We've been looking for the right couch for a few years now. Today, we found the perfect one at Ashley with Karen's help. She let us look though her online catalog to check for matching pieces, made the purchase process quick and easy, and just generally had a great vibe. Also, she gave us space to consider our options on our own, and while unattended, every associate checked to make sure we were being helped. It never felt pushy or hurried even though we arrived late in the day.

We stopped into the show room about a week ago. B.J. greeted us- we truly are in the beginning stages of our search, and he respected our distance and time. He would answer questions and gave us advice as needed. We went back today to measure a few items - again just looking. Again - B.J. was very helpful. We plan to go this week to purchase the items we liked and will DEFINITELY ask for B.J. to help us.

One of the better customer experiences of our lives with Deric. We had just come from RTG(Rooms To Go) and didn’t enjoy the sales pitch. We were fully prepared to walk into RTG and spend some significant money on furniture. That changed when they were not going to offer any discounts and I felt like we were being pressed to buy or else we’d miss out on delivery timing. We then went to Ashley assuming we wouldn’t buy anything but wanted to look around. We walk in and Deric greets us and asked us what brought us in today. We let him know we were just looking around and would let him know if we found something we liked. He immediately let us know about how we can capture some significant discounts based our tier of spend. My wife and I spotted a dining room table that was absolutely perfect for us. We let Deric know we wanted to get that table and he started to gather the info for the table and we went over and sat down on a beautiful leather sectional. I then came back over to the table to finalize the table as my wife walked around some more. He then asked me about my interest in the sectional and I said I loved it but not for that price. Deric then made me aware he could knock over 20% off the couch and he had me sold. Overall a terrific customer service experience with a knowledgeable and friendly sales person. When I left RTG I felt like a number. When I left Ashley I felt like a valued customer. The customer experience won the day and I’m glad I was able to spend my money with Deric.

Karen Baird did a phenomenal job of selecting home furnishings and decor for each room. The color schemes were nothing less than beautiful. She even went the extra mile and assisted in furniture placement and picture hanging. I really can’t thank her enough. This has been the best customer service I have encountered thus far.

“I had a wonderful experience shopping at Ashley Store in Four Oaks NC .The showroom was beautiful, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Karen, my sales associate, was absolutely fantastic—she was patient, knowledgeable, and really listened to what I was looking for. Thanks to her, I found the perfect outdoor set. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I highly recommend this store and especially recommend asking for Karen if you want great service!”

Loved working with Ms. Laura Scott, BIG shout out to her. She was super professional and understood my needs. She did not overshadow me while shopping and did not push a sale. I'll be contacting corporate about our experience there regarding Karen, the manager. We go in, greeted by Derrick, who was awesome. Derrick was really great. Told him right away, hey, we spent an hour plus at the other store in Durham today, a salesman named Marlin helped us, we know mostly what we want but are still open to love seat options. Derrick was like ok cool, showed us a few love seats and let us look around. Didn't see any we loved. The main couch/sectional we liked from the other store was at this outlet too and I said I'd like to measure it one more time to see if we do or don't want to add the cupholder piece. Derrick was kind and helpful and got us a tape measure! Then Karen comes over to us and says that if we buy it there, she can give Marlin credit for the sale. No thanks, we really just want to measure it and buy it from Marlin, because we spent a lot of time with him. Karen gets aggressive and tells me that we need to buy it there to give Derrick half the credit for the sale because he spent time with us too. I'm like ummm, this is uncomfortable. I told her that we have already made our decision. She insists that this isn't fair, Derrick works on commission and he needs to get credit for the Sale. We spent maybe 7 minutes talking with Derrick, who is absolutely wonderful. Since she won't back off, I told her, I've been in sales most of my life, the Worst thing you can do is try to make the customers buying experience about your salespersons pay. She said well I don't pay him, he works on commission. I said well maybe you Should pay him more if this is a problem! She wouldn't back down with her aggressive Karen attitude and I asked her to please let us just finish measuring before we decide we want nothing to do with this store. So she went back to her desk. While I was talking to my boyfriend, not even a minute later, I was asking him like omg, was that uncomfortable or what? Was I rude, I think Karen was way out of line? Karen heard this and said we were being rude and told us we need to leave! We left immediately. Yep. That seriously just happened. Poor Derrick, what a terrible manager to work for. Karen needs to be fired, she's out of touch, rude, aggressive, doesn't understand what sales is about and is an embarrassment to that store. That was awful. I will be writing to corporate about this experience.
