Steve was amazing. Very polite and patient. We hate walking into furniture stores, like walking onto a car dealership. You get bum rushed as soon as you open the door. You will get approached immediately upon entering store. But, they are very polite and patient to allow you to walk around on your own. Prices were outstanding thanks to President's day sale. We highly recommend you give Ashley Furniture in Newport News with Steve a chance. He is typically off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I want to preface this review by saying that we have bought from Ashley many times because we love their furniture. Essentially our entire living room and dining room is Ashley furniture so when we were looking for a new bed frame, this was the first place we looked. We found something we liked and had no issues while we were actually at the store. However, everything after buying this bed frame (delivery, working with their customer service) has been an absolute nightmare. We bought the bed frame at the end of September 2024. Our delivery of the bed frame was cancelled the DAY BEFORE, twice. First time they told us they did not have the whole bed frame and the second time was because the head board was found to be damaged. Finally at the end of November, on our 3rd scheduled delivery, our bed frame was delivered. However, the two feet at the end of the lateral rails were missing. The men who put the bedframe together placed something temporarily underneath to keep the bedframe level. We were assured they would order the missing parts for us. Well two weeks later when I've heard NOTHING, I call the customer service and they have no idea what I'm talking about. They didn't even have documentation that our order wasn't completely fulfilled. So I fill out an online ticket and am told they will deliver the parts. Over 2 weeks later we finally "get the parts" but they are NOT the right parts at all. They do not fit the bedframe we have. We call back and are told new parts are being ordered that will "hopefully be right." Well its been almost weeks and still no parts. I called on monday 1/20/25 and was told someone would get back to me next day. Well here I am sitting on hold AGAIN waiting to speak with customer service about where the heck the parts are. So essentially its been 4 months and we still don't have a bedframe. I am not even confident that this issue will get resolved at this point. The other frustrating thing with this whole experience is there's never any documentation of ANYTHING. Never an email to notify you that parts are on the way so you can track it or confirmation that a phone call took place. They essentially make it very hard to document that communication is occurring and I assume this is intentional.
Steven and Andy were very helpful. Andy was personable and honest while picking my couch which helped me so much. I have worked with Steven twice now and he has been more than helpful giving me the best offers when they have sales.

Ms Mississippi was a great sales person very helpful and professional. The delivery process however was not so good. They broke my dresser and just left had I not moved it that night I would have never known. The customer service department was great and quick to get my issue resolved. Disappointed however that the replacement delivery was inconvenient and I never received a call back from mgmt as I requested.

Now I have to wait a week to get my brackets for my bed.

Services were great but paperwork seems unnecessary. In this age of technology, it would have been better if everything could have been paperless. I have been shopping with Ashley for years and your processes have not streamline like your competitors. No one wants to wait an additional 30 minutes to pay.

We had been working with Ms. Mary but she went out for surgery. She was very patient with us. Also very funny. Ms. Maleela opened the door earlier than the store was supposed to be open, when we came back. She was also profesional and pleasant to work with.
Very frustrated with this entire process. After purchasing a bedroom set and mattress they called my significant other down two times to resign paperwork. They gave a discount for the hassle and credited our account $100. Fine. Today we had a delivery scheduled… our THIRD attempt at this. We were told 4pm and if no one was home there would be a $99 fee. I made sure I was home since 2pm just to be sure. 430 rolls around and I ask my partner to call and see when we can expect delivery…. It was CANCELLED. No warning, no phone call. The mattress never came in (which has been the issue this entire time) and new delivery date is yet another week away. This whole situation has been a headache and unprofessional.

Family member recently purchased a floor model recliner but no staff was available to load it up. Upon arriving later with truck to pick up new recliner I was instructed to go around back to the loading dock. An assistant helped get it loaded but we later realized it wasn't even the correct item. We had to return the next day to swap it out for the item that was actually purchased. The only saving grace was the manager who discounted the transaction after the fact for our troubles.
MELODY is the best!! Make sure to ask for her when coming to this location. Melody did awesome showing us around, being helpful when picking and building a sectional that worked for our space, and was very personable.

Our only disappointment is the fact that our couch wasn’t available the day of purchase when we were under the influence that it would be. And now we still have to wait 2 to 3 weeks before we get the delivery.

