My family and I had a house fire. A couple of days after the fire. We came into the store looking to get furniture to replace what we’d lost. We explained our situation to the sales associate Ms. Fay. Ms. Fay was so kind and so helpful. We purchased living room , dining room, 2 bedrooms sets(1 king, 1 queen) with the mattresses and a sleeper sofa. The delivery was scheduled for a week later. We had been sleeping on the floor with air mattresses at our rental property while we waited for the furniture. The day of the delivery, I received a call saying my mattress was on back order and I had to wait even longer to get a mattress. About an hour after that call the delivery guys arrived. The delivery guy told me the mattress wasn’t on back order. The mattress was at the ware house it just couldn’t fit on the truck. The truck was packed to the brim. As the guys were installing the furniture; I received another call from the call center saying the mattress wouldn’t be delivered because it was on back order. I told them what the delivery guy said and they basically said he didn’t know what he was talking about. After I hung up with the call center I called the store at least 8 times getting no answer before sending someone over to the store. When my niece arrived with me on the phone. They told her to come back after a certain time then the manager would be there. I waited until the time. I drove over to the store and I spoke with the manager. I explained what was going on. The manager said he would help me fix the problem. I told them I needed to get a mattress by a certain time if not I wanted a refund and I would go somewhere else to get a mattress. He and his staff assured my husband and I the problem would get fixed and I would get a mattress that day. I told them I had someone who would bring me a mattress by 8pm I just had to let them know by 7pm. And again they assured me they would fix it. They took me to the back to look at different mattresses to stall as time pass by. Once time came to an end. They once again assured my husband and I; that we would have a mattress that night. My husband and I waited and waited for the mattress that never came. When I got up the next morning, I told my husband I was going to go to the store to cancel the order and I would go somewhere else to by a mattress. I thought the store opened at 9am. My husband told me the store didn’t open until 10am. A few minutes before 9 there was a knock on my door. It was the delivery driver with the mattress. He dropped off the mattress and as I was talking to him, he told me the mattress wasn’t on his load for the day. He was told that morning to drop it off before his load to Athens. I went to the store after it opened, I explained how I felt like they(the store) played in my face. And how the mattress wasn’t delivered when it was supposed to be. I told them multiple times “at this point I don’t even want the mattress; they can have it back and I’d go somewhere else to get another.” The manager kept saying to let them make it right even if they had to give me something to fix it. Even after the offer and the back and forth. I still didn’t/ don’t want the mattress and still got nowhere. Later I was told the situation was being handled by the VIPS and it was out of their hands and that the VIPS would be contacting me. After saying a number of time I didn’t want the mattress. I felt like they basically forced me to keep the mattress thinking if days/weeks go by it wouldn’t be a big deal anymore. This was our first time purchasing furniture and I was NOT satisfied with my experience. To my knowledge the problem was never addressed and the mattress is still here. I feel as if my family was taken for a joke at a very traumatic time . But it’s okay at this point I’m not expecting them to do anything else. I just know once our balance is paid in full, we will be closing the account and will not purchase from them again.
