Theresa did a fantastic job assisting me with selecting the perfect furniture for my new space. She was patient, honest, and knowledgeable. There was no upsell or oversell, she was keyed in on making sure what I selected was well aligned with my needs. Store Management is great in assisting with delivery dates and times that work with your schedule, as well as ironing out any other details required. Delivery was prompt, clean, and courteous. Store staff: 4/5 Delivery team: 0/5 I was greeted by a salesperson when I entered the store, and she helped me find a mattress and box spring that I loved. I was waiting on my new card to come in the mail, so I didn’t make my purchase right then. I called later and ordered over the phone with the information that the salesperson had written down for me about the products. Unfortunately, I wasn’t told that ordering over the phone would delay delivery. I called on a Wednesday or Thursday, and they said they couldn’t deliver until the following Tuesday because they had to make sure the charge went through. This didn’t work for me because I was sleeping on a cot at the time, and I had expected quicker delivery times, what with the $1,100 price tag. I was also disappointed that I hadn’t been told that I could have paid in person to speed up the process. That would have been no problem for me to do, but they had encouraged me to order over the phone instead of coming in after work right before they closed. It seemed they didn’t want to stay late for me. I really wish they had told me the full story and then given me the choice to come in or order over the phone, instead of pushing for the phone order. My salesperson and the manager tried very hard to get me delivery earlier than the Tuesday quoted, but it ended up not even being delivered on Tuesday. The delivery team kept scheduling delivery for times that I had already told them I would be at work and unable to take delivery. I had to call and/or text multiple people many times to cancel and change delivery times. It was pretty stressful. The manager would say one thing, then someone from the delivery team would confirm it. Then I’d get a text from the delivery team giving a completely different time, and it was always a time when I had already said I wasn’t going to be able to be home. I grew increasingly frustrated with the situation and eventually cancelled my order by telling my salesperson. My salesperson did not tell me that I had to cancel my order in person until several days later, when I asked her when I could expect the charge to be reversed on my card. I am disappointed that I was not told this sooner. So I went into the store, and the staff was very nice. They apologized for my experience and tried to make the cancellation process easy. However, I did have to stand there for about 20 minutes while they figured things out. It should have been pretty straightforward, but there were issues with finding the right people to sign, and also with printing the thing I was meant to sign. All in all, this was a huge hassle that was all for nothing. I ended up buying a hybrid mattress in a box from Amazon, and it arrived the very next day. Why didn’t I do that first? It’s a fine mattress, and I didn’t have to deal with any garbage. Ashley needs to change their delivery provider. Their current delivery team is incompetent.

Filed two claims that never got resolved. I kept all emails and records of all calls. 1st claim for Bed, 2nd claim for sofas. I kept recieving the run around from customers service through emails and in the store once I got fed up with getting no where. After a year of nothing I just said forget it but after that situation. I did decided to purchase from here once again! I know! Why right? I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I normally have a good experience. I Loved all my first few purchases from ASHLEY'S mind you I've re furnished my entire house twice from here . Because i never had an issue, until I did! Once matters wasn't handled accordingly after I did my part. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Dont get me wrong both mangers of the lansing location normally takes great care of my family needs. I've never had an issue with my service from one of them but my last experience with K my situation didn't get resolved leaving me wasting $3000. I was left disregarded! I had to buy another sofa. Here's to the other claim of me recieving the wrong mattress. I didn't notice until after a month because I had my child so we never switch the room until I got well bed stayed packed up. so about 30days after purchased I noticing I received the wrong mattress due to body aches which caused me to check because I bought the same bed I had before and which we LOVED. so we just decided to just purchase bigger size from what we had already. I did all required forms, submitted requested photos all to once again not this error/situation resolved and shoved off. Which left us still stuck with having to buy a new one and given that practically new one away. Lastly I just bought a new Sectional for about $3700 with extended warranty let's just say me & my husband is not happy. i'm over getting played by Warrenties and poor service. Unfortunately, This will no longer be my first choice for furniture!

