I had a wonderful experience at Ashley Furniture on Glenwood Avenue! As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted warmly by Joe, who immediately made us feel welcome. He took the time to explain the current promotions and financing options clearly, without being pushy or overwhelming. When I found a few items I liked, Joe was incredibly attentive, helpful, and patient. Throughout the entire visit, both Joe and Cash, the General Manager, showed outstanding customer service. They both have fantastic personalities—friendly, genuine, and professional. It was refreshing to work with a team that made shopping easy and enjoyable without any pressure. Ras helped us today and it is the best customer service I’ve ever received in a furniture store. He was very respectful and patient (I had my kids with me and it can take me a while to make decisions). My wife and I were met with a humble and friendly greeting from Hubert. He was kind, informative and has people skills beyond the expectation you generally have in this day and age. With his ability to answer questions and give us enough space to look around while knowing when to pop in and check on us I was at peace feeling the reassurance of our decision to try one more furniture store. Previously we had been to Rooms to Go and Carolina furniture. My wife and I were about done with it all until we decided to try Ashley furniture store. Maybe this place is different? Sure enough Hubert gave us hope to continue. While Ashley furniture store is not the cheapest nor is it the most expensive, we found that it fell somewhere in between and that's where we found the best over all value. Not only in their prices but also in their character and work ethic. There were questions that we had that other employees couldn't seem to answer but they always knew which guy to ask and here comes Hubert to the rescue with answers to any questions we had. He informed us on their base that they used on most of their sectionals even gave us an illustration to how much weight they can hold and reassured us of the longevity of the furniture. Me being a big guy my self appreciated that. When we finally made the decision to pull the trigger we were relieved that it was at such an amazing store with amazing staff. He even got us an extension on our financing due to the size of the order we had. After all was said and done we went home and realized that maybe in our excitement we purchased one or two too many pieces of the sectional that we liked so much. So with our itemized receipt that Hubert emailed to me I began to double check the dimensions. Sure enough I order 2 pieces too many. But, no problem because Hubert was able to fix this issue over the phone and was promtp to return my call the next day! Thank you, Ashley Furniture Store and Hurbert for all your help. You were a shining light in a dim situation. If you need help with your purchases you can count on Hubert!

Let me break this review into two parts - purchasing the couch and then everything after that. Purchasing the couch was easy and Lindsay and her manager worked with us and were patient while we tried a variety of couches. After we purchased the couch, it has been 2 months and still don't have a couch that isn't messed up. On February 3 we purchased a reclining couch set. We received the couch on February 10. On February 17 we called Ashley and provided photos that one of the reclining chairs is bent/not level. It took us a week to notice this since we had not used that seat. I asked for a new reclining couch piece and they said that we would have had to call withing 3 days of it being delivered, so now it's under the maintenance warranty we paid for. The same protection plan that if we didn't use in so many years (5 I think), could be a credit towards new furniture in the future. So within one week we already had to use the protection plan that we weren't even sure about purchasing. If we didn't, I guess we'd be totally out of luck. 2/19 and no one has followed up. I check in again and she says they have to send a new part. 3/15 still no part and I ask AGAIN to just replace the one reclining chair because this is supposed to be a new couch. She says again that it is maintenance now because it's past the 3 days. We are also past the 30 days to just return all of it while waiting on a part. Part arrives next day and is all bent and unusable because not packed or secured at all. I call and get another part ordered and they can't pick up this other gigantic part that is sitting in our garage. Second part arrives 3/29. I call for two days to schedule. On third day I text and they say we are scheduled for 5/17. They aren't doing the repair until 5/17 - more than 3 months after purchasing new couch. I would not buy anything from Ashley that could possibly need a repaired item (reclining couches, etc). I have asked for a corporate contact and they say I have it. At this point if we could we would just return the entire couch. We will never buy from Ashley again.

