Great place and sales people

The sales people in that store suck, dry, unhelpful, lucky for me , I had one specific item in mind bought, it picked it up. I won't go back.

Bought a couch from this location and it was almost 2 months of frustration. I’ll start by saying that the staff at the location were very kind and the in person service was great. We went in on December 29th and purchased a couch that we were told wasn’t at the store at that moment and it was back order. We asked of the couch had a customization for the chaise to be on the opposite side of the display couch, which they said they did have at the warehouse and back order shouldn’t be a problem. Scheduled delivery was set for January 16th. We then get an email the week of that the delivery was canceled and to contact them if we would like to reschedule. Which was a questionable since the cancellation didn’t come from my part, (even requested day off of work to be present) and felt that the rescheduled dates and communication should’ve came from them, they should’ve provided new dates at that moment since they missed the agreed date. If they couldn’t keep their date what’s to say they would be able to fulfill a date from my part. After a week of no communication I called number and spoke to someone from a call center. Told them the situation they apologized and told me they could help. I did ask if I should contact the store directly and she said she could help with the issue. Told me she would request and expedited date from my couch to arrive and I would receive and email. Never got an email and no word until about 2 weeks ago that my couch would arrive Feb 27. For the actual delivery my wife was there. They dropped it off on time but the assembly of the sofa was a bad experience as well. They put it together, got the signature and left swiftly. The sofa seemed assembled but my wife said that they didn’t join any of it together, that they just put the pieces together against each other to give the look of assembly. We had to do the assembly ourselves and based on what we had to adjust and do it seems they installed the brackets wrong and since the couch was customized to the left side the had put them as if it was a right sided couch. Then they just gave up and put every part tightly together to make it seem like the job was finished but nothing was locked in or screwed and left. Overall it was an awful experience. Update 03/01/25 The sofa has to latches were the left side extends into a bed style. We tried it out for the first time today and it won’t come extend. If it could be a 0 rating at this point I would give it that.

Don’t ever trust there leasing/Acima process there 26 moth plans if your purchase is $1300 you en up paying $2600 they charge a monthly rental fee same as the payment payments are every 2 weeks honestly stay away from acima ask every question and record them so you can bring attention that they don’t disclose all the details

Our entire experience at Ashley Furniture in the City Hawthorne on Oceangate was fantastic! The customer care, service, attention to detail, patience and exemplary knowledge of the product far exceeded our expectations! Our Sales Consultant, Adam, was absolutely incredible! We came in to look at beds and recliners on our first day and he was so incredibly charming, made us feel like family members of Ashley's. We knew that we were coming back to give Adam an oustanding employee of Ashley's Furniture our business. We came back yesterday and he spent hours with my husband and I, making sure all of the customized and personalized selections and options were correct. The new manager Jackie assisted with all final decisions made everything so smooth and the prices at Ashley Furniture were great. Everyone come on by to Ashley Furniture were each customer is taken care of like V.I.P.

Easily the most disheartening, disgusting, and frustrating experience I’ve ever had in any store. We’ve been loyal Ashley customers for nearly 10 years—half our furniture is from Ashley, and we even have a Synchrony credit line through them (which we’ll now cancel). We went to Ashley on a Thursday and told them clearly that if our order couldn’t be delivered by Monday, we wouldn’t complete the purchase. Gabriel and Johnny assured us they’d request a rush delivery and confirmed it for the next day. The furniture arrived Friday—five items total—but one piece couldn’t be assembled due to a manufacturer defect. I called the store, explained everything to Latrice, and asked if they could redeliver just the defective desk the next day since we needed everything in place by Monday. She said no because there were no delivery slots and that removing one item dropped us below the minimum dollar amount for a “rush” delivery. She said Johnny (the store manager) would call between 1–2 p.m. He never did. All day I waited with my office torn apart. Every time I called, I got transferred to an overseas call center that couldn’t help. By 7 p.m. I finally reached Latrice again—she said Johnny would call before 9. He never called. The next day, still no call. My wife contacted the Culver City store, where we’d always had good experiences, and spoke with Scott, the regional manager. He had Phillip, the Hawthorne manager, call us. We explained everything again and asked either to cancel or to get 20% off for the repeated failures. Phillip said he’d talk to Scott and call back soon. He never did. Then Johnny called acting unaware of the situation and tried to blame others. He promised a call back within two hours—again, nothing. At that point, we’d had enough and called to cancel. Latrice answered again; we told her no one had followed up and to please cancel the order. A few hours later, we got a survey call asking how our delivery went—unreal. The next day another Ashley rep called asking when we wanted to reschedule the delivery, totally unaware we’d canceled. The following day, Allie from the Washington “resolution” department called. I explained the whole story. She acted concerned and claimed she’d escalate it but was clearly just trying to save the sale. She offered a 20% discount—the same thing we’d asked for earlier before being ignored. Against my better judgment, we agreed and canceled our other order elsewhere. After delivery, we decided to exchange one chair for another of equal value. The overseas rep said we could go to the store and pick a new one with store credit. He put me on hold for 27 minutes, checked in multiple times, then finally said it required approval. He promised to email and call back. Of course, he never did. I emailed Allie again about the exchange. Suddenly, she “couldn’t help” and told me to contact customer service. I followed up again—no reply. This has been by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever encountered—a complete breakdown at every level: false promises, zero accountability, ignored callbacks, and endless runarounds. We were long-time customers, but after this sickening experience, never again.