I would never buy anything from here. I stopped in on my day off today looking for a particular style sofa set a customer I have is wanting. I also went to feel mattresses for me personally and one for my son. The woman who was supposedly there to help proceeds to tell my son “The mattresses aren’t toys go meet your momma”. I’m still wondering in what world it’s okay to make a child cry in a furniture store or to speak to a customers child in such fashion. I asked for the store manager and apparently that was her. Ashley furniture could do better.

I highly recommend you steer clear of Ashley furniture. If you find something you really like, at least purchase the extended warranty because it won't last more than a year. In regards to my reclining sofa and loveseat, the usb/reclining switches on the ends failed the 1st time within the first year. At the end of year 1(when the store warranty runs out), the couch now creaks, squeaks and feels like it is going to fall apart. Not rigid or durable at all and highly regret ever making this purchase. At this point, 1 year and 3 months, the usb/reclining switch failed again, but with the couch reclined. Do your research, don't jump the gun because there is nothing they will do after year 1.

We came in asking to try out the most comfortable power reclining sofas, being that we've both had spine surgeries this past year. She patiently walked us thru their many options & steered us toward their Next Gen dura fabric when we mentioned we had two large dogs. We've had the sofa several weeks now. It still looks like new & we couldn't be happier with how modern it looks & how comfortable it is! Save your money (skip Lazy-Boy...we compared & their warranty & product offerings are no better & way more expensive). Miss Mississippi saved us hundreds over the store right down the road & we have a reclining sofa that doesn't look like we're grandparents (even though we are)!

Shall is wonderful!!! We went to a lot of stores and got prices for the items we were looking for. When we came here, I honestly didn't want to come. But Shall made the experience so pleasant and left no question as to what we were considering and the pricing. She gave us a sheet that broke down the price , fees and total price commitment so we could make a truly informed decision. That sealed the deal for us. Excellent prices and friendly customer service, welcoming atmosphere
Went in store and was immediately greeted and helped, they were patient and really worked with us (that's why they get the 2 stars) told them we needed the furniture delivered the 24th of September (tomorrow) and we went ahead and paid the delivery fee. They called today saying they don't have any more new units of this particular model and they won't be delivering to us tomorrow. We can take the floor model, but not until the 27th because they "can't have a spot open on the floor." They are giving us our delivery fee back and taking $500 off because it's the floor model. As a company, you should do more if the company messes up your order. They also never apologized for their mistake.
This is my first purchase from Ashley Furniture and I will be back. The whole staff was so nice we loved Shala Miss Mississippi she helped my son pick out a great recliner. So very nice!! Go see Shala she will help you!! The Store Manager Ms.Swanson was great also she has an amazing team!! Very helpful staff. They put up with our 1 hour decision making progress. Delevery was on time and fast. Dont let the deliver guys rush you. Inspect your goods before they leave.
Ordered our 3 piece sectional, had to wait a week for it to be delivered, the delivery guys were great, but 1 of the 3 pieces was the wrong color, so we have to wait another week to have our full couch. No one called until I called asking when it was going to be delivered, the drivers said it was Wednesday, and now it's Thursday. It's been a headache and I'm not sure I would return here. I feel like some of the delivery price should be refunded. 😕
I personally have seen and felt the quality of the sofa and loveseats that they sell. My stepdaughter and son in-law bought theirs here and it's not that old. It has already broken. They have called to have it repaired and have not had any success with customer service. They are getting the run around about back orders and told that this part is in stock and then told no it's that part. The lady at the store won't take their calls to fix their problem or help them. She refuses to do anything about it. The sofa front literally sits on the floor. The whole side of the sofa sinks in. They want to put brackets on it. They should replace the sofa. The sofa is made with staples. I looked at it myself. My son in-law is a tiny guy and my stepdaughter isnt big either. There is no reason that the sofa should have collapsed. This company is talking about December now on fixing the sofa. Wth?! It's not even August. I wouldn't buy anything here if this is how things are dealt with when stuff breaks. I understand furniture can be faulty, but again this sofa is put together with staples. Cheaply made. No wonder there's a profit.
My daughter bought her disabled son a bedroom suit. She had to wait almost 2 months for it to come in. First delivery, the footboard was broken. Several weeks later they delivered another broken bed. Third delivery was broken. They found one in the warehouse and told her she could pick it up before it’s gone. She picked it up. The installer came after work and found it broken. It’s sitting in our garage waiting for it to be picked up. Lord knows if we’ll ever get an unbroken bed or when. The delivery guys are great. It’s the warehouse. They should all be fired. Very unsatisfactory customer service. My grandson is sleeping in the mattress on the floor or the couch. This is awful.

