I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience bothered me to no end. The manager Alfred was HORRENDOUS. Rude and dismissive from the beginning, speaking to my partner and I in what can be considered a condescending tone, at times cutting us off while we were trying to talk. We asked simple questions and his responses felt irritated. If passive aggressive was a person, this is him. Some of his comments came across inappropriate and unprofessional as if he was speaking in a non-work environment. What made it worse was seeing the way he spoke to our salesperson in front of us, it was so disrespectful and made us very uncomfortable. The sales rep kept a positive composure but there was a clear display of Alfred trying to bring down his employee (maybe due to race). Our salesperson was very nice (they deserve a raise if this is what they deal with everyday). As someone who has worked in customer service, what could have been a positive experience was completely ruined by the manager who showed a real lack of basic customer service skills. Alfred also said he knows my culture (even though he did not ask a single question about my race), The culture he referred to is a region of the country I am not from. My partner and I left the building so fast, this place is a joke. I can’t believe this is who Ashley hires to work with clients. You can get the same furniture from any other location so don’t fall for the scams or disinformation here.. I’d honestly suggest going ANYWHERE else!!

Walked in the store and told a sales associate Delvin M we did not need his help but he continued to follow us and pestering us. It felt like he was harassing us. He also said that I should not be so rude and then called his store manager over and told us to our face that we are disrespectful. Alfred the store manager was nice but I will be telling every single person I know to avoid this place.

I would not go to this Ashely specifically but their insurance policy is also terrible. We bought a couch from them in 2024 and within a year the couch started falling apart. We bought the insurance but when we went to file claims things we were told were covered ended not. We went back to the store to get some clarification on the insurance policy because we were now looking for a bed to buy (this was during the Black Friday sale 2025). When we went into the store we were just going to go to the customer desk in the back. We were approached by a sales associate and asked if we needed help. I told him no and that we knew where we were going, I continued to walk. He continued following me asking what I needed. I said I don’t need your help and he then got in front of me. A female manager then got involved and made it look like we were the problem. This male associate then “escorted” us to the desk and made a backhand comment that he was just trying to help. No you were trying to bully a customer to work with you. We get to the desk and are basically told that everything we put in for was not covered so I told them I will never purchase from this company again and we went to Raymour and Flanigan where they were wonderful and bought a $5000 bed. By the way they did say we could purchase an additional $100 insurance policy on top of the $200 policy we already bought if we wanted our couch fixed.

Our salesman Danny was great to work with. A little delivery hiccup that he sddtessed in minutes.

Ashley again? Never!! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!

This was unfortunately our first and last experience with Ashley Furniture. We visited the store, liked a couch, and decided to purchase it. While buying, we specifically warned the sales representative about the stairs in our home and told her we were concerned it might not fit. She repeatedly insisted it would fit and never mentioned the option of breaking the couch option which would have been important information for us to know upfront. A week later, when the couch was delivered, the delivery team said they couldn’t get it up the stairs — and honestly, they barely even tried. We called Ashley Furniture and spoke with another representative who finally told us about the “breaking the couch” option, saying it would cost $170. At that point, we had no other choice and agreed. We were told we’d receive a call back, but hours went by with no response. That evening, we went back to the store in person, and only as we were walking in did they finally call us. The original sales representative approached us, but we felt she wasn’t going to help, so we asked to speak with a manager instead. The manager said, “She doesn’t know everything yet,” which was frustrating but at least he tried to help. He recommended a few people who could break the couch and did not charge us for delivery again, which we appreciated. However, when the couch finally arrived today, the workers who came to “break” the couch ended up damaging our walls instead. At this point, I honestly don’t even know what to say anymore. Between poor communication, lack of transparency, delivery issues, and now damage to our home, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I would not recommend Ashley Furniture based on our experience.

Alex was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and never made us feel rushed or pressured while we were choosing our couch. He really took the time to listen to what my husband and I were looking for and helped us find something that fit our space and style perfectly. The whole experience felt easy and stress-free because of him. We’re so happy with our purchase and grateful for Alex’s help — highly recommend working with him!

If I could give this store ZERO stars I would! I ordered three sofas on 11/7 and was promised they’d be here in time for the holidays! This Fairfield store has lied to me multiple times giving me four different delivery dates!!! I drove to the store in person THREE separate times only to be given the run around, etc. manager Tim Houston finally helped me while I stood there for close to an hour and told me they’d be delivered 12/23 and I have the print out as confirmation. Well guess what, yesterday was 12/23 and I got an email that my order was being delivered for only ONE LOVESEAT to arrive! The delivery guys were clueless as to where the other couch and loveseat were. So I drove to the Fairfield store for a separate manager to tell me that they aren’t even in stock!!!! And they aren’t showing as available until 12/30! I had no couches for Thanksgiving and now I have one loveseat for Christmas. Your company lies and you don’t call any customers back!!! This is unacceptable and for any customers out there stay away from this store at all costs!!! All they do is lie and avoid you!! So glad I spent $5k on furniture just to have NO CLUE WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY COMING! 8 weeks and nonstop lies is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves to leave a customer hanging like this. I wouldn’t be so angry if I was told from the beginning it would take 8+ weeks to receive my order and I even offered to come in and pick out a new one and I was told no don’t worry about it. You guys literally are the absolute worst. Thank you for ghosting me and leaving me with no furniture for the holidays.

