Ashley Store Danville, VA

They sell you furniture that you will have to wait forever to receive. Then when they show up hours late for the appointment they schedule their will be a problem this store sold us furniture with no knowledge of what they was selling had to buy extra frame when we was told we did not need then we did then changed the bed and weeks later again bed showed up and was told the original bed we wanted is what we needed in order for it to work properly parts were broken has been two months dealing with this place will never again buy from here everyone from the manager to sales to warehouse people have lied and made excuses the only people that have been honest and courteous was the guys that delivered it the whole place needs to be trained on what they sell all they want is the commission. Do not waste your time going here other places sell the same stuff or can get it.

Worked with Brent and Stephanie to buy a new couch and recliner. They are beautiful and recliner the most comfortable I’ve ever sat in. Had issue because furniture was a little too big. Brent and Steph worked with me to exchange one piece to find what suited us best. They went above and beyond and it was such a pleasure to work with them. They secured our future business.

My friend and i just went in Ashley Furniture in Danville, VA. Upon arrival, 4 salespersons/workers were all talking among themselves at the front of the store. No one offered to acknowledge my friend. As we walked by, the man in the group said, "Aren't you going to at least speak?" My friend responded that she was looking for dining room furniture. The salesman did not get up from his stool. Then, my friend asked "which way do I need to go to find the dining room furniture?" His response was, " Let me hold your hand and show you where to go." He then got up to take us to the dining room furniture. After walking towards the back of the store, my friend told him that she would just look on her own. But at that point, she had lost interest in looking at anything in that store. When we left, they were all still gathered at the front, lounging on the couch and talking. We still can not believe how rude we were treated!

i want give any stars my 82 year mother went shopping there the sales person did not give a price on what she bought she ask her how much she had to spend mom told her she had 600.00 so the very dishonest sales person sold it to her for that much as it happened the mattress sold for 50.00 dollars less we got the 50 back but it made the sales person mad we never got the mattress it took three weeks to get a refund very bad place shop at your own risk. mike.c

Me and my fiance came in a few times to look at sectionals. The first couple times, we had Phylece. She was absolutely amazing. She did not hover, but was always within sight and earshot to answer our questions and assist us. She checked on us periodically without being pushy or making us uncomfortable. She was actually the reason we came back the second time. The first time she helped us, but someone else came over and was overwhelming us and hovering, so we left. I was so happy to see her again! We did not end up purchasing our couch that day, but she did tell us about the benefits of coming back to the store vs online. We came back the third time, and while Phylece unfortunately was not working, we had Latifah help us with purchasing, she was very thorough with our options, was very detailed but the farthest thing from pushy. She was very personalable and a great fit for us that night too. Phylece's close-but-far style and Latifah's personality really made our trips worth the drive.

Stephanie and Elizabeth went over and above in helping purchase a sofa for our church. We could not be more pleased with their service and the product!!

Hi. We had the greatest experience with Phylece. She was so patient with us as we made this purchase. It had been a very long time since we bought furniture & she made it easy. Stephanie was very helpful as well.

Did not shop this store but since it is a representative of the Ashley brand I feel the need to share my Ashley experience. My purchase was online. I cleared my old dining set out Thursday in anticipation of my Friday delivery. The table came out of the box with scratches long/short light and deep. It was a mess. I contacted Ashley and they told me that it was a vendor that they deal with so they couldn’t help but would inform them and gave me a number to call them. My purchase was on the Ashley website using my Ashley credit card, but they couldn’t assist me. The day went on and I didn’t hear from anyone so I reached back out to Ashley. At this point I’m asked what do I want to do. I asked for a full refund. I was asked if was willing to pay the return cost of the table? No! She said it would be 3-5 days before I hear from someone who will tell me how to return it. So as of now my family has no where to sit and have dinner. Thanks Ashley. Updated to respond to Ashley response: it is unfair to leave it here as it is unfair to me as a shopper to not be able to post a review on the Ashley website where the purchase was made. I stated in the beginning that I didn’t buy it here but as a customer of the brand this store represents, I wanted my experience of the brand heard and acknowledged

Oh gosh this store is beautiful! So many things to choose from but me and my husband were focused in on getting a new recliner. A gentleman named Billy Farmer helped us he was awesome so sweet, nice, friendly and fun to talk too. We didn’t feel pressured or anything he got us a super nice recliner at a price point/payments we could afford and was very knowledgeable on the merchandise they had in the store. All in all I think we’re going to Ashley furniture if we need anything else from now on!