Revised: shopping experience was awesome, I was very excited to receive my new bedroom set I bought in February. I put the delivery on hold as I had just moved here and was still looking for a place. I finally scheduled my delivery for July 17th, and IT HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE! I wasn't home to receive the delivery, so I asked my mom to come over and stay until it got delivered. When the delivered it she stated that she wasn't sure if this was the set I originally bought, the man instantly handed her the paper to sign for the delivery because he was not going to take it back If it wasn't. (it was the correct furniture) They set up and put it all together to find out they don't have the legs for the bed. He said they would be back in 5-7 business days to bring them and put them on. Of course, I said no big deal right its only 5-7 days... well, I never heard from them, so about 2 weeks later, I called and asked what was going on. The guy I spoke to said they just needed 2 more weeks, and then they would come out. Waited.. and waited nothing. Finally called back, I think in late August about a month later, spoke to the lady and said they had some in the wearhouse and she scheduled me for September 10th. Never received a time frame for their arrival, but they showed up at 8 am. I had the flu and had taken some medicine and passed out and didn't even hear the doorbell. ( my fault), but I called to reschedule, and the girl told me they couldn't come back out to clayton until the end of OCTOBER! like your joking, right? I am making a pretty nice payment for this furniture and your telling me that going 3 months without the legs to this bed, mind you my mattress is on the floor because i cant put the boards on that hold the mattress without the legs, and you said 5-7 business days is acceptable and there is nothing you can do? I work weird hours and have multiple jobs, so yes, I did ask if they could just drop them at my door, but you know if I do that, it voids my warranty. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!! 400$ for a delivery, and you can't even complete your job or do what you say. Would definitely recommend not buying from them unless you have a uhaul and can walk out with it that day. I personally will never buy from them again. Thank you, ashley furniture for making me absolutely regret walking into your store. Also, be careful when giving them reviews when you leave or are at the store because your sales rep just wants the cash bonus with their commission. Customer service is also about follow through. Not just taking money and walking you out the door, then saying F you, when it's delivered incorrectly or damaged. BE BETTER. make them wait for their review tips and commission.

If I could give negative starts- I would! Do not purchase from this store. Not only was our sales person, Ed, completely incompetent so is the store manager. We purchased a bedroom set for an agreed upon price over Black Friday. Not only did Ed take 3 hours to put the paper work together, we were told we would get a receipt via email the day we purchased (11/18) which we never received. Fast forward to our delivery day (12/2) and the chest of drawers is missing from our order. We called and there was no chest on the order at all. We agreed to every piece being included in this sale and they still had yet provided any receipt of purchase with an itemized list or even a receipt of delivery. We call the store and Ed told us he would look into it and call us back, after 2 hours still no call. We called back to be brushed off again and told again he would call us back. I then receive an email with a receipt dated for this day 12/2 (not the day of purchase) which conveniently leaves off the chest in the itemized list, so I respond saying this is not an accurate receipt and we are still waiting for a call. Ed responds with he will pick back up on the issue tomorrow, mind you this is hours before the store closes and we have already paid for the furniture, we are paying customers he has surely made commission on that he is purposely blowing off. The manager has yet to take our call on the issue and Ed has been no help, saying he doesn’t remember the chest being part of the deal and I signed on the dotted line so the deal is done. He did not want to deal with us and we had been nothing but kind and just want what we are rightfully owed. Furthermore, if you do some research you can find almost every piece of furniture cheaper online than in the store, so they say you’re getting a deal in store but really that is just a blatant lie. One of the many lies we have been told. Don’t leave the store without a receipt of items you bought, they will certainly take advantage of you with no remorse or consideration for you as a customer. Don’t expect for them to make anything right or care that you even have an issue at all. Steer clear of this store and the employees, especially Ed!!!

EDIT: My furniture order was wrong and I am still dealing with getting this issue resolved. The sofa had the chaise on the wrong side and the full size bed was missing the bunkie board and storage compartment. Tara was pleasant as well as everyone I spoke to including customer service EXCEPT Samantha Vangieson the Senior General Manager. Samantha was very rude and lacked empathy. She was negative and tried to bully me into taking a discounted bunkie board when it should have been included in the original order. I let Samantha know that I was taking plenty of vacation/pto days off to rectify this issue, and she’s telling me that I didn’t order any of the things I’m asking for so I should just pay for it. I told her Tara ordered them in the store and told me I wouldn’t need a box spring with my trinnell bed. So yeah I didn’t technically order anything because I am not the sales associate that placed the order incorrectly. This is not to get on Tara because mistakes happen, but when those things happen, respect should take place in getting the issue resolved. Not someone talking down on you as if they aren’t running a business. Several times in the conversation with Samantha I had to ask her was she the General Manager because I couldn’t believe how she was speaking to me. At one point I asked her was she yelling because her voice was very elevated along with a nasty tone, unlike everyone else I had spoken to. Had I encountered someone like Samantha I would have NEVER ordered from Ashley furniture. As a Senior General Manager she needs some help with how she gives customer service. Overall this experience has been one that I do not wish on any consumer and I still do not have the issues fully resolved. The disrespect from today has really been too much for me. Tara was awesome! She gave me excellent customer service and was very attentive. I will definitely refer her to people. She made the shopping process wonderful and I enjoy her energy and how welcome I felt. I am very happy with my purchases.

