Greeted immediately upon arrival. Salesperson gave just the correct amount of attention. He knew when to leave us alone and when to check in to answer questions. It was a nice experience.

My husband and I have never had such a bad experience with a furniture store before. Specifically, this Sarasota Ashley location. It all started when about 10 days before moving into our new house they told us our order had been cancelled?! Their billing department supposedly flagged our card for fraud because the billing and shipping information did not match, which is understandable I guess. However, they failed to let us know this in a timely manner and so we had to scramble to repurchase the items. Mind you, this was not an easy process. We had to do a completely new order and they told us some things would now be delayed. Luckily, they found a way to deliver most items on time, but the card used is now backlisted from their corporate stores. After that debacle, they then delivered damaged furniture on THREE different occasions. One being fault of the delivery crew, the others due to poor inspection prior to delivery. The first time, the solution was to send out a “technician”. We said absolutely not considering the damage and the fact that we paid almost $6,000 for furniture (I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect quality condition furniture when you spend this much money). Anyways, we requested they send brand new items and the saga continued…. The second time they delivered, they used a different “white glove” delivery service team, where the furniture was already outside of its box in the actual truck upon arrival (some white glove service right there). The the furniture was also damaged once again. Even the delivery person told us not to accept the order. On another note, one of the items they delivered was a self assemble, but we were told the delivery crew would assemble it for us on 3 different occasions. Of course, it never was. Therefore, we wanted to return it because we decided we would just order something that is more simple to assemble especially because we are busy with my husband starting a new job and having a newborn. During the course of this we had been in contact with Wesley Howard, the general manager, who ghosted us and stopped responding altogether (via phone and email) instead of trying to help find a solution and resolve the issue. Not sure how a manager of an establishment is unable to deal with conflict, but I digress. Every time we called the store we were told the manager was “busy” and would call us back. This rarely happened, if ever. This is after speaking with Jocelyn, the store manager, and Naomi, a sales rep on multiple occasions. The customer service line also sucks and kept hanging up on us after having us on hold for 30+ mins each time. That being said, we had to waste weekend time and drive an hour to Sarasota with a small baby in the car and a dog at home because they would not respond in order for us to make a return. All we wanted was a resolution and to not have to deal with this store anymore. Plus, get rid of the one large box of furniture that was sitting in our hallway for weeks. My husband even came out of the store with a dolly and brought it in himself since they are quite literally helpless.

We went into the store for the second day looking for dining room sets. We were totally unsure of what we wanted, needless to say confused. Cortlin met us at the door and the first thing he asked after we told him we were just looking was “. What does the room look like you are buying for?” We have never had anyone spend as much time with us analyzing our room. This was a tremendous help. He moved furniture, brought different options and finally helped us decide on what made sense. We bought a dining room set and a buffet table. Cortlin cared enough to take time. Thank you so much!! See pictures of my new leather Amiata chaise sofa on my Yelp review. The leather started “puddling” a week after we had it. Looks super cheap! I have to place blankets and pillows on it to distract from the quality. Although Ashley Furniture says they take my concerns “very seriously”, after 8 months on a loop of repetitive emails with Glory and the main CSM, they haven’t actually started to resolved this. So, no they don’t take issues seriously. Please enjoy the photos of my expensive ugly sofa from Ashley Furniture. Too bad for me.