Stuff breaks after two years not worth the money spent. Stay away from them at all cost. Couch completely broken after two years . Table chair broke after a year. Money waisted. Walmart furniture cheaper than this stuff last longer. Update the warranties are terrible too they said it will take four months to fix there junk . Yes stay away . Also management never reach back out to me after I called . Poor service all the way around. I wish they can have negative stars for reviews.

As soon as my husband and I entered the store, we were greeted by a sales associate who didn’t share her name with us, but made it very clear that they have financing. She made it a point to emphasize on house financing IF there’s a problem. We started to look around, and she approached us again, stating she could get the financing process started. My husband stated no, we would be paying for any purchase out right no financing. She then proceeded to stare both of us up and down, with a stare as if to say yeah right you can’t afford that. We were very unimpressed with her professionalism, and will never be returning.

I have received damage furniture over three times. I brought my children two brand new headboards, dresser and I put the mattresses on financing so I'm spending a substantial amount of money with these people. Including furniture for other rooms. Now, one of the headboards either the movers or warehouse workers kept damaging my furniture, over three times. There where scratches, the wood was swollen spreading apart. Now I been on a waiting period of 8 months and yet no bed. Ashley's feel that it should be acceptable and I should settle for what was given with no remorse or consequences.

I originally came in the store in January 2022. I worked with Alexis. I closed on my home in April 2022 and my furniture was supposed to be delivered by end of June. I checked back in June and got told now it would be July. So when I called in July, they then told me it’s August now for my items to be delivered. I called and spoke with a manager on Friday 7/15 and spoke to a manager. I advised her that I’ve been patiently waiting since April for my things. She stated that it was 1 headboard that was still not in. So I asked if there was any other beds in stock because my kids have been sleeping on the floor since April. She told me there was a bed in stock and she was going to update my order to reflect the bed in stock. She told me that everything would be delivered 7/20 and that I would get a call 48hrs prior for a window of delivery time. I called the store today, which is 7/19 and I get told that NOTHING had been switched and that I was not even scheduled for delivery. This is a complete inconvenience to me and my children. The store had such careless attitude about the whole situation. I will NEVER EVER buy anything from this company and I will make sure to let EVERYONE I come in contact know. I give this store 0 stars. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE

Ashley Home Furniture is one of the worst places. Their parent company Grand Brand is extremely underhanded. They don't inform you of anything and during the pandemic Ashely/Grand Brand had no issues running to court and locking up your account. Fast forwarded to getting them paid off. Now they still wanna try and issue a summons to court. On top of that HOW dare you share my Private Bank records with my EX WIFE. I call to gather information and rep. Shirley Moore of Grand Brand/Ashley wants to be extremely rude and hang up on people. Then when I am finally able to get into a conversation with the same REP. I get the rude "SO WHAT ARE YOU CALL FOR." CONGRATULATIONS Ashly because of your business with Grand Brand I WONT do business with you ever again and I did send a letter to the Better Business Burrow.

Derwin at Ashley Furniture - Newport News was excellent! We’ve had sales folks at other stores show us everything under the sun to try and make a sale. Derwin only showed us furniture that fit what we were looking for and made great suggestions to fit what we needed.

Unfortunately, the most unpleasant experience ever in dealing with Ashley’s.The Newport News, VA store seem to not care about keeping a customer satisfied, even when the mistake was made by the Ashley team. The store manager apologized several times but offered no consolation for our loss of merchandise, time, and trust. We had a great experience at the Ashley store in Asheville, NC and expected the same level of service in Newport News but were sadly disappointed.
Mrs. Andrea was very kind and patient with us. I truly enjoyed working with her she allowed us to explore all our options without placing any pressure. I would most definitely come back to work with her again.