Update: while the buying experience was great, what followed was anything but. My furniture deliveries were nothing short of a fiasco. During the first delivery, the king bed was missing screws so they had to return it. About half of the furniture was delivered here. During the second delivery, received most of what was remaining except there were 2 items that were supposed to be on the delivery but for some reason we’re not on the truck. Ok, fine. The third delivery was the worst. They attempted to re-deliver my bed. However, there was significant damage to the footboard. They were going to put it all together and then have someone come out to “fix” it. That type of damage wasn’t fixable so I refused delivery. Further, the coffee table had its legs broken off and the warehouse told the drivers to glue them back on and deliver, but they refused. They were literally broken off. The fourth delivery, had everything remaining except for the bed. However, they attempted to re-deliver the coffee table but the item brought was not at all what I ordered. It had to be sent back. Again. Finally on the 5th delivery the bed and coffee table both arrived, correct items and undamaged. By the time my bed was finally delivered and assembled, I discovered that the frame did not come with slats (even though I was sure to ask about them during the purchasing process and was assured they’d throw them in at no cost because my order was so large). Not only were there no slats, this type of bed frame doesn’t even have the ability to support slats so I had to separately buy a bunky board to support my mattress. Overall, it took nearly 2 months from the time I placed my order to having my final items delivered, during which time some items had to be delivered 3 times before they were right. The company really needs to reconsider the distribution outsourcing because the experience was horrendous. During this whole process, I had been regularly communicating with Greg N from the retail side, who told me he would try to get my delivery fees (about $600) refunded for all my troubles. I followed up with him a few times and he said he’d get back to me but never did. I finally gave up asking because I figured it wasn’t happening. Because of all of these problems, I’ve downgraded my review from 5 to 2. Greg working with me for as long as he did is the only thing keeping this from being a 1. While the shopping experience was great, everything that followed was terrible. The likelihood of me shopping here again is very low. Original: I had a phenomenal shopping experience at the Glenwood Ave Ashley location yesterday. I had a pretty large order (over 30 items) and they price-matched everything from the website and ended up saving me a ton of money on my order! Shoutout to Greg N, Greg B and manager Joe for making it all happen! You guys are amazing!

Selection is good and service in the store is good. However, that's where it ends. We purchased a bedroom set in December 2021. We understand the material shortage issues and had no issue waiting for the furniture. As of May, we have received everything except the bed. The bed was scheduled to arrive May 24th between 2 and 5 pm. At 7 pm, still no word from Ashley. We checked online and it time was changed, without notice to us, to 7 - 9 pm. At 930 we checked again and the delivery was canceled. Again, no notice. We called the next day and were told it would be 9 more days before they could reschedule the delivery. The truck was within 30 mins of our house but it's going to take more than a week to get back to us. That's absurd. After hours of phone calls, we reached one person that seemed to care. She told us she was able to schedule delivery for the next day (May 26) between 730 and 1030 am. As of 1130, no calls. No truck. We called back and again, we were told 9 days out. This company will lie to you and make every excuse. They claim they can't contact their drivers and can't control when deliveries are made. They act as if the deliveries are coming from a foreign country and speak a different language. The customer service is horrendous. As the largest furniture supplier in the states, they need to get their act together. I won't buy anything else from them. Happy to pay more for real customer service. Update 5/31/22: After speaking to several different people, we had the delivery of the bed scheduled for today. Original window was 1230 - 330. That didn't happen. No call. No notice. Checked online and time was changed to later window. Finally got a call after the first window of time closed saying it would be later. Truck finally arrived around 445. The guys brought the boxes upstairs, tore them open only to learn that the hardware to assemble it wasn't included. They carried everything back to the truck and left. Trash was left all over the house from the front door, all across the first floor l, up the stairs and into the bedroom (paper, Styrofoam, plastic). Another 100% failure by Ashley. It is almost laughable at this point.

