I was looking for a very specific recliner with special features. The web site gave me a good overview to help set expectations once heading to the store. Dan Dohlman was our sales person and showed us the recliners that fit our needs and budget. The sales pressure was low and my questions were answered. I was surprised by the selection in the store and the turnaround for delivery. Over all a great experience.

I brought my son in to look for a new bed. We knew we needed something firmer than what he had at the time, we told the salesman, Dan, that and he took us immediately to the right bed. He was very knowledgeable, but also personable. The whole experience was quick, and easy, the entire transaction, including time to b.s. about impulse furniture store items took less than 20 minutes from the time we walked into the store which is exactly what I love in a trip to any store. Dan was also honest during our visit, he could have taken us straight to the most expensive bed, but instead he took us to the one that made the most sense, also a huge plus. Overall, the purchase was a great value, the process was easy, the salesman was honest, and he didn't make us feel like we were rushed while simultaneously getting us in and out quickly. I cannot find a reason to not give them my furniture business going forward. Great job!

I picked out a chair and brought it home, but my husband decided he wanted a different one after looking at the Ashley website. Dan said “No problem! Bring the chair back and we’ll be happy to exchange it for the one he wants!”. Dan was very courteous and beyond accommodating. He turned a stressful situation into a very pleasant experience. If you have aches and pains, they have a product for you, if you’re sleeping, hot and tossing and turning all night, they have a product for you and if you’re snoring, they definitely have a product for you.

This summer I stopped by Ashley Furniture to look at mattresses for a guest bedroom. Dan greeted me with a friendly smile and hello and walked me through some great choices for a guest bedroom. We had the opportunity to work with both Chris and Dan in purchasing our new sleep system. Chris was my initial contact and gave me all the information I needed to want to come back. He directed me to Dan as he wasn’t going to be in on the day we were coming. Christopher didn’t “stalk” us like a salesman did at one of the other furniture stores we went to. We give him credit for having to walk all over to store to keep finding us as we were constantly moving. Very straight forward and it was easy to get the financing app done. He explained everything in detail, helped us pick certain colors and explained when things would be in. Better experience than one of the other stores.

Went to several furniture shops looking at mattresses but on a budget, I didn’t want to finance a bed but was needing a decent upgrade. Our salesman, Christopher, was a real gentleman and knowledgeable. He sold us a mattress and adjustable base and we are so excited about them. Great experience all around.

Ordered a mattress for $4,000 during black friday and was told it would be free delivery and arrive in 2 weeks. After the date it was supposed to arrive, the salesman, Brad Hill, called it would take at least another week. When asked to do a refund, Brad hung up. After reviewing the receipt, the delivery was also not free like the Brad repeatedly said it would be and was actually $139.

Acquired a new bed set that id received awhile back not sure if it was even purchased from this location but i was missing two brackets that had been discontinued for the headboard but were used on lots of other existing headboards. I spent lots of time talking to Corporate sending pictures ect. but they wouldn't do anything for me because didn't have order number.. This was a brand NEW never been used just been in storage, but when i went here and talked to the store manager DAN and explained my situation he went above and beyond and ended up getting what i needed. Found a stool there. Could have gotten similar stool for about 70 dollars less delivered to my home free on the internet, but figured this stool was there. It was not. Needed to be ordered. Picked up at store about 5 days later in a box. $250 stool needed to be assembled, like furniture you buy from walmart. Box was full of styofoam, very environmentaly unfriendly, and i am an environmentalist. It is a nice stool. But will make purchases elsewhere in the future..

the living room furniture we purchased is the worst . I have never purchased such low quality, built with the lowest quality material made. we purchased one love seat and 2 recliners. Send the recliners back due to only having 2 sitting positions for them.. either fully upright or put the footstool up and laying back. No option for footstool up, top if body up.. sent them back. now have 2 love seats.. Have had a technician here to replace the material on all 4 sections from where the seat goes from behind your legs and the area where you rest your feet.. I am now waiting for 2new sides to one love seat that had chunks of unevenly cut wood sticking out that will cause the material to wear thru and rip.. wait.. it gets better on both love seat if you feel back from the circle area that has the foot stole release there is a big round circle indentation on all 4 sides. It's like someone partially drilled the plywood . I wish I had NEVER purchased anything from or has ASHLY furnitures name any where on it.. Its totally carp furniture, in my opinion. Now I am stuck with the 2 love seats . please don't fall victim to less then quality furniture.. spend the extra money and purchase better quality furniture..

