Beau in your San Marcos store greeted us upon arrival. We had never been into an Ashley Furniture Store before. We were looking for a couch and dining table and Beau was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He knows his stuff and the products on the floor. We enjoyed working with him very much and bought a couch and dining table from him. Beau also offered us promotions that you were running during holiday week and as two seniors we were happy to save a little money. We are waiting on white glove delivery around Jan 7th so can’t say much about that but hoping everything looks good there. Bad/weird experience here due to the salesman, Zach Frost. We were shopping for a couch for our home a week or so before Christmas and decided to go into Ashley to see if they had a couch that we had seen before, but we were open to a different one. They didn’t have the couch we were looking for, but we did see one that would have worked. I get that a lot of people might come in and not purchase anything, but Zach wasn’t really that attentive to us and initially walked away to “help someone else who is probably going to buy something”. That would have been fine, but his demeanor throughout was strange. At one point he abruptly left us to “go clock out for lunch”. We were looking at a couch seriously but it wasn’t a color we really wanted due to our carpet color at home. He told my wife “just get new carpet”, which is absurd. While looking at a different couch that had been sold already, he went into detail with us about how he was personally getting $450 for delivering it himself and made a point to let us know it was in cash and going to him directly, as if to brag about it to us? It was so awkward. At another point he was explaining the protection plan and made a point to say “bodily fluids” to us multiple times in relation to what would be covered under the plan. Finally, when we were asking about delivery dates and availability for the couch, the answers were vague and unhelpful. He said it wouldn’t be delivered until the end of January. Ultimately, we left and went to Mor Furniture a few doors down - we found the exact couch we wanted as soon as we walked in, were helped promptly, and had our new couch delivered by their team the next business day. Would recommend shopping at Mor Furniture.

Working with Lorna at the San Marcos Ashley store was such a wonderful experience. She was so professional and helpful. I would recommend all to check out the store.

My first time in the Ashley Showroom after viewing their products online. I purchased a chair in the store and checked the price match policy before placing the order as the store was closing soon. I went home and found the chair $50 cheaper from Ashley online. I took a screenshot to document what I found them contacted Ashley customer service that same week, but they didn't honor their price match. They wasted an hour of my time on the phone before denying my request. I tried again the following week when I saw it again on sale (and to give Ashley another chance to make this right), but again I was denied. I try to get the best deal when I make purchases so this was more on principle than the $50. If they had honored the price match, I had planned on making multiple additional purchases, but not after this. I'm actually shocked at how poor the customer service was in regards to this issue, so I will choose to take my business eelsewhere. I can't speak to the quality of the furniture yet as I haven't used the chair yet.

Great salesperson. Terrible experience after. False promises with delivery dates. Customer service is overseas. Delivery people leave trash and don’t provide white glove service. Will NEVER buy from this company again.

The sales person, Nicole was great! Very patient, kind and friendly. The furniture we purchased was to available to be delivered for about 3 weeks and it was very frustrating to us. The drivers (once they deivered) was very efficient and did a good job. They seemed very rushed and didn't really wait around for me to inspect the furniture before they left,

We reviewed the item (couch) online. Visited the Ashley location and made the purchase in less than 10 minutes👍🏼. Set a delivery schedule and later pulled the date in (perfect). We received excellent service from both Nicole and Robert Melendez in her absence. They were both generous with their time and patience and showed us items in the showroom as well as online until we found exactly what we were looking for.

Ordered a rug in store. Paid in full. It was promised to be delivered next day via Fed Ex. I asked for a tracking number and was told that it would be sent with the receipt to my email. I received the receipt but no tracking. I called at least 4 times thru the day and could not get in touch with the store. I could only reach a call center and they kept telling me that they can't do anything and that my item isn't even in a warehouse so they can't tell me when it will be delivered. I asked for a full refund and they said that they could put in a ticket and I would be contacted by someone in FOUR days! I found the same item on Amazon and I received a delivery tracking number with details about my order. Disappointing! Ashley has a huge store full of friendly and eager employees and provides a nice space to see and touch items before purchasing, which I totally appreciate! Then, dropped the ball on the back end! Thumbs down.

Great service without being pushy or following you around the store like other places.

Please read before considering purchasing from Ashley Furniture. My wife and I purchased a $3,000 dining room table for our first home from Ashley Furniture one month before moving in. We had the dining room set delivered and professionally assembled by the Ashley Furniture team. The assembly crew severely damaged the backrest of one of the chairs, leaving a 2-inch by 4-inch chunk of wood missing, and hid the damage by placing that specific chair against a wall. We also found that the connecting bar that holds the table together was never attached because it was broken during assembly. We immediately submitted a claim, and a technician was sent out to inspect the damages. He documented everything and ordered the part and a new chair backing. When the replacement parts arrived, the second technician told us the wrong parts were ordered, including the wrong chair back. He then reordered what he claimed were the correct parts and said they would arrive shortly. Weeks later, we still have not received anything, even though we were told the repair would happen within a few days. We have now spent over four hours on the phone with customer service trying to get this resolved. We planned a large holiday/housewarming party two months in advance expecting the furniture to be ready, and Ashley Furniture still hasn’t resolved the issue. Two weeks ago, customer service told us they would replace the entire dining room set because of the inconvenience, but they have not sent a case number or given us a delivery date. We were diligent in reporting the issues the day the furniture was delivered and have stayed in constant contact, but Ashley has been incredibly difficult to work with and unable to provide what should be a simple resolution. If you’ve made it this far, please take all of this into consideration before spending thousands of dollars with Ashley Furniture. Learn from our experience and take your business elsewhere.

Bad customer service

So I bought my couches 8 yrs and loved them but I was time to remodel and upgrade so we went with Ashley furniture again and love are new couches..

Beau helped us furnish the whole house. He was great authentic friendly, and had some great ideas.

I had never purchased from Ashley’s before. I was waited on right away, but wanted to look around for awhile. When I was ready, Richard was right there and showed me what I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I purchased two accent chairs. I hope the delivery process goes as smoothly.