Ashley furniture believes that damage furniture should be acceptable. I was told that there will be some sort of damage and it's out of there hands. As a customer spending 989.00 on two head boards and a dresser you think they would respect my services. This one head keep coming back damage third head board and the wood is coming up on one corner scratches and scrapes. Now they prolonging on giving me my head board hoping I would just accept the one i have. If I wanted damage furniture I would go to a thrift store.
I just purchased my bedroom set today and I got my living room set about a month ago.
This review is for shopping online at Ashley’s. Each time I click on an item that I would like to see, the item is blocked out by a page that prevents me from seeing the item; but insists that I write my zip code and do some other stuff..??!! ‘Guess they don’t want my business. I end up going to another store, (that allows me to look at the item I’m interested in) - and shopping with them.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The sales portion was great and flawless because they ultimately made money. However, the delivery process has been completely unacceptable. It has been 3 different times to try and get my bed frame delivered and 3 times it has gone wrong. The first 2 times the wrong frame was delivered. The third time, the hardware to put the frame together was forgotten. I bought my set in the beginning of October and it is now the middle of November, and I still dont my entire set. When I called the store each time there was a mistake, I get the response of "oops, let's reschedule another delivery." Save yourself the aggravation and go to a different business because other than taking your money, this place doesn't care about customer satisfaction.

This was the worse and still going experience i ever had i will never go there ever again. Ordered a table and they didn’t have two legs. When they forget something they have to take everything back so they also took my chairs. I asked for my chairs to come on a separate delivery they came and had sharpie marks on them. I didn’t noticed until i was finished working and was moving them to the other room. Then was told they will come again. When the table was restocked because now they were sold out. I had to wait 3 weeks to get my table only come to find out they again didn’t have the legs .when i called the customer service manager he basically gaslighted me cause i wanted a partial refund. In the process i did manger to get my delivery fee back and 100 dollars back. He told me i couldn’t get a full refund if i wanted it cause i would have to pay a restocking fee. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! You all keep messing up and i cannot a full refund back because they couldnt get it together to send me a table with legs. It makes no sense to me at all. This whole time I kept my cool. But all this and i still do not have my table. When he said that to me i almost lost it. Never again will i go back to Ashley furniture worst experience ever.

Elegant furniture, great customer service and fast delivery. Their delivery crew was one of the best I've seen in a long time. They assembled and arranged our furniture in a timely fashion. Kudos to the delivery team, well done.
We ordered a sofa and a large chair from Ashley HomeStore. The ordering process itself was smooth, however, the problem came with delivery and the minimal assembly required for the items (specifically drilling the feet in). Ashley HomeStore subcontracted to an outside delivery company, and the the two-person delivery crew incompletely drilled one of the feet with a screw sticking out which subsequently put a large gash in our hardwood floor when one of the delivery people moved it (by dragging it across the floor, rather than lifting), immediately followed by an attempted hasty retreat on their part. I understand that things may get damaged whenever moving is involved, however, my primary problem with this and the reason I am writing this review is what transpired next. When I pointed out the scratch in my floor that this man had just made, he opted to start yelling at me in my driveway rather than just calmly let me note this on the paperwork. Also, the other feet on both items are screwed in askew and will have to be fixed. It is extremely disappointing that Ashley chooses to work with a company that is so careless and incompetent, especially since the furniture was not inexpensive.
Beautiful and costly
We went to this store nearly 3 weeks ago and specifically asked for a table set that was already in stock. We had family coming into town and just purchased our home. They delivered our table with no chairs. We have repeatedly reached out to the store and got bounced around to different people, transferred with no answer, and promised someone will follow up, never happened. We were told they will deliver our chairs last Saturday we waited an entire day and canceled plans for a delivery that was not happening. This is unprofessional and blatant lack of concern for the customer we will no longer be doing business here.
This is a fantastic place to shop for a mattress. Ask for Nicolas. He's extremely patient, knowledgeable, and makes sure you get the mattress right for you for the best price.

