This Place Almost Cost Me My Job I walked into Ashley Furniture looking for a decent mattress. I walked out with a Tempur-Pedic so comfortable it nearly ruined my career. I’ve been sleeping so hard, I’ve slept through alarms, phone calls, and—most importantly—morning responsibilities. The worst part? I work for myself. I’m literally my own boss, and I’m considering writing myself up. The staff was helpful, the delivery was smooth, and now I’m trapped in a cycle of incredible sleep and self-inflicted tardiness. 10/10 would lose my livelihood again. Thanks, Ashley. I may be broke and unemployed someday, but at least I’ll be well-rested.

I will never buy furniture anywhere else. I love my purchase. Great value for the money. Lindsay, my sales consultant was very knowledgeable and patient. In fact everyone working there was friendly, kind, and accommodating (even offered my granddaughter & I homemade cookies). I highly recommend this store. The delivery was excellent, the manager Mr. Que, Dennis, and Dray made the delivery a pleasure. They were professional and very accommodating. Excellent Customer Service on the delivery as well!

Big shout out to Lisa Walther, You are amazing. I appreciate you so much for turning my bad experience with “Freedom Furniture” not allowing us to exchange our broken couches into a great experience here at Ashely’s. I was so worried I would not have a place to sit with my family for weeks. She went out of her way knowing the situation we were in and asking her manager if we could leave with a couch today. So glad the manager understood our situation and allowing us to take a piece home today. Thank you Lisa and manager for the great customer service. Go see her y’all. She also has a great sense of humor and was willing to help us with all the numbers and figuring out the best budget for us. We are definitely pleased with this store, Lisa and the nice employees. We went today looking for a reclining 3 seat couch, and were happy with the variety to choose from. Travis worked with us, let us check out as much of the furniture as we wanted, he was very friendly, and VERY knowledgeable. He provided some of the best customer service we have ever experienced here in Sumter. We plan on coming back and working with him from now on for any of our upcoming furniture needs. The store has a few different payment options, a great furniture protection plan option, delivery, and the quality of what we are purchasing is great. We definitely recommend this location.

I went in on a Saturday morning to purchase a foundation/box spring for a bed. It appeared that the employees were having their daily team meeting, but after a few minutes of walking around an associate broke away and offered her help. I was able to see a couple of examples in the showroom of what they had available in stock and then made a selection. I also needed it delivered and was able to get it delivered in just a couple of days. I appreciate the simple buying experience and for not attempting to sell me anything more than what I came in for.

I have not shopped for furniture in about 10 years. On a whim, I google furniture stores near me an Ashley appeared. I figure swinging in there was my excuse for getting sushi on the way home. In stealth mode (at least I thought I was), I walked in looking at furniture. I turn the corner and there was Lisa Walther with a warm, welcoming smile and enthusiastic greeting. She attended to me through my entire visit including my final decision and my validation calls. Lisa was attentive, compassionate and patient with me the entire time. Even the store manager chimed in with great discussion. The overall ambience was so relaxing and down to earth. It was an absolutely great experience to get our first furniture in Sumter from Ashley. The people here are nice and very welcome. They are very helpful to find the right things you need. Competitive price. Luckily, we came in the right time when they had sales on almost everything. We got a bedroom set, couch, and purple mattress, and we are so satisfied 😌

My bestie/sister and I visited Ahsley's on 1/31/24. It was a very difficult time for her. But the Lord allowed us to have a wonderful experience on this day. The sales associate Lisa was phenomenal and the store manager was as well. Everything my sister wanted and needed to make a smooth transition was right at her finger tips. We bought this beautiful loveseat from Ashley Furniture about a month ago. It was ordered and then was delivered today. DJ and Dennis delivered and set it up. They were both so very nice, professional and helpful, explaining all the great functions on this loveseat, like charging your phone by dropping in into the charging slot on the arm, and being able to charge another item at the same time with your charging cord plugged it. There is a console in the middle for storing the remote and charging cords, a place for your drinks, and each arm lifts up for more storage! We appreciate and thank DJ and Dennis and Ashley Furniture!!!

Today my family had the pleasure of having Robert Williams & DJ deliver our new bedroom set. Robert was extremely polite and friendly, even taking time to answer the question of my very inquisitive 5 yr old.

I ordered an adjustable bed for my elderly mother-in-law. The guys that delivered the bed were so nice to her. She a very small person so the bed had to be adjusted to the lowest height. The furniture has great quality and I love the help that I got.