I went into Ashley after going to several different furniture stores not sure what I wanted to get, but had something in mind and I was welcomed By Delvin Who was not only friendly, but was willing to hear what I have to say and to point me in the right direction. Between Delvin and Alex, They were determined to ask the necessary information to help me get the sofa that I needed for the holidays. Alex was very informative of providing me the details on the final sale and I am happy that I made the purchase with them.

Ive had enough. I bought a bed and bed frame from this place about 4 months ago. I spent thousands. I have for the past month been miserable with the bed frame. It is so loud i wake from my sleep. Based on the quality of the bed frame and service I will never give this place any money ever again. Since its been 90 days i cannot even get a refund Do yourself a favor don't buy into the “quality” they preach.You think since your spending hundreds more than amazon your getting a good price, in reality you are not. The same bed frame is on amazon for 1/4 the price. The bed itself is good. the bed frame i purchased has been a nightmare. Id give negative 5 stars because i cannot even sleep.

Ashley Furniture Store in Fairfield New Jersey provided me with an excellent experience. The salesman, “Danny” was quick to show me exactly what I was looking for in dining room sets. The selection was great and when I found the one I wanted, the price was perfect. Danny set up a time for delivery and kept in touch to make sure everything went smoothly. When I decided to make a small change, I was able to call Danny on his cell phone and in less than 3 days, the change was made and the delivery occurred. Do not buy the insurance, its a scam. Got it for my couch, company declines everything and then says oh you can pay an extra x amount and it might cover it. Never buying anything here again. Go next door to reymour, their insurance isn't 3rd party it is in house. Thats where all my business goes moving forward

I normally do not right bad reviews to a business, but what happened to me in this store was unacceptable. I placed a big order few weeks ago and the delivery date was suppose to be 11/20, now my order is very delayed and no one had the audacity to call me and let me know that the delivery date was changed. I didn’t even get an email regarding the situation. Now I have no furniture for this holiday coming up and I have to switch my plans now. They were sooo good and attentive while I was placing my order at the store, but now I see their customer service is horrible, lack of communication.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great experience at this Ashley’s location. Gib did not respect our decision not to finance any furniture and continued to explain that option to us. They did have a good showroom with plenty of nice options. However, the overall shopping experience was not good. I understand this maybe part of the sales process, but it would’ve been nice to have our decisions respected. We had a much better experience at the Ashley’s in Ledgewood.

I have be texting back and forth with a customer service Manager Nicole for over a week. My dining set came with no levelers on the bottom of the table or chairs. The holes are there, but the little feet are missing. I’ve spent hours trying to simple get them to ship the little feet that belong with the set to my house. It’s almost like they think and are accusing me of lying so I can steal little chair and table feet. The worst customer care I’ve ever experienced. I’ve bought over $10,000 worth of furniture from Ashley and will NEVER walk into a store of theirs again. Zero star customer service. Nicole…you are the worst!!!

This place is horrible they sell you furniture and I paid for a 5 year warranty yet they won’t stand behind their word. Shop anywhere else you can. Don’t buy from them. They are scam artists. I had to pick one star. I wanted to pick zero stars.

Guys, don't buy the extra protection on your furniture. Its not worth it. The company nominated by Ashley puts you through too many hoops to fix your furniture. I purchased expensive leather recliners and two years later the mechanical system in the recliner started to fail. I called the company for repairs and they never called me back or provided any service. I made a serious complaint to the manager of the store and she said its 5 years later and my protection expired. I explained to her that two years ago i called the company and they never fixed it or tried to help me with my sofas. She said i had to deal with the company directly but i was not the one who nominated the company to begin with so why do i have to go directly? Based on this response i gather they are not responsible company and not worth buying the extra protection if you are not supported by Ashley. Don't spend the extra $$$$$. Save it.

I purchased a kitchen set and when it was delivered the table top had imperfections on it and when I looked at the box it came in you can see that the box was retapped now I call the store and nobody answers the phone my salesperson was Natalia Aparcana at the Fairfield New Jersey store. I had a great experience with Gibin shopping for living room furniture at Ashley. I needed a sofa and a chair. Gibin was really helpful with suggestions and showing all the different options with the different collections. He was extremely patient as I considered everything (I was being very particular about the exact look, style, comfort level, colors.) Gibin really delivered with a great personality and an easy, customer-first demeanor that really made me feel unhurried and not pressured. He actually helped me find a particular match I needed in material to make everything gel... I never would have found it or made the connection without him. So, for me, it was a really big deal that he went out of his way to find that specific thing I was hunting for. I am so thrilled with my new set... as are my family and my friends! Now everyone wants to make MY place the hang-out spot, for better or worse lol!

Love that Ashley makes flame retardant free furniture, which is important for me with young kids in the home. Service was excellent and delivery was timely! Very happy with the chaise we ordered.

Be aware, they will give you the run around. An employee from Ashley on the phone stated I had 72 hours to return a piece. The very next day after delivery I call and stated the piece does not fit. They said once the piece was delivered, it can not be returned But I can have a re-select for something else of the same value, ok. But here is the catch, you will need to pay another delivery fee in order to receive your new item and for Ashley to pick up the piece that does not fit. Why should I, the customer pay for another delivery fee when the driver and an Ashley employee on the phone stated I had 72 hours. I have called several times and gone to the store and spoke to 2 managers, Tim and Michelle. Spoke to Wendy in customer service who stated only the storefront can wave the delivery fee and nothing. I still have more furniture to buy, I guess I will be going across the street to Raymond & Flanigan. Unsatisfied customer.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointed with Ashley Furniture. I bought a couch a year ago but didn’t use it because I was abroad. I only started using it four months ago, and the fabric is already torn and coming apart. When I contacted them, they said I needed insurance for someone to check it — which tells me they already know the material is low quality. A sofa should last at least a couple of years, not fall apart after just four months. They clearly don’t care about customer satisfaction. I would never buy from Ashley again, and I don’t recommend them to anyone. Save your money and avoid this company — their products are cheap, and their service is even worse. I recently purchased a couch from Ashley furniture. The sections do not lineup and they are off by 3 inches. A technician came out and wanted to put shims and different brackets and deemed it manufacturers defect. I followed up with Ashley to see what the process is to return the couch Only to find that the technician put that it was fine and if I wanted to return the couch I have to pay 25% of the original price. This store is a franchise and is absolutely a scam. I’m filing a report with a Better Business Bureau. Buyer beware!!!

