Ashley Store Cookeville, TN

First of all, we love the furniture that we got from Ashley. We purchased living room and bedroom sets. The quality seems extremely good, and it fits perfectly both in size and style. So for the furniture, I would give it five stars. So what went wrong? Trust. I left with the feeling that the sales person and manager were very shady and trying to take advantage of us. In fact, they did just that. First arrival the manager showed us a sofa and love seat that had a different price than I saw online. She said I must have seen the online price wrong, so I told her we’d leave and buy it online, to which she asked our zip code, and suddenly she saw that the price I saw was correct. We picked out what we wanted and they suggested we go with 60 month 0% interest which sounded good. We purchased a mattress which comes with a free adjustable base, but they did everything to try to get us to pay for the base, so I had to purchase it separately, but then had to pay shipping for it separately too. All they would tell us was the monthly payments. when we got to the car, we realized they had slipped in a $ 300+ mattress cover ($29 at Walmart). They also added a protection fee on each piece, and I discovered they didn’t give us the sale prices. They then informed me that we can’t get the sale prices on the financing. I made them cancel the sale and start over, but then the told me if we did that, that part of the bedroom would now be out of stock. It took well over an hour just to get the sale we expected from their advertisement. In the process with the manager, I heard the sales person mumble “there goes my fee”. One final note, they tried high pressure sales on the Mattress and base to which we were going to go elsewhere, but then suddenly they had other options. I came away not trusting them at all and would never shop at Ashley again. I’ve let a lot of friends and family know to stay away from them as well. I hope it’s just the one store, but we shopped for outdoor furniture at a different Ashley in a different state, and they hovered over us with high pressure, also trying to get us to purchase other furniture, so it looks to be the Ashley way, and they way they train their staff. There are plenty of other options and stores to shop at.

Excellent customer service! My husband and I were not exactly sure what we wanted in our spare room. There were two saleswomen that researched online and gave us ideas that we didn't know were an option. We made our purchase and it is being delivered in three days. The process was smooth and quick! Highly recommend Ashley furniture!

8k for one couch, no deal or discount, cheaper if you just went online and took advantage of their deals there "that were listed but we were told didn't qualify for". Online with discounts, 24 months on the Ashley card, same couch, less than 4k. Steer clear, just browse and buy online. I'm not going to reach out, you get one chance with your customers, when the initial experience is this bad, my business went to brown squirrel in Knoxville. It's simple, if you're going to scorch earth your customers from the start, why would I want to subject myself to that again?

Delivery service leaves a lot to be desired. Our delivery was delayed twice and it is $99.

Im very frustrated with Ashley furniture right now. I bought couches a month ago from them and two of the sections to my sectional came damaged. I have spent way too many hours on the phone with them. I was told someone would come fix my couches on Saturday the 24 at 10. At 1030 I called them and they told me that it was scheduled for Monday the 2nd. Glad I sacrificed a day of overtime for no good reason. Then they want me to take off a day of work to fix their overpriced cheaply made crap. These couches were expensive enough without costing me more money by making me miss work. Their automated phone system sucks. I have to call like four times to actually get it to talk to me. I will never purchase anything from Ashley furniture again.

We have a beautiful fireplace that we bought @ Ashley in July last year & just got a beautiful love seat that we love.

It was the first time I had been to the store and they were great people we bought a couch and chair they treated us great and I will be doing more business with them in the future

My sales representative was awesome the only thing I had a problem with was the delivery charge I was not aware of a delivery charge of five hundred dollars and something nearly 600.00 dollars! So I went back to the store to get it resolved so now I have to drive to the warehouse to pick my order up which is in Symarna Tn.