I WILL NEVER EVER CHOOSE ASHLEY AGAIN Update: The experience has gone from bad to worst. Till now there is no date for delivery, no date for the replacement of the defective product, none are updating (neither the store, which is the worst of worst anyways nor Ashley as a corporate). Just simply took the money and are doing nothing. Please be warned and never resort to Ashley. There is no ethics in this place. Original Post: Pretty bad experience thus far. Paid in Nov-2021 and was assured that likely dates for delivery will be between mid feb-2022. But, got only a portion of the order. Also, the dining table set delivered had airline cracks on the table all over and we did not notice it at first, then after a couple of weeks it started to crack all around. Call up customer care and they said they replacement is nowhere near and any reselection that I like is not available, I am asking for a refund for the set and being made to run between pillar and post. Customer is routing the calls to store personal and store personal is routing me back to customer care, been like this three time on a single day. I have wasted 3 hours already on this and still no solution. In-store orders are good if the product you get has no issues, else we are in a soup. Also, store matches your orders with online price but they apply the discount in a very cunning way, all the items that could be delivered early without any issues are priced high and all items that takes time are priced low. So, if you happen to cancel the remaining orders, you would be ending up losing the most. I am not sure what do I do with a dining table that is falling apart with no dates in the vicinity and I had paid for these items long back. Mony is spent, no usable product and no solution in the vicinity. Beaware .... Note: Online orders are hassle free it seems as there is only one channel of communication you need to take care of. Think twice ...

Zero Stars! We purchased a chair from Ashley and was told it was in stock. Waited 2 weeks for Saturday delivery (not bad). 2 days before delivery was called and told 1:15 to 4:15. Ok 3 hours isn't a bad window. Delivery time came and went and I was called at 5 to be told it would be late. I believe I already figured that out. Was then told it would be 5:15-8:15. But looked at the route link they sent and we were 12th and they had just finished 5th. I'm thinking its not going to be 5:15 but whatever. Ok, change plans and stay home the rest of the night. Waited until 9 that night and nothing ever showed up. No call from anyone letting me know what was going on. Got on their customer service chat and was told there was nothing to be done until Tuesday but he would have someone call me first thing on Sunday. I have to say the gentleman there took my wrath in stride. Well Sunday morning passed and by 12:45 and no call (I know I wasn't patient, they had just opened at 12 but still) I called them. I was sent to main customer service, was put on hold (23rd in line) I just had them call me back. Took a little while for someone to call but only to find out that I needed to speak to the store which they transferred me only to. I again found out that they couldn't do anything until the delivery company was open again on Tuesday. but they would try to get something done and would call me back on Monday. I'm sure you can guess by now but again no call. Since then I have spent the last few days with me reaching out to them because no one ever calls me. Finally being told it will be delivered again the next Saturday (which I had to fight for that), but still not being told a time frame. When asked they said it would be a window of time again. I requested first delivery and considering I already wasted one day on it I don't believe that was a big ask. I mean deliveries have to start somewhere right, why not me this time. Nope they wouldn't do it. I was told it was planned by the delivery company and they have no control. Seriously? I'm pretty sure they pay that delivery service (for well their service) and should have a little say in what happens. I was also told several times I should feel lucky that I'm getting it as soon as I am because they have customers that have been waiting for months for stuff they ordered. Not the right thing to say to me after signing for a $750 chair. I guess I should be so lucky to have them take my money. I finally told them to keep their furniture. Then they couldn't give Us (my wife, god love her jumped in at this point for the sake of my sanity and blood pressure) a straight answer on if I would be charged a fee for canceling. After them telling us they would contact us (of course they didn't) I sent an email to our sales person (the only way I could reach that person directly) I was finally told we wouldn't be charged. My thought is If you can't coordinate your deliveries properly or fulfil orders then don't sell the items. Also if you need to call customer service be prepared to wait a long time to talk to someone or get a call back. Yesterday afternoon I was 128th in line on hold. A little trick... select 3 for placing a new order. The line is a lot shorter and they will still help you! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

*Update* I emailed the response below and never heard back. After just 5 months our recliner no longer reclines and something is broken internally. I no longer have the patience to deal with this company any further. I will never give this business any of my money again. Look for a company that values you as a customer and the products they sell. This company is not it! I have never been so frustrated with a purchase in my entire life. We ordered at the end of June. While we were in the store, I checked out their website and noticed that the pricing online was significantly cheaper than in store. I brought it up to the sales associate, and she said they do price matching online, but I would have to ask to receive it in person. Thank goodness I checked online before we placed our order! We saved $700 just by doing this, which didn’t seem very honest for the people trying to sell in store... very shady if you ask me. We were given an estimated delivery date of August 29th. The sales person said many times that there would be no problem getting the furniture there that date, but it was still an estimate. Our move in date comes, only one piece is delivered on time. We waited an additional 5-6 weeks for the couch. Our recliner is really what has been so frustrating. It’s now December 12th. We have a scheduled delivery, after 5-6 rescheduled dates. They give us a time frame of 12:30-3:30. They are now behind, and we have to miss our dinner plans that we’ve had for a month because they will now arrive after 5pm. But if we were to reschedule it would cost us a $75 reschedule fee. What about all of the times that Ashley has rescheduled on us?! In addition, if you miss their phone call when they are rescheduling, and try and call back, you’ll be 101st in line, even with missing the phone call by only 2 minutes! I tried to cancel my order a month ago because I was tired of waiting for our last item. They begged me to keep the order even though they still couldn’t give me a set date it would arrive. They said after it’s delivered, a manager would call and see how he could help me with my troubles and accommodate something. I asked what that would be, and they said we would have to work it out? This company is so shady and not honest with delivery times. I will never purchase from here again and I wholeheartedly regret getting a credit card with them to save a few extra dollars. Do not buy from here!!! Try and find a company you can trust, because this isn’t the one!