I had a wonderful experience. I had been prepared for a full tedious day of couch shopping. This was the first store I walked into and within 20 minutes I was purchasing the perfect couch. Louis Pallone was an outstanding sales associate. Knowledgeable and not at ALL pushy. Helped me find exactly what I wanted for a great price. Will return for future furniture.

Delivery was on time and the crew was very professional

First and foremost the furniture is great. Here is the issue, the sales manager Joe was very rude. He was very dismissive to my wife. We agreed on a couch and love seat. That was it for Joe he was in “Close The Deal Mode”, financing, delivery date was all a priority. My wife wanted to look at other furniture for our basement. Unbeknownst to me I finalized the sale and looked for my wife. She was so disgusted she went to the car. We walked over to Value City furniture and purchased the furniture for our basement. To make matters worse I liked the furniture so much for our living room I wanted to purchase the same set for our living room. I felt hood winked when the price on Ashley’s website was $1100 less only 10 days after taking delivery. I went to the store spoke to Joe the manager once again dismissive about a price adjustment. Meanwhile it states on the Ashley website price adjustments are eligible within 30 days. I was charged and took delivery for my furniture on May 13th. I visited the Fairfield location May 24th, well within the 30 day period. It boils down to if you didn’t take delivery they probably price match because the customer has the upper hand and can cancel. But their true colors come through as “company first” once you take delivery. I will be sure to share this experience with the corporate office. Never again from the Fairfield location. I live in Bergen county and Sunday stores are closed. What a mistake should have waited a day.

Had a great experience back in February - was about to move and needed all new furniture. Alex made my partner and I feel so comfortable! Walked us through all of our questions and spent hours with us while having great conversation and laughs. Was also very aware in what we were looking for and our budget which was extremely helpful. Really couldn’t have asked for a better experience overall. :)

We were welcomed by Lina and she was wonderful. We purchased a sectional and were told 3 week delivery. At 3 weeks got an email it was coming on a day we had not picked. Called to see about changing only to find out it would not be coming that week but instead it would be 4 more weeks. Contacted Lina to ask what was going on since we got an email already only she never responded. We tried Lina a few more times and got no response. We subsequently cancelled our order and purchased from a different furniture store and it was delivered in 2 days. What a disappointment in Ashley Furniture AND Lina!

Sales associate Lina seemed “helpful” in person but once I had questions about how to file a claim or use the insurance I paid for, she doesn’t respond to any messages! How is that helpful at all? Don’t waste your time.

Horrific experience. Went in with my elderly parents to get a full size bed. The STORE MANAGER helped us, but we decided to think about it and talk outside. Well.. thid manager approached my mom and said “why so you have me waste my time” my mom said oh i apologize “and he said “ no not sorry” extremely rude and so scary that he is a “manager” extremely unprofessional. I brought from this store before and will never go back. Definitely lost a customer and probably a couple more since people walking out heard him and couldn’t believe it. Disgusted.

Disappointed with Warranty & Customer Service I purchased a bedroom set from Ashley’s Furniture in Fairlawn, NJ, less than two years ago, along with an extended warranty for added protection. Unfortunately, the furniture has already started falling apart, and instead of repairing or replacing it, Ashley’s simply issued a store credit. The issue? The credit doesn’t fully cover a replacement, meaning I have to pay out of pocket for something I expected to be fully covered. On top of that, it’s not even the same matching set that goes with what I purchased and they won’t even deliver it unless I pay extra, even though I originally paid for protection. This is unacceptable—when you buy additional protection, you expect comprehensive coverage, not a partial refund that forces you to spend more money. Be wary before purchasing any warranties from Ashley’s Furniture, as they don’t seem to honor them in the way you’d expect.

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I never write reviews but I feel that strongly about this. Don’t shop here. They will sell you the protection plan and it will cover nothing. A piece of our couch broke and my 3 year old cut her food on it pretty badly. They won’t even come to look at it to see if it’s covered under warranty to fix. Save your money GO ELSEWHERE.

I went and looked at a couch. Salesman took my info for credit pull and I said to please hold off as we had to think on it. We called back 20-30 mins later and said thank you but we weren’t going to move forward. They ran my credit anyway and now I have a hard inquiry that I didn’t ask for. You have to call the customer service number in order to get transferred to the store. Nobody answered and there’s no voicemail. On top of it the snake oil is heavy in this store. Very pushy, and in my opinion unprofessional. I will never go back

I'm very disappointed with the communication and service. Now i know why everyone buys from Costco. I cannot reach a representative and would like to know what's going on. The delivery was all messed up. Both bedroom side tables are damaged the light on the bedframe is broke and the couch was delivered wrong. Huge issues. I'm so mad. We went to this location and received amazing service. Once our order was delivered I decided to look up how to use our recliner since it didn’t have the usual handle, so I looked up the brand. Found the same couch set at another well known furniture store and if we had purchased with then we would’ve saved approximately $700! So I contacted Ashley’s several times and never got a call back. By the 3rd time we finally were able to speak to someone at this location and when I asked if it was possible to price match we were told no because the furniture had already been delivered and we used long term payment plans. I was very disappointed because of this, $700 is a lot of money that we could’ve saved.