Just got my furniture yesterday from Ashley Furniture and the Q and Sav delivered it for me and they were very careful, courteous, and patient even though I had them rearrange it a little to make it just right. And I know those couches are heavy! They even arranged the pillows in a nice way before they left. Also, Lazette helped me find what I wanted and she was very helpful, thoughtful, and experienced.

Can’t sing enough praises for Q, who delivered my furniture recently!!! He was very accommodating and attentive to my delivery and placement of the furniture, all the while representing Ashley in the most professional manner! Their items are waaaaay expensive and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone bc if their prices.

I purchased numerous pieces of furniture from the Ashley Home Store in Sumter, SC and due to my experience they have lost a life-long customer. While I waited “months” for my furniture (ordered in July 2021 and delivered in the spring 2022), I had to call numerous times to determine what the status of my order was. I had to have pieces fixed after the fact because we noticed imperfections in the furniture (“uneven doors) after they were delivered. In May I called and let the store know a door to my Buffet Server won’t close properly. As expected, while they claim the part was ordered we never get any updates. The last time we checked it’s on back-order (problem still not solved). I’d rather deal with a door that doesn’t close than deal any more with this company that doesn’t care to follow-up with their customers (one of which I am no longer). Buyers Beware of lengthy waits (my furniture was actually sitting for months in their warehouse) and poor customer service.

Had a great experience with Matt. He was very professional and helped us find the perfect mattress. We sleep so much better now and I can’t even feel my boyfriend get in and out of the bed. We also love our powerbase while watching TV. The whole set came in faster than expected. Highly recommend him and the whole Ashley team. We will be back!

Will never use them again for furniture. We purchased our furniture in October and were told it would all arrive within 90 days. It’s now the end of March and we’re still missing furniture - to include our daughters bedroom set and our dining room table which they have pushed NUMEROUS times and have now told us won’t come until end of JUNE. Instead of being decent and giving us our money back so we can get a table for our family, they told us they’d charge us a “restock fee” which is funny because if the table/items aren’t coming until June - why do they need to be “restocked”? They don’t care about people. We spent over $15k in that store to have them not want to give us $3k back for a table.

Really enjoyed my impromptu visit after a conversation with Austin. He was absolutely fantastic. I had all kinds of questions and requests that he patiently answered. Austin showed me every line of furniture that I had found on line and gladly worked with me to see what lines worked together well. He could relate to the husband/wife dilemma of liking different styles: one contemporary and the other traditional. I shared Austin's suggestions with the better half and she sent me back for more of Austin's insight. Once again, I was not disappointed! Go see Austin! He'll take great care of you! I had a wonderful furniture shopping experience because of my awesome sales rep Brandon. He was very nice, patient, and so understanding. He did everything he could to be sure that we made the best purchase for our new home. Even the long drive to Columbia to deliver our furniture didn't stop the Sumter Ashley from getting our business. Our furniture came in earlier than expected and was even more beautiful than the set up in store. Brandon also explained to us the benefit of purchasing a Tempur-pedic ergo smart base for our bedroom and it is must from now on. The furniture is great… that I received. We were told our delivery would take no longer than 90 days. In fact, we were told it never takes longer than 90 days. However, we have almost reached the 90 day mark and I was just told I still have to wait another seven weeks. Save yourself the hassle if you want furniture this quarter. *****RESPONSE TO BUSINESS RESPONSE **** If you really do care and are trying to improve, it would be nice if you didn’t intentionally mislead your customers and just told them it will take up to 6 months or so to get the furniture due to supply issues. And maybe also waive the 20%+ restocking fee if customers opt to cancel their orders.

Came to the store the other day with my naggy wife. Walking in I was already was in a bad mood. Having to listen to her complain about of current living room set for months on end would drive anyone up a wall. I finally agreed to get a new set with the understand we go to a different place than the store we usually shop at. That brought us here. Like I said walking in I was already in a horrible mood looking to just get this process over with to hopefully shut my wife up. After being in the store for no more than 5 minutes we were greeted by an extremely sincere young lady by the name of Ciara Noyes. After speaking with her about what we were looking at she walked with us around the store showing us multiple different options. I was very impressed and pleased with her knowledge of the items she was showing. She answered every question we had and answered question before we could even ask them. This world needs more people like this who take there job seriously and actually care. We ended up buying multiple pieces of furniture. I left in a better mood than when I walked in and my wife left very happy as well. It’s been a few weeks since receiving all our furniture and my naggy wife has not nagged since. I owe this young lady a huge thank you! If you go to the store, I highly recommend you find her.