Their products may be great. But customer service and delivery of their items is awful. I ordered 3 cabinets for my home. After talking to their electronic text robot all day they still delivered at the wrong time. I was running a zoom meeting and couldn’t open the door. The delivery guys decided to ring my door bell and knock on the door so loudly I thought they were going to knock the door down. After the order got rescheduled again. The order came with one super scratched cabinet, and one broken door cabinet. I kept the broken door one. Cause they said someone will be in contact with me to fix the door. Well still no one has fixed it. And today the next cabinet was supposed to arrive and they just cancelled on me. When I called their number they said it has not arrived from the larger warehouse. Well great customer service would have told me that yesterday. Not the day before Thanksgiving. 2 weeks later and I’m still missing a cabinet and my one cabinet has a broken door. If you are not ready to spend hours of your time talking to a robot not getting any real progress. Ashley is perfect for you. If you want your furniture delivered on time with great customer service. DON’T buy through them. I was super excited about my purchases. And now I’ve completely regretted it. This headache was not worth it. I should have taken my money somewhere else.

I was quite impressed with the entire Ashley Furniture experience. We had great help picking out our sofa sleeper at the store and delivery was a breeze three days later. The delivery men were nice but efficient. Great experience overall Z

This is the last time I purchase from Ashley. My husband and I purchased a bedroom set from Ashley over the summer. It is literally the lowest quality furniture I’ve ever bought in my life. The entirety of the bedroom set is made from particle board. And very poor quality particle board, with a facade. Better quality furniture can be found at Walmart! When it was delivered it looked fine and the set itself, the facade is beautiful. But after a couple of days I noticed that both night stands and the dresser have pieces of the facade lifting up from the particle board along the bottom of the furniture. Of course Ashley only provides 3 days to report any issue with the furniture so I’ll have to make a claim on the overpriced insurance and I doubt they will cover it. We paid for delivery and installation but I had to install the “wireless chargers” that went in to the nightstand myself. They don’t work because there is no hardware to hold the charger snug up against the bottom of the tabletop so gravity always wins and they simply fall out. Either very poor design or missing hardware. But here’s the kicker: I didn’t put anything into the dresser until a few months after it was delivered so I had not opened the bottom drawers. When I did, one drawer fell off the runners. Turns out the entire front left side was completely broken on the inside- like not attached to the outer side panel. I can’t imagine the delivery people didn’t know this but they failed to say anything. Also, the dresser’s legs are not permanently attached, they are removable and if you try to move the dresser at all, they will fall off. Now, because it’s been more than 3 days from the delivery, they won’t replace the POS dresser, they just sent a technician to come “fix” it. The reality is that it will most likely be trash once we have to move because it’s unlikely it will last a move if it didn’t hold up to being brought here from their warehouse. Words can’t explain the disappointment. I will NEVER purchase from Ashley again. And the 3 days to report a problem is a total scam.

When I ordered the end tables, the sales person said that they have the items in there warehouse and I will receive it within 5-7 days. I didn’t receive the items and I called Ashely Furniture and they said that the item is back ordered and they do not know when they will have that there warehouse. Finally 3 weeks later I receive the item and there is a broken part. Very bad buying experience.

Good and professional service and friendly. Nice quality for price. I asked alot of questions. The only thing I dont like is the price changes constantly and you have to know what offers sre online and ask for the best price. Delivery was excellent and quick.

I was given a time window and didn’t receive my furniture until 4 hours passed . I wasn’t even given a courtesy call or text.

Purchasing in store was easy but the delivery window doesn’t mean anything. Showed up almost 4 hours after the window ended at 9pm. Set up was quick and they were apologetic about being late.

Pleasant transaction with Richard

We are still working to resolve the delivery of a chair we purchased. The first chair was delivered unwrapped and dirty, black prints on the chair. The replacement arrived with a manufacture defect. Two technicians have come to our home only to confirm there is nothing they can do it is a manufactured issue. Visited the store in person and told we would get help with escalation. Now we are told the chair is not eligible for a return, so a third chair is going to be delivered! This is a warning to anyone shopping at Ashley, the pieces you are being presented on the floor may not match the quality of what is being delivered and the delivery service you are charged is terrible. You will be sold and stuck with poor quality furniture. I am still waiting for a call back from Richard Hall the store manager as of 10/28/25.

They make a mistake with the transaction and refund takes for ever so complicated I don't understand why is

We bought a great sofa from Ashley. Then we decided to look at mattresses. There was a lot to choose from. The one we thought was firm enough wasn't. They did replace it. So we went back to the store and picked out one that was quite a bit firmer. The mattress arrived rolled up .I wanted to return it but the driver assured me that was standard procedure. We'll I sleeped on the bed for a week and it it wasn't the same firmness as the one in the showroom. I called Ashley and I really got the run around talking to employees that spoke some other dialect that I could not understand. That's the last I heard from anyone. So bottom line am stuck with a 1080 dollar mattress that is not the same as the mattress we picked out. It's like the food on TV looks better than that same food in the restaurant. Good luck with your new mattress!

Sale was easy, found exactly what we were looking for and delivery went without a hitch!

Lots of variety and good prices and payment options

They don’t care about military or the fact that we have to move around all the time. One simple question about the couch I bought and they gave me the run around. No manager is busy, customer service is not in.

I bought a couch from here, and they lied about having it in stock and will be “on the next truck Sept 21”. I called the warehouse today to check the status of my order and they said they don’t have it in stock, don’t know when they will, and it’s currently not scheduled for delivery. It’s frustrating because there was another couch we were also interested in, and would’ve just gone with that one had we known this one wasn’t even in stock. Avoid.

Salesperson flat-out lied about 'free' delivery: After telling us that there was no charge, we asked for a itemized receipt after the numbers didn't add up, and found a $499.00 fee... When asked, the salesperson said that delivery was handled by a 3rd party, and they can't waive the fee, and had no idea where we came up with the idea that they could (both my wife and I heard her answer a direct question - 'Is there a delivery charge?', and we also heard another salesman offer free delivery to another customer). Also, there was an aggressive up-sell of $900.00 extended warranty for a leather sectional that covers 'everything' - but we've come to find out it doesn't include cracking or fading of the leather, and that it's extremely difficult to actually get a claim approved. I would highly suggest you think twice and read other reviews before doing business with this company.