Absolutely awful experience due to salesman, TK, apparently just wanting to make a sale and lying to us! We didn’t order our sectional in the store but instead went home to measure & give TK our exact measurements to ensure that the sectional would fit in our doorway. He told us he spoke to delivery ppl and it would 💯 fit with zero issues! So naturally we got rid of our old sectional & excitedly waited for the new couch delivery but unfortunately the delivery man got here this morning only to tell us there is no possible way to fit the sectional pieces through our doorway & to reach out to the salesman who we ordered through to start the refund process. So we reached out to TK (the salesman) to explain & he then told us that he is on vacation for 2 weeks & good luck! Super helpful response 🙄 So currently in process of waiting on hold with the main store to get a full refund and will go elsewhere for a couch bc we obviously need something in our family room for the holidays! Just a warning to anyone that could possibly run into the same issue as we did, my advice is DO NOT TRUST THE SALESPERSON bc they only are out to make a sale! Take your business elsewhere! I recently went in on 10/30/24 to look at bedroom sets. I was greeted politely by a great Salesman, Trevor, who was open, honest and very helpful! My delivery was scheduled for 5 days later. The delivery went very smoothly. The driver Wilbur was extremely communicative with me about the timing of delivery. All around this was a great experience and I highly recommend going here if you are looking for new furniture.

This has been my worst customer experience. I purchased a sofa sleeper, a bed, two nightstands, and a dresser, but the only item delivered in good condition was the dresser. The rest arrived damaged and had to be returned. Ashley’s team scheduled a second delivery, assuring me that all items were in stock. I stressed the importance of this date since my parents were visiting from Brazil, and I needed everything ready for their arrival. The day before the scheduled delivery, I hadn't received the usual delivery window notification. When I called to check, I was told they would not deliver because one item was unavailable—information I should have received in advance. As a result, my parents now have nowhere to sleep, and when I visited the store in person, no effort was made to resolve the issue. This experience has been extremely disappointing, and I hope Ashley can improve its communication, delivery reliability, and customer service response to prevent this from happening to others.

Highly unprofessional help once I needed to exchange and return something. My sales associate, Kim, was so kind and attentive throughout the purchasing process. They even gave me their personal cell phone. I spent close to 10,000 dollars on furniture. Once I needed to exchange something, they disappeared, ghosted me, and never responded. I would understand if I brought like a chair… not 10,000 worth of furniture. The call center was so disrespectful and did nothing to aid me in the process and stuck to their ridged policy to aid in them staying in business and not being there for the customer. I will never shop at Ashley again or recommend them. It is completely understandable why you guys are almost out of business. Your priorities as an organization are backwards

I just wanted to start by saying how thankful I am to get such a good deal on a beautiful couch. Lina was such a sweetheart and was very professional. From the start I was greeted with professionalism by Kim. I loved how she approached consumers which was letting them roam freely and informing me that she was here to help. That was a crucial part in getting my business. All the other places in the same lot along with other Ashley’s I have been too did not seem like they were genuinely interested in getting me what would suit me best but more so just getting a deal “too aggressive and salesy” It’s true you buy from people you like and after searching the store and miraculously spending 30 minutes “time flew by so quickly” just talking and sitting on the couch. I basically had a free trial as if I was in my living room. Made me feel at home so I ended up purchasing that exact sofa. The whole experience was by far better than any other competitor even with the price being the same. I made a pact to come back to Ashley’s and purchase from Lina within the hour. Her and Kim are crucial parts in the success in that Ashley’s store and I would highly recommend all the employees praise them any chance they can get. They will be getting my future business and referrals moving forward. Thank you for the couch and cannot wait for the delivery in 1 week.

My husband and I have had the most frustrating experience with Ashley from start to finish. From the start, the salespeople at the Paramus store were really pressuring us to buy the table within 10 minutes of us seeing it. We told them that we wanted to sleep on it and would almost definitely get it, just had to go home and think about it to make sure. Well they hounded us and then we started getting "appointment" reminders for an appointment at the store that we did NOT make for the following Friday. We found this absurd so we went to the Fairfield store instead. Here, Justin was friendly and easygoing (5 stars for Justin) and we bought our table and 10 chairs. On August 15th day of purchase, we were told the table and chairs were out of stock and it would come no later than September 11th. This was okay with us. September 11th rolls around and no communication from Ashley. I call them and they say they have "no ETA". I call again 3 days later and now the ETA is October 8th, 2 months after the date of purchase and one month past promise date. I called back another week later and all of a sudden the table was ready and we could have it the next day, but there was 0 communication about this so had I not called I would be waiting around. When the items were delivered, 3/10 chairs had significant noticeable damage that we identified immediately. The customer service rep informed us and the delivery team that our options were to have someone come "repair" the chairs, or do a return. We obviously choose return because we already watched one of the delivery guys try to color in a major hole with a marker and we wanted the chairs new as intended. The service rep then informed that in order to return 3 chairs, the entire table and all 10 chairs would have to be put back on the truck and RE DELIVERED. The delivery guy (super nice, another 5 stars for delivery teams), insisted we speak to the manager. Upon speaking to the manager, they agreed we could return the 3 chairs but this whole ordeal took a significant amount of time. Finally the following week the remaining 3 chairs came, and I again had to be on the phone way too long with the customer service survey to confirm the delivery. We have shopped and had deliveries at multiple furniture stores and in no case did we have such an annoying, time consuming, and quality issue as we did with Ashley. We will not be shopping at this brand again for any reason; avoid it.