Over priced

I first went to the website in search of a mattress, found one over 50% off that I really liked, only downside was the 3-4 week shipping, so I went down to this store, where not only I got the mattress for the price on the website, but I also was able to bring it home in less than an hour. Employees are amazing and extremely helpful

Will Never order Anything from here again!! The day of receiving my brand new mattress from here I called the store and spoke to the manager immediately telling him how it was as hard as a brick and even an 18 wheeler running it over wouldn’t make it any softer..he assured me it would be just like the “cloud-like super soft” store model within a few weeks and how it is illegal in the state of S.C. to take the mattress back even though I called the very same day I received it! He said all I could do is purchase another mattress!!?? So I’m SOL of well over $1000 for a mattress I can’t even sleep on without being in unbearable pain! False advertisement at it’s finest and completely different mattresses from the store models!! It’s been SEVERAL months and the mattress is still as hard as a brick!! Also I was informed several times by the employee who sold me a queen bedroom set along with the mattress that my monthly payments for both would be $20 or less!! My monthly payments are well over $300 a month, a car payment for just a bedroom set and mattress! I was so excited to finally have a soft mattress just like the store model I ordered and then to receive the one I did is just disappointing.. I’m a single mother who works so hard for every dime I have all to be lied to multiple times and now responsible for paying so much $ for a mattress that leaves me in pain everyday ! Never order from this store!! You will be lied to all for them to take your $ and leave you very unhappy!! This is the first review I have ever left on anything but anyone shopping here needs to know the ugly truth! As for your response below “from the owner “ don’t try to play it like that because of the review! I spoke to you Personally over the phone and you Insisted You could not take a mattress back legally because you couldn’t “resale” it in the state of S.C. and that my Only Option was to purchase a Second mattress, so don’t lie on a review making yourself the victim!!! This is definitely your store/ location! The several times I contacted Duke Singleton about it and calling your store to speak to you, Nothing was done about any of it! All of you are in it for the money only and do not care about the customers satisfaction, you all even made it sound as a joke when I called with concerns about the mattress! I have to give a big shot out to Ashleys for the wonderful experience and an even bigger thank you to Alex Beaton (yes I remember his last name because I made him spell it for me) and his exceptional customer service! I recently moved to Sumter from Georgia and needed new furniture. I’m a very indecisive person so I went in feeling sorry for the poor soul who had to help me. By the luck of the draw Alex was my furniture guru. After sitting on almost every single piece of furniture in the place, I finally decided on my perfect matches! Alex was so kind and patient as we went from piece to piece. He did not rush me nor make me feel like I had to buy anything I didn’t want to. It was a really great experience and I couldn’t be more excited to have my new furniture!

Lanzette was very helpful, professional and courteous. I chose my bed online, but went to store to order, she put it thru even giving me the online price. When delivery was made, delivery men put it together and removed cartons. Very satisfied with the service and assistance provided.

Don't buy into their giant monitor they can show you colors they don't have in stock on. We brought a pillow in from our new couch ( that we thankfully didn't buy from Ashley's) and found a perfectly matching recliner...on their monitor. 3 weeks later it comes in and I get it in the house. Not even in the same color family. Yes the tag matches what we ordered. After reading all the BS others have gone through trying to get satisfaction from Ashley's, Im not even going to bother. I'll stick it in a room where no one can see it, and never shop at Ashley's again before I let them keep 25% of my money for lying to me regarding what I was buying. Aside from all of that, while we were confirming they just didn't ship up the wrong chair, it's $150 cheaper online. We needed to buy a COMPLETE house worth of furniture for a family of 5. It was quite the undertaking and Lazette Anderson helped to make it a fun and easy day; we even enjoyed fresh baked cookies! This was the first place that we went to and were surprised by the selection and quality of products, but mostly by how helpful and nice the everyone was. We did check out other places and nothing compared to selections, options on packages, and helpfulness of the employees. We found exactly what we needed and were looking for and were treated like we were friends. Channing and Josh were extremely patient with us as we went back and forth on what we wanted, and helped us customize our packages to the get most out of what we were looking for. Everything was handled smoothly and even since purchasing our choices they have reached out to update us with when everything is arriving. This has bee the most enjoyable and relaxing furniture experience we have ever had. There is no better place to go, and this could easily be your first and only stop.

