I had my first experience purchasing a piece of furniture from Ashley yesterday and it was nothing short from exceptional. I was helped by Ketan, who was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I have a very unique shaped living room and he helped me design it, and even provided insight, with different approaches to maximize my space that I didn’t even think of :). He turned a stressful purchase into one that I am so excited for. Ketan was friendly, professional, personable, and very intelligent! I would love to work with him again for my future purchases! :-)

I had a horribly rude and targeted interaction with an employee at the Hale Rd location, on sunday. Me and my friend (we are 17 and 18) stepped inside and right away, the employees all stared at us and then one of the workers, a man, proceeded to ask us for id’s and claimed that nobody under 18 was allowed inside.. my friend pulled out his id to show him, but then the other employee claimed it was a joke and they told us to have fun. I thought that was strange but the end of that. Obviously we are teens but we aren’t children. We were walking around and trying out the chairs, when the same man yells at us from across the room demanding us to “come here”. So we go over, we’re confused because we can’t understand what he was saying, we were just talking to eachother and sitting on the furniture, and he asked us what we were doing here, we explained that we were just stopping in and we were simply trying out the furtniture, we weren’t being rough or disruptive, or anything that would have deserved what he said to us. Then he proceeded to say “You can go date somewhere else, this isn’t a place for a date.” And he kicked us out of the building rudely, and the other employees just sat behind him sulking and glaring at us. One, me and my friend weren’t even dating, and did nothing to suggest that. He probably assumed that because one of us is a girl and one is a boy, and he said he was “waiting for customers”, basically assuming that just because we appeared to be young that we weren’t customers like anybody else. Never have I felt so unwelcome, violated, and targeted. I would understand that he kicked us out if we were being disruptive or acting as children, but we did nothing wrong and were simply walking around the store and using it how it’s intended. It’s really rude how he assumed we were dating or on a date simply because a boy and girl are in a store together. And the ID’s clearly wasn’t a rule nor assuming we weren’t customers due to our appearance and ages. The man that treated us like this appeared to be indian, had an accent, was middle aged, and seemed to be the main employee welcoming people into the store. Honestly, I hope this man gets discliplined and learns how to treat customers, thats probably why this Ashleys location is always so empty. Also, when he kicked us out there were no other customers even though he claimed they were waiting, and the employees were all just sitting around looking bored. Please be more welcoming and don’t assume somebody isn’t a customer if they appear to be younger. Plus my friend is a legitimate adult so asking for an ID and assuming we were both children is ridiculous. Please learn to be respectful and kind and how to treat a prospective customer, even if you may assume something based on your personal bias. I really hope some accountability is taken, but for others looking to shop here, just don’t. The staff is incredibly rude.

DO NOT PURCHASE OR DEAL WITH THIS STORE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE If I could give no Star I would!!!! I wouldnt recommend shopping at this store, not sure if its all Ashely stores but this one is really bad. I ordered a sofa from this location a couple weeks ago, I called a couple times talked to 2 different people and been told that part of it is available and we are just waiting on the other part to be delivered so they can call me...And I should be expecting it end of July, the latest beginning of August. I called again yesterday, I was told both pieces are still pending and they should be available end of August, which didnt make sense. So I went to the store in person, spoke to one of the receptionists, that was super rude, like I was talking to someone off the street.. One of the so called managers was even worse, telling me that the part that was available was relocated to another order, why??? not sure why, apparently its the system's fault. Then when I insisted for an explanation, he told me "DO I NEED TO TEACH YOU HOW THE SOFTWARE WORKS ' if this isnt bad customer service I dont know what I would it call it then... After I asked to speak to someone different, they brought this guy, that thinks Im stupid, telling me that it was a system problem and on your way back here we put it back to your order, IT MAGICALLY HAPPENED...And I should wait the 10 weeks or whatever for my couch to be delivered. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE, Ive ordered other furniture from other stores and it went as smooth as possible, I dont think anyone has to go through this much stress for stuff we pay with our own money. If this doesnt get resolved I will go higher, Corporates if thats what it going to take... PS: The only guy that was nice was the actual store manager Calvin Update: after talking to Calvin, the store manager. He explained things better and was very helpful, also he offered compensation for all the trouble that was caused. I’m waiting on my order to come in hopefully this month.