We walked in, and walked right out. The employee who greeted us followed us around the entire store when we told him we were just looking, and everything is insanely overpriced. BigLots is much better.

I went shopping for a living room set for my mother who had recently lost her daughter and husband. She needed a ray of sunshine in her life so I figured some new living room furniture would giver her something to look forward to. It was a wonderful experience from the moment I walked in the door. Kerrie Thompson (the English chick) was our consultant throughout the whole Ashley journey and I'm very grateful for the wonderful experience she facilitated. Every time I visited the store she would ask, with sincerity, how I was doing and ask about my mothers well being. My family and I decided on a set, with Kerrie's professional assistance. Unfortunately the length of the sofa was too long to fit the turn into the living room. We had to send it back. This left us in a pickle as the old furniture was already in a new home. With out-of-state friends visiting soon, we had to act fast. Kerrie met us at the store and once again helped us pick out a set with the dimensions needed to fit in the house. She also made sure it was in stock at the warehouse and delivered within a few days. The journey was worth it. It looks wonderful in the living room. It was so nice to see a smile on my mothers face again. Thank you Kerrie and thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Ashley Danville who showed compassion during our time of grieving. You all helped provide the ray of sunshine that was needed in our life and I will be forever grateful.

I thought the prices were high and the furniture was arranged all over the store. Like the couches were so scattered, it became frustrating to find what you were looking for. We went in and circled right back out.

The store is absolutely beautiful, the staff was very friendly. Not pushy like the other places around town. Manager was very helpful, and has a passion for helping people learn about mattresses. We purchased a split king tempurpedic, and absolutely love it! I don’t have to sleep in my recliner anymore and I love the cooling! They also helped us find the perfect new living room group since mine was a little abused from sleeping on it. So thankful we found them, and will definitely be going back!

PRICE MATCH. PRICE MATCH. When visiting this store make sure you have the online prices on hand to price match all items. The day after making a large purchase: we received a call from the store saying that they gave us “too much of a discount & needed additional $800 + a few of the items on our receipt were discontinued.” 😳 After going in to get things straightened, I realized that MOST of the items were cheaper online (price match requested) + we didn’t mind purchasing the in-store/ used items that were now discontinued. Easy enough, right?! Well Stephanie, store manager/owner explained that if they price match ONE item, that they’ll also have to compare ALL your items (even if the price is higher+ change it to the higher price 🤯). Hmm, defeats the point of price matching right?- she called it, “apples to apples.” In addition, for the discontinued items, she would charge us more than the promotion because the max discount allowed for a in-store item is 10% 😡. It’s important to know that when you call the corporate location, all of this nonsense was false >> the store does NOT need to charge you more for doing a price match and on in-store items they can go all the way to 50% off. Nothing against Ashley furniture stores but the Danville location will get all they can get out of you & leave you hanging. Call corporate, they’ll fix their mistakes but if you don’t have the energy, don’t waste your time/ go online or JUST DONT GO!

We needed a new couch. Like really bad. We went in with a couch in mind that we’d like to look at. Stephanie showed us the couch that we had in mind and we realized it wasn’t for us. So instead she showed us a couple others and we found the couch that we wanted. It was close to closing time, but instead of rushing us Stephanie took the time explained everything and answered all of our questions. It was such a wonderful experience!

The sales lady we had was very patient about us looking at several different pieces of furniture. Store was stocked well. Prices are in the same range as other stores

The salesman listened to what I wanted, he didn't pressure me into buying more than I wanted. He found the perfect recliner to meet my needs and wants. The recliner is a bit stiff with the mechanical side, we can't recline it without a lot of force. I will contact Ashley and see if they fix it, if they do my rating will go to 5 stars. If they don't fix it I'll be removing one star, they deserve at least 3 stars for their wonderful salesman.

Great furniture, delivery was delayed due to covid, but finally got out bed set and all it great.

My daughter got a new bedroom set. They made the delivery fast and productive while withholding all covid-19 safety guidelines. Those guys did great and in good time. They worked together together and smart to get the job done fast. Thank you again for your service.