I am so disappointed with my Ashley Furniture experience I do not know where to start. On January 8, 2022 my husband and I purchased a mattress, adjustable base, bedroom set, and living room set. Our sales rep, Yoandy, was knowledgeable, personable and professional. He let us know up-front that due to shipping issues, our bedroom furniture would not be available for a couple of months most likely. That was fine for us as the bedroom furniture was not the priority, the mattress was. He told us the mattress, adjustable base and living room furniture would be available for delivery within days and a rep would call us to set up delivery. We shopped a couple other furniture stores and returned to Ashley because we like the service and honesty we received. Fast forward a week, no call from Ashley Furniture store so I called them to see when my new mattress and other items would be delivered. We got it scheduled for the following week. We got rid of the old mattress, bed frame, and living room furniture. The living room furniture and adjustable bed frame was delivered without the mattress that I was promised was in stock. I called the store, they said sorry but we don't have that mattress. Mind you this was AFTER I had gotten rid of my old mattress. I relied on what the sales rep told me. The Ashley Furniture rep said it would be weeks to get the mattress they promised me in days at the point of sale. Finally, on 3/19/2022 my mattress along with some of my bedroom furniture was delivered. They put together my dresser, chest and nightstand. TWO HUGE PROBLEMS with this delivery! They did not have my footboard. Without the footboard, the headboard and side rails cannot be attached. So the delivery men left the headboard and rails in the middle of my bedroom and told me the footboard will be delivered the following day. Also they delivered the wrong mattress! Of course I called Ashley Furniture. I spoke to Sherelle who said someone would get back to me that day. That never happened. I called the following day and spoke to Thigpen who said they would deliver my mattress and pick up the incorrect one on Monday (wasting my time on a work day). Thigpen says that regardless of what the delivery drivers said, there are no footboards available. So I have an uninstalled headboard and rails laying in my bedroom for weeks at this point. My last contact to date with Ashely's store was on 4/15/2022 when I called to find out when my footboard would be in. I spoke to Tiara and she says possibly early May. So, long HORRIBLE story real short, we purchased multiple furniture pieces from Ashley in Jan 2022 and we are almost in May 2022 and still have not received our order. I understand shipping delays but this is absolutely ridiculous. As that may be the case, the positive in this story is that most of the representatives at Ashley have been empathetic and cordial. I don't usually leave negative reviews and that is the reason it has taken me so long to post this review. I did not wan to write it but four months and many missteps later I am very dissatisfied with my purchase experience. UPDATE: I received a call from Kendall at the Lansing store earlier today. He apologized and made every attempt to find a footboard for me but there aren't any available in the style of furniture I ordered. As stated in my review above, the staff have always been great and that was the number one reason I made the purchase from Ashley. I would like to revise my star rating as I believe my experience is not indicative of most customer experiences. I can appreciate a company that puts forth an effort to satisfy their customers. I understand that at times things are out of the hands of the company as this situation seems to be. I will further revise the stars once my headboard arrives in a few weeks. UPDATE: Kendall at Ashley Homestore sent gift cards toward a future purchase. That showed me and my husband that Ashley's is more than just talk. They are trying to take action to make the situation right.

Worst customer service ever experienced in my life. We bought furnitures at May. Half of my purchase was available in the stock and it was delivered a week after the purchase, but the other half they promised to be delivered at 6-8 weeks, but today is August 5th, and I called couple of times, and every time the customer service give me new date for my order. Yes, it is pandemic but the company should not take advantage of the customers, and lie to them everyday. Also, I would like to share a really bad experience that I had with this company, when I was buying the my furniture, I ordered a rug too, but instead of sending me a new rug, Ashley sent me a used rug that was on the floor. So, it is unbelievable, they sent me old and used rug that was on the Ashley store’s floor than sending the new one. I called them the day after, and just explained the situation, and they promised me to send a new one, after couple of weeks I did not receive anything and my husband called them but they never ordered me a rug, my husband called, I think more than ten times but that was the same story every time, after dozens calls and almost two months, they ordered me a new rug, when my husband got there to pick up the rug, it was not the rug that we purchased, they offered my husband that you just take this or you get refunded, after two months communication and lots of promises they tell you pick the one it is available or get your money back without any apologies. My husband and I still waiting for our second shipment, and they promised August 19th, after couple of times uncommitted promises, but I think this one will be the same, and I am not expecting to get my furniture. When you say to your customer that it takes 6-8 weeks, the customer trust you, this is a verbal promise but not a written promise but the customer trust you, and if you had told me that it might take more than three months, I would have change my mind and would have done the business with other company. So, worst customer service ever.

