I purchased Living Room and bedroom furniture from Ashley 3 years ago. Though I like the furniture, it isn't holding up that well for the price. The salesman persuaded me to purchase the insurance. At the time, he told me it covered routine cleaning —that some people even had it cleaned monthly. I had company coming a few months ago, and thought it was a good time to get it cleaned. It would be the first time. Well, I was wrong. After attempting to fill out their online form, they needed pictures of the furniture, the model numbers, and the serial numbers. Then they wanted me to tell them what the damage was. There was no damage other than that the fabric was pilling badly, and it needed a good cleaning. After emails and phone calls over 3-4 weeks, they finally told me that it wasn't covered. Needless to say, I most likely will not buy furniture from Ashley, but if I am naive enough to try them again, I most definitely won't put out the $500 for their no-good insurance.

Delivered a floor model when we bought a NEW sofa. Corners are worn and stains on the sofa. They won’t take back stating all sales are final. The delivery team said to take it up with the store but we needed to sign proving delivery. We could have bought the floor model the day we were in the store. No wrapping, boxes or anything. They threw a tarp and tie down on the sofa as I saw straight from the truck.

I spent two years working for this company — they stole my vacation pay and fired me when I asked for it. So, here’s the inside playbook for getting the most out of them. Pay attention: 1. Want free furniture? Apply to ACIMA without using your credit score. Don’t connect your bank account for automatic payments. They’ll request $50 upfront, but you can use that to get up to $6,000 in furniture — and walk away without hurting your credit. The only catch: you’ll be banned from using ACIMA again. So, make the purchase count. 2. Protection Plan Trap: If you don’t use the plan, the “credit” they give you applies to the full retail price (never the sale price), which is always higher. Translation: you lose money. 3. Check Online Prices: The store and the online branch are technically different companies. Ask for a price match if you find it cheaper. 4. Go for a 35% Discount: If no price match, ask for 35% off. Request to see their margins. Pro tip — enter and leave through the front door frequently while shopping. This messes with their traffic metrics, and the manager will be pressured to close the deal. 5. Avoid the Mattress Gallery: You don’t need 60 months of payments on a mattress. If your back hurts, take a walk, shower, avoid late meals, and pray before bed. Skip the debt. 6. Don’t Finance Furniture: If you can’t pay cash, buy used at Goodwill or Craigslist. Or, circle back to Step 1 and use the ACIMA trick. 7. Tip Your Salesperson: Most are working for scraps. If they treat you fairly, your tip might be the only reason they can pay rent. 8. About the Furniture: It’s mostly particle board with veneer. Expect it to last maybe 12–16 months before falling apart.

My experience with the Oxford Ashley Store (Jackson Ave W.) was great. Our Sales Associate, Ms. Shelton, took us around the store when we needed it and didn't hover over us when we didn't. She assisted us in finding the right bed for our NFL lineman sized son, who can be hard on furniture. I would recommend this store to anyone I know especially since they can deliver and set-up anywhere. I'll be back.