Some nice concepts but tacky overall looking furniture

I've made my last purchase there after very poor customer service! I purchased a media cabinet and it was delivered from Greensboro already assembled except for the shelves, and we started to put the shelves in and an inside panel was put together wrong ( slanted so that you can't put the shelves in) . They were called and it took 2 days for them to tell us somebody would come Saturday to fix it, then they called back and said they'd be here Friday. They didn't show or call and we called again and they said it would be September before they could come. That was not satisfactory and they would not let me bring it to the store and switch it for the one they had on the floor OR let me bring it in for a refund. Not my first purchase there but it will be the last. Said I'd have to talk to the warranty department and that should have absolutely nothing to do with furniture that arrived already put together wrong!

I will gladly share how one particular sales person in April 2020 raked me and my husband over the coals..!!! HOWEVER AFTER ALL THE WAIT TIME AND WRONG DELIVERY OF A SECTIONAL DUE TO HER ADDITION TO OUR PURCHASE,. WE returned to Ashley's for any help, THE MANAGER GERALD, AND A NEW TO US SALES LADY STEPHANIE ALONG WITH A GENTLEMAN NAMED CHRIS AND A SWEET ADDITION TO THE TEAM YOUNG LADY THAT I DIDN'T NAME I REMEMBER.. ALL WORKED SO VERY HARD FOR A FEW HOURS WITH US TO MAKE EVERYTHING RIGHT!!!!!!!!MY SELF AND HUSBAND LEFT THE STORE SO VERY HAPPY AND NOW THEY ARE PICKING UP THE WRONG STUFF AND DELIVERING A NEW SECTIONAL,WITH THE COLORS AND A CHAIR TO BOOT WITH ALL THE PERFECT PILLOWS, THEY SENT US HOME WITH....AS SENIORS ON A FIXED INCOME, AND HEARTBROKEN FROM THE FIRST SALES PERSON WHOM IS NO LONGER THERE!!! David truly went above and beyond in making sure my elderly grandmother got the very best deal she could get on her new recliner. We had just left Schewel’s sure that we wouldn’t find anything cheaper at Ashley, but what we found was a much much better deal. Would definitely recommend this store and specifically David.

I visited the Ashley HomeStore in Danville, VA a couple days ago. My wife and I had been looking for a new couch, and were pleasantly surprised at the huge volume and selection this store has. After browsing for a bit (in a no-pressure environment), we were helped by one of the associates, Michelle, and led to a couch that fit our space, decor and budget perfectly. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I went to my local Ashley store and purchased a five piece small dining set for my kitchen that I had viewed online. The Internet price was $100 less and the store matched it, of course! Item was brought to my house within 7 days and delivered on the day they said it would be. Got a text around 930 saying they would arrive in approx 45 min and they did just that! The two young men were polite, courteous, and got me all set up within about 15 minutes. Very happy with my experience! 😃

Very happy with our new king size bed, however it seems to be up to us! To attach our brand new headboard & bed frame together! So now that we paid them in full, they don’t seem to care, now we have to go and find the correct hardware to attach it , from Lowe’s.

Great well made products. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of their products. Only reason I am not rating 5 stars is because we ordered our furniture July 27th. Was told it would be ready August 17th. Only half of the order was ready, which we got delivered. The other half we were told wouldn't be available until August 28th. A whole month to wait for furniture is a very long time. Edit: After having the furniture right at 2 years now, lowering this rating down to 2 stars. The furniture hasn't held up. After having it for less than a month, one arm rest started to squeak badly whenever you touched it. They sent a person out for free to fix it. I watched him take it apart and saw what the furniture was made up. Basically plywood, springs, nails, screws with cushion and fabric stretched over top. Less than 2 years later, anywhere you sit makes a noise when you sit down on it. Very expensive furniture for cheap cost

David H. Was my sales consultant and he was fantastic! I was in the store numerous times over several months trying to decide what to purchase and asked for David each time for several reasons. David was a gentleman from the beginning and a great listener. His patience with my thousand questions was impressive and he was never pushy. I appreciated how knowledgeable he was about the different items. He helped me so much to make the right decision for my family. I visited almost every furniture store in Danville just to compare quality and service and can say that i will return to this store because of David.

No pressure to buy, very nice staff, lots of selection on nice quality stuff. On most stuff flexible pricing on cash sales. A little pricey, but got a good deal on a floor sample. Couch, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, coffee table and throw rug.