Well it’s been about 30 days since I slept well. My wife made a suggestion that we go look for a new bed. We went to value city and looked and laid on a few beds and they were OK . Then my wife suggested that we come to Ashley furniture and we did . As we walked back to the bed department a gentleman asked what brings us in today. He introduced himself so his name was Ed and I told him that we were looking for a bed that was adjustable. He had me lay on a few models and I found one that I liked. He was very good about explaining how this high-tech bed worked and broke it down where I could understand it which I really appreciated. And then he put a price list together for me and wrote it all out and showed me what it would cost me for the bed and that’s when I thought well this might be a little too expensive for me Annette did not pressure me at all he just told me that if there’s anything you could do just let him now. As me and Carolyn we’re about to leave the store had introduced me to a gentleman and I believe he was the manager and unfortunately I’m not good at names unless you repeat it over and over again but I know he has some pretty cool tattoos . And he started talking to me and breaking it down even a little further telling me all the things he could do with financing and really breaking down that you know you spend a lot of time in bed and how important it is for sleep . So when I left the store that day I purchased $7100 worth of bed A day later I I gave a gentleman a ride to his bed store and also I happen to drive for Uber and I mentioned that I just bought a bed from Ashley furniture he told me that he could sell me the same bed for half price . So I visited his store later that day and he said he could sell me comparably The same thing for half price so I thought why not I went back to the Ashley store spoke with Ed and told him that I think I wanted to cancel the contract after they set me up with great financing and they were very gracious and they were ready to cancel my contract and then another gentleman and unfortunately I can’t remember his name came up and started talking to me and Carolyn again and said that he might be able to match that price that they gave me of $3700 so he showed me another mattress with the same base and I’m glad he did I have slept on the bed now for about a week and it’s the best rice I’ve had in a month I appreciate Ashley furniture and all knowledgeable staff Dale and Carolyn woodyard

We ordered a sectional in June 2020. Due to COVID, delivery was pushed out several months. The initial date our sectional was estimated to arrive was August 2020. We eventually received our complete order on the end of April 2021 - so it took nearly 11 months. While many furniture stores are having similar delays on orders, our biggest frustration was the customer service from this location. We had to call the store nearly 25 times from August 2020 to April 2021 to get a status on our order - no one from the store ever reached out. Each time we called for an update, the number of pieces they were waiting to arrive for our sectional would vary - sometimes they were only waiting on 1 piece, other times 2-3 pieces - it changed literally every time we called to check on the order. We suspect they took pieces of our sectional that had come in to fulfill other orders - creating a nasty cycle of re-ordering the pieces they took from our order, which kept pushing the delivery date further and further down the road. The latest estimated arrival date of our complete order was mid-April 2021. An assistant manager promised to call us with an update if this date changed - of course, no one called. We ended up calling the store 5 times in 1 week to get a status. Each time, we were told “our system is down” or “your receipt is in the back” and a manager would call us back in an hour or the next day - to date, no one has returned our recent calls. We eventually filed a complaint with BBB (which went nowhere) and attempted to file a complaint with corporate (which went nowhere) because we were so frustrated. When we filed the BBB complaint, the representative from Ashley HomeStore (corporate customer service) couldn’t locate our order in the system and basically told us “sorry, nothing else we can do”. We called Ashley’s national 1-800 phone number to formally file a complaint about the store. When we finally got through the complicated phone tree, the representative sent us to a store in OH (we ordered from MI). I even went through Facebook and messaged with a customer service rep online - who opened a complaint for us with a promise that someone would call us in 1-2 business days to investigate why the store wasn’t getting back to us and what the status of order was. That was almost 2 weeks ago - still no calls. Suddenly, the store called us and said our order was in and delivered it a few days later. No one ever called to apologize for the hassle or even explain why no one ever called us back despite multiple calls. We’ll never know if it’s a coincidence that our complete order came in or if one of the avenues we filed a complaint in actually worked. Bottom line is this particular location has terrible communication and customer service. Even to file a complaint is nearly impossible - whether it’s trying to get through to a store manager or someone at the corporate level. While we’re thankful to have our complete order and we do like our new sectional, I can say we’re extremely disappointed in the customer service we received from the corporate level down. Next time we need any furniture, it won’t be through this location, let alone this franchise.

STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL IN WOOD FURN EDIT: MY Furniture was delivered a week before they said it was due, on a Saturday. The delivery men showed and were nice and polite. They brought my new dresser in, which was still in the box. Flipped it on its side and slid it over my 1954 Red Oak floor. A nice, long, very noticeable scratch in the wood floor. Mind you, the floor was in great condition. My nightstand was also cracked and I got sidetracked with that. Plus, they were the delivery guys. What were they going to do about the floor? I was going to need to address floor issue with management. The dresser and nightstand had a strong odor... a chemical smell. First night, warm night and windows are open. I woke up with a slight headache. Second and third nights I awoke with a sore throat and a severe headache. The CHEMICAL SMELL in my house is horrible. The second nightstand was delivered very quickly - within three days on a Tuesday. The same delivery driver arrived. I asked him about delivering the dresser and tipping it over? He said, yes. I explained what happened and showed him the three foot long scratch in my wood floor. He took photos and said he would talk with his manager. I called on Thursday and asked to speak with the manager. The manager was not in. I now have two nightstand and a dresser in the house. My house smells SO BAD! The chemical smell is strong and I have a constant headache. Thankfully, it is warm and the windows are open, but what is going to happen in a week or two and it is cold and I have to shut the windows? I went in on Friday and the manager was not available. I called back later and was told he was working with several customers. I went to Menards and spent $175 for a room purifier. After looking on the internet it appears this is a common problem with Ashley Furniture--strong chemical smell. I had to pull my clothing out of the dresser. My clothing, which was only in the dresser for a couple of days, absorbed the chemical smell. I am NOT SURE what Ashley Furniture is applying to their furniture, but I am pretty sure it is toxic, carcinogenic and cheap! I've purchased new furniture before and have NEVER had issues like this!! SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS FURNITURE... I have three chemical bombs in my house. I never have headaches and the last six days have been miserable for me. I have the nightstands outside in the garage because they smell so bad. If I could drag the dresser outside, I would. I will attempt to meet with the manager once again. Everyone was so nice in the beginning. And now, nothing. Just disappointed. Pretty sure if I dragged a nightstand in to small claims court and the Judge or Magistrate were to smell it I'd win my case. *** Went in for a dresser and was met by the sales rep, Ozzie. Ozzie was very polite and asked what I was looking and showed me the dresser's and allowed me to shop. Ozzie checked back every 10 min or so to see if I had any questions. When I was ready to check out Ozzie explained everything and gave me Ashley's 'best price.' I was more than satisfied with the quote and they rang it up. The lady who helped ring me up was extremely helpful, as well. I went home and started looking at online stores and found my dresser just a a bit cheaper. I came back and showed Ozzie the prices I had found online. Ozzie was sorry, he thought he had given me the best Ashley deal. He went and got his store manager. The store manager, Mr. Ewad, was more than helpful. He explained the other stores pricing strategy, but in the end, AND WITHOUT complaint, gave me a further price reduction... and free delivery. I wasn't really sure what to expect with the price match (online) and all but I was very impressed and happy with the way I was treated. It was a very low pressure, quick sale. The store had a decent selection and the prices seemed fair; although, I haven't been furniture shopping for some time. The store was clean and the rest of the sales staff were very friendly. *STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL FROM FURNITURE! BEWARE...

****EDIT TO REVIEW**** The store manager Ehab reached out to me regarding my issues & concerns. He was very professional, courteous & apologetic. He immediately assured me that he was going to make the situation right, and he did. He went above & beyond to rectify the situation so that I would be happy & not left with a horrific view of his store. The 2 gentlemen that came to deliver my furniture (Ahmed & DeAntron) were absolutely AMAZING!! They were professional, kind, & respectful during delivery & set up of my furniture. I am now very pleased with all that was done by Ehab & his delivery guys to turn everything that went wrong into positive situation. I am thoroughly pleased! **************************************** DO NOT, I REPEAT... DO NOT WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME dealing with this store!!!! I attempted to purchase a living room set from Ashley's Furniture that I saw on their website. I was told the beginning of June 2020 that the furniture wouldn't be in until August. I said ok fine, and paid a deposit of almost $200 (through a link to make payment that was messaged to me) to guarantee that I would receive a set when it arrived. The end of July I contacted the store to check on the status even though I was promised that someone would be in touch with me to let me know what was going on. When I contacted the store I was told that my living room set is now on back order until January 2021! I stated there is absolutely no way I'm waiting that long. This entire time a salesman named Christian had been assisting me. He then got.on the line & told me there was another set very similar to mine that would be in much sooner. After multiple messages back & forth, a set was found that I agreed was a good substitute. Christian stated that he or someone at the store would be contacting me the week of August 17, 2020 to set up a delivery date & time. Needless to say, NO ONE EVER CALLED! So the following week on Monday I called the store regarding my furniture. Christian stated my furniture was in & we set up a date of delivery for August 27, 2020. Within a ½ hour of the call ending a lady named Hope called me to schedule my delivery date.... Complete disorganization! I explained that had just been done with Christian. So the day BEFORE scheduled delivery (August 26, 2020) I receive a call from a woman telling me that my furniture is in & I need to COME IN TO THE STORE to pay the remaining balance & set up my delivery!!!! I said, are you kidding me!? Christian scheduled delivery for me scheduled for tomorrow between 10am-2pm. She stated there is no appointment time in the system for me.... At this point I'm livid! I said are you ready for my card information so I can pay this & schedule delivery. She stated they can not take payment, I have to come in the store to pay the remaining balance & schedule delivery! I then asked, I paid my deposit from a link that Christian sent me, why can I not pay the remaining balance the same way, or over the phone with you. Her response was we make to make sure your card is valid! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!??? I have never in my life received this much run around trying to make a furniture purchase. And calling corporate isn't any better... After over ½ hour wait times, reps hang up, tell you they can't assist, I reached the wrong Ashley Furniture corporate office they only service a certain area.... BBB states they've had 1,028 complaints in the last 12 months alone!

