First i went to rooms to go, where they didn’t really give me good options and kind of just said here try this here try this. After trying many beds i decided not to go with any of them for the reason being I was at the discount outlet and nothing was truly discounted. After i left there i went to Ashley Furniture and that’s where i met Rahi. He was extremely helpful and greeted me as soon as i walked in the doors. He didn’t just try to get me to purchase the most expensive one, he showed me his favorites in the store which happened to be some of the cheapest options. When the delivery arrived, we were shocked to see the entire bedroom delivered in multiple boxes, completely unassembled. When my wife questioned the delivery team, they stated that this was the delivery option “we selected” and that assembly would have required an additional fee. This was the first time we heard anything about assembly options. My wife requested that the delivery be returned, but was told we had to contact customer service instead. When I returned home and contacted customer service, I was advised that the salesperson had selected this delivery option on our behalf. While the representative was apologetic, the only solution offered was for us to contact an approved third-party vendor and pay extra to schedule assembly ourselves. This made no sense, as we had already removed my son’s old bedroom that same day. As a result, I spent nearly four hours assembling the bedroom myself. This was extremely frustrating and not how a furniture purchase should go especially when assembly options are standard and expected unless clearly declined by the customer. Due to this experience, I would not return to Ashley Furniture. This entire situation could have been avoided with proper communication. I strongly recommend additional training for sales representatives, including Rahi, to ensure customers are clearly informed of all delivery and assembly options and allowed to make an informed decision rather than being surprised with boxes and hours of unnecessary labor.
