended), is when Patience approached us for the third time, again interrupting in the middle of the sentence when we're talking about specific couch dimensions, and said "I brought something for you to play with", bringing a little toy-setup for living room configurations. I asked her what am I supposed to do with it, to which she responded "I'm just trying to be nice", to then give an attitude face and wander off again to clearly talk about us to her coworkers. Who hired this person? On three separate occasions, she approached out of the blue with one sentence unrelated to either our conversation, stage of shopping or anything really, to then wander off and follow us throughout the store at a distance? Either stay with us and have a conversation like a human being, or let us shop alone, but why try to do an awkward interruption marathon? Then, when we actually had questions, she didn't have answers to them. What was the last straw is to treat us like children bringing "something to play with" when we already stated and showed that we're only looking for a sectional three two piece loveseat and chaise, or three piece with chaise, specifically between 100-120 inches long. How removed from reality does one have to be to think that bringing a living room configuration toy would in any way be helpful here? From a sales rep, expectation is to be helpful, knowledgable and then polite. Patience showed fake politeness, 0 knowledge and negative amount of helpfulness with her awkward interruptions. We happily ended the day buying a couch from a competitor, and laughed with their knowledgable sales rep about our lack of 'patience'. I don't usually write reviews but holy, this will remain a permanent memory of my interactions with sales reps, and not in a good way.

Charge me extra fees I didn’t need

Second time purchasing from this store. The first time was a bit frustrating but this time the experience and interaction was amazing. I worked with Fred, he was very relaxed and genuine. Allowed me to browse and roam freely but kept himself available to answer any questions I had a long the way (including price matching). Whew to shop and be treated like a person and not a sale is amazing ( I’m an experience type of gal). Thank you Fred! Moving on to the furniture, the only thing I didn’t really too much care for is the fact that there is not an option to take it home and schedule pick up (I’m also a save your money girlie)- so you’re forced with the option of paying for delivery. The sales leader, Robert I believe ensured I was i formed of what to expect and gave me amazing side customer service as well as what appeared to be training of Fred as well. It was a breath of fresh air to see a team interact to support each other. I will definitely be back after this experience. Thank you kindly.

Bought a $4500.00 couch and within 1 week one of the motors in the recliner quit working. It’s been almost 4months and multiple phone calls and the problem still hasn’t been resolved. I’ve purchased items from this store in the past and had no issues. After this is resolved I most likely will not be doing business with them again.

We purchased two bedroom sets, a complete living room set, and a beautiful kitchen table with six chairs. The quality of everything we bought was incredible. A huge shoutout to Faisal, Robert, and David for all their help. We spent about four hours exploring the store, and throughout it all, Faisal was especially patient, understanding, and went above and beyond to make sure we got exactly what we needed.

Ordered 2k in furniture. Items took about a month to arrive. Items arrived damaged and unusable. El Cajon Store referred me to customer service. Customer service is based in India. Customer service hung up on me while filing a claim. Haven't been able to get this resolved. Avoid Ashley's.

Just a heads up if you shop at Ashley furniture. We bought a dresser from the one at parkway plaza in El Cajon. We got the warranty and it broke after less than a year. We called in the warranty and someone came and said they would order the part and he would be back in 2 weeks. A month passed and we called and they said they had no record of a part being order and they forwarded to someone else and they would get back to us soon. 2 weeks past we called back and they said they would forward it to someone who could help again. We did this for 2 months. I sent emails, and phone calls and then I found out that a lot of people are having this same issue. They will scam you. There is a whole fb page about Ashley furniture Customer complaints just like mine. I have so much going on right now and this is so stressful. I am tired of living out of laundry baskets. You guys really screwed us!

Furniture was higher end than in other stores. Sales person tried to push for fabric warranty and set up delivery at exorbitant fees for our two power reclining couches with power headrests. We politely declined so she got her supervisor to push for the warranty and furniture set up. We remained polite but steadfast in our declination. They were definitely heavy handed and it was offensive. Although we liked the furniture, we almost walked out of the store. Ended up buying the furniture without the fabric warranty or set up fees (which would have added another $1,000 to the bill). It was delivered well packaged. My husband and I set it up in 1.5 hours. If you are a little bit handy, set up is no problem, much less of an issue than they told us but we had done the same set ups before and it’s never an issue. Don’t be bullied by the sales people.

I went into the store ready to purchase a coffee table and some other home decor and was treated very rude and ignored. I had to ask a sales associate about a piece of furniture that I seen online and he quickly informed me that the item wasn't available. I them asked for something similar and was brushed off!!! Couldn't believe it!!! I was so desperate for the item, I still looked around the store, not one person helped me. I ended up leaving and was shocked at the horrible customer service. There were 10 sales associates and not one was professional or nice. I was paying in cash too!!! What a waste. I will never go to this store again. I ended up purchasing from Amazon.