Such a a great experience thanks to Ghassen. We came in simply to look around for couches and he immediately was very helpful and informative. Ghassen made sure we left satisfied with everything, and was very personable with us. He made sure to make us feel welcomed and like old friends. First, the front door was locked and no employees in sight. Had to call Ashley and they called this location. Then 5-6 staff came to the door and said this has happened several times. Why not solve it? If you know the door is broken, make sure an employee is stationed at the front of the store to let customers in. We shouldn't have to be knocking on the windows and calling the main number. Trevor introduced himself and we informed we were just looking and didn't need help. He was persistent and would not leave us alone. After informing him of the few thoughts we had, he kept saying "I'll tell you what you want; you don't want that; etc". Everything was said in a snarky tone. If a customer just wants to look around, let them. Won't be buying anything from him!

Been here 2x recently because I was looking for a couch. First time me & my boyfriend came in & this man refused to speak to me, would only address my boyfriend. We do not live together & the couch was for me. So I proceeded to walk away every time we got to another couch he would come back & say “just looking” he kept coming around & told me I looked annoyed by him. I told him I was & why. Then he told me “if you are someone who enjoys to throw away money is the only reason you wouldn’t buy something today” so we left & decided to come back another day. A few weeks later I came back with my boyfriend & my roommate & I said “please don’t let him be there.” Well what are the odds he was. Same ignorant, pushy & confrontational man. I told him I didn’t want to buy from him because he was rude. He explained “I’m just doing my job. And I’m addressing him because men understand things more than women do” we left & went to another furniture store & asked if they could sell me the exact couch I saw at Ashley & they did. Just because I refuse to buy from this man. He is awful. His “scare tactic” and “insulting” sales ways may work on some but it made me run out the door & spend my money that same day elsewhere. Would have bought the couch that day if it was not for this man.

Ashley's furniture has warranties on their Sealy mattresses. Our mattress (and bed) broke within three years. We have requested them to fulfill their warranty on the mattress and they have given us the same run around for weeks. At one point they tried to tell us that the manufacturer is responsible but Sealy's said that this was untrue and that it is Ashley's obligation. Ashley's had a technician who came out and confirmed that the mattress had at least three broken coils and that the mattress was garbage. They have closed our case after the technician visit then said they wanted us to restart the process to have another technician come out and us to send the pictures again. We did this at least 3-4 times. In addition, I'd like to add that our bed from Ashley's broke within a year of purchase. We did not go through Ashley's for repair based on the horrendous reviews. We hired a previous Ashley's employee who told us that Ashley's purposely does not include the proper supports on their beds and wants customers to call within the warranty time and sends out a technician to fix it but they only put a bandaid on it (on purpose) so that customers are forced to buy a new bed at the end.

Although I do like the living room set purchased, after 3 yrs the love seat started sagging a little in the middle.... no worries, bought the 5 year worry free protection and was told SPECIFICALLY stuff like that would be covered including cushion replacements.... 3 yrs later when I need it, THEY DON'T COVER SQUAT!!! and do EVERYTHING in their power to make sure they don't have to cover anything. Although it's nice furniture, DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR BS PROTECTION PLAN!!! It's nothing but a scam that the protection service will not cover, the store will not cover and corporate will not cover. All friendly when they want to sell your, pretty nasty when you ask them to make good on a warranty you were sold. Will NEVER purchase from them again due to their dishonesty. **I have replied to further discuss, will update review after they reply.

The worst experience. My sofa was to high to enter in my apartment. When I bought it nobody told me it coming in one piece, nobody asked me details about my apartment. The drivers did not delivery the sofa and Ashley didn’t return my delivery money back. Ashley wanted more money to separate the sofa in pieces ($160) or they offered me change the sofa but pay again the delivery .Ashley doesn’t care the client’s satisfaction. I think the money of the delivery should be share with Ashey (50%) because it was not my fault. Ashley supuse have more experience with deliveries. It was the worst experience I had it. In addition I have problems with my husband because was “my idea” buy a sofa. You need to improve customer service and improve the sale protocols because I don’t believe it is the first time it happened.

He approached my wife and I very professionally when we entered and let us tell him exactly what we’re looking for in a new bedroom set. He guided us around the entire store showing us several different types of mattresses first, which was we were primarily looking for, and gave us very detailed information on each brand. He allowed us to take as much as needed to test out each make and model recommended. All additional questions we had he answered very knowledgeably. We were very comfortable with his personality and appreciated some of the personal information he shared about himself during our conversations. My wife and I had no doubt when we left that we had definitely made the right decision for our bedroom set! I was not even planning on buying a couch today. We were just looking around. Justin came and didn't pressure or follow us around. He was very nice to my wife and it meant a lot to me. I left and went to another store but Justin was the difference. He's a class act! This was one of the nicest sales experience ever. 100% Truth.

The worst customer service I been waiting almost 2 months to get the right color drawer and still the store does not want to take responsibility and avoids my calls. The store blames the warehouse for not having the drawers. The store makes sells without checking if warehouse have it available. We spend at least 20,000 on the store they were real hungry calling us and everything before we made purchase but now that there's a problem they don't want to deal with the problem.