This company is by far the worst place to get furniture from. I placed an order in the store and was there for almost 4 hours all for my entire order to be a complete mess. The order consisted of a bed room set, living room set, and dinning room set which were all schedule to be delivered on three different dates. With the first delivery for (09/15) I received a phone call stating that I will be getting my dinning set, headboard, footboard, and mattress set. However, The only Thing that I received that day was a mattress. I was told that my order was canceled and that he box springs were never apart of my order. Also, I can’t forget to include that they had all of my things listed to be delivered at the incorrect address in a totally different city from where I actually live. I was told on three occasion that was updated and that didn’t actually happen until the fourth time I spoke with someone. So because someone within their company canceled my order instead of updating the address I was forced to settle with my items for the first delivery being pushed to October 6. Now the second delivery was scheduled for 09/29. I received a phone call early in the afternoon stating that the guys were running a little late and my time was being pushed from 5pm to 6pm-9pm. I sat at home waiting all to received a phone call at 7:59 pm stating the delivery drivers ran out of hours and they will not be making a delivery to me. The rep informed me that it was then my responsibility to contact their customer care center and get them to reschedule. So this was now the second time that me as the customer had to get the short end of the stick and settle for not getting my furniture because of their company’s issues. The customer service when speaking with people is terrible and it’s seems nobody can actually answer any questions that I have called with. I was told once I called about the “delivery my guys running out of hours” that the statement didn’t make sense but the next available date would be November 3. Which is another month of having no furniture. I would not suggest anyone to go here and purchase anything not even a coffee table. Everyone’s answer to things is “I apologize, we can definitely compensate you” and that too is a false statement.

This company can not get out of its own way, and you will pay the price. We purchased three bedroom sets April 18th 2020. Delivery was scheduled for May 9th. Delivery day came, and the installers did not have the hardware needed for my son's bed. The called and had new hardware ordered. They did not let us know we had the option to send the bed back and have a new one sent out, and that by accepting this one, we could not return it. The new hardware came, and a new install date was scheduled. The next team of installers came and discovered it was the wrong hardware. The installer argued with customer care for 20-30 minutes about the 12 screws needed. The customer care rep told him he was sending a kit with six screws because that is what was shown. I tried to contact our salesman, Nathan Long, to see if he could help. We never heard back from him. He will be your best friend during the purchase, but clearly does not care to retain customers after the he's made his commission. The new kit arrived, and the screws were not even long enough to connect the pieces needed. I called customer care and after being treated rudely, and getting disconnected (with no call back), I called and spoke to a friendly rep who informed me the hardware they sent last time was for my other son's bed. She then said she was ordering every piece of hardware associated with the correct bed, and guaranteed it would have the needed hardware. That kit arrived and it still didn't have the correct screws. So now it is June 25th, 2020, and I'm still staring at a disassembled bed. Customer care had to call the manufacturer to find the screws, and are hoping to hear back that they are available. I'm still being told it cannot be returned because I accepted delivery. I was also offered a whopping $25 price adjustment for the inconvenience with the condition that no other future compensation can be made including returns or exchanges. Each time be hardware was ordered, it took 7-10 days to get it. I was told they could not expedite shipping on the hardware. We had purchased from this store in the past and had planned on buying a living room set in the near future. Now, I will take my business elsewhere.