I would recommend going to a different Ashley. The people that work at this store have no idea what they’re doing and they NEVER answer the phone. They just want to promise anything to get the deal done. Well I’ll be the first to tell you, those promises are empty. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. I honestly can’t believe they would let these people run a store.

They don't help anyone, even if you have insurance or a one-year store warranty. We basically pay for the insurance, and the funny thing is, they don't even cover anything. I bought \$13,000 worth of furniture from the store manager, Johnny, and it was faulty from the very first day. I've been trying to get help from them, but they don't answer the phone, and the manager is never at the store. Then they give you another company's number, and those people give you another number, and then you just get tired of trying. I would tell all of you not to waste your money at Ashley; their company is a fraud—they say one thing and do another

I saw ads on the internet, so I visited this store. I was looking for bedroom furniture. I wasn't impressed with the store. It seemed to be a high-end store without high-end merchandise. Bedroom pieces were "a la carte". The salesman 'explained' that some people don't want the set, but prefer individual pieces. I understand that, but the pieces were expensive. Adding a bed, dresser, and nightstands could easily total as much as $4,000 - $5,000, when a 4 piece set elsewhere costs from $2,500-$3,000. At other stores, adding pieces individually was more expensive, but you had the option of getting the set and saving money. The furniture was not labeled. We came to the conclusion that the sofa was not leather because of the price that was shown. Nothing, nowhere, showed the material of any of the pieces, the type of wood or anything. I did see a stand-up mirror that I liked. Other than that, I wa s disappointed and totally unimpressed.

He left my wife and I alone when we were exploring, but was available to answer our questions with authority, knowledge and experience with furniture over two decades. He showed us bed frames and mattresses—from budget items to top of the line options. We settled on a pair with Adam’s assistance. We never felt pressured to buy. Instead, Adam offered us knowledge, options and Labor Day Sale discounts. He helped us put together a purchase based on our furniture needs and budget. In addition, Adam’s Sales Manager, Johnny Figueroa, was helpful as part of the sales team and helped facilitate the deal we secured. My husband and I walked in not sure how the experience would be. But we walked out with a beautiful couch that’s going to be delivered. We were approached by Adam, who was very helpful. He made us feel comfortable and was not pushy at all. We had a great experienced.

The furniture is fine but there are a few things to be careful about when shopping at the store. The staff will try to get you a higher price than you need to pay. The trick is to look up the item online and you'll find a price that is about 20% lower. Ask the staff to match it and they will. The purchase experience was also interesting.Doing it with the help of the staff took about five times as long as it would have taken me to just buy it using my phone. There is even a QR code on the price tag that will take you to the item on their website.

My experience today will sound similar to the many others here. I was hoping to have a good experience today but their poor business practices were obviously consistent with previous guests. The sales person was friendly and sounded like she was on our side, but problems came when the manager intervened. Once we found the dresser we liked, the sales rep offered us $50 off with her "special" coupon. Great, we thought. When I presented 2 gift cards totaling $150, they only offered to redeem one of the two. After questioning the reasons why behind this explanation we decided to continue the purchase. But when they pulled the $50 "special" offer, that's when I questioned their business practices and shared my disagreemen. The manager, who obviously doesnt realize and understand the difference between a discount and gift card, went on to say they could only honor the single gift card and not the special offer. I have never heard of this type of practice! Felt a bit like a bait-and-switch to me. No other business i am aware of conducts themselves this way! Nowhere on the gift card did it even say there were restrictions of any sort. Plus, on top, he said the gift cards are older and he normally doesn't honor such. Does he not understand the law stating gift cards do not expire in California?! I will definitely be filing a complaint with the BBB and the FTC because it feels like they are running deceptive business practices and do not understand the legality and difference between a gift card and discount offer. I would give zero stars if it was possible. Buyer beware if you still decide to shop here.