It has been a horrendous experience for us at Ashley. Damaged furniture has been sent thrice and every time I am instructed to open a service request with customer service. A month and a half later I still do not have a functional dining set and have been spending hours on the phone explaining the issue to customer service. Every call with customer service has taken 30 to 60 mins. Needless to say, my family is very very disappointed.

hands down worst customer service i ever encountered. please don’t waste thousands of dollars on here. they’ve made me moving 10,000 times more stressful it’s impossible to talk to someone who isn’t a automated computer.

This is an updated review, because the original review that we left was Actually requested from us from The sales rep that helped us at Ashley, we bought this set of furniture for about $3000. The couch came out pretty decent, but what I have an issue with is this dresser and the dining room chairs. The nails on the chairs come loose on their own, The seats are extremely uncomfortable, and when you sit, you literally feel your butt falling into a hole. They are the most uncomfortable chairs we have ever purchased, We have not been able to put any objects on the dresser shelves because the shelves are uneven we’re not placed correctly and do not say in place. I am very upset with the quality of the furniture at Ashley furniture, They are definitely Up charging for very cheap furniture. And if you’re asking if we would ever go there again, the answer is absolutely not. UPDATE JUNE 2024: We wrote to them to try and get covered under their "warranty" and they told us it only lasts 30 days!! which is insane because of course nothing will happen in the first 30 days of the purchase .. its a lost cause. They said that we have to pay for them to come out and fix it. JUST DONT DO IT.

A very happy returning customer who has had nothing but great experiences with furniture and mattresses. Alex spent so much time explaining different features of all the top brands of mattresses. This was so important for us as my husband has back issues. They even have a big selection of the “Purple” Mattresses to choose from which are all the rage!

We originally came in just to browse, but wound up seeing a living room set my Mom loved. As we were sitting on it, he came to chat, but in a very conversational way. He wasn’t shooting off a round of questions or being pushy…just chatting. We needed to take some measurements and told him we’d be back. We wound up coming back that week and going straight to him. My fiancé and I went shopping for a new couch yesterday as we just moved into our apartment the day before and had no living room furniture. We were greeted at the door by Lina. She immediately understood my style and what we were looking for in our new couch. She put up with all of my annoying requests and finally found us a couch that checked all of my boxes! But we have such a weird layout in our new apartment, that I was worried it wouldn’t fit right. Then Justin came in and developed an entire plan for our living room. He sold us immediately on the couch and a sofa table (which we didn’t even know existed before yesterday) to bring the entire space together. Both Lina and Justin sold us on not only the couch and the sofa table, but a new dining room set and coffee table too! Lina and Justin matched our personalities perfectly. Terrible experience. Couch delivered with a broken frame. Technician came to look at it said I needed a new chaise. Chaise was being delivered when drivers had a difficult time getting it into my home and damaged my door by pushing the chaise through the door which then ripped the chaise. The chaise also had a broken frame. Two months from purchase, I still don’t have a full couch that cost $1,800. Don’t use Ashley.

When I walked into Ashley I had done my research and had no intention of making a purchase that day. I had researched 3 other competetive stores and planned on making my rounds in person before making my purchase. Then I met Henry. He was able to understand exactly what I wanted and eased my fear of stepping out of my comfort zone...which i really wanted to do. He understood design, warm vs cool colors...and put me at ease with my ideas. I didn't want a couch or loveseat...I wanted 2 large chairs with ottomans...and I was determined on finding the right size and color. He understood my needs and concerns. It took about 45 minutes and suddenly I was totally confident. He didn't 'talk me into' anything by any means. I didn't feel pressured or obligated...he really just listened to what I wanted and guided me. He understood my vision and got me there. Needless to say, I didn't feel a need to go anywhere else. I left with a delivery date for my new chairs, ottomans, and confidence in my purchase. I felt like I'd known him for years. What a great experience. I normally get nervous and frustrated when someone comes and helps (I prefer to shop by myself) but Shayan the store manager was an absolute delight. Horrible customer service. We just purchased a dining set and 2 accent chairs like about 2 weeks ago. Everything got delivered on March 1st. One of the delivery person was TRYING to carry the dining table top himself and of course it was too heavy for him. He couldn’t handle it and had to put it down hard before even got to the house. They didn’t have any type of tools to help them carry heavy furniture and I don’t understand why they couldn’t carry together because there was 2 of them. When they were trying to assemble the dining table, table was upside down and they were putting the legs up. They were walking on the table and leaning over the table. At the end of course table was damaged and 3 out of 8 chairs was damaged and we wanted to send those back. Delivery person accepted to take 3 chairs back but kept saying we’re going to get contacted about damaged table and he doesn’t want to take that. When delivery people still in our youse, we called the customer service to confirm which items are going to get redelivered abd she said only 3 chairs. We said table also damaged so that needs to get redelivered. She stated that delivery person said that table was good. We explained her the situation and she had to talk to delivery person next to us and tell him that he HAD to take the table back as well. After that he was trying to un assemble the legs and while doing that he scratched our tiles. It was so hard he had to take the table back with 1 of the legs still assembled. We talked to couple customer service people on the phone to confirm the items re-delivering because every person was giving us different information. At the end we confirmed and they said we can get the re-delivery earliest on March 7th and we said friday March 8th is better so we set everything up for March 8th. We just got a call stating only 1 chair getting delivered on March 5th so we were confused and call them back. They said that because of the delivery person’s error they have to do some stuff on their end and they don’t know when the table is going to get delivered. So no they are saying 1 chair is getting delivered on March 5th we don’t know when other 2 chair or the table getting delivered even though we were given date. We talked to the customer care people, store people, managers, everyone we can talk to and all they say is they say is there is nothing they can do. We have to wait and hope for the best about delivery date. I’ve never seen customer service like this. We accepted the re-delivery instead of refusing everything because they tolda us everything would be here in a week. Now we are mad and want to return everything. And they are telling us we can keep 5 chairs we accepted and cancel the re-delivery items (3 chairs and the dining table). I guess that makes sense to 3 years old. I don’t know how this people still in business. Horrible customer service. You got away with this saying this is the policy. But there is no policy for giving us the delivery date and then changing things up. Never going back there. So sad we didn’t even want much other than them keeping their word. But I guess that is too much for them. Hopefully Ashley employees who helped (not really) us, would go through the same experience We went through. That is all i am going to say. Disappointing