I want to start by saying that I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE. I’m posting this review in hopes that someone from corporate will finally reach out, because according to customer service rep Jessica G., “there is no way to escalate my concerns” and they “don’t have a contact number for corporate.” We all know that’s not accurate. We purchased an entire house of furniture from Ashley, delivered in May 2025. It has now been six months, and in that short time we’ve dealt with issue after issue: Our dining room table had to be repaired because it wasn’t put together correctly by the installers. The back legs of a dining room chair completely fell off while an average-sized adult was sitting in it—thankfully, he wasn’t injured. The wheels fell off our living room table and that required another repair. The recliner broke and got stuck in the fully reclined position and had to be repaired. And now, for the past two months, we've been trying to get our couch fixed because the wood frame literally split. Every single time, dealing with Ashley’s customer service has been a headache—but this most recent issue has been the worst. A technician came out on 11/19 and told us the couch could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. Somehow, Ashley logged it as us “refused repair,” which is simply not true. When I called today, I spoke with Jessica G. who claimed she couldn't find proof that the technician ever came or see his notes. I told her that couldn’t be true because I have the service ticket with his name, notes, and the photos he took while in our home. She repeatedly put me on hold for 3–5 minutes at a time (total phone time was over an hour), only to return saying I needed to resubmit photos and schedule another technician visit. I explained over and over that this had already been done, that it’s been two months, and that the technician already confirmed it needs replacement. She continued to place me on hold and repeat the same scripted responses. Eventually, I agreed to resubmit the photos just to move the process forward, but I also asked her to escalate my concerns to corporate—especially since we’ve had five different issues with brand new furniture in less than six months. Her exact words were: “We cannot do that. We don’t have a number for corporate, and they will tell you the same thing.” I was furious but stayed calm and firm. At this point, I told her I would love for someone to come pick up the entire house of furniture, because I honestly don’t want any of it anymore. I will NEVER purchase from Ashley Furniture again. Their quality is unacceptable, their customer service is appalling, and they should be ashamed of how they run their business.

Great costumer service.

We just built a home and were in need of furniture. We were greeted by an Assistant Manager who took the time to show us around and answer all of our questions. There was no pressure of any kind and we appreciated the large amount of furniture they had to look at. I personally hate shopping for furniture but this was actually a pleasant experience.

The staff was great and extremley helpfull. They were quick and efficient. However, the staff had a computer/system glitch. After my bank approved and processed the purchase, the staff said the system glitched and didn't take. I couldn't leave with my purchase, it wasn't in their system to allow for inventory. I had to purchase it again (twice) to take my product. I received a written promise of a refund for the duplication which also cleared my bank. We shall see if they are professional or ....

Furniture they are selling is junk, cheap. Don't depend on them to replace or fix problems. Not worth the money.

It took Ashley Store over two months to get my order to me and once I got it, I had to have them leave the desk Unassembled until I finished working on a room. Once I finish the room, I went to put the desk together. There were no Instructions. They left the wrong legs and one of the nuts inside the Desk would not tighten down. Had to contact her service. Take a bunch of pictures use up a whole bunch more of my time and now they say it’s not enough. Terrible company. I will never deal with this company again.. Remember the Saying buyer beware

After I explained my purpose for shopping at Ashley and the type furnishings desired, I was carried to the section of the floor displaying these furnishings. Upon purchasing my selections, delivery could not be made to comply with my schedule, but the manager stepped in and made delivery available according to my availability

The sales lady was outstanding! Why our rating is not a 5 is because we thought this was a store not a show place and expected to be able to pick up our furniture from the store. When we were ready to pay we were informed we had to an $80 delivery charge from the Smyrna warehouse or pick it up in Smyrna.

My Mattress was delivered by two men neither one spoke s single word of English. They were supposed to take my old mattress and they didn't know or didn't want to and only after trying to argue with them they finally did. My guess Ashley is employing illegal labor. I will never buy anything from them again, nor will my family and friends.

