Found perfect dining table set and sectional sofa here. I looove this store, there are so many choices. Majority of furniture will need to be ordered. We got our sofa delivered within 2 days and now waiting on the dining set on order - a month wait. I don&'t mind the wait since it was a good deal. Lawrence was very helpful in the process.
As many businesses either closed or flew the coop of Dairy Road, Maui&'s newest furniture store opened up in 2019. Ashley Furniture was founded in 1997 in Anchorage, AK. They operate like a restaurant chain with corporate and independently-owned stores. In Hawaii, they&'re run by locally-owned C.S. Wo & Sons who also owns Homeworld Furniture, Slumberworld and Red Knot stores. ATMOSPHERE:The long, single-level showroom took over some decrepit warehouse buildings directly across from the Maui Marketplace, doing double-duty by also sprucing up the neighborhood. Parking is plentiful. Inside, ceilings soar sky high along with big windows which make for a very airy feeling. EXPERIENCE:We were immediately greeted and assisted by Jackie. We were looking for a sofa to replace a defective one we purchased from Inspiration Furniture on Oahu just a few years ago. By defective I mean the faux leather surface started to peel. Off the bat, I noticed a nicer selection of contemporary styles as compared to sister company Homeworld. Secondly, their price on most pieces were more affordable, but that also made me wonder about the quality. A slick-looking, gray fabric sofa caught our eye (see pic below). Priced at $2359.99, it&'s steep but I&'ve seen many sofas going for more. While we haven&'t made a decision yet, it&'s at the top of our list. TIP:They do not sell floor models. Ordering time takes around 6 weeks. OVERALL:Nice selection, fair pricing. If we ever purchase that sofa, I&'ll be sure to update this review to touch on that quality question of mine.
I was skeptical at first due to COVID, but with safety procedures put into place, I was very comfortable during my visit. Safety here is prioritized so that was a big PLUS.I&'m in the process of moving to Maui so I decided to stop here at Ashley&'s to do a little browsing for my condo. 1. Customer service here is superb. Given I was just looking and no intention of purchase yet. Darlene was more than willing to assist me when I had questions about certain products whether they had similar items or even anything different that she would recommend to shipping, etc. 2. They have a pretty good selection so I was able to make a &"potential purchase&" list of items I fell in love with. 3. The displays are well put together giving me an actual feel of what they would be like at my own place. And the store is VERY clean. Definitely considering Ashley&'s for the final move. So bad.-They do not honor the prices that Ashley advertises often on media -Service is awful. I was told the furniture was made in North Carolina and when I got it , it was Viet Nam. Our sales person knew nothing about the furniture.- Calls are never answered. Then you cant leave a message they tell you to email. takes them days to respond.-Furniture was delivered missing partsFurniture is very poor quality. Our sales person was just awful.
Customer service is non-existent here. I was looking around for a good 20 minutes before finally being greeted. By then I already had my eyes set on what I wanted so there wasn&'t much sales pitching that had to be done on their part. I decided to look past the lack of customer service, not only from my sales associate who must have looked down at their watch at least 20 times while assisting me, but from the staff in general. During the purchase, I was not informed of the delivery process so I emailed my sales associate a week and a half prior to my delivery date to ask about what time the delivery would be or if someone would be calling me the day before to let me know. No response from someone who said they check their email all the time. I waited a week before sending out a second email, to which I still did not get a response. I called the next day and left a message, and surprise! I never got a call back. I went in the next day and canceled my whole order and was not even asked for a reason or feedback from the manager or associate who was processing my refund. During this process, the sales associate walked up and after explaining why I was canceling, they decided to blatantly lie and say they did respond to the first email. If it was just one email I could see that being a possibility, even though they would have gotten a notification that the email was unable to be delivered, but then to say they never got my second email...that&'s more than just a fluke. Who knows what the excuse for not returning my call would have been?!
Just stood inline in 90 degree heat because this store is allowing one person at a time in. I had 14,000.00 budgeted to decorate my living room and dining room. I won&'t be spending it at Ashley!
Before making a purchase at Ashley furniture - please look at the over 2000 reviews on Consumeraffairs.com and it will help you understand why Ashley furniture gets a 2 star review - National wide. Here on Maui they were charging double for a sofa that they advertised on their own website for half. There was no &"price match&" as they advertise & if I chose to order it online there was no warranty. if I needed any service I was told I would need to ship it back to the mainland at my own cost. So we&'ll be buying elsewhere.
Just wanted to give an update on our couch. The Container finally arrived in Maui on Feb 25th, but will sit at the dock until the 5th of March ??? Oh and then it is up to the warehouse manager as to when it will be picked up and off loaded. At this point we are told that it could take another 4-5 weeks before it is in their warehouse and ready to be delivered.. I would recommend this store never ever do a special order, unless you tell your customer it could take 4 months to receive your order because the container won&'t ship until its full and then you are at the mercy of the warehouse manager. I was also told that the manager of the store would get a hold of us, She left it to a store employee Lani to handle, Not that we blame her, she at least has tried to keep us informed of a situation that is beyond her control. We just think if you want to run a business you should have better ways to treat your customers.
Wish I had read the comments earlier before we ordered our couch. We had called the store in early Dec of 2019 to order a couch to update our condo, we were told 6-8 weeks, we will be on Maui in early Feb so we waited and ordered on 12/20/2019 about 8 weeks before we come over. We called yesterday 02/03/2020 to check on the delivery date, and were told the container with our couch in it is still at the docks on the mainland, I guess they won't ship until the container is full. Wish they would of let us know that. Would of ordered earlier or maybe not at all. Now they are saying maybe by the end of Feb. Well that's nice but we will no longer be on island, to enjoy our couch. Now we have to worry that if it really does not arrive before we leave, who is going to replace our old couch and chairs with the new one..... Hoping to hear back soon from the store with an update. But from the comments there are people 12 weeks in that are still waiting..
Back in the first week of September 2019, we ordered livingroom furnitures, but part of our order has yet to be delivered. The original delivery date we were given was mid-November. It is now December 20th, 2019 and we have not heard a word from them yet. We called them a few times and they do not even bother answering the phone, it goes straight to voice mail! They do not seem to care about customer service. We will NEVER buy from them again!
