We purchased a couch from Ashley Furniture on 11/25/2025. We arrived and were greeted by sales team member/manager Mason. After discussing what we were looking for (a recliner sofa) he stated he had an extra one in stock for us that we could take home that day ourselves. We paid, and went back home to trade out my SUV for my boyfriend's pickup truck and he went to get it. On pickup arrival, the couch was wrapped and ready and was brought home. Upon opening the couch in our living room we immediately noticed pizza sauce smeared inside the cup holders, glitter, scratches, stitching unraveled, and pet hair- obviously we were sold a USED couch. As any customer would we called in immediately to inform the Peru IL store. They said they would give us a call back that day which they failed to do. Next day we get a text message offering that WE bring the couch in and they will fix the stitching. We declined, and requested we get a new couch. After calling and getting the run around (we were told they were busy and couldn't speak at the moment) my boyfriend decided to drive there and speak in person (hour round trip) and when he arrived there were maybe 3 cars there and our sales team member was standing at the desk - obviously not busy just avoiding the issue it seemed. After a long talk and phone call they admitted that they gave us a floor model/possible return couch. We paid for a NEW COUCH. We requested that they get a brand new couch delivered to our home and take the used couch they gave us. They told us no, and that we had to bring the old couch in and get the new one. (Mind you I'm 6 days out from knee surgery and my boyfriend already did the unloading himself with the first mistake couch and they knew that). As a company and customer service, I'd be ashamed of myself. As a resolution, we want this mistake fixed and our new couch delivered which is a very reasonable request as Ashley Furniture should be accountable. Otherwise, a full refund after this whole mess.

Thank you so much Ashley Furniture of Peru, IL Eve was such a gem! She was helpful, informative & extremely pleasant in assisting us to find our new furniture for our home. We really appreciated not getting the usual pressured vibe, one usually gets at furniture stores. She is terrific at creating a pleasant experience for the customer. If you hate sales guys, then Tony is the guy for you. I think he hates them too. He was very friendly and considerate with how we felt. Seeing how uncomfortable we were on some mattresses then having us get up to find the perfect match. He has really good input and is super down to earth. I wish I could have Tony sell me anything I want. He can reason with you and tell you that maybe some things just aren’t worth it. He is very driven, and absolutely loves his job. WE LOVED TONY!
