I’ve made multiple purchases at Ashley’s over the years including this specific store. Just recently, about 2 months ago I purchased a full bedroom set and living room furniture, all which I was satisfied with. Last week, I took my mother into the store to utilize a credit from an unused warranty that she had. She found a recliner that she liked that was marked down due to it being a floor model (there were 2 identical chairs on the floor) that met the $500 threshold we were informed had to be spent in order to use the credit. After moving forward, we were told that they’d have to wait for the warranty company to release the funds to apply towards the sale however the sales manager said he would tag the chair as “sold” and he would contact upon his return to work this week (since he was off work a few days) to finish up and pick up the recliner. We were also told that we’d be able to pick up the recliner instead of paying for delivery. Today when my mom called the sales manger to follow up on the chair, she was told that the chair had been sold to someone else because the chair hadn’t been marked as sold in the system while they were waiting on the release of the warranty credit. She was then told they could offer her another chair which was a higher price but would discount it and she’d have to pay for delivery. With the discount plus the warranty and delivery, the cost was quite higher than she’d anticipated and originally agreed too. Concerned that this was a scheme to get more money out of her, my mother asked me to accompany her to the store for a better understanding. Upon arrival the sales manager gave us the same story about the chair being sold and what they could offer. I explained that this was at no fault to my mother and the alternative offered was not sufficient because she’s retired, on a fixed income and not in position to pay more than what was previously discussed and allegedly sold. I also shared that I’d made many purchases with Ashley’s over the years and very disappointed with this approach and it made us very skeptical. He apologized and said he’d speak with his manager and to see what he could do. The final offer was a newer model chair, with 1 year warranty plus delivery however the cost would be $100 more. I explained again that this is not okay and was not what my mother had initially agreed too nor planned for however the decision was ultimately hers. Uncomfortable and frustrated with how this matter unfolded my mother declined the offer. She and I feel this was very poor service and a failed attempt to up charge and mislead a senior citizen. Unfortunately my many years of satisfaction with Ashley’s is now tainted with this experience and lack of appropriate resolve. This will certainly impact my decision to shop with Ashley’s in the future.

Nice and clean and the sales rep was nice and very knowledgeable and patient with me she was not pushy and kinda let me do my own thing and was there whenever I need her so my overall experience was A 1 I will definitely be back.
