The history of Ashley in Escanaba goes back more than a quarter century. It was 26 years ago that Roger’s Furniture opened on 3rd Avenue North in Escanaba, founded by Roger and Mary Jane Jensen of Gladstone. The store started as a warehouse concept in the 150 year old historic building and transitioned into a unique home furnishing experience. Business boomed and we had to move to a larger space at our current location on N. Lincoln Rd. In 2006 we brought Ashley to the U.P., and a second generation began running the business when their daughter, Kelly took the reigns. This enabled us to remain locally owned and operated, and have the tremendous support of America’s #1 furniture and mattress retailer. Our Escanaba was the 239th store to open. Today, there are almost 700 stores worldwide. In addition to Ashley brand furniture, we also carry Beautyrest & Tempurpedic bedding, electric fireplaces, lift chairs, and quality home accessories. Ashley is the largest furniture manufacturer in the world and the #1 selling brand of home furniture. The line now includes bedroom, dining room, casual dining, upholstery, motion upholstery, leather, occasional tables, entertainment centers, home office, youth bedroom, recliners, rugs and accessories. When our bed arrived there were plenty of scratches and other various marks on the bed frame. Some pieces didn’t fit either, I contacted Ashley in the middle of assembly. They said to take pictures of the pieces that were scratched and/or didn’t fit and to follow the rest of the guide. So when I had the bed complete I send roughly thirty-five pictures of the damages that came with the bed frame. After I sent the pictures via email, they replied with how they could order new pieces but I would just have to pay a fee for the shipping and for their instillation fee. I replied with how I already have the bed put together and I’m just looking for a partial refund. They’ve been ignoring me since, they won’t answer my email or acknowledge me when I call. And all they want is for me to throw more money at them. DO NOT GO TO ASHLEY.

So thankful for the Escanaba team! I recently made an order online that had a scheduled delivery date. With no updates or anything indicating the order would be delayed, we hauled our old furniture to the dump the day before scheduled delivery. On the day of we had not heard anything and started calling around. Corporate was absolutely not helpful and continued to transfer and pass us off instead of giving us any answers. The Escanaba store is separate from online orders, so even though they couldn’t help with the specific order, they were able to offer us a solution corporate didn’t. I was very upset and frantic during my first few calls with the store but they handled it so well and the customer service will keep us coming back for future purchases! Thank you so much to the employees working, especially Vanessa! We appreciated all the help and patience ☺️