This store has great sales associates that don't pester you, but are very helpful and knowledgeable. I went in just looking as I was thinking about something I might purchase in the future and about a month later the associate texted me and ask if I was still interested and I said yes and agreed to come in again. The assistance she gave helped me decide to go ahead and make a purchase which I am enjoying today. Not only did I make a great purchase, I received a store credit that I was able to use to get a chair I had admired for free. Great experience all the way around.

I ordered a chair that resembled one I bought years ago in San Francisco. It is perfect for my needs. Delivery was smooth and quick. The drivers let me know several times where they were and how long until the delivery. I am pleased with the chair and with the delivery. I found an Ashley Furniture side table similar to one I own that I ordered from Amazon. When it arrived yesterday, As usual, the quality of the construction was excellent. My husband took me out to eat at Applebee's for my birthday, it used to be my favorite place to eat. Boy has it changed. The food was terrible I was very dissatisfied , But the waitress was great and we got very good service.

My husband and I came in yesterday to browse around and to check out a recliner for my husband. Robert Dickerson greeted us upon arrival, asking if he could help us. At that time we told him we were just going to browse around and would let him know if we had any questions. Upon finding a recliner my husband liked, Robert helped us not only with that recliner but a second recliner as well. He was so helpful we began asking questions about other furniture we have been considering replacing in our home. His help was far beyond anything we have ever experienced at Ashley's in our past experience. Not only did we purchase 2 recliners but a dining table and 8 chairs. Great place to get furniture good service and delivers in a timely fashion

I had a wonderful experience in this store. I stopped in with one of my sons who was looking for furniture, and we were not only greeted by the store manager himself, John, but he assisted us in finding exactly what we were looking for--with a no pressure approach. I would highly recommend this location, and I would recommend John Ariotti specifically! Thank you for such a great shopping experience.

Robert and Dustun were so kind, they brought my sofa after the delivery men weren't able to get it through the door! These guys helped by nephew take the door frame out to get the sofa in.....they did it and I'm so happy. The Ashley of Danville fir hiring great employees! Thanks guy.

We went there looking for a sofa and a reclining loveseat. After walking around the store and looking at the items, we found a few we liked. A salesman came up to us and offered to help, very polite. We immediately asked him how long it would take to get any items we purchased into our home, as we wanted our furniture by a specific date. He told us, without hesitation, just one two two weeks. This was within our timeline so we proceeded. After spending 2+ hours finding just what we want, specifying the fabric, and the layout of the sofa, he went to get pricing (prices are not posted, they are hidden in codes on the signs). He told us he would give us a discount, and then started quoting a lower price. Great, we will take the lower price of course. Then came the "This price includes fabric protector". No, I am not interested in that, how much without it? Well, he had to go figure that out. He comes back a few minutes later and says the difference is only $36. Well, for just thirty six dollars, fine, and he leaves to write up the order. As we sit there waiting, I re-calculate the pricing he gave us in our head. The prices do not jive. So, I walk over to him and ask him to confirm the price of one of the items that I could not recall exactly what he had priced at. He shows me his ipad and, in a testy tone, says that he is "trying to figure this out, it won't let me see prices until I'm off this screen". No problem, I will stand there and wait for my answer. Over comes my wife, we get out a piece of paper and start writing down the items. Sure enough, the $36 protectant is costing us $300. Not interested, in this, please remove it we tell him. So, now it's been about 5 or 6 minutes that he seems to still be on "the screen" and is ignoring us. Ouch, he got busted! Suddenly, after pretending we were not there, he says our furniture will be delivered January sometime (don't recall exact date, middle of the month sometime). We remind him he assured us it would arrive within a max of two weeks (putting it there in early December). He goes to his boss who comes over and tells us that there is a shortage, and the only way we can truly know if we can get it sooner or not is to pay for it. Uh, why not just get a confirmation? They can't, he says, unless we bought it already. No thank you, what is this, Obamacare, gotta pass it to see what's in it? So, we leave and purchase at Rooms to Go and they were amazingly great. Thank you so much, Ashley Furniture, for wasting our time.

I went into the store to look at a sectional with no intention to buy. I ended finding a deal I couldn't pass up and purchased a sofa. There was no high pressure sales pitch and I felt I was being helped but nobody was breathing down my neck as I was shopping. Overall a great experience!