I purchased nearly $7,500 worth of family room furniture. Be aware, they appear to have outsourced their customer service and all those folks know how to do is to follow the script. They are unable to think outside of the box. I went round and round with the salesman and store manager to attempt to resolve my issue, to no avail. I was finally able to reach someone who was actually able to think and realized that a photo of my sofa was not required to fix the issue. They finally sent out a service person who made a simple adjustment to resolve the problem. I am so sorry I ever did business with Ashley Furniture. I would much rather have spent more with a company who appreciated my business.

Being a holiday weekend the store was very busy. I was greeted quickly and asked what I was looking for. That person called for someone to assist me and after a few minutes someone came, answered one question, said he’d be right back, never to be seen again. After a 15 minute wait I went to the counter and asked for assistance and the checkout person did as much as possible but was not able to complete my question for my purchase. Finally found someone to help me and again had to wait to complete my purchase. Sadly I do have to wait an extra day for delivery but hope it will work out. Long process for a one item purchase that I couldn’t even see in the store.

I went in to purchase a chair that I had seen a couple months ago and asked for the salesman that had helped me the first time. He was off today but I was helped by another salesperson that was very nice and helpful. She split the sale with the original salesman I had spoken with. All in all a very pleasant experience!

I went to some other furniture stores, but found that Ashli had the best selection and it appeared that everything was of a higher quality. We ended up buying a Beautiful sofa that just went on clearance today and I got it for more than half off. Super high-quality fabric and even had down feathers in part of the cushions. The staff was super helpful and we couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait to get rid of the Old sofa and put in this new one.

Needs soft close hardware as an option

Ashleys is horrible! Do not go there! I'm still waiting for a 4 piece sectional to be picked up and it's been 2 weeks! $2800 dollar purchase. NO customer service what so ever. Still no one has called to schedule a pick up! I can't even use my living room. I wish I never went to Ashley's! Living Spaces is way better and actually has xustomer service and fast return pick ups.

I walked in and was greeted by the smell of popcorn. Kelly was our sales person, and she was very kind and caring and not very pushy which I appreciate it very much. She was able to show me everything. I wanted to see spent as much time as I needed and then walk me through the purchase of my new electric heated massaging recliner loveseat. Set up delivery and took care of payment and everything very timely and easily. The rest of this review should go to the manager only. But I’m not sure how to do that so here goes. I gave Ashley a 5 star rating as my experience was great However, I was very lucky that Kelly was our sales person because there was another woman sales person at the store on Saturday around noon as well who just sat at a table near the popcorn area on her phone and when a customer came in the front door she “claimed” them as hers yet she continued to sit at the table Using her phone. When Kelly got up to go to the front she about had an extraordinary because it was her customer and not Kelly’s. First of all, nobody’s customer is nobody’s. I don’t care if you work on commission. And to be so rude to another fellow employee because you’re too busy on your phone to get up and go assist your customer. Get over it let Kelley do a good job and do the job that you don’t want to do. Secondly, don’t do it near customers who are in the store. That is a poor example on his own of Customer service. I should not have had to witness her bad behavior towards another employee and her bad behavior of not getting up right away and going to assist a customer or potential customer.

Had a great first time shopping experience at Ashley’s today with my fiancé. We only ended up getting a bed frame, but we’ll absolutely be back for more furniture!

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I felt this one needed to be shared. Over the past few months, my wife, brother, and I furnished our brand-new home almost entirely through Ashley — totaling $25,000 to $30,000 in purchases, all on my cards. So I’d like to think we’ve been loyal, high-value customers. But this latest experience has been frustrating enough to make me rethink ever buying from Ashley again. Nobody responds to my inquiry my bed is 3 feet high. We ordered a faux leather bed frame, and three major issues made it completely unusable: 1. Overwhelming Chemical Smell: The faux leather emits a strong odor that hasn’t faded since delivery. Even guests in our home comment on it — it’s that noticeable. 2. Uneven Frame: Once we placed the mattress on top, the entire bed sat noticeably lopsided. It’s very clearly off-balance. 3. Extreme Height: In-store, the bed seemed like a normal height. But once assembled with the recommended box spring, it’s so tall I almost need a ladder to get into it. It’s totally impractical. I reached out to Ashley support with photos and a detailed explanation, requesting a return and pick-up. I was polite, respectful, and even acknowledged their policies — I just asked for a one-time exception given the circumstances and how much we’ve spent with them. Instead of help, I got the usual runaround: “We’ll send a tech,” “Let’s open a claim,” etc. The issue is obvious from the photos, and I’ve made it clear that I work long hours and can’t accommodate technicians coming in and out. Still, no resolution. At this point, the mattress is in another room. The bed sits unused because of the odor, the height, and the frame issues. If you’re spending real money with Ashley, just know: once they have your payment, good luck getting any meaningful customer support — even if you’re a repeat buyer. I really hoped for better, especially after spending so much with them.

Ashley Furniture has a great selection of stylish and affordable pieces, but the shopping experience could be better. The staff was overly attentive—following me around the entire time, which made it hard to browse comfortably. A little space to breathe and look around would go a long way. I’d suggest letting customers explore on their own and coming to you when we have questions.