I would never recommend Ashley Home Store to anyone as I believe it is engaged in deceptive sales practices. Notably, Ashley lied to me about the expected date of delivery when I purchased a loveseat, then six weeks later it lied in stating that the loveseat left the factory (a lie that Ashley admits to as the loveseat never left the factory) and now refuses to issue a refund even though its internal records show that there is no pending order! This deception is so horrendous that I have been forced to file complaints with the BBB and the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection to help obtain the refund to which I am clearly entitled. By way of background, I placed an order for a loveseat on September 9, 2020. I was told by salesperson Carl Lyon, prior to placing the order that, due to COVID, there would be a four-week delay in delivery, and that the tentative date for delivery would be October 9, 2020. I was later told that the tentative date of October 9, 2020 needed to be changed to a confirmed delivery date of October 24, 2020. The reason it is clear that October 24, 2020 date was a confirmed date (and not a tentative date) is that (i) Ashley never sought to revise the delivery date and (ii) because (according to Ashley), it had left the factory. When I called the store on October 25, 2020 to ask about the loveseat, I was told to call back on October 27, 2020. On October 27, 2020, I was told that the loveseat had been on a truck but that the truck was involved in a motor vehicle accident on its way to a “warehouse.” I then spoke with an Ashley manager, Clint Taylor, and requested that Ashley provide a tracking number so I could verify what I was told. Ashley refused that request, stating that only store employees could track the shipping status and verify that the loveseat had left the factory. After I pressed Ashley on this issue, it admitted it had lied! Specifically, Ashley acknowledged that no loveseat ever left the factory. Adding to Ashley’s deception concerning the “truck story”, Ashley now confirms that I have no pending order! Since there is no pending order for a loveseat, I am undisputedly entitled to a return of my $1,031.57. Ashley cannot legally keep money for non-existent orders, yet it continues to refuse to issue a refund. Simply put, Ashley took my order based on false pretenses: that the expected delivery delay would be only four weeks. It then sought to deliberately mislead me concerning the delivery status by falsely telling me that the loveseat had left the factory. Thereafter, it confirmed—in writing—that there is no pending order. Yet, despite this serious deception and no pending order, Ashley is refusing to issue a refund. This is reprehensible.

Our sales representative came across as ifbhe knew what he was doing but he absolutely did not! He talked me and my boyfriend into buying a California king bed. We choose our mattress and bedroom set. Our sales agent, Micheal told us we would be able to get all mattress and bed frame by the time we moved into our new place. We informed him that we did not have any funiture and would at least need the mattress by the bed and mattress by the move in day. He confirmed with us that it was possible. When he called for follow up information, he had none of the necessary documents in front of him to answer any of my questions pending the delivery of our funiture. Very unprofessional! We received our funiture in pieces and almost did not have a mattress to sleep on, once we moved in. When the bed frame was set up, there was a huge gap on the Side. We went back to the Ashley funiture Home store in Manchester to ask about the bed fitting and we discovered that Michael had ordered us the wrong size bed frame. We knew something was wrong due to the gas between the bed frame and the mattress and the bunching of the mattress to make it fit length wise. Another sales rep. took over and diligently worked to find a common ground with us to fix the problem. During the process I was upset by the lack of professionalism of Michael, and another woman at the front desk named Samantha. She was rude and shorty. The new sales rep. needed to place a call to get things in order due to me requesting to cancel my whole order and returning the funiture. Samantha rudely told the sales rep. that she did not want him to use her phone, although she was Cleary not using it and there were no other customers in the store. I did not appreciate the lack of customer service that was given from these two workers when our problem was due to a mistake made by one of these individuals. This will be the last purchase I make at Ashley furniture.

