Ashley Store Durham, NC (Southpoint)

We recently bought a living room furniture set from the Southland Mall, Durham, NC store. Our order included a lamp stand. It arrived damaged. It was replaced. But it arrived damaged. We asked for a refund as the supplier obviously has a QC problem. Ashley said “no refunds” is their policy. Another lamp was delivered and again it is damaged. This is appalling customer service and shocking refund policy. We still have no resolution.

Sarah was very helpful and professional, I love the new furniture she helped me pick out.

Sarah helped me purchase a TempurPedic mattress, she was so knowledgeable it made choosing the right mattress for me easy. If your shopping at Ashley ask for Sarah!

My husband and I recently went to this store to find pillows. We had never had good pillows before and I frequently would wake up with headaches. As soon as we walked in, Larry greeted us very politely and asked if we had ever been “fitted for a pillow before.” We said no and he led us to the mattress section and let us try out a selection of amazing pillows, while giving us details on why each pillow was different and then helping us choose the best option based on our sleeping styles. I highly recommend this store and highly recommend Larry as being a great memory maker!

My roommate and I had an amazing experience here. We were met at the door by Randall, who was extremely friendly and professional. We had a list of requirements for our furniture due to limited space and he was extremely patient and accommodating. Randall took us around to multiple pieces that he thought would work for us and had great recommendations. When we are looking for our next piece of furniture we will definitely ask for Randall again.

We went to actually buy two white nightstands for matching our superwhite bed frame. We then saw a discounted chair that can fit in the living room so we took it. The sales guy August heard we want a dresser as well so introduced us to a good one. He was nice, patient, clear about the terms, and super helpful. We look forward to using the furniture for a long time.

Randall is a super nice guy. Didn’t pressure us when we walked in and listened to our interests in what kind of sofas we were looking for. Hadn’t bought sofas in almost two decades and my mind was blown when we discovered tilting headrests. Yeah! We bought that one and the matching loveseat with cup holders (a must). Recommend Randall to others.

I was looking for a new set: recliners and couch. The staff were very welcoming the minute I walked through the door and explained where all the reclining furniture was. They were very helpful but not intrusive and answered all my questions. I placed an order and the process was very easy and the staff explained every aspect of it very well. We worked with August the sales manager, he was really fantastic. I haven't received my order yet so can't comment on that part but the in store experience was really good.

We had a really great experience at Ashley. I really don’t enjoy shopping, but August was fantastic. Really the whole team came together on a very busy Labor Day weekend. Listen if you haven't had an encounter of a lifetime then you haven't met Randall. He didn't bombard me as soon as I walked in the door. He introduced himself and allowed me to walk throughout the showroom without following my every move. Even though I was very limited with my information and conversation at the beginning of exactly what I was initially there for her was still persistent in his communication and delivery. The best professional salesman I've ever encountered cause these others out here just want a sale. Randall wanted to build rapport and assist me with my inquiries. He needs to train every salesman that gets hired I promise you the company will get nothing but 5 starsog they follow his instructions and process. I'm personally giving Randall 20 ⭐ because he deserves them all. We froze together in the showroom cause the air was on Antarctica however, I finally made my decisions and he printed out all of my quotes. Yes I had multiple cause I couldn't make up mind. He was very patient and observant not just that he's very knowledgeable about every piece of furniture in that showroom and if he don't know something trust and believe y'all about to learn and figure it out together. If you're looking for any furniture go to him he's the greatest. You'll get great customer service and great furniture.

When looking for items outside of your knowledge. It is always great to work with someone who allows the process to not be hard or uncomfortable. Thanks to Emery for taking his last work hour to still give full attention to the process of furniture hunting. Although, I have to continue to shop around... if you all are looking for furniture, go ahead and stop by. Emery, thank you for your patience and authenticity!

I hate to change my review, and I am very satisfied with my new chair, there’s just a few things that were a little upsetting throughout the whole process. The first thing was being told that the protection plan is $100 and that I get the money back at the end of the plan. The plan was actually $130, and I actually get the money back in the form of store credit, so I felt misled. Also I was told to go through a third party for delivery which they set up and made easy, and they told me it would cost between $150-175. Being only 15 minutes away from the store and the order only being one recliner, I assumed that the price should be on the lower side of that, but it was $175. Although I was not technically misled here, it still felt like an unethical sales tactic was used. The delivery person was very professional and respectful, but unfortunately his partner was out, so I had to help him unload the piece into my apartment. It felt like a very high price point for delivery considering that I had to help. I predict that Ashley will get on here and say that they are sorry about some of my experiences, but they don’t control the third party delivery. That would be very unprofessional of Ashley. They need to take responsibility for the full process of me getting my furniture.

Averie was a blessing to my bank account! She was honest quick and very kind the moment I walked in. She made my experience shopping for my room set amazing and I will for sure be back for more.

Worked with store manager August, who was great. We didn’t initially find what we were looking for as it had been discontinued, but based on our preferences, August found a similar style at a great price that we ended up liking more. Wonderful experience all around!

Randall did a great job helping us to find the perfect bedroom set. He showed us different options that matched our style and color preferences and would fit nicely in our space. We shopped at a number of other furniture stores, and Randall was the best salesperson we met. Next time we need furniture, we will be going back to Ashley’s and asking Randall for his help.