I will never go here again. My husband and I was looking for new furniture to go in our new home. When we walked in, we were greeted however the person that was suppose to help us immediately judge us and didn’t help at all. Needless to say, we didn't buy anything we went to another store and bought just what we wanted.

I wanted to share my story so that potential Ashely Furniture buyers have a clear understanding on why it’s so important to shop around. This particular purchase was not an impulse buy, and I did indeed shop around, for several months in fact. I went to Ashley as well as other stores for three months looking at the living room furniture. Finally, after several months of deliberating, I decided on the Cosmo Marble L-shaped set from Ashley in Danville, VA. As mentioned previously, I spent an extensive amount of time trying this couch out, and every time I went into the store I sat on it for up to an hour. I purchased the couch/chaise/ottoman set in November 2014, and that’s when the nightmare began. The day they delivered I sat on each piece before I would sign-off for the delivery. The couch had a scraping noise when I sat on one particular part of the couch, and also, on the same section of couch, it felt like I was sitting in a huge hole. I had the delivery man confirm my speculations, and afterwards, he called his manager and discussed the issue. The manager said he was going to send out the individual who handled customer complaints with delivered furniture. However, this individual was not set to arrive until three weeks from then, so, I had some time to try out the couch extensively. Words honestly cannot express how dissatisfied and disgusted I am by how cheaply the furniture is made. The arm of the couch, which you would think you could lean against, causes you to readjust after just fifteen minutes. You can actually feel the wood and cheap insulation crunching around in the arms of the couch. You also continually have to readjust while sitting on this couch - it feels as if you are sitting on the frame. All of these experiences happened within the first week of having the piece. Naturally, I called Ashley the second week of having this furniture to talk with the manager. I told him how dissatisfied I was, and his first response was, “Oh, well just so you know, there’s a 30% restocking fee.” Additionally, the throw pillows that came with the couch are completely different than the ones on display. The ones in-store are filled with down feather, and the ones I got were filled with the same filling found in cheap pillows. I commented on this and the manager noted that, quote, “Ashley reserved the right to change the filling inside the pillows without notice” (no joke). Anyway, fast forward to when the guy came back to look at the furniture. He came in and inspected the furniture. The first thing he did was flip the couch over and remove the block cloth on the bottom. He said the scraping noise came from a bent nail that was scratching the wood (no problem, I guess). Next, I asked him why the furniture was sitting so low. He responded with, “Oh, I can fix that too!” So he put on his coat, and when I asked him where he was going, he said he was going to go to Lowe’s to buy a wooden board to put under the springs so they wouldn’t go down as much when someone sat in it. (Is this actually happening?) I told him, “Absolutely not, I paid $1,700 for the furniture, and I am not settling on a board under the springs.” So, he called the manager and told him that I deemed this unacceptable, so they agreed to send me a new couch. I was told this would take eight weeks. By the time it arrived, indeed, eight weeks later, the delivery men took a chunk out of my front door, tore a hole in the black cloth on the bottom of one section, and scraped my newly polyurethaned wood floors. A month passes. I call Ashley again to tell them how cheap the furniture is and how there is no resting on this furniture. To give you in-depth descriptions: you feel the frame in every position you sit in, your body aches when you get up, the cushions go flat immediately, and the pillows are uncomfortable. I just wanted to let other prospective Ashley buyers to beware of the quality of the furniture and customer service. I would not recommend Ashley to absolutely anyone.

Hired help moved my furniture I brought from Ashley a year ago and they lost the pieces to my bedroom set. I always love my experiences with furniture from Ashley; however, what sealed the deal was the way they treated me when I told them my bedroom set was in need of care. From the first response from Laura at the front desk to Joel in the service department I am happy that they turned my misjudgment of unqualified movers to a good critical thinking process. I am happy with the fact they treated me like I was family. Also, I usely will not buy furniture on credit but last year they helped me with in house financing. As I look at my furniture, I can say all the furniture I have brought through Ashley and through authorized dealers that carried Ashley products is still standing. I am thankful for the over the top service.

The overall staff is friendly and inviting. We've not made a purchasing decision but we'll definately buy furniture from this store. The store is beautiful. Everything is perfectly designed to make it feel andl look like your home. Now I understand why they call it a Homestore.