Absolutely terrible experience. I called this store in the morning to ask if they kept the couch I wanted in stock, or if I had to order it in order to come pick it up. I was told that they did keep it in stock, and I could pick it up at the warehouse. I asked if they had more than one in stock, because we had to drive an hour and I didn't want it to be sold before we got there. I was told yes, they have more than one in stock. So we hired a guy, and we drove an hour to go get the couch. When we get there, we're told we had to order it. This was exactly what I asked earlier, and was told we didn't! So we ended up just ordering it, and opted for delivery since we had already driven there once for nothing. We called later after discussing it, and asked if the delivery fee could possibly be waived because we were given wrong information. No, there was nothing they could do because it was a third party delivery company. Also, the manager "talked to the girl you talked to, and there wasn't that communication with her." Excuse me? Okay, so we asked if their calls were recorded. She "couldn't disclose that information." We reminded her that accriding to state law, we have the right to know if we're being recorded. Okay, yes, we were. So we asked that the previous call be reviewed. She said she would look into it, and get back to us the next day. Next day comes, no call back. So we call them. As soon as they hear our name, we are put on hold and someone else comes on the phone. We explain our story once again, and ask if anything can be done. Maybe a refund on the couch? Nope, nothing can be done. So we just ended up cancelling our order, because we'd just rather not give them our business. Also, no military discount because "the couch came down in price from $700." I had been researching this couch for over a month, and it had been the same price the entire time. Also, no proof of this "sale" anywhere. It had consistently been the same price the entire time, and I have never seen it for $700. We were consistently lied to and given the run around. Dishonest business practices, and horrible customer service.

I purchased some furniture from Ashley’s online store. There was a special online offer which made it cheaper to buy online. The sales woman warned me that customer service may be a problem if I decided to buy online. Boy was she right. The whole process from start to finish was nothing short of a disaster. I ordered a couch and a love seat. After I finished placing the order online I was sent an email stating what day they would be delivered. A week later on the morning they were to be delivered I received a call stating that the love seat was on back order. When I asked why I wasn’t told about this earlier was told they weren’t sure. Not a big deal. I just got rid of my old couch and kept my love seat until the new one came. To my surprise when the delivery guy shows up he explains to me that there is a mistake and the couch is on back order not the love seat. When I asked how they could confuse the two he said he pointed out to the manager that there was a mistake and he thought that he was going to call me. So now I am stuck without a couch for almost two weeks. When the couch finally gets delivered I get a call at 9:30 telling me I am the first drop off and the drivers will be there within 30 minutes. Two and a half hours and three phone calles later they finally show up with my couch. One of the delivery guys was a complete Jerk!!! He smelled horrible. It was either alcohol or BO or both not sure which one. He was so rude, inconsiderate, and destructive that I ended up throwing him out of my house as soon as they got the couch through the front door. He kept arguing with me to the point where I thought I was going to have to call the cops. If I didn’t think it would be such a hassle I would just return the furniture. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company in my life. I will never ever step foot in an Ashley’s furniture stood again. And I strongly recommend that unless you want people that look like they are on a weekend fourlough from rikers island you stay away as well.

The front end experience with this store wasn't bad at all. Greeted at the door, atmosphere is comfortable and you don't feel like you're being hawked over. It was the delivery (or lack thereof) that was the issue. We walked into the store towards the end of November. Found a loveseat and sofa that we liked at a really reasonable price. Purchased it that day and the staff at the store said to expect delivery around mid December. So far so good. About a day or two later, we receive an email saying that Ashley furniture expects delivery to their warehouse on January 11th. Not the delivery date to our house, but to their warehouse. I Immediately called customer service to see what was up. After speaking with the customer service person, who was very friendly, she notified us that they were able to move the dates up to December 14th and December 22nd. They had to break up the order based on when they were going to receive the loveseat and sofa. Not ideal, but I figured 1 extra week isn't the end of the world. Long story short, I called today (since we never heard anything yesterday dec 14th) and was told by the manager Alex, that the order had been pushed back to Jan 11th and there was nothing they could do. No apologies, no tact, just an option of proceeding with the order or cancelling. What made it a little more frustrating was he didn't even make an effort to act like he cared about their mistakes. I barely got the words "I'd like to cancel", out of my mouth before he transferred me to another department to do exactly that. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. They set the expectation of a quick delivery, which they couldn't live up to. When dealing with Alex, his disinterested demeanor made it feel like this is business as usual. For that reason I will not be shopping here again. As a final note, we bought other furniture at Raymore & Flannigan around the same time. Had it delivered in 2 days.