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW! SAVE YOURSELF! I will NEVER and I mean NEVER buy another item from this company. It should have been a red flag to me when the store associate in Raleigh, NC mentioned the bad reviews online and said that, “well you know sometimes things happen and you can’t please everyone and how customers will make something out of nothing.” That said, let me embark you on This horrific journey I’ve been on. I came into the store was greeted by 6 different people while looking around all of which were eager to help me. I finally find something I want and they ran my credit and had me approved and out the door so fast! I couldn’t believe how fast the transaction was completed and before I left I went to look at some accessories they had on sale and when I was leaving out the sales rep was already running another persons credit! DANG... it’s a chop shop for furniture. Anywho... furniture ordered on 10/18/19 and delivery was scheduled for 11/24/19. Okay, I wasn’t happy about that time frame but I had a couch in the meantime so I was fine with it. My entire purpose in buying the new living room set was because I had family coming in town for Thanksgiving and my current couch wouldn’t be enough for everyone. That said, I got a call on 11/22/19 confirming my delivery for 11/24, I’m excited. Here 11/24 (yesterday) comes and goes my delivery window was scheduled for 10:30am to 1:30pm but I have no furniture. At 1:45pm I called the store I purchased the furniture from and she told me they were having system issues and couldn’t look up anything. She gave me a number to call that kept hanging up on me. I gave them 30 minutes and called back, the SAME “manager” answered the phone by the name of Missy (who sounded like death sucking on a life savor and needed to be at home) told me she was going to put me on hold and find out something. While I’m on hold this heffer accidentally CALLED ME from a different line and I can hear her conversing with other people in the office. The conversation went like this, “well I don’t know what to tell him” and “just tell him the delivery truck had an accident” and they finally decided to tell me “the system is still down.” She comes back on the other line and says, “yes our systems are still down and I’ve sent an email (which I want to know how it’s down but you can email) but I have no way of actually reaching my delivery driver.” By this time I’ve realized my blood is boiling so I hang up the phone and call ANOTHER Ashley store (the one on Capital in Raleigh, NC) and explained all of what happened there, she told me that I could look my order up online and track where it was at. We did this together only to realize my order had been “cancelled” so she explained it could have been several reasons and that she couldn’t personally do anything but she recommend I call customer service in the morning. So, here I am with No living room furniture PLUS I had sold my old living room set the evening before because my delivery was confirmed to be on time. Here we are Monday morning and I called customer service. I explain everything to the lady that answers. I also explain I have NO FURNITURE and thanksgiving is Thursday and I’ll have family at my house with no where for them to sit. She tells me the earliest she can get it out to me will be Dec 01. WHERE IN THE HELL WILL MY FAMILY SIT DURING THANKSGIVING? They’re flying in from out of town it’s not like I can just change the location. This is where it begins to get hilarious. I asked for a supervisor and she tells me I’ll have to call back because they have limited staff. I asked, what time do the supervisors come in she tells me 12 noon. Where I come from that’s when people take lunch not when they come to work. I digress. Please, Please, please, please please... TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. If you don’t believe this happens to a lot of people google the warehouse for Ashley in fort mill SC. Their first 10 reviews were all related to BS delivery situations.

If I could give zero stars I would. I originally typed up a great review because we recieved great service the day we purchased our furniture. It seems though with this store that once your card is swiped and the three day grace period is over they all of a sudden have no intention on helping you or getting your furniture to you in a timely manner. We waited 2 1/2 weeks for our furniture because they said the area we lived in was only delivered to every 2 weeks this was after we were told we should have it much sooner and the sales associate would do everything she could to get it to us right away. (First lie and obviously told to us before we paid for our furniture). Even though we placed the order days before a truck would be delivering to our area they still said we would have to wait an additional two weeks and pay $100 to have it delivered. When the furniture arrived Our bed was damaged and couldn’t not be assembled. It took them another week to send us a piece to fix it and make it usable. When I asked them to over night it to us they were very rude about it and said no even though it was their fault we couldn’t use our bed. Thecustomer care flat out refused to let me speak with a store manager to get my problem resolved properly, and when I did end up being able to get through to the store I was told I would get a call back from a manager that day and never recieved one. By the time the piece got to us our mattress was completely ruined because of the way the delivery guy leaned it up against the wall. We were told we would have to wait another 2 weeks to have someone come look at it.... I have been given the run around and told lies left and right. These people will tell you anything to get you off the phone. I am still waiting on a $100 refund that I was promised 3 weeks ago, and I am still (4 weeks later) without a mattress and a bed. I was told that they would upgrade our mattress to a better one to help compensate for the fact that we’ve been sleeping on the couch since early June. The manager was supposed to call me yesterday to tell me which one we were getting and to set up delivery. Instead I got a call from customer care telling me they would be delivering the same exact mattress and I would be waiting an additional week to recieve it. I asked them to have the manager call me and she never did. We are considering legal action at this point. This is the second and last horrific experience we have encountered with Ashley furniture. I recommend that anyone who wants to keep their sanity and get what they pay for should shop elsewhere.

