Ashley Furniture – Citrus Blvd, Harahan, LA Review I want to start by saying the in-store service was good at first, which is why this experience is so disappointing. I visited Ashley Furniture on Citrus Blvd in Harahan on a Wednesday after shopping at several furniture stores looking for a bed for my teenage son, who seems to grow faster than a beanstalk. After comparing options, I decided to purchase a queen-size bed from Ashley. The bed was available in three options: cream, black upholstery, and oak. The oak was sold out, and obviously cream isn’t ideal for a teenager, so I specifically ordered the black upholstery version. My salesperson wasn’t as familiar with the products as I would have liked, but he did an okay job and helped complete the purchase. My delivery date was scheduled 10 days out, which I understood because it’s tax season and stores are busy. When delivery day finally came, my expected delivery time was 1:57 PM, but the delivery team didn’t arrive until 4:45 PM. Unfortunately, the bigger issue was that they showed up with the wrong bed — a cream headboard instead of the black upholstery I ordered. I didn’t even allow it into my house because it wasn’t what I purchased. I explained that to the driver, and he simply put it back on the truck and drove away without saying a word. After that, I called the store. The first representative I spoke with was clearly part of an overseas call center and told me I would have to wait 72 hours for the bed to be refunded before they could even attempt to redeliver the correct one. This was extremely frustrating, especially considering my son had been sleeping on the floor because the delivery instructions said nothing could be in the way or they wouldn’t set up the bed. After speaking with four different representatives outside the United States, I finally received a call from someone in a city about an hour away asking if I had refused the order. I explained that I didn’t refuse it — the order was wrong. She checked the order and confirmed that the salesperson had made an error and told me he would call me shortly to correct it. About an hour later the salesperson did call. He apologized and admitted the mistake was his. He told me he would do everything he could to make sure I had the correct bed by the 13th (the error happened on the 10th). He also promised he would keep me updated. Since then, it has been radio silence. When I reached out to him myself, he told me he was still waiting for the bed to be refunded in the system before he could reprocess the order and send the correct one out. At this point, I just want my money back and will take my business elsewhere. It’s disappointing because I was actually planning to return that Saturday to purchase a couch I liked while buying the bed — but after this experience, that will not be happening. It’s unfortunate because the store made a good first impression, but once they had my money, the service and communication completely fell apart. Very disappointing experience