We went in not knowing exactly what we were looking for but the staff was there to answer all our questions and helped make the decision on our beautiful new set. Bought a fairly expensive reclining sofa. After looking online, it said you could return within 30 days. I did not notice the part where it says online orders. After having one day, we knew it needed to be returned. Sitting on the couch for more than an hour, my back was hurting. The seat dips down, so it is an unnatural position. I called the store and Customer Service and they said I could not return unless it was defective. We sat on it many times in the store, but not continuously. We still had the tags on and had the couch covered, so no harm was done to the sofa. I was happy to pay the shipping charges, but they still refused. I would never buy from them again. There are a number of companies that will take back furniture, if you are not happy with it. If you buy from them, be sure you want it.

The guy that helped us was really thorough and friendly. He was extra patient which we needed because my husband likes to take his time with his decisions. I wish I could remember his name, but we were told he is the only guy selling mattresses there. We are super happy with his good attitude and making sure we got what we needed. Thank you!

We basically went in to “look” however we ended up buying! The salesperson Audrey was very nice, informative and not pushy at all. As I said we were looking and going to check another furniture store however the recliner and couch we were looking at was at another store for a lower price. I am updating my review due to finally receiving the furniture so I can give a full review on everything.. The customer service in store was phenomenal and super easy with purchasing I truly had no issues with in-store issues at all however. I feel that the in-store and warehouse need better communications. I was told I would receive both pieces of furniture on the 18th of March, I was fine with that until I received a phone call on the 17th saying that only one of the 2 would be delivered the 18th.. they mentioned I could have them both believed on the 20th so I agreed with that... within a few hrs that day I received a text message saying it could not be delivered until the 25th or after the 25th with a couple different dates recommended... I know things happen however I just feel like communication between all parties could be a little better. Delivery was excellent and they arrived 20 minutes before the actual time they were supposed to even be here so that was nice also! Will still do business with Ashley's this isn't a bad review just giving my opinion on my experience!

I want to state the staff in store were awesome and this is no way should reflect them! I ordered a bed frame and when it was delivered they didn’t put it together correctly, it fell apart during the night. I called the store and they said I had to call the main company number so I did. The agent said I had to file a claim online. So I did. All I wanted was them to come and fix it. That was almost a month ago and I have heard nothing. I have followed up and have pictures to show that there are missing screws, one leg to hold it up, and one area is stripped. I will not buy from them again which is sad because like I said the store itself and its sales ladies were so wonderful but the delivery company and main office failed to resolve this issue.

UPDATE REVIEW: A manager Angela called and did give me a partial credit for the Delivery charge. Changed from a 1 star to a 4 star. Delivery was horrible! Delivery person screamed at me. I paid for the white glove service and he told me he doesn't get paid for that or have time for that. He loaded the server back up and took off! I kept asking him to leave it!! Want back into the store and they would not give me a break on Delivery charge!! Dillon was not an easy person to deal with. Audrey however was great!!

Ordered and received PART of our furniture order in August. We waited over a month for the rest of the order. When we still didn't receive it we visited the store to inquire on its whereabouts. We were told "it's been stolen by Somalian pirates" and that we would not get it until November or December. I went in today, just to check on its status as no one has followed up with us. There were 4 women working in the store. One was on the phone, 2 were popping balloons, and the other was sitting with them (I assume the manager). I was not greeted when I walked in. When I approached the group, I asked about my order, I was told that now it wouldn't be here until mid January. I told them that I was frustrated that no one has even followed up with me. They all just stared at me. Meanwhile, the woman on the phone was asking the woman whom I believe to be the manager to help her with a phone call. The so-called manager refused to help with the customer that was on the phone and just sat there. Her words, "No, I'm not talking to them, there's nothing I can do about it!" This was the worst customer service I have seen in a long time. I received no apology or explanation for the extended delay in receiving my order or for the lack of communication- I was just stared at.

I had Bailey and that was my favorite part. Not pushy and very pleasant. Delivery scheduling is a joke and slow to receive your purchase.