I came in with an online AD from the Ashleys website for the same recliner they were advertising instore - showing at 25% off. The salesman says to me "Yeah, but that was yesterday. Its not on sale anymore". Okay, fine. I missed the sale. No big deal. So I'm looking around the store for anymore sales deals when a completely different associate comes up to me and tells me they can sell me that same recliner for 25% off the retail price just as it had been listed on the website. I go to purchase it and the price that comes up is STILL for the full amount. In fact it's almost 1/3rd higher than the listed sales price was online. Salesman is staring blankly at me like everything still makes sense - before I exclaim I'm not paying extra for a recliner they just told me seconds ago, WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DISCOUNTED! So I'm an idiot, because I leave the store and give them my phone number so that if the price goes down in the near future, I'll come back. What a mistake, because a week later I get a call that the same recliner is on sale again now. Online it still says 25% percent off like it always had. Show up in person AGAIN like a schmuck and the recliner still isn't 25% off once we get to the register. Instead its 1/3rd the original price higher than its being listed for online just like it was before. I show this to the salesman via my smartphone who gives some crappy excuse that the online price doesn't account for (mysterious?) in-store fees. Okay? So, you're saying don't buy anything in the physical store anymore and only purchase furniture online from now on? Otherwise you'll rip me off and not just charge extra, but A THIRD EXTRA on the retail price? Associate then exclaims long list of bogus fees, including a potential $129 delivery fee that shouldn't have been included in the total cost because I explained I had my own vehicle to take the recliner home myself. "You would still have to pay the delivery fee though" he's telling me. What *#!$ing delivery fee? I don't understand what that even means! I WOULD PHYSICALLY TAKE THE RECLINER HOME IN MY OWN VEHICLE MYSELF THAT VERY DAY! I literally walked out in midsentence. He was waiting for a manager to answer a phone or something and I just straight walked away while he was in the middle of blabbering about how he never got cigarette breaks or something. So frustrated with this place. Complete waste of my time and I will never go back. No wonder they are the worst rated furniture store on Glenwood.

Absolutely disappointing! Ordered a complete bedroom set, had it scheduled for delivery and setup in exactly a week, paid cash, and left thinking all was well....boy were we wrong! Furniture got delivered as promised a week later, but the hardware was missing from the headboard. The driver said it would be handled within 24 hours and we'd hear back. 48 hours later, after still not hearing anything, we called to followup. We were told the notes were in the system, but nothing had been ordered. Why? So the ordered the parts and had them shipped to our house...we were told 10-14 days....I told them I wanted them overnighted and they told me that it wasn't an option because thas a different company that ships them?!?!? Ok, fine... I wanted to get hardware and assemble myself, but was told that that would void our coverage warranty that we paid an additional $500 for....so now we're being double punished for paying cash and not being able to use our new bed... 2 weeks later, the hardware arrives...but it's incorrect...I call back, they tell me it's going to be another 2 weeks....unacceptable!!! They finally, after our 10th conversation in almost 3 weeks, finally agree to send a whole new headboard, which will arrive and be assembled in 5 days...5 days later, it arrives, the installers take the hardware from the new headboard and assemble our bed...which should've been done 3 weeks prior. The following day, we get a call from ashley furniture customer service wanting to know when we can schedule to have our bed assembled....is there no communication? Does anyone read the notes? Does anyone care about the customer service? It feels like once they get your money, their done! I definitely will not be buying our kitchen set from them as originally planned! Or anything else! And I will strongly discourage anyone that I know from going there and having the same terrible experience that we had!!

Wish I could give zero stars. I'm a dentist, and I understand the importance and hold myself to a high standard with regards to customer service, and this place blows. Wish I had read these ratings before I had ordered as much stuff as I had. I've been up to their store (good luck trying to take care of the problem over the phone) FOUR times over the past month since I bought their stuff trying to figure out where the hell my stuff is as they will only deliver one piece at a time. The day I bought my stuff, the sales associate said everything was in stock and would arrive within 2 weeks. The first time it's schedule, the deliver guy never came. I get a call saying he's going to be 30-45 mins behind. Then he doesn't show. I stormed up to the store that night to figure out what the hell is going on. I had just paid someone to house sit and receive the furniture while I was at work. The sales manager's response is "oh well you know how it's hard to find good help..." That's not my problem. He made excuses and blames another dept. We get it scheduled again. I pay someone to stay at my apartment during their scheduled time to deliver. They deliver ONE PIECE of my order. I was irate! The delivery guys told the person that was house sitting "yeah it may be another six weeks before it is all received. We've had a lot of customers calling upset." They told me at the store everything within 2 weeks. So I stormed up to the store again to find out what the hell is going on. Finally got great help and backing from one lady. She made all these calls and said "we will make this up to you and schedule everything whenever you want. Everything is in stock and there is no reason why you shouldn't receive all of it then." I said great, case closed. Or so I thought. We got everything confirmed the day before the deliver. 730pm that night I get a call saying "we're sorry we can't get everything delivered so we'll have to reschedule." I finally had enough and told them they can keep it. I'm riding up there today to cancel. If this is the best they can do, then their furniture isn't that great. Point is there are 10-20 other furniture stores on that road. I strongly urge you to pick one of them for your furniture buying needs. Very disappointed former customer

