I recently moved to the Newport News/Fort Eustis area, and before I even stepped foot into the Ashley store, I had the pleasure of working with Andrea. I was still on the other side of the country when I called to check availability on a few items, and not only did she confirm they had them, she immediately put them on hold for me. After a 20‑hour drive to Virginia, the very first place I went was the store because I wanted to meet the wonderful person who had been helping me from afar. Meeting her in person only confirmed what I already felt: she is warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient. She made my furniture selection process smooth and stress‑free. Andrea is a true asset to Ashley, and I’m grateful for the outstanding service she provided.

Service at the Store (newport, va) was excellent Charlie Green introduced himself immediately after we entered the store, we told him what our needs were and he immediately took us to that section. It did not take long for us to spot the recliner that not only looked good but felt good as well. The delivery was scheduled the following week and we were called the day prior to delivery and was given a delivery window. The only thing that was off schedule was the actual delivery time. But 4 hours later the two gentlemen made the delivery and were very apologetic but there ability setup our new recliner outweighed the lateness. 😃😃 Thanks

Sadly my apartment caught on fire and my son and myself lost everything….I came into Ashley furniture overwhelmed today looking for mattresses for my son and myself. David was so empathetic, patient, and understanding. He didn’t try to sale me anything. He heard me when I explained what I had going on and helped me with so much empathy. I believe his managers Charlie and David were just as empathetic and patient. I can’t begin to explain I appreciative I am of how they helped me through my purchase. I will be coming back to replace all my furniture lost in the unexpected fire.

The store was pretty busy the day I went in and I ended up speaking with a guy named Charlie who said he was a manager. I thought, great, this should a great experience, even better than I normally have but boy oh boy I was wrong. This guy Charlie acted very frustrated with me like I was bothering him when I just had some what I thought were normal questions. It was busy so I thought maybe it was that but he kept checking his phone while we were talking so he was obviously more interested in that than helping me make a purchase. I've never had such unprofessional customer service, especially from a "manager".

Ashley furniture should be your first or last stop for the quality furniture. We started at Haynes and staff were horrible and did not know what furniture available. Second stop was Harverty and they didn’t have a sale and no intentions of having one in the future. Their prices were outrageous! Third stop was Rooms To Go and had a sale but nothing like Ashley. The staff at Ashley were awesome and Ms. Mississippi was just awesome and will go back to see her first next time!!

If you are a busy person Ashley is not the store for you. I've been trying to pick up my furniture for 2 weeks and haven't been able to organize a time in the tiny window they give you to pick it up. We're moving out of town and it's a whole thing. When I bought it I thought I could pick up any time before 4. NOPE! You can only pick up your furniture on Monday or Tuesday by 4 pm at this store and not even on the weekend. I found out by calling around that they have a few workers trying to service ALL of the Grand Furniture stores and all of the Ashley Furniture Stores for loading and unloading furniture. So as much as that furniture costs, they cheap out on delivery people??? I thought, well ok I'll return the furniture and make it easier on us. Nope, 20% restocking fee if you don't return within 24 hours. So yep, any problem you better know about it before it arrives. Then I say "Ok, can you deliver it to an address in Hampton?" NOPE, it's got to go back to the VA Beach warehouse and start over if I do that. So then you ask why is that? The answer........policy. We're taking off work to pick up the hostage on Monday. 🤦🏾‍♀️

You will get approached immediately upon entering store. But, they are very polite and patient to allow you to walk around on your own. Prices were outstanding thanks to President's day sale. I want to preface this review by saying that we have bought from Ashley many times because we love their furniture. Essentially our entire living room and dining room is Ashley furniture so when we were looking for a new bed frame, this was the first place we looked. We found something we liked and had no issues while we were actually at the store. However, everything after buying this bed frame (delivery, working with their customer service) has been an absolute nightmare. We bought the bed frame at the end of September 2024. Our delivery of the bed frame was cancelled the DAY BEFORE, twice. First time they told us they did not have the whole bed frame and the second time was because the head board was found to be damaged. Finally at the end of November, on our 3rd scheduled delivery, our bed frame was delivered. However, the two feet at the end of the lateral rails were missing. The men who put the bedframe together placed something temporarily underneath to keep the bedframe level. We were assured they would order the missing parts for us. Well two weeks later when I've heard NOTHING, I call the customer service and they have no idea what I'm talking about. They didn't even have documentation that our order wasn't completely fulfilled. So I fill out an online ticket and am told they will deliver the parts. Over 2 weeks later we finally "get the parts" but they are NOT the right parts at all. They do not fit the bedframe we have. We call back and are told new parts are being ordered that will "hopefully be right." Well its been almost weeks and still no parts. I called on monday 1/20/25 and was told someone would get back to me next day. Well here I am sitting on hold AGAIN waiting to speak with customer service about where the heck the parts are. So essentially its been 4 months and we still don't have a bedframe. I am not even confident that this issue will get resolved at this point. The other frustrating thing with this whole experience is there's never any documentation of ANYTHING. Never an email to notify you that parts are on the way so you can track it or confirmation that a phone call took place. They essentially make it very hard to document that communication is occurring and I assume this is intentional.

Steven and Andy were very helpful. Andy was personable and honest while picking my couch which helped me so much. I have worked with Steven twice now and he has been more than helpful giving me the best offers when they have sales.