I’m actually taken back a bit..I’ve dealt with -and worked in - retail both sides of the spectrum a majority of my life. The most recent experience my family and I had with Chris Poulos at Ashley Home Store likely surpassed any I’ve had anywhere before! We came in for a twin kids bed which we thought was stock but realized they only stocked full. Four weeks to get but Chris said he would do a lil checking and found a order at another store that was not properly fulfilled. He called the next day and said we could go to Cedar Falls and pick it up or we could wait a couple days and it would be brought to the Mason City store. I’m not finished. We also missed the sale by 1 day and he still gave us sale price!Came by to pick it up and the store manager (Dan) helped me load it in minutes…at 7 something at night… with a smile! Phenomenal and outstanding! First class guys!

Service was good and personable. Chris was easy to work with and answered my questions. He even created and sent me a video on how to dismantle my current sofa to move it out before my new one arrives.

They were all rude and kept calling me a kid. Thats not how you get customers to buy your products. The person showing us stuff got mad we didnt want her business and stomped her foot and walked away.

Great customer service in store, very helpful and friendly. I ordered two twin beds and dressers said it would take 3 weeks, ok fine. Five weeks later and hadn’t heard anything, ok whatever I know places are behind and I was about to go on a trip, I can wait till I get back. Come to find out they called my old number to give me a heads up on delivery. Called that number again when they were there, probably at the wrong address. Turns out the salesman didn’t update new address and phone number like I wrote down for him. Will now be waiting to set up another delivery date. Not sure how they were suppose to get a hold of me with none of the correct information. Very unprofessional.

I was in need of some furniture in the midst of the exciting time that is Covid-19 and perused the Ashley Furniture website. I fell in love with a sofa and loveseat and had about 9,000 questions. Because nothing was open at the time I decided to take my chances with the customer service chat option to get some of those questions answered. Dan Dohlman from the Mason City, IA store was the lucky individual who responded. He is by far the most helpful individual I have ever worked with in any store. He was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with the endless amount of questions and reassurance seeking I had. "What if I don't like it? What if it's not comfortable? What is your delivery policy?", etc. Because Covid-19 has been never-ending, I continued to reach out to Mr. Dohlman when I had additional questions following my purchase and to make an additional purchase. I live in another state, mind you. Even as I type this the stores in my home state are open and I would prefer to work with Mr. Dohlman over other associates at this company (no offense to them or anything, I'm sure they're lovely). He has been absolutely amazing to work with. I highly recommend asking for him if you are in his store. You will get the best service ever.

About a month ago my wife an I decided to get a new bed and I went to a couple places in town with Ashley Home Store being the 2nd stop but by the time I left I had a feeling that that was the place I'd buy from. After stopping at a couple other places and having a good idea of what's out there, I knew the first place I went to had what u wanted and at a good price but the salesman there didnt sale to me (if you know what I mean) none of them did, except Dan. Great customer service from point of sale with Brad, through management.

Very large selection of furniture, and the gal we worked with seemed knowledgeable, however we had a heck of a time getting what we ordered. Initially, we were told it would be two weeks before our new bed and mattress were delivered to our home. Upon this delivery, it was discovered that the gal we had worked with ordered the incorrect bed (and who knows about the mattress?! I wouldn’t be able to tell based on looks) they left the incorrect bed at our home until the correct one could be delivered. I never received a call about delivery, a week later I called and the gal I spoke with helped me schedule delivery. Another two weeks went by and they were back to remove the old bed and bring in the correct one. The delivery man felt absolutely horrible when he had to inform me that again they had made an error and they did not have all of the necessary supports and he would be returning a third time. I called the company the next business day and they said they would ship them to us. Two weeks later and we received the supports that we are expected to now install ourselves (with no direction). Not impressed with this company at all right now. We will be taking our future business elsewhere.

