Purchased two chairs that I made very clear to Julia that I would be picking up only to see on my receipt the following day that I'd been charged a delivery fee. When I asked the cost of the protection plan that they were aggressively trying to push on me, I was told $100 which, technically, is not a lie but, most likely, was intentionally deceptive given that they work on commission. It is $100 PER ITEM which was never once made clear. The store manager never apologized when I explained what had happened but instead tried to blame ME for not looking more closely at the receipt - which may be true but it is very poor form when it comes to customer service. He did state that both fees would be refunded. I spoke with Julia who is the one responsible for this mess - no apology. The $200 protection plan fee was refunded within a few days. Two weeks later, I still haven't received the refund for the $130 delivery fee. I've called the store three times but have never heard back from Sam, the store manager. I shouldn't have to beg for you to correct the mistake that YOU made. No doubt they'll think that I'm the one being difficult. Here's a tip for you, however: be completely transparent/honest with your customers throughout the buying process and, when things happen that need corrected, do what you say you're going to do and there will be no disgruntled customers. Today's plan: 1. Find out who Sam answers to and 2. Cancel the order entirely. All you had to do was refund the delivery fee. UPDATE: Just spoke to Sam again who claims that in the original call to him that I did not mention wanting the delivery fee refunded. Why would I be ok with paying for a service that I had no intention of using? The day I ordered the chairs Julia handed me a slip of paper with directions to the warehouse. So it WAS clear in store that I requested pick up not delivery and, hence, the original call was SOLEY about getting the delivery charge refunded. I just happened to mention during that call that I wasn't pleased with how the protection plan scenario played out and he said, "So, you want that refunded, too?!" I didn't even know at the time I made that initial call that having that refunded was as option until he mentioned it! I've now asked for the order to be canceled. Let's see how many phone calls it takes to make that happen.