We went the next day to look at it. We opted to buy another set. She gave us options, pricing options, and no pressure to buy. She also held the price for us which was the Memorial Day pricing. It was truly a great experience.

Nothing but problems starting with very long delays with delivery to poorly trained technicians for setting up a bed to now having damaged goods I then had someone from service state they were replacing an item. I then get a very stern and unconcerned service manager call me back and not only could he have cared less about my experience with my purchase he lied about the recorded conversation. Will never do business here again. Go to Rooms To Go. Much better customer service. I’m very disappointed in my purchase but much more disappointed in the customer service I received. I'd had my eye on a recliner for about 3 weeks. My original purpose for going in the store was to look for kitchen buffets! As the consultant, Larry was showing me around, we walked pass the most comfortable looking rocker recliner I'd ever seen. I immediately stopped and sat in the rocker recliner and was sold! I visited the store and my chair two more times and on three weeks later I now own my rocker recliner! The folks at AHS were friendly and great to work with as the demonstrated true concern for each customer!

We have been loyal shoppers of Ashley Furniture for over ten years now. Our home is Ashley Furniture friendly. We stopped by Ashley Furniture off of Fayetteville Rd. today and had the great pleasure of meeting Jesus and Rahim. We stopped in to possibly purchase a large rug and ended up leaving with multiple rugs, baskets, pillows and other home good items that we needed in order to freshen and update our home. We were so pleased with the way they assisted us, because it meant logging nearly 20 items into the system and then all items had to be loaded into our SUV. We weren't expecting their help with that, but Rahim, rolled out the heavy cart and loaded up all of the rugs, taking them to the car and coming back to get the rest of the items and then loaded them into the SUV. Both Jesus and Rahim went above and beyond and were so patient as we kept finding additional items. They were both very pleasant and helpful and so easy to work with. Other employees working in the store also stopped by to say hello and happily shared in some friendly banter when things slowed down a bit for them. We have been loyal customers for a long time and today was a wonderful reminder of why we are. Thank your for all you did today Jesus and Rahim! Very appreciated!

Bonnie was nice and very knowledgeable and helpful. However, I ended up cancelling my purchase. Not because of Bonnie, but because of the financing company koalafi. Koalafi requires payments twice monthly. Additionally, there is a delay with the delivery. In my opinion, it takes too long to receive the furniture. After reviewing the paperwork more closely at home, I decided against the purchase and I called Koalafi and Ashley Furniture and emailed Bonnie. Good luck!

“DO NOT EVEN VISIT” this store. We met the Worst store Manager ever in our life who is VERY VERY extremely rude to their customer if you are not buying the product right away from them. We bought house and in order to make it “HOME” , we are looking some good but affordable furniture and in order to do that we are roaming from store to store to get good affordable stuff as Money don’t come that easy. Is it wrong? We almost liked one sofa set (cost :2000$) which we were about to purchase so obviously we have to ask questions and search for the similar items. But guess what, you can do this in the store. We were in the store at the closing time but was in middle of the discussion with one item with salesman. And since i know, how hard it is to stay in the store after closing hours so we kept saying the salesperson that we are LEAVING , we will come tomorrow to continue the discussion but he only insisted us to stay 10 more min as it is ok . Oh My God, the behavior of the store manager was like if he was high at that time, he was not ready to listen any word as we have wasted his time by staying in the store after hours(which his salesman only forces us to stay) and then that Manager literally pushed us away from the store door like we have done some crime there. Worst person ever I met. Even I had my child with me, and it was raining heavily outside but WHO cares. Never ever going to visit this or any other Ashley store because of his behavior. “GROW UP MAN and START RESPECTING HARD Earned Money and Customers visiting your store.

I was looking for a couch and Bonnie Roberts pleasantly greeted me upon walking into the store. Bonnie helped to identify the more modern couches and direct me to the proper area of the store where couches of most interest to me were located. After a bit of testing, I determined that I liked a couch, but I was not sure if the couch would fit in my living space. Bonnie got a tape measure and helped measure the couch dimensions, ensuring we had all the right information needed to make a purchase. It turned out that the couch was a bit too large, so Bonnie was able to customize the couch for my living space. The couch was modular so this worked out well. I enjoyed my experience at the Ashley Furniture and highly recommend working with Bonnie! She was also able to move the delivery date from late September to late August (almost a month earlier than initially expected). Thanks for all of the help, Bonnie! Looking forward to the new couch.

Jorge was kind as he greeted us and told us where to start. We were then met by the General Manager, Brian, who was an awesome salesman. We found ourselves lost in all the options and he helped us hone in our ideas/do’s/dont’s and we were able to furnish our whole new house! We appreciate the Ashley staff!

Moved to the area and day of move in needed another couch - we walked in Ashley Home Furniture with 30 minutes to close. Larry and Bryan helped us find a couch in record time (literally in under 8 min) and we were checked out and on our way (with incredible customer service) in less than 45 min! We are pleased!!

John was very helpful in helping us buy a sofa. He introduced himself when we came in but didn’t hover, giving us time to sit on the different models and go back and forth multiple times. When we were ready to make a purchase, he was occupied with another family, going over everything slowly and carefully because English was not their first language. John asked an associate to help us with the final purchase so we didn’t have to wait. We appreciated the professional but low-key treatment!

Jon was very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable in guiding us through the process of purchasing a patio set and suggesting several arrangements.