To future customers: Do not buy from this store unless you want to have a horrible experience. My wife and I recently purchased from the store and have had nothing but a huge headache from start to finish. This will be a lengthy review so please bear with me. 1. In-store experience: During our in-store walk-through the service agent who initially took down and wants and needs was called away in the middle of the walk-through to attend another shopper’s needs. (We should’ve ran from this store right then and there) so we had to re-explain our requirements again to another service agent. This is unacceptable as it seems the store puts its interest in what they believe will make them money and not the customer experience. 2. Back order item: I’d ask if any of the items you’re interested in are in a back order status. We bought a rug to complete our living space area and we’re not notified the item was in a back order status during the purchase. We were notified about the back order status the DAY BEFORE our scheduled delivery date. 3. Damaged Furniture process: during the delivery process a piece of our sectional was damaged, it was apparent a forklift poked right through it because of the type of tear and damage to the structural wood. At some point this should’ve been caught by quality control. But nevertheless this item was delivered to us, the customers, and were asked if we wanted to accept two out of the three pieces. I advised you guys not to make the same mistake I did and take the delivery team’s advice of accepting a partial delivery. Here is why, you would think that a multi-billion dollar company would have some sort of immediate response team for damaged furniture on delivery days with an automated system that notifies the warehouse about the situation. But they don’t, Ashley’s Furniture store forces you to wait for THEIR system to update, at the end of the day once the damaged item is back to the warehouse, after the delivery team is done with their route. They will not rescheduled your delivery until the system has been updated, at best you’ll get a text the following morning with a new delivery date that best accommodates Ashley’s Furniture store and not yours. Our initial delivery date was on 6/13, we now have a partial couch sitting in our living room with the last piece “scheduled” for 6/18. 4. Customer Care Center: we spoke multiple customer care representatives and expressed our horrible experience thus far and all their reactions are the same. They give you a nonchalant apology and tell you they cannot do anything about your specific situation. They also try to emphasize that every situation is different: this is a furniture delivery store, how has this company not realized that damaged furniture will be delivered and that they need a better system in place to meet the CUSTOMER’s REQUIREMENTS. Also, I called the San Marcos Ashley’s Store in an attempt to get scheduled through them for the following day (6/14) and was told someone from the store was to call back on whether or not that was possible. I called at 11 am, again at 2 pm and then at 7pm, the last two calls were met with a great amount of attitude and my last call was rudely ended when the agent on the phone hung up on me. If I could give this store negative stars I would. I will never buy from Ashley’s Furniture store again.

Horrible horrible store… spent over $5000 dollars total at this store just for a my couch to visibly come damaged with a big hole from a forklift. There return policy sucks since I left part of my couch here there is no returns. My rug that I bought is on back order. My extra couch piece is not coming for another week “ supposedly” all this money I spent I want my money back. There customer service blows and no one can solve your issue. Please Please no one buy from this store.

I gave called customer care 6 times and still have no answers. I have been told multiple times that I would be called back 48-72 hours. No product. No phone call. No customer service

My sales representative, Joseph Sanderson, could not have been more helpful. Once I explained to him what I was looking for, he took me to view the dinning room chairs that I had in mind; as if he had read my mind. It’s the fastest and most satisfying shopping experience I have had; leaving me time to enjoy the rest of my Saturday. It takes a good listener to be an awesome salesman; and that he is!

I ordered a modular set of furniture with the expectation that it would be delivered on the timeline they said it would. Delivery day comes and they have sent delivery drivers that were unable to get on base due to not having the proper identification after the salesman had been informed multiple times it would be an on base delivery. I was told they do this all the time and it wouldn’t be an issue. After blowing up my phone because we weren’t fast enough to respond to the drivers and the member at the store that called while we were finally on the phone with the delivery drivers, they were unable to deliver. The next soonest date after planning around the delivery was the following week after the purchase. I have now called the store which has poor customer service saying there wasn’t anything they could do besides reschedule and give us half of the delivery fee ($100) back on a $2000 couch we ordered and we’re guaranteed there would be no issues. After this big miss on the delivery, the customer service and the measly $100 off a product costing 20 times that, I’d highly recommend thinking about going somewhere else for furniture.

We went there for a rug for our living room and they were super helpful. We have also been wondering about changing our mattress and weren’t sure what to choose and they helped us choose the firmness and what type would work for the both of us. Super happy with going there and can’t wait to get our rug and pillow from them.

First off I want to say my salesman John was a very kind man. The delivery men were great. I had people at my home during the delivery, and they all commented on the left upper cushion was a different shade. I really liked everything about the sofa except the color distortion. Ashley sent out Shane, and he agreed , and ordered another piece of leather. He came back the next week, and redid the cushion. He agreed with me a second time that the color was off. We moved the couch around and it still looked off. Ashley was going to call me back, and didn't. I called, and was told they were going to send someone for another opinion. That person came today, and told me the color isn't off. Well the color is off. The right 2 cushions are more gray, and the left is more blue. 4/16/25 In response to your response tell me what good it would do to complain any further as I've been told by custumer service, and adamantly by the last guy here that you don't take back furniture.

To future consumers planning to purchase furniture for their homes, I strongly advise against Ashley StoreHome. I personally experienced significant issues with their company and would not recommend them. While customer service in the store may be satisfactory, once you make a purchase, you become a stranger to them and are treated as disposable. Store employees are trained to manipulate their words and avoid taking responsibility for the items they sell. After filing a claim, they can only schedule time frames by day, not by hour, and you must be available to meet them. They may agree to a time window, but they may not follow through on their promises. When a technician visits your home to inspect the faulty item, they may provide a different explanation than what they told you in person. They may also input their feedback differently from what they said to you. I attempted to resolve the issue at the store level, but the manager never responded to my calls and ignored my concerns. In this situation, I am left with a faulty recliner that does not recline straight. As per Ashley HomeStore, the recliner meets their standards, so they are unable to provide any solution. Additionally, the display items in the store are not the same as the products you will receive, as they are lower quality. Therefore, it is crucial to be vigilant and aware of potential scams.

Delivery was on time but our cabinet was missing the dowel rods that hold up the shelves; have to wait several days for that part. Update 1 week later - the parts that had to be ordered didn't arrive in time for the original appointment on Friday 3/28 - they are arriving next Monday. I called to reschedule the service appointment, and they were only able to schedule the day, but not the time on that day. Overall not a good experience at all with Ashley service.