Joanne was my sales agent today and did a fantastic job of letting us shop without pressure and make a decision. She also explained the paperwork in detail. The only snag we had was a five year warranty was mentioned in the shopping portion of the visit that turned out to be an optional extra purchase. Joanne deserves four stars. The billing portion however, does something that I consider to be deceptive on their invoice. Their Whiteglove Premium Home Delivery shows as $ 0.00 on the invoice part, but the delivery charge is added to the bottom. I called and asked about this and was told by the manager Brandon it is done at the corporate level and the local store has no control in how it appears on the invoice. I am posting this so that maybe someone in corporate will see this post and realize this does not make the customer have confidence or trust in your company. I did not mind paying the delivery fee, I just feel like you weren't transparent about it.

They put the wrong bed on our order, and we drove 2.5 hours to pick up bed, which wasn't what we ordered. Spent 3 hours in phone calls with very young, inexperienced people to get the bed we purchased. Then it took a week for them to deliver the correct bed! I do not recommend Ashley store at all.

Update...We had to wait close to 7 months for the last 2 pieces. They just arrived today, Jan 2025, for an order we placed in June 2024. Terrible experience. I ordered my furniture and had my delivery set. The first shipment came in with a chair ripped up so had to wait another 2 weeks to receive a new one. Then they scheduled my other items for a different date. They didn't show up so I called and the lady said they needed to cancel and reschedule so I rescheduled they showed up without the furniture and said they didn't have it. So I called and they said I'd have to keep rescheduling with them till my items were in stock??? I was like ok well I have to work so I can't keep scheduling if yall arnt going to show up when I'm waiting on you to. The lady basically told me tough luck. Then I got a call from my sales rep who informed me the item was no longer for sale and I could buy the floor model with a refund. My sales rep was wonderful. So I said ok let's do it. The manager processed my refund and I've been waiting 2 weeks with no refund? So I called the store and they arnt able to look up refunds? So they gave me a number to call that can't tell me anything either??? So they said I have to keep waiting and it takes 7 to 10 days...but again it's been 2 weeks. So no one knows who I can call and I keep getting transferred around to be told the same story over and over. It's been a terrible experience. I only gave 2 stars because my sales rep was so helpful and wonderful.

I recently bought a recliner (as is) which I was told only meant no warranty. I tried to sameday return the recliner because it was too small. I was told " We don't take back used furniture," I only had it in my home for a few hrs. Bargain furniture allowed me to return an item I wasn't happy with . Disappointed Ashley!

Having just moved to Baxter, TN, I needed a new living room set. Ashley is my go to store and the Cookeville location didn't disappoint. Joanne greeted me when I arrived and made sure I had everything I needed plus she got me a great deal. The furniture looks fantastic.

I have to say when we walked into Ashley, that is how we were greeted.We were treated as if we were family from the moment Nicholas approached us. We have not received our delivery as of yet. It is coming very soon if the treatment is anything like what we have experienced so far. We are confident we will be returning to Ashley for all of our future furniture needs.

Went in November 2023 and purchased a couch, TV love seat that reclines and a recliner. All were supposed to be electric and the recliner was not. The TV love seat, the back keeps coming off. Ashley's sent factory service men to look at the furniture and they said it was defective. We spent 6,000 plus a rug. We have talked to Ashley's several times and they said that they were going to make it right. As of today, 4/25/2024 nothing has been done. If I were you, I would not purchase anything from Ashley's. Called today and they said that there was no records of previous conversations. I feel like there waiting until my warranty runs out.

The nicest people ever!! Dylan Scott did a great job. When we moved house, we didn’t think our couch would fit through the doorway but he voluntarily came to the house and helped us get our couch in!