We bought two mattress sets from them and it has been nothing but a nightmare from the beginning. First of all our sales rep promised us things that we later found out were completely inaccurate. He told us we were able to get our daughter’s mattress prior to ours, since ours was a special order, if we came and picked it up. Was told it would be just a couple of days. So we sell our daughters bed to be picked up the day we could go get her new one. Phone call that we could pick up her mattress never came. I called, found out from the store manager that hers would not be delivered til ours was because we used the rebate that was offered on our mattress towards part of hers. So she had no bed for weeks!! I ask the manager what he is going to do about this and he says nothing. I got no apology, no credit, nothing. It’s not our fault we were fed complete misinformation from their sales staff. He truly could have cared less. Our mattress is to be delivered and they show up two hours before the time window even started and we weren’t ready. So they leave everything in our garage and leave. I call the store, the manager tries to get them to come back but of course they won’t. So we have to get some friends together to help, as our king mattress was very heavy. He did offer us a 50 credit for that. Just our luck, the king mattress ends up defective. Call the sales rep back from the store who informs me to call customer service and they will order a new one no problem. I call, the lady is rude, tells me I have to go through the manufacturer. I have had the mattress in my home less than three days!! No, I’m not going through them. All of the sudden I hear music playing in the background and a lady picks up and says, “Ashley Furniture, how can I help?” I had been transferred to the local store without any knowledge of being done so. It becomes a huge hassle and takes almost two weeks to get the ok to get one ordered, then another two for the order. We set up delivery for the day after we were to get home from a trip. The confirmation text says 12am-3pm delivery time. We thought clearly it was a typo and it should be 12pm-3pm. The next day I get a phone call that yes, it was 12-3pm. We got home in the wee hours of the morning and there is a knock on my door at 7:20 am!!!! I tell them they aren’t waking everyone up, I will have to reschedule. 9 days later they come back and are bringing the mattress in, it is clearly bowed and the plastic that is to be sealed around the mattress has holes in it the size of my head. I told the delivery driver this wasn’t ok and they were going to be ordering a new one. The sides won’t even touch the bed it’s so warped from being stood upright for so long under a lot of weight. The mattress is very dense and heavy. Should be for over 3,000. It is also musty smelling and dirty, I’m assuming from the gigantic holes that were ripped open on the plastic. He agrees, makes a note in his phone, tells me corporate will call me that day. I also called the local manager for the heads up, he said he’d make some calls if they didn’t take care of it. Corporate calls three days later, very rude asking for pictures repeating several times that the mattress was defective and how could I have two defective mattresses! These are special order she states and we aren’t ordering another one without due cause. I explain to her this was THEIR fault, not a defect! It was THEIR mishandling of the mattress in the first place and we did nothing!! It came to us this way! She asked me to email pictures, and I would be hearing from them within 24 hours. I have yet to hear from the manager of the store or corporate and it’s been four days. I am fed up! This has been a nightmare and such a huge time suck, with the phone calls, the run around, the misinformation repeatedly and the rudeness! What makes matters worse is there have never been apologies or any real decent customer service. Especially when spending this kind of money. Such a nightmare.

What a great experience!!! I have made three recent furniture purchases here, and Dan and the rest of the staff made each purchase easy and enjoyable. Their selection and quality is great, the prices are reasonable and their service is exceptional!!! Definitely where I will go for future furniture purchases!

September 2019 Just bought new sofa and table had a bit of a mix up with delivery but Dan was great at fixing it right away. Love the new couch will be back :) May 2024 got another new couch from Dan and extremely happy 😃. Great customer service! Thank you for making everything work for us.

I live in Wisconsin, and got the call my wife's cousin was at Mercy Medical with an extreme medical condition. When I got here, her husband needed to get a lift chair for the house. Neither of us live here, but I had my truck and Ashley Furniture was right across from my hotel. We were greeted by the usual cheery greeting, but the sales staff picked up on our dire condition immediately and everyone jumped into help, including meeting us at the dock and helping us load. It was an incredible experience, and I am extremely grateful.