My wife and I were in the market for a new table lamp and possibly a recliner. We were assisted ably by Carolina and her supervisor Phillip, who offered a sweetener if the recliner was purchased today. This turned out to be good business sense, because we did, in fact, purchase a recliner and two table lamps. Carolina suggested the “white glove” delivery service. As we are older, we decided that we would purchase that as well.

Amazing Experience! Highly Recommend! I originally went in just looking for a dresser, but I ended up purchasing an entire bedroom set. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a kind gentleman named Aaron who pointed me in the right direction and showed me where the nicer sets were located. I like to take my time and browse, and I never felt rushed. Once I was ready, Johnny, the sales manager, stepped in to assist me. He was super helpful and knowledgeable. He even convinced me to go with the white set instead of the dark brown and I’m so glad he did! The whole process was smooth, and I’m very excited about my purchase. Only giving one star because of terrible customer service. Not one employee standing around greeted or asked if I needed any help when I came in the store or at least let me know someone will be with me shortly. I do give High Respect to.Sales Rep. (Jay) for coming over after he was done with a phone call and assisted me. This will be the only reason I will.consider coming back to purchase directly from Jay Only!!!! Our 2nd major purchase at Ashley Furniture on Ocean in Hawthorne. I was not able to get Desiree this time as she was busy with another customer , however there was a very nice lady that helped us out. I am in wheelchair so she was very patient with me. She was awesome. Love the selection. Will be posting my pictures after Aug 8th. I am so happy with furniture that will be delivered it feels like Christmas to me. Great staff ! Manager grt! I usually do not post on companies because of their employees. However, I had an encounter with one of your newest employees the other day. Her name is Carol, it seems that not only is she not happy but she bad mouths the company and also continues to say bad things about the previous door she worked at. I have been a customer of Ashley for quite some time but have never purchased actually and I was ready to purchase today. I don't like what people talk about politics saying that the other company discriminated against therapy course. You was Jewish and I know that as a fact could not be true with Ashley nor the management at her other store because I do frequently visit that store because of such a great atmosphere. When you go there. It's sad that that Ashley allows employees like this to work for them and because of her weight and everything else which I'm not criticizing you can see she is a very unhappy person. And she rambles on to point, I just wanted to leave and I don't think I'll come back to the store if she is still working there.

Disappointed and Frustrated with Ashley Furniture – Wouldn’t Recommend I spent nearly $8,000 on indoor and outdoor furniture from Ashley Furniture less than a year ago, expecting quality and durability. Unfortunately, what I received was far from that. The outdoor table, umbrella, and backyard furniture started showing signs of wear within months. The materials are clearly low quality—the pieces are falling apart and look worn out already. What’s even more frustrating is how quickly the value dropped. I feel like I could’ve gotten the same (or better) quality from a budget site like TEMU at a fraction of the cost. Don’t be fooled by the brand name or price tags—Ashley’s products were some of the cheapest, most disappointing purchases I’ve ever made. Total waste of money. I won’t be shopping here again, and I’d strongly caution others to think twice before doing so.

I just recently bought a new sofa for my den and a recliner for my living room from the Ashley Furniture in Hawthorne, Ca. I am the type of buyer who likes to look around before being assisted. I was greeted very nicely by Rico and he asked if he could assist me. I told him I just wanted to look and will let him know if I needed any assistance. I knew they would have the type of sofa I wanted it just would be a matter of finding the right color. So when I found the type of sofa I wanted I asked Rico if it came in the color I wanted. He took no time finding the sofa in the color I wanted. I also found the perfect recliner. He was very professional and helpful! I was contacted by Customer Care in a timely manner regarding confirming my delivery. My items were delivered on the day they promised. The delivery guys Rick & Pedro were awesome. The Customer Service I received from beginning to end from everyone at Ashley Furniture was great! I highly recommend you check out their location in Hawthorne if you are in the Los Angeles area! I promise you will not be disappointed! I definitely will go back there myself! I hope you found this review helpful!