Horrible experience. First they try to con you into getting their credit card without telling that is what's happening.....really crooked. Then they deliver furniture that I paid over $4,000 and it's defective. 3 of the 6 chairs are crooked and rock from corner to corner as well as the 2 night tables. They send some guy out who bangs the legs into place. I should have returned everything but it would be too much of a hassle. This company sucks and will never go there. I will also tell everyone how terrible they are.

They pulled a bait and switch on me… I walked in and was talking with one of the sales reps. They asked me where I lived and what I did for work… I then found an awesome couch that I wanted on clearance but had to go to a filming and told them I would come back to get the couch the very next day. When I went back to pick up the couch, the clearance tag was somehow then removed and they told me all of a sudden it was full price. Seems very weird that they asked me where I lived and what my job was. I made a mistake in letting them know how much I love the couch. I did not know that they would be so dishonest and never in my life. Have I seen a clearance item go from basically needing to be sold as is to back to full price… The sales rep told me he had never seen that in his years at the store either. Very dishonest practice. I needed to charge my vehicle and was behind their store about a month later so out of curiosity went back in and they had the same couch sitting there on the floor lol #Karma

Unacceptable experience and will never buy another item from this company again. Lack of commitment on delivery and customer service from abroad is useless, they have no clue to the actual status of your order. Purchased a sofa on November 16, with assurance that it was in stock and would be delivered on December 10th. Got the confirmation, got rid of my old sofa to have room for the new one and within 48 hours the postponed the delivery to Dec 26. And again, 48 hrs prior to the delivery, it got postponed to Jan 3. Got an email confirmation on Monday confirming the delivery and we spoke with the customer service agent yesterday assuring me that the delivery was on schedule and that we would get and email and text confirming the 4hr delivery window. This morning we received a voicemail which I could BARELY UNDERSTAND indicating to call customer service. Again the delivery has been postponed for next week. They are “expecting” the item to arrive to the warehouse on the 6th, yet they can’t confirm delivery date. Unacceptable doesn’t begin to describe their service.

Complaint Regarding Sofa Sleeper Purchase and Customer Service Experience Dear Ashley Furniture, I am frustrated and disappointed with my recent attempt to buy a sofa sleeper. As a long-time customer of Ashley Furniture, I expected better service. I've spent thousands of dollars with Ashley. In this particular case, it was an urgent situation. On December 19, I began calling the Colton location. I wanted to buy and deliver a sofa sleeper for my cabin in Big Bear, California. I called several times during business hours. But, I couldn't reach anyone at the store. Instead, I was routed to Ashley's new AI call operator. It failed to assist me and transferred me to an overseas call center. The call center could not reach the Colton store either. They claimed to have emailed someone for call back. I never received a call back. I urgently needed this sofa sleeper for my vacation rental. It's fully booked for Christmas at over $2,000 a night. So, I resumed calling the next day, Friday, December 20. After hours of repeated attempts, I finally managed to reach a salesperson, Steven. He told me that, due to the holiday schedule, delivery to Big Bear would not be possible in time. It normally occurs every Saturday. Instead, he suggested I arrange a pickup from the warehouse. To facilitate this, I found a handyman willing to drive to Colton and transport the sofa to Big Bear. When I asked Steve if I could pay for the sofa over the phone to expedite the process, he said it was not allowed. I also could not order the sofa for pickup online. He assured me there were nine sofas in stock at the warehouse and, that ordering for pickup would not be an issue. I asked if I could buy one from another Ashley location closer to me. He said that would be OK. I told him I felt bad because he wouldn't be earning the commissions. I would've gladly ordered it over the phone with him if that was an option. Trusting this info, I drove to the San Marcos store to buy the sofa. I live in Carlsbad. The staff at the San Marcos location processed my purchase. They also gave me a phone number to arrange a pickup. After hours of trying to reach someone, I was told I could not pick up the sofa the next day. That's even though both the Colton and, San Marcos salespeople had assured me it was possible. I had made them aware of the urgency of my situation. The warehouse blamed the store for selling me the sofa without confirming pickup. The warehouse said they had sent the store an email letting them know next day pick up was not available. The San Marcos store showed me emails from the warehouse. They indicated only that same-day pickup was unavailable. There was no mention of next day pick up being unavailable. Neither side took blame for the miscommunication. I needed a sofa for my guests. I spent days trying to get it and had already paid. But, I was left without it. If I had been told that next-day pickup was not possible, I would not have bought it. I would not have wasted time trying to fix this issue. I must now find a solution for my guests. They expect a fully functional bed at the busiest, most expensive time of year. This whole experience has been unacceptable. I could not reach the Colton location, San Marcos or the warehouse by phone. Your staff and warehouse gave me conflicting information. Ashley Furniture's misrepresentation and customer service was atrocious. I request an explanation for this debacle. Also, please resolve it by improving communication between your stores and warehouses. Additionally, I would like to know what Ashley Furniture will do to make this right. The significant inconvenience and stress this situation caused was unacceptable. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Sincerely, John Yakubik

Really appreciated being greeted at the door and asked what we were looking for, but not in a pressured kind of way. Lorna assisted us and showed us several options for the specific bed frame needs of our elderly relative. She was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the beds that we looked at. She scheduled a delivery for us and took care to explain the warranty information, white glove installation service, and who to call if we had a problem. After experiencing frustration in trying to find the "right bed" frame both online and in other furniture stores, we were really pleased with how easy and smoothly our visit and purchase went at the Ashley, San Marcos store.

Hi guys, l would appreciate honest clear answers when dealing with the sales people. I ask about the extended warranty answers around 200 when he new that size couch would be over 400. I ask about delivery time he said 10 days but when we got there it was over 30 days. On the phone they told us this week free delivery never mentioned you had to buy the extended warranty. We understand you want to get us in the store but please don't try to trick us. It makes you look bad. This is the top reason why all our friends by on thr internet . To be honest we would have purchased it from the internet but they were out of stock. You got lucky this time

We were greeted by Lorna who introduced herself, asked what we were looking fo, explained the layout & indicated we should look around & let her know if we had questions. Once we let her know what we were looking for, she took us over to the bedding section. A brief rundown was provided & she asked if we had questions. Lorna was extremely helpful pointing out what we should check on our current bed. She quickly showed us options on her tablet. We also looked at sofas and chairs. Once again Lorna was quick to provide options and additional information. The last thing we looked at was dining sets. She looked at the styles we were attracted to and pointed out similar options. She is a fabulous sales associate; very helpful without being pushy. We will deal with her again.