Let me start off saying that now that I have my furniture I do love it. Feels good quality and was what I had in mind when ordering. I had done my research before shopping at Ashley and was aware from the reviews that actually getting my items may be an issue, so I came into the process ready to wait. My shopping experience was great. Linda helped me out and helped me find exactly what I needed in my price range. I didn't feel pressured to buy more and couldn't say more good things about Linda and the rest of the staff that helped me out at the actual store. Linda checked for me on what items were backordered and what date they were supposed to come in. Paying was a breeze (besides issues with my bank which everyone was super patient about). So I left armed with the backordered dates and was told I would be contacted when all was in to schedule delivery. The backordered date came and went so the following day (a Saturday) I called the store, they confirmed my items were in, and they tried to get ahold of the warehouse but couldn't so they sent them an email and said they'd get back to me. Hadn't heard anything by Monday so called again and the lady who answered was very helpful and got me the warehouse number and the name of who I should speak to there and told me they'd be open the next day. Called the warehouse the next day 3 times throughout the day and I got a busy signal each time. Figured it was a wrong number, googled some other numbers and tried the number one more time and got through. Was confirmed my items were in and he scheduled delivery for Friday. Friday came and the delivery guys arrived and I have to give them credit, they did a phenomenal job. It was late in the day so I felt bad for all the stuff they had to lug in and put together, but they took their time and really did an amazing job. They absolutely need to be recognized. So the jist of my review is that I am very happy with the furniture and the shopping and set up portion of my experience. Not terribly happy with how on top of it I had to be to be able to set up the delivery. Would I order again? Only if I didn't have a timeline for needing the furniture.

I didn't go in asking for a deal or a special price. Alex offered me one though, and I got the exact opposite. Stay away!! These people will not value your money, your business, or your time. Furthermore, I purchased furniture on August 27, and on September 25th I still have no delivery date after spending nearly $20,000 in their store! The manager Bob is rude and dismissive. Given the opportunity to resolve my issue, he advised of his need to rush to the casino for a dinner date with his mother. Alex was my sales guy. I had the best experience with him, until all of that was ruined by slimy sales tactics. He told us tons of funny stories and kept us at the store after hours on multiple occasions. Once, upon his insistence, our daughter (age 3) was left to watch movies in their kid area. She ended up in the emergency room after taking a fall. I later discovered that his great deals were not so great. The store prices are higher than are advertised online. When you are given a discount, it is off of a much higher price than the one which is given online. Their excuse is that the online prices are corporate and do not reflect regional needs for higher margins. In other words, there is no real discount. These online prices are manipulative sales tactics used to lure people into stores where salespeople operate as if they are on a used car lot. If the excuse has any truth to it, Ashley needs to higher smarter people who are bright enough to place a disclaimer on the website that says the prices are only available online. I guess that would keep people out of stores and ruin their ploy, so it will never happen. I had my "package deal" repriced to match the internet prices and saved a couple hundred dollars, but they made up for it for by charging delivery and protection plans that were offered free at the time of my first big purchase. Alex discredited every other furniture retailer. He even discredited Ashley Signature furniture that is sold in reputable retail stores like Pilgrims furniture. He said that other retail stores and websites offering Ashley Signature furniture were offering knock offs from China. Yet, when I told Lisa (another manager) that I would cancel my coffee table order if I have to wait until mid October for delivery, she responded, "If we can't get it until then, no other place online will have it sooner." Clearly, Alex is either mistaken, or lying. Furthermore, Alex claimed that Ashley Furniture lawyers were suing these retailers for their fraudulent misrepresentations, but here is the only fraud case that Ashley reported to the Better Business Bureau: 9/10/08 Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. has informed the Better Business Bureau that the "Ashley Furniture" name is being used on the Internet by someone not associated with Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., to perpetrate work-at-home and counterfeit check scams. I will never spend another dime with ashley furniture. The owner, Sammy, gave me a $300 gift certificate. I ripped it up and sent it back. This is not about money and discounts. It is about doing what you say, offer, and represent you will do for customers.
