Ashley Store | Barre, VT 05641

We have a home in VT that we purchased last year during COVID when furniture was essentially impossible to get. We opted to wait, did some home renovations, and I reached out to this store back in May to help me with putting together a plan for our living room. We are back and forth from MA to VT and this store is about 40 minutes away from our VT house. Our in-store browsing was pleasant and we didn't feel hounded about making a purchase, but there was plenty of staff around to answer questions and lots of floor models to explore. I reached out after our visit to discuss a few pieces as I wasn't certain about the best way to design our living room. Sue was absolutely wonderful to work with, had great suggestions, and helped me coordinate everything without having to go back to the store. She was up-front about delivery timeframes and although we are awaiting delivery, I'm sure we will love our choices due to her awesome expertise! I can't recommend working with this store enough, definitely a great option for anyone looking to furnish their home.

Just paid 1100 what was suppose to be a new bed but you can tell it was the floor model. Has chunks taken out of it and a broken drawer. After dicking around with them about how my delivery was wrong and nobody could promise us a bed they give us a damaged bed. I will never purchase anything from them EVERY again.

We were rudely asked to leave because we are not fully vaccinated and are from New Hampshire. To my knowledge you can travel within New England and not have to quarantine. I do not see how this is even legal. And I felt we were looked at with disgust because we are not fully vaccinated. We will happily take our business elsewhere.

Nice atmosphere, good prices, helpful staff!

Came here twice with a poor experience both times. First time the associate was extremely negative and told us not to even buy due to rising costs and extended warehouse times. The second time, today, the associate told me that they wouldn't price match to the website pricing and that delivery would be double what the Burlington store charges, despite us living closer to this store, AND us being told not even a month ago delivery costs were only $50 to our location. So I'm not sure which associate was inaccurate the times we've been here, but I expected better customer service. Definitely will be taking our business to the Burlington location instead.

Excellent customer service on phone and in person. Very helpful in going over all the details of the different models and arranging for us to pick up chair at warehouse.

Ordered a recliner a full month ago.... it was supposed to take 2 weeks. Still have not a date or time for the pick up. They blame it on covid......really??????????? Will NEVER order from them again

Good face-toface service un store. Nice selection and reasonable prices. Has proven to be less helpful if you wait for something to be ordered. Was told a piece was in it’s way from Williston to Berlin. A week later got the run around about where it was. Called the next day and was told it was still in Williston. If you can get it quickly, this is a good spot. If you have to wait and arrange pick-up later, they could prove less than helpful.

Good store gave me a good deal on a new dogs recliner and love seat

We found what we were looking for and it was afriendly t a great price. The staff was friendly and explained everything.

I have bought here before and I was never treated the way I was today the prices online are way cheaper when I asked if they could work with me i was told if its was a better price online then I should order it there they clearly did not want the sale I will not be shopping here again

It was a little busy. Very friendly, courteous sales women. Checkout was quick and friendly.

A little over priced for me

I purchased a sofa in-store. I was never told my sofa was on back-order. Communication would have been nice. They were going to charge a $99 delivery fee to deliver a sofa half a mile down the road. They do not have competitive pricing. My recommendation is to buy online

I found a table in store that I really liked. They did not have any in stock and ordered it for me. A few days later I decided to go on ashley furniture's website to show my other half the table I had ordered. The table online was over 300 dollars cheaper!! When we returned to the store that is almost 2 hours away from us my boyfriend mentioned the price difference. Sue the manager said shipping cost 300 dollars for it to be delivered to our home. We did not argue with her and had already drove 2 hours to get there but after going back online to the ashley furniture website delivery for the same table was $79.99. Sue was also rude and I was extremely uncomfortable of the way she was treating one of her employees who was trying to help us. I just bought a brand new house and I will not be purchasing anything else from Ashley.

The only reason I am giving this store even 3 stars is because our salesperson, Donna, was an absolute pleasure to work with and this would be a 5 star review otherwise. Unfortunately, Donna was not there the day that my wife and I went in to decide on the two twin beds that we were purchasing. Tricia introduced herself as the store manager and proceeded to assist us. When my wife showed me the beds one of my main concerns that I conveyed to Tricia was a particle core product being used anywhere on the beds. Working in an industry that uses particle board products on many items that we sell it was apparent that there was, in fact, some particle board in these items but it was explained to me that it was ALL engineered wood and there was nothing else in this price range for the same quality (whatever that quality was). In an effort to get to the source of my disappointment here I will move to the point that this turned into a, in my opinion, short, one sided and somewhat rude conversation that was clearly not going to go anywhere without upsetting my wife. Story short, we ended up with the beds (and other items) and although the construction of them is not really what I wanted they are nice beds. The importance of me writing this review (my first one ever) is that I feel the store manager made a Value Judgment about our purchase and assumed that we needed to settle on a product that I wasn't convinced that we wanted. In fact, I would have preferred to be shown a higher quality product completely understanding that I was going to pay more for it but was never even offered the opportunity to do so. Instead, we were caught up in a disagreement about the construction of the furniture that was making my wife uncomfortable. I will admit that maybe I should have been more persistent about seeing another option but the experience was going south so quickly that I just wanted to finish up with her and be on our way. On a better note Donna was awesome, the delivery guys were great and although this singular experience may not represent this stores regular practices, this was my experience.

Good choices, decent prices, friendly staff

People are too pushy always asking can I help you can I help you follow you around the store you feel like a criminal in their store so now it's not very much fun shopping there and that's the one in Berlin thank you Montpeliplayer

A month ago we bought our new sofa at Ashley. Our sales rep Donna was an absolute pleasure to work with. She guided us through the process and made sure we were getting the best deal possible. Our experience was so great that we went back today to buy more furniture from them. The entire staff is extremely helpful - truly no pressure, no attitude, 100% positive experience.

Really good experience working with Doug. My purchases arrived at the warehouse on the date I was told and items look good in my condo. Very happy this time around.

We went to 5 other large furniture stores the day we ended up finding our dream couch at this Ashley. The salesperson, Glenn made himself available but did not smother or pressure us like at the other stores. He was available friendly, knowledgeable and sincere. I see in some other reviews that the delivery charge policy may need some updating but for us it was fine since we live 40 miles away. Maybe just double check the fee before agreeing to a delivery. I highly recommend this store. The prices are great, they have a great styles and the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable.

Great selection and knowledgeable, friendly salespeople! We felt comfortable to browse with no pressure, and ended up finding a piece that was a better fit for us than what we had imagined when walking in. We will be needing a new bed soon, and will definitely be bringing our business back here.

The manager of Ashley did call me after seeing my review here and explained from her perspective why the delivery charge was $100. I appreciated her reaching out but I still wasn't satisfied with the explanation of the $100 delivery fee. What is disconcerting to me is that a major furniture competitor near Costco quoted me a delivery fee of $79. 99, and the distance from that store is much greater than the 2. 5 miles from Ashley's to Essex Junction. Oh well-lesson learned I suppose.

I was shopping for an easy lift recliner for my elderly mother. I found one she like and it was a floor model. So far all is good. I also purchased a 4 year maintenance contract to cover the motor. I'm still good with the experience. What I'm not happy about is the $100 delivery charge for the chair. I only live 2. 5 miles from the store and I KNOW the salesperson quoted me a much lower delivery charge initially but she didn't write the amount on her business card. I regret not challenging the manager on this exorbitant delivery fee. Because I feel I was overcharged I probably won't shop here again nor recommend it. There are better choices in the area.

Lots of beautiful pieces. Easy to walk through. Luann was very helpful and we ended up finding the couch we were looking for! Great experience and good prices