HORRIBLE customer service. Do not shop here! I never ever write reviews, even when I'm disappointed with something, but hopefully this review will save someone the hassle that we've gone through! Unfortunately, Ashley Furniture has really great furniture pieces - but their customer service and delivery services are TERRIBLE. We purchased a bed frame over a year ago and it was delivered in one week with no problem. So when we bought a new house and were looking for a big sectional, the first place we went to look was Ashley Furniture. The woman helping us was incredibly rude, but we did find a couch that we absolutely loved, so we ordered it. Our sales woman then informed us AFTER we gave her our credit card that the couch could not be delivered for over a month due to a "furniture strike" in CA. Seemed a little weird, but OK, we really loved the couch so we would wait for it. They also DO NOT let you pick up your own furniture. It must be delivered, to the tune of over $100 (I believe our delivery fee is $170!!!) We scheduled a delivery for June 2nd. I got multiple emails/texts/calls (why does this need to happen? 1 call or text or email would suffice) on June 1 confirming our delivery. Then I got a call later from the distribution center saying that they were still waiting on 2 pieces of our couch to be shipped to them to deliver. I was upset that after waiting over a month, and after getting multiple confirmations, that our couch could not be delivered on time. I asked about refunding the delivery fee for the hassle, as I had planned to stay home from work on June 1, but they said they couldn't refund anything until after it was delivered. Fine. We rescheduled for a June 5th delivery. Once again, I get multiple calls, emails, and texts (I'm talking 2 calls, 2 texts, and 2 emails) confirming the delivery of the couch. I confirm every one. I JUST received a call from the distribution center - lo and behold - they're still missing one piece of our couch! We have rescheduled again for a Sunday delivery, but THIS IS INSANE. I can't keep changing my work schedule for a furniture delivery! My life does not involve sitting at home, twiddling my thumbs, waiting for these people to finally show up. Please, please, please save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. This company's customer service and delivery service is atrocious. It's a shame too, because I really like a lot of their furniture. Unfortunately, it will probably take another month to get the piece of furniture we purchased over a month ago into our house. I will never shop here again.

I would not buy from Ashley Furniture. I purchased furniture in Raleigh and I am very displeased with the service that has been provided to me in getting this furniture delivered. It is 1/21/2015 and I am still trying to get a piece of furniture delivered. The original delivery date was 12/12/14, when they delivered, they didn't have the mattress on the truck, they had no explanation as to why it wasn't on the truck and the delivery driver didn't know it wasn't loaded to begin with. I had to schedule a time to get my mattress. Got it delivered on 1/3/15 however the box springs needed to be exchanged out so they scheduled delivery for 1/9/15 between the hours of 5pm-8pm. I got a call and was told they were running late and it would be 6pm-9pm. I got a call at 9:15pm telling me they didn't have my box springs on the truck, AGAIN! This is a theme with Ashley Furniture. I called on 1/10/15 to find out when they were going to deliver my box springs and was told someone will call me that day. No phone call. I had to call on 1/12/15 to find out and was sent to an automated system that told me it was scheduled for 1/23/15. Glad someone called to tell me. I get my confirmation call for delivery on 1/23/15 between 11am-2pm. I press the appropriate number to reschedule because the time frame doesn't work for me, you can't get through to a live person. I left a message for someone to call me to schedule another time and no one has returned my call. The next phone call I get is the automated phone service still trying to confirm deliver date of 1/23/15 from 11-2. I press the appropriate option to reschedule and still can't get through. I have to call the store number to get through to someone who can help me reschedule my deliver. Right now it is for 1/24/15. One customer service rep offered some store credit but that doesn't do me any good considering I would not buy from Ashley Furniture again. I bought an entire bedroom suit and king size mattress and box spring set. Spent a great amount of money for this headache and hassle. Of course when you talk to the store where you purchase the items to see if they will do anything for, all they do is apologize and say sorry we aren't the delivery department. No one has stepped up to take ownership of getting this taken care of for me. I was just on hold for 30 minutes to try to speak to someone in customer service or corporate and then it went to a voicemail. I will be glad when this is over.