We received a delivery of a dining set and two accent chairs. Three dining chairs and the table top came damaged. When we showed it to the delivery driver and stated that we didn’t want those pieces, he kept refusing. He kept stating he would get trouble and went as far as lying to the representive on the phone. This was all because he didn’t want to unassemble the table. Ultimately, He finally took the damaged pieces after constant back and forth. Him lying has lead to a form having to be filled out to correct the order since he had said the table delivered. This has created delays and now we have no clue when we will get the remaining pieces. After all these inconveniences, the store has been extremely rude and taken no accountability. Worse than everything is that our tiles were damaged while they were unassembling the table and we can’t return what they already delivered. NEVER GOING BACK!

We bought furniture and protection plan from them and know when we actually had to use the protection for our furniture Ashley and the 3rd party(warranty company) is pin pointing and saying that they canceled the protection plan.

We wanted a new couch so we checked out Ashley. It was the first store we checked out and after about an hour we were walking away with a couch. The whole experience was pretty good. The store was pretty easy to get to and there was tons of parking. It seems like the salesmen must work only on commission because they were hungry. I guess ideally I usually prefer to just walk around and browse by myself, but by the end of the experience I was happy that Justin was there to guide us through the store. He knew so many dimensions off the top of his head, it was crazy. They also offer drinks like water and coffee which is a nice touch even though we didn't take them up on it. We narrowed it down to a few different couches and then Justin gave us time to ourselves so we could sit and talk everything through privately. Eventually he came back and answered any final questions and we made the deal happen. It is worth noting that the prices online were better than all of the posted prices in the store, but when we mentioned it they were able to match the online price and Justin explained that the posted price is the price if you do financing, but the price was lower if you pay in full. It sounds like there might have even been more room to negotiate further, but we didn't push too hard or anything. If you order online, they offer a 5% discount for health care workers, but they don't offer that in the store. The price online are a little more expensive for delivery and it takes 4 to 6 weeks, but our couch that we got in the store could have been delivered as soon as a week which was nice. They push pretty hard for the protection plan in the store so maybe the commission is higher on that or something, but we declined it. You can expect the protection plan to cost about 10% of the total cost of the furniture and shipping is between $100 and $200 for the average stuff. Of course that stuff could always change in the future, but if you're reading this review, I guess you're looking for extra information before you go in so I told you everything I could. Ashley has a great selection and a pretty comfortable environment so give it a whirl.

Great experience

Well, this review is going to be strange because it started out wonderful and the timeframe of delivery was acceptable until I realized the salesman in the store ordered me the wrong chairs when they were delivered. I went to the store physically the day after and that’s three days ago and I still haven’t heard whay the plan is on doing about the exchange of them. The salesman said he was going to call corporate the next day and get back to me immediately and like I said it’s been a couple days he has not called me back

As soon as I walked in Justin was there to help. He wasn't hovering or overbearing. He was very personable and helpful. It was as if we became fast friends. Nit to mention his DASHING BEARD! Any additional purchases I will definitely come back to him.

Furniture store and staff were excellent. We purchased a new completely wooden dresser and it was set up for delivery with a financing option right on the spot. Simple service with a smile is their top selling point. None of the Sales folks were pushy and it took us a while to pick out our dresser, but they were patient and waited for us to test them all before choosing the one we wanted. Would go back again!

Bait and switched me on the frame. My understanding was I was getting a discount, not a cheaper item. Mattress is good though, and I guess I could return the frame if I wanted to pay the difference. Kind of a pain though.

Do NOT purchase any warranty for their products because they will not honor it. We have had our couch 3 years and our dogs accidently peed all over our couch and we were assured by our salesperson that pet urine is covered as stated in the warranty terms and conditions. Guess what? Did you know that they don't cover "odor"? So apparently pet urine can't smell or they won't cover it. I spent hours on the phone and online to put a claim through with zero help with them just talking in circles with no resolutions. Completely disappointed and disgusted at this company that does NOT support families with pets, because if we knew this was not covered we would of never purchased this type of couch because you can't even take the covers off to clean it and it saturated into the frame so it is basically destroyed.

My building has requirements for after 9am delivery which was communicated a month in advance. I'm going to start on a good note the show room floor is clean and very well organized. I was going to buy a couch and a kitchen table set. BUT I'm not going to name, names the sells person that was helping me asked if I know how to speak Spanish I told him *little bit" (in Spanish) he started insulting me in front of my face in Spanish I understand what he was saying. They also claim to be a manager, I end up walking out and taking my business else where. I'm happy I did that because no one should ever be treated like that.