After plenty of “meh” experiences of shopping in my town of Crossville, my wife and I made the trek to Cookeville to visit the Ashley store. We’ve had an Ashley couch, purchased elsewhere, for years and were interested in another high quality piece of furniture. Our salesperson, Bailey, went above and beyond for us in our shopping experience. She was very informative, easy going, extremely pleasant and gave us the space we needed to truly decided what would work best for us in our new home. We ended up purchasing a complete living room set from Bailey, and she made the purchase process painless. We will be back for more pieces soon, but in the meantime we will be referring all of our family and friends to Bailey at the Ashley store in Cookeville for their furniture needs.

Very clean store, decent selection. Sales people were not overly pushy. The only thing I don't care for is their pricing structure. They like to keep it wrapped up in financing and it was hard to get an actual cash amount of what everything costs till after you agree.

I was hesitant to go to Ashley fearing it would be like the other furniture stores in town that are very expensive. It was my last stop for the day, my son and I had been shopping all day. The store was warm and inviting when we walked in and my son and I were starting to look around ducking the sales force but then one of us got us while we were trying out a sectional. His name was Nick and he was fantastic. He listened to what I needed, what I wanted and was not pushy at all. He showed me everything that would be a possibility but saved the best for last the one he came up with from all the things I said I did and did not want. It was the one I bought. He provided excellent customer service and we got along fantastic. At the end of the night I got a fantastic deal on some beautiful furniture for my new home.

Everything was fine during the buying process except for the fact that I was mislead with the No Use No Lose policy… I was told distinctly, after I refused to take it multiple times, that I would get that money back after 5 years if I don’t file a claim! Only to find out in their own paperwork, that the money comes back in the form of a credit on a minimum purchase of $500… that’s the biggest slap in the face. I will not buy another piece of furniture here.

Nicholas at Ashley furniture in Cookeville is the worst service man ever he cussed us out and yelled at us for asking him questions! Horrible service we wanted to buy a bedroom set from this store because they were supposed to be “great” they are FAR from great! We were told we were getting a FOUR PIECE SET we arrived three items and one was completely wrong they refused to take it back and said we had to keep it so we get in contact with the sales man that sold it to us and he CUSSED US OUT AND YELLED AT US! I would never EVER recommend this place horrible service! I wish I could give 0 stars this place WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!

If there was such as a 0 star that would be more appropriate. Wish I had read reviews before I let my son get his furniture. I am almost sure the 5 start rating on here are family and employess be cause it takes like 5 good rating to cancel 1 bad as I know how that works. Ashley furniture sales.rep. lied amd when my son finally got his delivery it wasn't right and the drivers refused to take it and pressured him to sign for delivery. He did then they said once it he furniture is there it can not be returned. He did not get what he bought and the whole thing has been a mess. It does no good to talk to a manager as they say they will l call back and do not. Choose rent-a-center, Buddys home furniture or Aaron's as they have the same quite cheaper and better customer service skills.

My in-store experience was great. However, a few mins after the delivery crew left I noticed a large sticky stain on the footboard of the bed I purchased. I had to call 4 different numbers before reaching the designated department. I was told piece was out of stock and could not be replaced, that it could be serviced. It’s been a week now and I have yet to receive the service and/or scheduling for the service. After reviewing my paperwork, we are unable to return this stained piece of furniture post delivery . Never again will Ashley’s receive my business.

Camilla was so knowledgeable about the items on the showroom floor. She was able to answer all of our questions and we left with a great mattress.

I ordered a 5-piece bedroom set, 2 large mirrors, and a coffee table from "The BEST furniture store." Initially, Dylan, our seller, was great, selling us what we needed, but a mistake occurred, which is understandable. However, the real frustration began when our furniture consistently arrived broken. Each time I refused a delivery, the date was pushed back, making the process more agonizing. The manager's handling of the situation aggravated the problem. After three attempts, the manager reached out from her personal cell phone, promising to make an exception by changing the delivery date and refunding the delivery costs. However, as months passed, communication became sporadic. I eventually called the corporate number after the manager stopped responding. To my shock, the phone agent accused me of lying since there were no notes from the manager. This left me disheartened, especially after investing significantly in their furniture, all while simply hoping for a functional bed to sleep on.