Here’s an update so I left a one star about my dresser I Had ordered online and Ashley responded with we will be more glad to help you. We set up the shipping information. They said they were gonna send the parts I needed to me (I have the emails to prove it! )that was back in October Still have yet to receive the pieces I need so my dresser can be a dresser. Ashley kept telling me the small little pieces that I need for my dresser drawers to go into my dresser are on backorder Maybe I’ll get it next year 2026 ($200 down the drain) Lesson learned…Don’t order stuff from Ashley online because if it’s missing any parts chances are you’re not gonna get them and you’ll end up with a dresser that you can’t put together. Going into the store and buying stuff is fine because then you can take it back to the store If you have any problems. With an online order you are not allowed to go to the store and pick up the parts you need. You let me down Ashley, please do better.😭

Luckily, I was able to find one I really liked and Adam provided exceptional service to me as a customer. He answered all questions I had, walked me through the delivery options, and made me feel very comfortable with the whole process. He also didn't force anything on me, which is hard for sales reps to do. He provided all the information for me and made the decision of buying from Ashley very simple. The furniture arrived to my home the exact date that he said it would, bright and early, and the delivery service was very professional. Overall, I couldn't be happier as a customer with this store, especially with how Adam handled everything. I found the couch that I wanted and I went outside to my car to get my Ashley credit card and my car was gone the furniture store called the tow truck to take my car because it was trespassing like what…. I'm buying furniture. Also, when I walked in the guy who was welcoming people looked at me up and down as if I wasn’t gonna buy anything 👎👎👎thanks Ashley store I had to pay $400 to get my car just for 1 hour I was parked in the lot where I was buying something from you guys.

Save yourself the trouble and do not buy anything from here. It’s been a A disaster from the beginning. I purchased the couch online and then four days later. I was told that my order was canceled because the third-party who verifies your information couldn’t verify my banking information even though I did not purchase the couch with any banking information, I used a credit card. so I had to go in store and re-purchase the couch, pushing back my delivery date by a month, I use the same credit card that I used to purchase it online and everything went through. There’s zero reasonable explanation for the first one not going through. When my white couch was delivered, it was covered in dirt. I was told Customer Service would be contact me the next day regarding scheduling a technician to come out and try and clean it, it was almost a week before anyone got back to me. It took me contacting the person I bought the couch from, Victor sending him a formal message documenting all of the times I’ve reached out to him and Customer Service and not received a response And threatening to have them dispute the entire charge through my credit card company before I got a response. A week later they sent out a technician to try and clean it. It was not cleanable, so they sent me a replacement couch. That was also covered in dirt and the dust cover on the bottom was ripped off after receiving a VIP inspection. I’m unsure how this passed in the first place but not socked. I’ve now been waiting over five hours for the technician to come and try and clean the new couch, they are late outside of the window provided, I’ve received zero communication about when they will arrive. I spent thousands of dollars on this couch, I’ve also spent hours of my life contacting these people to try and get this couch delivered to me in the state that it should be originally. There’s no reasonable explanation as to why it is this difficult to get a couch delivered in pristine condition. Don’t buy anything from the store. It’s awful. It’s a waste of time. Go to Macy’s go to Wayfair go to Amazon go to any other place that sells furniture

We had to wait 2 weeks for the delivery of the table we didn’t want, then call them to come pick it up. Try getting to someone at the store who knew anything about picking up our table! And they wanted to charge us! Well finally, after many phone calls, they come to pick it up. Said it would take a week for our credit of $400 to come back to us! Nope!!kept calling. No one had any idea again. Well I finally contacted my Visa card and disputed the charge. They have not heard from Ashley and have 2 more days until the case is dropped and I keep my rightful credit amount. They are so sweet and accommodating when you walk in to buy, but then——-WATCH OUT. STAY AWAY.

I went into the store to make a purchase and right on the day of my delivery, I get a call stating that my mattress is on back order and don’t know when will it become available. We LOVED manny and his customer service and hospitality. He even knew about our little island of Tonga and its only reigning monarchy in the Pacific Island. That was cool since not most know where Tonga is even at hehehe. He educated us on the importance of sleep, a mattress and bed frame. We walked out with our hearts sold on the power based bed. I had to call to order the bolts and was told it would be 7-10 days. It has now been 3 weeks with my table in pieces on my dining room floor. I have tried to call the store multiple times, but they do not answer. I have no status update. I would have never ordered this table if I knew it would be over a month before I got to use it. I will update this review if they make things right in a timely manner.

This is due mainly because of Johnny. If not for him, we would not have made our purchase so decisively. He is friendly and attentive. He showed a genuine interest by offering to look at our apartment floor plans to pick items that match our style and budget. We even stayed beyond their opening hours.