I'm sorry to say that we had some damage on our furniture. Dan Dohlman turned what would have been a disappointment into a very positive customer experience. The way that Dan handled the expedited replacement for us and solved the problem renews one's faith in customer service. We highly recommend Ashley Homestore in Mason City and Dan Dohlman.

Very nice furniture but a little costly

Not impressed. I ordered a set of couches on November 11th, I was told they would be in at the store on November 20th for pick up, after not hearing anything back, I called on November 30th wondering what was going on with the response that they should be coming into the store on December 10th (with no explanation) then I called again to get the reason a few days later and was told they would be in store for pick up (for sure) on December 4th. I called today to confirm their arrival so I could go pick them up and was told they didn't come and that the sales associate would "write a note" so they would come on the next Tuesday. I'm sick of the unprofessionalism and lack of communication. I won't be purchasing from here or recommending it to anyone. I still don't know when they are showing up.

Where do I start? Our salesperson, Adden, needs to learn how to communicate in a less awkward way or find work in a profession where his communication skills aren’t such a big part of his job. He made our entire buying expirience terrible my girlfriend and I spent the whole time looking at each other wondering what was going on. We were told that our pick up would be ready on a specific date. It was not. There was zero communication to the fact that delivery dates to the store were estimations. There was zero communication to the fact that a piece of our almost $2,000 dollar order was on backorder. Then there was no curtousey call from our terrible sales person that our order would NOT be ready for pickup on the pre-agreed date. Then on the above mentioned date when I showed up with a trailer and a friend, that gave up his free time to help, to get my merchandise the entire sales staff seem surprised to the fact that I was angry. I was given excuses for the terrible service like: “Well maybe Adden was stressed out because he was having a hard time figuring out the financing.” Well, when we showed up to buy the furniture we had pre-approved financing.... what did he have to figure out. Then when the manager, who was impatient with our frustrations and anger, got involved he ended up promising us delivery the following Tuesday. Guess what? We didn’t get our delivery on Tuesday! Now we are being promised delivery on Thursday. Stay tuned I’ll let you all know when they muck that up too. In 32 years I’ve literally never had a worse expirence in a customer service situation. The only reason they are getting one star is because I cant write a review with zero stars.

Not a fan. First of all I didn’t like my salesman. The employees need to be trained better. It was uncomfortable. We asked if there was a veteran discount and was told no only for active duty and that the sale that was going on was better anyways. We were like well...shouldn’t it be the sale plus 10%? And we were given some bs excuse. When you google veteran discounts Ashley Furniture is included, but it’s not offered??? I’m sure there are probably discounts for students and seniors but not for veterans. Doesn’t make any sense. Also, while we were checking out the manager sat that and called one of his employees out in front of us instead of taking them somewhere private. Very unprofessional.

We were in the store for 15 min and had two workers look right at us and blew us off! I will never walk in there store again in my life time!

Randy, the store manager spent hours of time with me looking at furniture, measuring, again and again, so polite and encouraging, never once a sign of impatience. He then offered to come to my home and help me measure and think things through. He never stopped caring, he was what I consider the Nordstrom example of customer service. Sincere thanks to Randy for his generosity in thought and deed.

We were very happy with our experience at this store today, and we ended up coming back before the end of the day to make a purchase! Mike and the other employees at this location were very eager to help, pressure-free, and very patient with kids. While it took a little while to receive help when I first got there, it seemed that everyone working was already with a customer. I did not feel it was due to a lack of customer service. Once I received help, the employees did everything to help us make sure our sofa and throw pillow selection was perfect for our home! Thanks Ashley Furniture; we will be back.

Great store

The furniture looks nice but isnt really the best quality. You would be better off going to any of the other stores in town. The manager needs a little refresher on customer service. Lots of salespeople sitting around playing on their phones.

I have been looking for a couch so I stopped here walked all through the store and not one person greeted me or offered to help in any way. Disappointing.

Great selection, fair prices, and great service! I even made a change to my order a week after my original visit, and it was handled quickly and professionally.