Great showroom experience and then downhill from there, rapidly. Their tactics post sale are most kindly described as entrapment. If ANY single piece of a delivery has issues, refuse it all. Every single item. It's the only way to cover yourself. First delivery, everything boxed except side rails of bed which prevents everything from being put together. The side rails were wrapped in plastic unlike all other pieces and were blatantly used, missing chunks, bent screws, etc. Not an honest mistake. This was a deliberate attempt to deliver used merchandise. Second delivery, boxed rails, it all goes together and the adjustable platform wobbles around on the unsecured slats like this is a rickety old bridge. But... You can't return the platform because you accepted delivery last time instead of refusing everything because we deliberately sent you a single component of used merchandise. Now if this was all on the same day, we'd take the platform back no questions asked. 5k+ on a bed, platform, and mattress and their solution is that I start modifying the bed with Velcro tape and anti skid pads, I kid you not. Because securing the additional slats would crack the bed frame. This is the top quality product you're paying for folks. Buyer beware. Go to IKEA and at least you get what you pay for at way... Way... Waaaay less cost. Oh, and all the slats are secured on an IKEA bed!

Horrible. Won't replace it. Had to report them to better business bureau. Then, they gave me a new one.

1 Nightstand- got a new one 2 Nightstand – had stain for tissue box. I just kept it. 3 Draw Dresser- Replaced 3 times. Holes, pealing and scratched. Drawers not closing. Had to report them to better business bureau to get a new one. Had to record a video of me sticking finger nails in cracks because they didn't believe me. 4 Chest- had problems with one draw and my husband fix it. Got 2 new ones that did not fit. Wrong gliders. Only fit on the original drawer I went to the store. The lady in the store took my information and I sent her pictures of the damage. She said she will show her manager when she's in. The next day I went back to Fairfield and found out she was the manager!!! Ordered bedroom set in July 2022 but furniture got delivered in October 2022. Had all the correct and new pieces by the end of July 2023. Which took exactly one year. -Ordered from Ashley furniture in Fairfield NJ horrible service and rude people. Overall, -They did not believe me about the dresser I had to keep recording videos. - Bad communication skills. Said were coming and were not. -Said I closed and opened cases which I did not. -Said called and left messages and they did not. They emailed me instead. -Pieces keep getting delayed for months. - One time the workers delivered a damaged piece they were supposed to take damaged pieces back and did not. -Scheduled appointments and cancelled 2 days before and said I never made one.. I ordered a sofa from Raymor and Flanigun and there was a little scratch on it. I just emailed them and sent two pictures and didn’t even talk to them on the phone. Ashley is a big project when you do this. Order from Raymor or a different place. Just not Ashley.

I can't recommend enough that anyone stay AWAY from this location. From deliberately deceptive sales tactics, to the lack of accountability, this has been a horrible experience. Lou, the salesman, attempted to pressure us into purchasing a product we did not want, lied about the estimated delivery time, and now refuses to contact us. We've been hung up on by Angela and treated unbelievably rudely by Christina. Finally, speaking to a manager Yuriel and hoping to have found a solution, he has now also gone missing and nobody from Ashley will return our calls. We've purchased several products from Ashley's in the past and this situation is beyond reconcilable. Nearly two months later and we've had to change plans, live in discomfort, and still have no idea when our merchandise which we have already paid for will be received. The next step is the BBB but seriously, avoid this place. There are plenty of other retails. Update: the store now refuses to answer our calls, the email customer support stopped responding, as did twitter support. As of this moment we’ve received no information from our salesman Lou, the store supervisor Yuriel, and tonight Annie was the receptionist that hung up on us. We do not know if or when the merchandise we’ve already paid for will be delivered and there has been zero accountability on the part of Ashley’s.

Kim is the best! Went to several stores looking for a new couch and found a great deal. Kim worked with us though the whole process from purchase to delivery and even follow up after the delivery to make sure everything went smooth. If your looking for furniture go here and ask for kim!

When we walked into Ashley Furniture in Fairfield, NJ, yesterday, we were greeted warmly by JUSTIN. After we shared a few laughs, we explained our needs to Justin to furnish our new family room and he was there to help. He showed us several options for sectionals before we found the reclining sectional we would eventually purchase. Justin “did the math” (CONFESSION - I’m terrible with measurements!) with all the calculations to help ensure that the pieces would fit along with lots of measuring. He was absolutely lovely to work with, knowledgeable of your products, so very pleasant and calm and extremely helpful. Justin even went the extra mile and offered us his cell phone number to stay connected throughout our shopping experience to offer his help in any way he could as we made our decision. We were later introduced to TREVOR, who assisted with the financing piece and ended up wrapping up our deal on Justin’s behalf. Again, we had another lovely experience working with him too. Trevor is wonderful salesman, also knowledgeable of the products and cares about his customers. Truth be told, we actually left Ashley to do a bit more furniture shopping and run some errands before finalizing our choice but agreed that both Justin and Trevor were the people we wanted to work with and give our business to and ended coming back very late that evening and purchased our furniture. We’d been to many, many stores but Justin and Trevor earned our business in their professionalism, care and special handling of our needs. We are so pleased with our recent Ashley experience and will definitely be back. After nightmare inducing experiences being stalked by employees at other stores, Kim was a ray of sunshine. She helped us with everything we needed and did not put any pressure on us at all. I was looking for a comfortable leather power recliner and they Only had 2 power recliners that were leather or leather type. After I told them I didn't want a super wide recliner. Salesperson said well leather means ummm....I said, what does leather mean? (I asked because she stopped mid sentence.) Then she said leather means "wide." Which is incorrect. Based on the severe lack of selection and poor knowledge & poor customer service I left. Very disappointing.