I’m just insulted with the business model for in store furniture shopping today - this is our 2nd Ashley store shop, both times the price tag was not only $150 more than the on line price, but then there’s the $100 delivery fee and then I’ll talk to my manager and maybe I can give you 10% off - it felt exactly like going to a car dealership. If we hadn’t started walking away, we would have paid over $200 more. I ended up saving exactly $8 under what I would have paid if I had bought on-line. Delivery was very smooth with great packing and service.

We went into the store in El Cajon on Jan 8th 2025 and bought my 81 year old Aunt a couch and matching chair. When the furniture arrived 2 weeks later than what Ashley said it would be delivered they did nor bring the right color chair.. First they said they would not change it because once a piece of furniture enters into a home they cannot take it back. My Aunt told the delivery people.that the chair was the wrong color and told them to take it back. The delivery people told her they had to deliver it and she needed to take this up with the store. I did and after a few hours on the phone with them they decided to pick the wrong chair up and deliber the right color chair a month later. When my Aunt fi ally received.the right color chair she noticed the delivery drivers did not take.the chair out if the box , there were mo tags on the chair and.it was worn like.it had been the floor model. We called Ashley and complained, they sent out an inspector who decided there was nothing wrong with the chair.and.they will not replace it. WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

In fact all four stores in the san diego area and the automated machine keeps sending me to the philippines and they are unable to connect to the store also. I got table today 1/14/25 , and love seat is promised for 1/23/25. Almost 2 months for us to get our last piece of furniture. Through the holidays we had a sofa and 6 dining chairs.

I purchased a dining table from Ashley Furniture around Thanksgiving, expecting all the pieces to be delivered together. In-store, I was assured it would arrive by December 31st. However, I recently received a call stating that delivery is now pushed to January 7th, with little notice or explanation. The lack of communication has been incredibly frustrating. I called customer service to ask about compensation for the inconvenience, and they directed me to the store. Unfortunately, the store never answers their phone, making it nearly impossible to resolve the issue. This delay has disrupted my holiday plans, as I was counting on having my dining table to serve dinner. If there had been better communication, I could have planned accordingly, but instead, I’m left feeling disappointed and undervalued as a customer. To make matters worse, this location already has multiple negative reviews on Yelp, and my experience aligns with many of the complaints. I will not be shopping at Ashley Furniture again and cannot recommend this store to others.

We came here one night to check out couches. Patience helped us and told us she would knock off in total $300 and that the pillows come with the couch which is great. Store was closing so she asked if we would like to come the next morning. We told her we would come the next morning so when we got there, we asked about the deal she offered us she said oh let me check ok it’s actually $100 off if you finance for 6 months. Fast forward to today, we got the couch delivered but no pillows. We messaged her and she called me saying that’s a misunderstanding pillows don’t come with that couch and I told her she told us it did. She kept saying it’s a misunderstanding but I told her it’s not a misunderstanding my husband and I heard you say that. please avoid coming here. They try to lie to sell things to you and then don’t like to make things right after they are caught in their lies. And to think I was going to purchase dressers and more furniture from them. Never doing business with Ashley’s furniture again.

This review is primarily for Elizabeth at the El Cajon store who got my warranty approved and I was finally able to replace my damaged couch after two months of getting the runaround from their extended warranty (Reguard) customer service line overseas. I called every week and got nothing except to wait and wait with zero updates. Finally decided to try to talk to someone at the store directly and Elizabeth helped me. I explained the situation, she called Reguard right then, and they told her it was approved. I could not believe it. It was only once I went into the store and did something about it that Reguard decides to approve my warranty and replace my couch. Could’ve been coincidence, but the lesson here is that Elizabeth is awesome, and avoid the extended warranty

Plz don’t spend your money here like I did, last year I spent $7,000 and my couch was $3.000. In only a few months I noticed it was not made well one end piece started sinking in. For this to happen in months of having is unacceptable and poorly made. After contacting them going back n forth with my protection plan that I only bought since the manager there made me feel bad if I didn’t buy it the salesperson would not get commission. So they said it’s a manufacture defect and Ashley had a salesperson come take a look and agreed I needed a new piece I even got a call from Ashley to confirm this. Days later they send an email saying they were not gonna give me a new piece. Very unprofessional and I was very upset and angry calling them complaining having to tell my story 10 times everytime I called. I asked to speak to a manager to help me with this and no one ever cared. Awful customer service and very poorly made sofa that I spend $3,000 on just that. I will never shop here again or recommend. For a company not to care and only care about selling you the furniture well it’s not my fault it’s a manufacture defect they should be the ones to help. Now I am stuck with a couch not even a year old that I am unhappy with.
