We were trying to get a quote on a new couch and chair set. We were hoping for great customer service, but we did not get that. The sales person was very disrespectful and treated us like we were stupid. We were asking simple questions about the sale event going on, sale price, and financing. She was not very nice and was very disrespectful. Her name was Ruth.

A tornado had destroyed our house in June and we went looking for dining set, bedroom outfit and sofa and loveseat. Ethan met us at the door and we told him what we were looking for. He spent the time with us and listened to us and took the time to explain about all the items we looked at.. He took the time to print out the items we were interested in, told us to call him with any questions, etc. I highly recommend Ashley Furniture store in Burlington, Iowa if you are looking for people who genuinely want to help you find what you are looking for. I’d prefer to leave this review elsewhere, but unfortunately Ashley’s software won’t allow me to. We looked in store and didn’t find what we wanted but ordered the table and chairs we wanted via their online store. We paid an additional $200 for white glove delivery There were multiple delays, it took over 6 weeks when we were promised our purchase in 2. The delivery men seemed helpful and it appeared everything was in great shape, until they left. Two chairs have improper legs and are not close to level. Overall a very poor experience on something we were hoping to be very straightforward.

We were greeted at the door by Caleb, asked what he could help us look for. We told him and he showed us a few options. He was not pushy and let us take our time in sitting in multiple chairs and explaining them to us all the gadgets they offered. Then let us know at this time they had multiple ways to pay with financing. He was very outspoken and made sure we had all the options in front of us. Then for the delivery he worked around our carpet getting installed and a day later it is supposed to deliver. All around a great asset to your team! Thank you

Ordered a couch and recliner with the help of Ruth in store on May 10th. She was very friendly in store. She stated we would hear on June 2nd when our delivery date would be that week. I have reached out to Ruth at the Burlington store and asked for an update. She stated she would have to call someone “smarter than herself” to figure out the status and call me back the next day. She has yet to return my call. Two weeks later I called the store and was told Ruth was not in but they would leave her a message to call me the next day. I have yet to receive this call as well. I am not one to leave bad reviews, or reviews at all really, however I am very disappointed with the communication from Ruth, who is also the store manager at the Burlington Ashley. I had paid for all of the furniture but have yet to hear an update or even an idea of a potential delivery date. Very disappointed in Ashley Furniture.

Ruth was amazing to work with. She immediately engaged us on what we were looking for what our needs were. She showed us several options and encouraged us to lie down on the beds and try them out. She was exceptionally knowledgeable on the products and brands. She listened and took the time to understand why we were wanting to upgrade our bed. She shared her own personal experience in relation to the sleeping issues we were looking to resolve. She even went as far as to show us some pillows and how you should actually lay on them to alleviate neck pain. In addition, she understood what a large purchase this was and the anxiety we were feeling spending the money she took the time to calculate out a reasonable dollar amount to put down to get our payments to place we were comfortable. We came in the store less than an hour before closing time and she never made us feel rushed and she wanted to ensure that we understood if we weren’t happy with our bed we Not hesitate to call them and figure something out. She honestly made the whole process easy and was supportive to her customers. I had never met Ruth before I came into the Ashley store, but I would enjoy working with her again in the future. In my opinion she is a valuable asset to your company.

Found a sectional couch system in Iowa City area that we loved. Went to the Burlington location as we prefer to buy local. Met with Ruth Sheppard and she let us know that the Burlington location didn’t sell that specific brand. She asked about our remodeling project - I showed her a couple “inspiration pics” and she showed us a recliner chair that was exactly what we were looking for - so we made a purchase. It was a great experience- we never felt pressured to make any changes to our original plans so she could “make a sale” .

Worked with Seth. He helped me a lot , answering questions. Gave me time to look. After I purchased my furniture, paying in full that day, I received text message the next day saying they had accidentally not charged sales tax on my sale and needed me to come in and pay that. In the meantime I had noticed a substantial price difference between the store and Ashley’s website which I pointed out. I sent screenshots of the price differences and after a lot of back and forth they said they’d price match the Ashley site I’d sent them. Which shouldn’t been an issue to begin with. And honestly, if they didn’t price match I told them I’d just cancel and order from the online site. In the end, I ended up owing $30 in taxes which I promptly paid. I’m still waiting for my new furniture to arrive but I’m disappointed in how Ashley in Burlington,IA store is doing things. The prices in the store should be the same as seen online. Period. I have considered reporting the whole incident to the BBB.

My son and I visited Ashley Furniture’s Burlington, Iowa location looking for a mattress for his new home and we were greeted by Masin. We had already been to several other stores with similar product offerings and the sole reason we decided to purchase from Ashley’s Sleep Shop was because of our interaction with Masin. Masin was friendly, helpful, and inquisitive about my son’s sleep position (i.e. back, stomach, side), preference for mattress type (firm vs soft), time he expected to use the mattress, etc. He genuinely seemed to care about finding a product to meet our needs and was not pushy at all, even suggesting alternative options outside what Ashley had available to offer that we might want to consider. After leaving the store and reviewing possibilities, I called Masin a few days later with some follow up questions about pricing and delivery. He remembered me, including specific details my son had shared about his college plans. Masin and his manager were both great to work with and I was thoroughly impressed by the overall atmosphere of the store and the buying experience. Masin’s professionalism and exemplary customer service were five-star. I would highly recommend this business and working with sales associate, Masin, based on my experience.

Lynne was wonderful in showing us the different styles of furniture. She was very helpful. Next time we are in the market for new furniture, we will request her as our sales representative. Unfortunately her co worker, Nancy, was not very professional when she was asked for help. She was disrespectful and rude. Enough so that my husband walked away.