Great furniture just wish they would get a handle on delievy and payments arrangements there... paying a month payment already for furniture I've only had 3 days so far... B.C. it took a month to get it in... they should set your payments a month after you get it .. crazy

Ashley's has the worst customer service I've ever had to experience. I asked the woman that sold me my couch if it couldn't be delivered by a certain date that I didn't want to buy anything from Ashley's because I needed a sofa by that certain date she assured me at that time that it would be knowing because she works there and knows on average how long it takes a sectional to deliver decides to lie to make a sale and tells me that it could be anyways. So when I called on the date that I told her I needed my couch Another sales associate informs me that there's no way that my sectional could've been delivered in just a weeks time because they have to put in the order A warehouse has to loaded it up after they get the order and I have to hope there's not someone's order that's ahead of my order gets on the truck before anyone else because They only have so much truck space and so much room. Which I completely understand because that sounds logical. But I asked these questions for reason and the lady that I spoke with that sold me the couch lie because she wanted to make the sale and told me that it could be. I also brought my sales associate a picture of my living room and measurements of exactly how long I needed My sectional to be on each side. I told her that I needed exactly 7' x 7' and explained to me that the sectional comes disassembled and I can make each side however long I wanted it. So I told her again I needed each side to be 7 foot long. She puts in my order and tells me that it is 7 foot by 7 foot. OK perfect. So how much three weeks after I order the sectional. Two very nice men deliver it. It comes into pieces, The couch side is 7 foot they put it on the farthest wall because that's the only place you can go and I was happy because that couch was 7 foot, then they bring in the second part of the couch and is this tiny little loveseat that they attached to the 7 foot couch, it's only 48 inches but whenever you use one of the cushions from the 7 foot couch it makes it 7 foot too but it's not 7 foot on it's own which is what I asked for specifically and made VERY clear with pictures and measurements. It annoys me more that she lie just trying to make a sale because I would've still bought the same couch I just would've had the longer side on the back of my wall in the shorter side on the other side so she still could've made a sale but now I had to put in an order for a whole new couch which just makes the situation even worse. So when these two very nice delivery guys delivering my couch and it's wrong and they understand what's wrong they take pictures type up a report I see it take a picture of the report and sign a copy of the report and they assure me that their report from their little iPad goes directly to Ashley's store in Sumter and they put an order for a new couch from there and that someone would call me within the next couple days to let me know that they put in the order. I wait a couple of days nobody calls me. So I called them the lady didn't tell me she didn't see my new order put in she just kept putting me on hold and told me that she'd call me back, needless to say she never called me back I gave her a couple days and I don't hear anything back. So on Black Friday it's now been two weeks so I call again. The woman that I spoke with told me that she couldn't find my new delivery order but the warehouse manager would know where its at that she was going to go find him. She put me on hold twice for about a minute long apiece which I don't feel like is enough time for you to "go find him" but she takes down my name and number and again assures me that she's gonna call me back when she does find him because it's Black Friday and they're busy.

The staff was very friendly and helped us find what we were looking for. A home-made chocolate chip cookie was an unexpected (and delicious) treat so thanks! They helped us get the best deal possible and looking forward to receiving our furniture in the next month.

Very low quality customer service, and low, unproffesional sales, and bad management! Never buy furniture or furniture warranty(if you did not make any damages claims) through the Sumter store, as they never refund you the warranty back or give you furniture equaling what you paid for warranty, this store claims that all Ashley stores do not refund your warranty back which is false information, as Ashley store nation wide refund you back. Talking to the rude careless manager did not help at all so If you want to buy from Ashley store take the drive to Florence or Colombia store! Never buying from them again!

We had an amazing experience with our first purchase from Ashley Furniture in Sumter. Not only did our salesperson, Jenny, listen to our needs but she was able to pinpoint exactly the perfect match. We will definitely be back!

We found a great bedroom set on sale and we didn’t know that they sold Mattresses until we were in the store, but they actually have a nice bedding section. Our salesperson really educated us on the technology behind each one and we ended up getting a new sealy hybrid mattress with our bedroom set. They guaranteed less than 30 day delivery and had our furniture in about a week and a half.

After looking for a linen sofa for weeks, we were able to find just what my wife was looking for at Ashley Furniture in Sumter. After shopping around it was clear that they not only have good pricing, but their delivery service costs less than most stores as well. Quick delivery and very happy with the sofa.

I came in looking for a dining room set, and the salesperson was very knowledgeable and quickly helped us find a perfect set. Once we found the set we liked, the salesperson was able to show us 3 different table options in the same collection, as well as two different price points for both chairs and servers. The order was delivered and setup in my house less than two weeks after purchase. I will definitely shop here again.

Overall experience was crappy. The delivery guys were amazing. We ordered a sectional from them and even drew a picture of how we wanted it ordered and when it got here a month and a half later it was wrong. They said we had five days to decide if we wanted to keep it or order a new one and because we didn't want to wait another month and half for a new couch we kept it. When talking with the manager he acted like he really didn't care that he lost business from us and that we should have looked at our order more carefully. Do not go to Ashley Furniture in Sumter.