We were greeted immediately upon entering the store. Very helpful service. We love shopping at Ashley Furniture.

Ashley furniture helped us to order a table we saw on their website, but wasn’t in the store. They price matched the online price. The staff was friendly and helpful. The delivery came surprisingly earlier than expected, which was an advantage to me. The delivery was fast and our furniture was put together properly.

Great experience we weren't planning on buying but Audrey did such a great job we left with a new couch.

The purchase process and the help I received at the store initially was good. It was downhill after that. I wasn’t home when my sectional was delivered however my neighbor was and it should have been a breeze. Unfortunately the delivery person left the sectional with a tear in the wedge fabric, missing floor glides on one of the recliners and the sectional wasn’t even put together. I called the driver when I got home about 25min’s later who told me I had to call the store rep. Numerous calls later, emails etc etc and at my wits end I was just going to return it and buy elsewhere. In short and unbeknownst to me the Cookeville, TN store had this little clause they didn’t bother to mention that says once the furniture is in your possession there are no returns! I have bought from Ashley before not this particular store but that’s absurd. The best they could offer was to order new fabric and the floor glides and they would have a technician install them which wouldn’t happen for a month after the delivery. Completely unacceptable. I will not purchase from this Ashley ever again. Something else I didn’t know is that Ashley stores are independently owned and don’t all have the same standards or procedures. Very bad business.

Nicholas was the sales person . He was very helpful in helping me select the living room set that most fits my needs. He wasn't pushy at all like most sales people. I would highly recommend seeing Nicholas for your furniture needs.

They would not even be getting one star but as it stands you gotta tap at least one in order to leave reviews. I made a purchase , got the delivery and realized once the delivery men clean all their box’s and wrappers out of my room that a chair was just too big for my space. The driver had already gone so I called the store within half hour to ask if I could exchange the chair for something else that would fit , because in the process of the delivery one of the pieces of the couch was apparently missing something so they put back on truck and said they would deliver it in a few days. Okay so you gotta come back out. No problem they can take the chair back that just will not fit …. They absolutely are not willing to work with me on this. The sales lady said if something doesn’t work just let us know. So much for letting them know my situation. I’ve made phone call after phone call practically begging them to please just let me exchange the chair and ottoman for same price and something that will fit in my space. Got a lot of run around and time on the phone with same promises of someone will reach out .. 24 hours later no one has reached out. Apparently you’re not going to be able to talk to someone with good moral ethics . The over all integrity of Ashley furniture is less than desirable. Letting your customs know upfront that if that truck leaves your drive ,you’ll receive no help on our end.

I did not have a good experience at this store today. Ive been in there a few times but today the sales person I worked with was not friendly, honestly seemed passive aggressive, and I had to prompt and ask them about everything. I felt lured into the store by false advertising and hustled by a sales person who did not care once I got there. I am still going to buy the love seat I am looking at but will save myself the experience of having to deal with someone like that.

Our salesperson, Nick, helped us find exactly what we were looking for in both style and price. Then he found a way for it to be delivered in time for Thanksgiving, which I thought no one could do. We received our new sofa today, the day before Thanksgiving. Everything was perfection! Thanks to everyone at Ashley's, but especially to Nick!

I would give zero stars if I could. Worst customer service ever. Wrong item delivered and the local store cant accept return. Have to wait 3-5 days for proper team to reach out, but also have notify within 72 hours. Total scam company.

I went there looking for curio cabinets and found a dining room table that fit into the little spot in my apartment nicely and I got it on sale. Then I fell in love with the sofa and got a good deal on that one too she was very helpful very pleasant and love her name ( lol my sister with the same name said that one). This was one place I had fun shopping in today very much enjoyed it. It makes all the difference in the world when the workers are nice and courteous and talkative they just seem to know what you want and she had a very very pleasant personality