Disappointing initial experience with this store, but responsive management remedied my situation. On August 2nd, I purchased the Hearne sleeper sofa online at a great deal (usually $949, the sale price was marked down to $595). Turns out, it was discontinued the next day. Nonetheless, on August 3rd, I received an email saying a delivery had been scheduled through my local store (this Lansing store, which is an independent franchise owned by J&S Furniture Corp) for August 24th. On August 9th, I received a call from Ellen, one of the local store’s reps. She said the sofa had been discontinued and they wouldn’t be able to get it to me for another month. To make up for it, her manager said I could come into the store and pick out a comparable sofa, even one costing a bit more than the original I purchased. Later, I went into the store. When I got to the counter, I was “greeted” by 2 disinterested employees. I told them my name and the situation, and making it clear they were less-than-enthused, they called for the manager. Instead of coming to talk to me himself, the manager sent out a rep. Although patient and polite, the rep was either intentionally deceptive or he was simply misinformed/uninformed. The first “comparable” sleeper sofa he showed me was the Cansler. Upon seeing it, I was less-than-impressed. The quality and style were both clearly below that of the Hearne. I told him I needed good quality because the sofa would be my regular sleeper. His reply? All sleeper sofa quality is essentially the same, but the Cansler was probably one of the best. I have two issues with this. 1) Not all sleeper sofas are the same. 2) The Cansler sleeper sofa, brand new and not on sale, only costs $649- that’s $300 less than the Hearne’s original price. The Cansler can be found in Target’s inventory. I have a hard time understanding how a Target-quality piece of furniture is either “one of the best” or “comparable” to the item I purchased. After no luck with the floor inventory, we went to the large computer screen, with all the current inventory. I noticed another sofa I’d previously looked at. Online, it’s listed for $594, and in-store, the computer shows the original price which is over $800. I asked him if the prices reflected what was available online. He said, “It updates as the online prices change.” False. It’s still discounted online. I said I still wanted the Hearne sofa and Ellen had told me it'd take more time, but I was willing to wait. He said since it was discontinued, it was highly unlikely they could get it shipped. Feeling deceived, I said I needed more time to consider my options and I’d return the next day. The next day, I called the corporate customer contact number listed online. I told the phone rep my situation. I said I’d been told conflicting things in-store, and I wanted to know my options. I asked her if I could still have it shipped, and she said if I was willing to wait, it was very likely. She escalated the case and made a note not to have it cancelled. She said she’d do some digging and call me back by Monday. UPDATE 8/10 (later same day of original review): Shortly after calling corporate and posting this review, I received an email from Ellen as well as a call from the store manager, Max. Max was very concerned with my discontent, and he listened as I explained the situation. He was respectful and responsive, and he told me he had contacted the warehouse (or wherever the sofa ships from), and it will be in Lansing next week. When I responded to Ellen’s email, she was also responsive, saying she'd speak to reps I had a bad experience with. I understand miscommunication and misunderstandings happen, and I appreciate the responsiveness of this store’s management. It says a lot about a business when they’re willing to go above and beyond to rectify a bad customer experience. I’ll update again once delivery has been made. UPDATE 9/1: Great resolution!