Update: over a month later. Same issues. 3 delivery appointments but still no actual product or attempt. Filed a claim with BBB. Absolutely ridiculous how this company operates. Local "managers" actually do nothing to help. Just repeat the same thing over and over. They always tell me their boss is not available. I ask them to have him call me to resolve, nothing! Shows you how much they care after you pay them. Stay away if possible. Going on 6 or so weeks of trying to get a warranty claim for delivered damaged products. Not to mention sales will say anything to sell us the couch then to find out on delivery that's not correct information. Talked to 3 store managers, overseas call center, and onsite technician that they had to and keep wanting to send out 2 more times. Nightmare for two couches that seemed to have cuts from box knives on delivery when unboxed. I tried calling the sales guy but the number on his card goes to the call center. Horrible that it's so hard to talk with someone locally. Almost drove all the way down there until I had to ask over and over again to get the local number to talk with the store. That in itself was an ordeal. They keep wanting to send the onsite technician to confirm the cuts despite sending photos. And on top of that they are still asking for photos even though they are already attached to the case. Now after 3 or so delivery attempts to give warranty replacement they still continue to only want to deliver part of a modular couch. ?? I want a full couch and warranty claim, not just part of it. Can't seem to get the sofa arms warrantied for some reason. Just going to return everything at this point, which BTW said after the fact No Returns. Just going to have the credit card deal with them now since all of the 12+ times I've talked to folks they tell me it's resolved this time. Including local store managers. How is Ashley staying in business? Response: I think that email is a black hole. No response from anyone! Just reinforces my review

Overall a good experience. The only issue was having my old mattress picked up. The salesman simply said it would be taken away but the delivery driver insisted it be wrapped in plastic for pickup - something not mentioned to me at time of purchase. Creativity saved the day; we used the wrap from the new mattress and away it went.

We bought a new kitchen table/chairs. They had a good variety and we found the perfect one. So easy and at a good price.

I ordered a dining room table, chairs, server on August 17th 2024. Today is November 3rd 2024. The salesperson verbally said the server was on back order but would be delivered in about 6 weeks. The delivery date for the server keeps slipping. Now it is approaching 3 months and I have no idea when it's going to be delivered.

Even though there was some confusion over the couch delivery components, our salesperson,Robert, was very accommodating in immediately correcting the issue. The delivery team, Caesar, was very pleasant and made sure we were satisfied with the couch before they left.

I am an empathetic person who doesn't write negative reviews unless they are truly warranted. If I could give the San Marcos location zero stars, I would. Be advised this location DOES NOT accept any returns and their customer service is horrific. Unfortunately, the day we purchased furniture the sales associate did not bother to inform us they do not accept any returns-even when I asked the sales associate if accessories were returnable, they did not bother to tell me that nothing was returnable. When I called the store to inform them I wanted to return a sofa because the fit in our home would present a safety hazard, I was told my request would need manager approval. I wrongly presumed the manager would easily approve my request- nope! I made my return request on November 18. I was largely ignored or put off by the Customer Service team until January 6 when they ultimately denied my return. Even though I feel a store should inform a buyer of a zero return policy, I attempted to compromise and offered to pay a restocking fee or accept store credit. But nope. The flat out denied my return after stringing me along and communicating poorly for two months. I am so dissatisfied that I will never purchase from any Ashley Furniture again.

My in-store experience was very positive. After touching bases with me, I was left alone to look and think about what I wanted. The purchase and delivery experience was positive as well. I appreciate Ashley and will be a returning customer when the time comes.

Love the furniture but the experience has been less than desirable. People are friendly too. We had left the store after purchasing many items. Bed, dresser, sofa, kitchen tables set etc. A few days later we find out that some items are not available or in stock. So we get refunded by they over paid us. Had to go and approve charges again for having too much refunded. They also were going to deliver to the wrong address. Lucky we caught the mistake. Ended up taking over 2 months to get the furniture. Wife and I sleeping on a blow up mattress for that time was not ideal.

I love my sofa from Ashley. The fabric is a thick velour (soft and cuddly), and the cushions are feather-stuffed (also soft and cuddly, but not too soft). This couch is so comfy, that I often fall asleep on it, more comfy than my bed, which is an excellent mattress. The reviews were mixed in terms of durability, so I cover it with a sheet or blanket when I lay on it just in case. Initially, there was an issue with the promised delivery date being moved out a couple times, which is the reason for 4 stars vs 5.

I very much appreciated his rational approach in terms of product recommendations, and it never felt like he was trying to upsell me on something that I didn't need. Thank you again for your assistance, Robert! Overall it was a great experience, and the store carries some beautiful and comfortable pieces, although slightly out of my budget at the moment. I would definitely consider coming back to Ashley in the future!

Don’t buy the extended warranty from Ashley. Actually, don’t even purchase anything from them! They claim that you are able to get your furniture fixed or replaced if damage occurs. However, my recliner stop reclining and I had a year left on the extended warranty. I called to schedule a repair (that took 3 weeks). The technician came over and said he needed to order a part. Then a few weeks later, I got an email letting me know that I am getting a credit for $184. I paid $580 (the couch was discounted from $1900 since I bought the set). I asked why only $184, they claimed that because it was discounted and they received the full amount of refund but I o my get $184 because the store gets the rest! I don’t get a choice on how this playes out. So don’t fall for this BS that Ashley is selling. I will never buy from these crooks ever again! I hope you go out of business for lying to your customers! Update 10-04-2024: It has been three days since I posted and I have not had anyone reach out to me after they replied to have me provide more information. I sent the email as they suggested and nothing! I have requested assistance to my original issue back in May of this year! That’s what I mean about poor customer service! Update 10-09-2024: got a phone call confirming that I am only getting $184 dollars and that it shows up in their system as the amount that I paid! While I was explaining to the person from the customer service line, he put me on hold for no reason while I was in mid sentence, and that got me upset. Then he said he “accidentally” put me on hold. I told him that he is wrong and that I didn’t pay that amount, I paid $580! Then he said that I need to call Ashley Furniture (the store) to figure out what I paid! Even though I have the invoice of what I paid in front of me! So I hung up and I gave up on Ashley! Hey, if you all want to deal with this nonsense like i did…keep shopping and supporting this crappy company! Otherwise, don’t waste your time and buy into their nonsense and empty promises! Still waiting for a call from the store manager! Lol yeah right!

Go to another store where they offer some form of sleep or comfort guarantee. This Ashley is independently owned and they DO NOT tell you that EVERYTHING, including furniture and mattresses, is FINAL SALE. Only AFTER they hand you a copy of your signed sales contract and you go find the fine print on your own do you discover this fact. You have no recourse unless there is a manufacturer defect. I will never shop here again.

*edited review* The store eventually resolved my issue. I am grateful. My relationship with this store started five years ago. Newly married and at the time deployed to New Zealand for training my wife went to this store. We had decided on a full bedroom set as the start to building our life together. First we purchased the bedroom set while I was out of the country, it was delivered and set up which was amazing because I wasn't home to help, and a couch later after we received orders to Okinawa, Japan for three years. This set served us well through a move across the world and life in a different country. Upon return we purchased our first house and it was time to upgrade. We moved the old set into the guest room and went back to the store that helped keep us comfortable through our journeys. We picked a new bedroom set and king bed. Well keeping in mind we just bought a house we weren't able to cover the finance with just one of our accounts so we split the order. We were promised 60months no interest. Sadly the complete furniture set did not fit in our room so we had to cancel the dressers, but we kept the bed. After 6 months I realized that a mistake had been made. My account suddenly began accruing interest and 6 months of interest suddenly all hit at once. My account also had the bulk of the purchase on it. I quickly went into the store and the Store manager remembering me admitted to the mistake and created a a case telling me it would be handled. Being patient I waited months before I returned as nothing had been fixed. At this point I was gaslit by the store for signing a contract that wasn't completely explained to me unlike my wife, as we were separated for the signing, and told I should have understood the fine print coded message underneath my signature meant I was getting 6M instead of agreed upon 60M. (Provided in picture below) After driving to the store on two separate occasions and being promised by the store manager it would be fixed. Calling multiple times and being promised a call back only to wait days and have to call back multiple times, I am told nothing can be done, because my signature is on the contract. After years of being a loyal customer to this store to be treated like this is disheartening beyond belief. I will never shop at another Ashley Furniture again and I make sure to inform my fellow service members to shop elsewhere whenever possible.

Nice furniture, but don’t buy a mattress from here without seeing if the furniture you purchase thru Ashley voids the warranty because to attempt to get it fixed will make your head spin. We purchased a Tempurpedic mattress from this Ashley furniture. For those who don’t know Tempurpedic has one of the best mattress warranties in the world with a 25 year warranty. Unfortunately Ashley sold us a box spring that voids the warranty with them the second we step out the front door. When we tried to take care of this at the store they gave us the run around for over a month already (still not solved or in the works to be solved) Have fun dealing with warranty issues and be careful of the small print! In fact, JUST GO NEXT DOOR TO MOR FURNITURE they have better prices, customer service and if you have an issue they fix it quickly and don’t give you the run around! Customer service matters as much as quality of product otherwise you’re just left with a nice product that better not have any issues in the future. Good Luck! 🤬🤬🤬🤬 UPDATE Ashley responded that the matter was taken care of, but I wouldn’t have taken the time to make this review if that were true. They initially said they were sending someone to look at the mattress, the day came and they never came to review it. When we called they said no one made the appointment even though that is what we were told. We called and were passed around till we were told to go into the store we bought it from, only to be told to go back and call the place we first called to set up the appointment. No, no sir, we were not helped in any form of a timely manner. We are almost 3-4 weeks of trying to get this taken care of and still we are jumping thru hoops. My $2,000 mattress sinks with no one on it, all because you sold us a mattress box spring that voids the manufacturer warranty right after we walked out the door with it! If I could give you zero stars and a video highlighting my back pain because of this mattress, I would!

I am giving this 5 star rating to Rick, a nice and well behaved person. We find the product we were looking for and the reason we purchased from this store was not the price but professional behavior and customer service.

They had lots of modern, utilitarian furniture. Very useful couches with charging ports. The tables double as a storage unit as well as pulled out to be an elevated table.

My husband and I had a great first time experience at Ashley’s! We just moved into a new home with no furniture but a bed. We have been looking for months for the rest of our furniture and ended up buying a couch, dining table and outdoor set thanks to John’s (JP’s) help! He was great! He was able to answer all of our questions, was patient with us trying the different furniture, was receptive to our comments and opinions and gave us enough space and time to make our decision in between pieces. We truly appreciate John’s help in helping us build our home! Thank you for a great experience!!

Good, but collection can be improved.

Smelled burning smell from the lit cupholders on loveseat recliner. We had purchased 5 year protection plan so called store to get repair. We were then told there is a recall for this particular item and that it has caused fires! Recommended we unplug it until technician can come out to repair. Ashley never notified us of this recall from June of 2023. What if our house had burned down or someone got injured? Technician has replaced cupholder but but lights still not operating properly. We are uncomfortable having this item in our home and have repeatedly tried reaching out to store for a credit on item to replace this potentially dangerous item but haven't been able to get a response. We're told the manager is the only one that can make that decision. What's the point of the 5 year protection plan? And why is the manager conveniently never available to talk with to get this complaint resolved?

Andres was attentive and very knowledgeable. As soon as I walked through the doors he greeted me and asked what I was looking for. He pointed me in the right direction, answered all of my questions and helped me find what I was looking for. I was super happy with my purchase and the service received.

We had a great experience at Ashley's in San Marcos! We met Andres on 2 different visits in the store. Very personable and knowledgeable about the products. He was not salesy like a lot of furniture sales people. On our 2nd visit we knew we wanted the couch that we had viewed the prior week. On top of Andres, we also interacted with Richard the store manager and he was super friendly and helpful, along with Joyce as well. She was walking around and was very friendly. Ashley's would be my first stop again in the future when looking for new furniture.

Though the delivery process & delivery team in the past has been difficult to deal with, they now have an option to ship the furniture by FedEx for free which I was excited about. It arrived in one day which was great & the salesperson was so kind when I texted thinking it was a mistake at first. I love the table that now matches the bed that I bought from Ashley last year.

Roberto Melendez was extremely helpful with our furniture buying process the minute we stepped in to Ashley’s furniture store. We originally went in for a dresser for our bedroom and came out buying a whole new bedroom set for our daughter’s room as well for a great price that we couldn’t turn down.

Hands down, worst customer service I have ever received. I bought a dresser/nightstand set at the end of Jan, paid extra to deliver to my apt. Dresser came, was damaged, paint chipping off, looks like the dresser edge got smashed in. I let them know immediately, they said I would get a replacement, and I would hear back in 72 hours. Its been weeks. If I could explain how many times I have contacted them - by phone, by email, even by their chat feature. Its unbelievable the amount of time I've spent on this. Every time the story changes, its "oh someone can replace just the top of the dresser!" (no one ever calls/shows up), "oh it cannot be replaced, we will get you a new one, you will hear soon!" (no one ever calls). I will never walk into this store again in my life and I would invite others not to as well - its all fine when everything goes right, but when things go wrong, these are absolutely the worst people to buy from. EDIT: After viewing Ashley Furniture's response (below): I responded to their email over 4 days ago with the issue with the damaged dresser and asking for help. Absolutely no response at all. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card. I would strongly prefer to have a nice, undamaged dresser instead, but clearly that isn't going to happen here.

Originally left a great review for smooth sales process. Editing now if I could leave a negative star I would. Dresser came damaged (their delivery protocol they just dropped it off and didn't open the box since we didn't pay extra for assembly). I opened the box right after they left and found the damage. Called immediately on 2/1 and spoke to different people all with different answers. Latest is that we wait 7 - 10 business days from 2/9 for a replacement part, and then schedule to replace. Original person said they can't do that for this piece. BTW, DO NOT fall for getting a store line of credit for a 5% discount. You will not be able to dispute a charge and your credit score takes a hit!

I am an Interior Construction & Home Decor Designer. During the last 18yrs I have purchased more furniture & accessories for Ashley's for both my own home & clients than anywhere else because the furniture is beautiful, great quality that stands up through the years. The pricing is also very good considering the quality of the furniture and home decor acessories. But all that is the second reason. The First Reason Is The Consistent Excellent Customer Service! In life nothing is perfect so sometimes issues arrise. When they have Ashley has never failed to solve any issue large ot tiny in a very timely fashsion and to my complete statisfaction. The latest example; I have a beautiful North Shores Bedroom Set. I have had it since 2007. It looks a good today as when I purchased it. I still to this day love it and get compliments on it's detaled beauty. I broke an leaf knob on a nightstand. I called yesterday for a replacement. A simple knob but the Store Manager Richard helped me. He was happy to help me with evne such a small [but very important to me] thing. He will send me two knobs so that the knobs on the drawer will match. When I finished the call I was happy and relieved to be able to restore my nightstand and once again reminded why Ashley was most often my furniture store of choice. Thank You Richard for the Excellent Caring Customer Service! Great Customer Service Always Makes All Tthe Difference. What sets apart the good guys from the others. Unprofessional salesmen on the floor, making Unprofessional comments to my daughter and me. Ordered the wrong color rug, and once I caught it and corrected it, the wrong size arrived. The young gal at the desk was amazing in getting the problem solved as we're the manager and regional manager. After 2 weeks I still don't have my rug, but I believe the right one will arrive, and the managers made it worth the problems.

Completely dissatisfied with Ashley Home furniture. They sold me a dining room set of chairs and I bought the warranty and they would not honor the warranty. They kept saying they needed more pictures and lot numbers and serial numbers. When I sent them in they just said the case was closed with no more response. I would re open it and they would again close it. I am going to file a lawsuit if anyone wants to join me on a class action suit.

Great showroom! Asked an Associate to show me selection of their sofa sleepers and quickly chose one. Paid for it and the whole experience went very smoothly. They asked me to choose a delivery date and it arrived at the 1st 15 minutes of the 4hour delivery time window( to my very pleasant surprise)! The delivery personnel were very pleasant and polite too!

Great furniture and service!!

Cheap furniture that does not hold up and they sell you a warranty that doesn’t honor the covered items - go somewhere else and definitely don’t buy their extended scam warranties. After 10+ calls and run around with promises of follow up, no calls from any of the managers or back office - was a long time customer but will not be going back.

Love the store and selection. I bought two items and love them. I would have given 5 stars except the wait to check out was ridiculously long and I had to pay with the exact amount when paying cash. It's all good though. I'll be back.

My wife and I love this company and love to shop here but Fernando Ramirez at 1050 LOS VALLECITOS BLVD, SAN MARCOS, CA 92069 decided to take it upon himself to upgrade our order to the most expensive options without informing us beforehand. He gave us a copy of the receipt without the price breakdown for us to sign and manipulated our good nature to make a few extra dollars. Definitely will not be purchasing furniture here again.

Went to buy a sectional around Veterans Day Weekend. Sales rep wasn’t very helpful but anytime another rep approached us he would intervene so we felt like we had no choice but to stick with him. While he was ringing us up, he didn’t mention any of the specials they had going on, that our purchase qualified us for. Like the 10% Veterans discount and a free dinnerware set. I had to point the signs out to him. His response to the dinnerware set was that they were out but he would still check. But the sign said they were offering them until mid December, and turns out, they did have them. We left wondering what other offers we missed out on and wishing someone else would have helped us instead.