I was trying to order something online but the order wouldn’t go through so I called the store. I asked if they deliver to my location I was told yes it was a $100 delivery fee I pay when item get to warehouse. The warehouse told me when they call that they do not deliver to my location. I’m not sure why the store told me they do! I Called the store back and explained what happened and they told me they had a private company that delivers for them and they would reach out to the person…guess what? two days later no call back. I love Ashley. I just won’t order in the store anymore. If I was told they didn’t deliver to me in store why would I order furniture at a warehouse an hour and 40 min away. I didn’t want it that bad! I bought my bed from Ashley online. They were supposed to deliver it yesterday and never showed up. I called several times but kept telling the delivery was coming yesterday.
We ordered a bed in March that came broken and with many missing parts. Every time I called customer service because they didn't even care to call us for updates, their story kept changing. We were on this back and forth for 2 months until my bank refunded me my money thru a claim filed. Ashley furniture has poor customer service. I wouldn't recommend to anyone...
I bought a coffee bar for my Air Force daughter. Paid for it to be assembled & delivered. Today, the coffee bar was delivered but was missing pieces, so it could not be fully assembled. When my daughter called the store regarding the missing pieces, she spoke to a rude individual in customer service, who informed my daughter that the missing pieces could be shipped to her in 2 wks & my daughter could finish assembling the coffee bar. My daughter politely declined, stating that I had paid for delivery & assembly. She couldn't understand why the pieces were missing in the first place & was informed that " the warehouse forgets to include pieces at times". My daughter stated that she would expect that if the furniture was used, but this furniture is brand new. Poor excuse! My daughter did not receive a phone call or email regarding the missing pieces. She only received a call that the deliverymen were on their way. Why would you send the furniture item to be delivered, if you did not have all of the pieces??!! THIS IS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! THE ATTITUDE OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WAS TERRIBLE!! I unfortunately saw the multiple poor reviews of Ashley Furniture after I had made the purchase. I will NOT be making another purchase at Ashley Furniture EVER AGAIN!

Lead time for the couch I purchased was set at 4 weeks. Ok fine, no problem just so long as it arrives right? Saved the date, just found out from "customer service" that its actually 12 weeks and that this new date is not guaranteed in any way, nor was the old one a real delivery date. I will never buy furniture from here again. One or two days would be one thing but 8 weeks! I could've gone to Ikea and had a couch the same day. So apparently I paid this company full price for the "idea" of getting a couch and not actually getting a couch. No communication has been made by the company to let me know that the date changed or why my couch needs to sit in a warehouse for 8 (possibly more! Remember no guarantees!) weeks before delivery. Nor has there been any sort of set date for when the couch will be delivered. God, I wish I'd checked the reviews before buying because it sounds like this is the nasty trick they pull on everyone, pay for furniture they have no interest in delivering.
I will never purchase furniture from them again. My husband and I purchased furniture October 10, 2020 and still have not received the bedroom set we purchased. It's been nearly 6 months and they told us at time of purchase up to 12 weeks. It is far more than 12 weeks. Whenever I call they say, it's because of COVID-19. I understand the COVID-19 delays, but 6 months ! I'm so very unhappy right now and will be reporting them to the better business bureau. I have nothing to show for the money we paid this company. This is not how you keep customers.
I have bought furniture from Ashley’s furniture from another part of the state, so came to this one when we moved to Williamsburg. The kitchen table display had 4 baskets with it , but when mine arrived, I thought they were just forgotten. I called my sales person who told me, “oh honey, you don’t get those”. I was upset but just asked her to tell me where they purchased them so I didn’t have to look around town. No response. Then I was looking on the Ashley website and the baskets did come with it. In fact, every other website that sold that brand /model table , the baskets were included. I took a screenshot of Ashley Furniture’s description that the baskets were included. Texted to my sales rep. Who then said she would check on Saturday (this past Saturday). As of this moment, no response. Further, the 2,000 dollar couch I purchased came with dirt spots and the carriage cover under the couch had 3 holes in it. They were very nice and said we’re going to replace a section but called them back and left a message to find out what exactly they are replacing since the couch came in 3 sections. No return call. Now, tomorrow I will reach out to the store manager for his/her involvement. I am exhausted with this poor service, especially since I spent $3,000 on my purchase.

Ashley Newport News in the worst store to purchase furniture. I went in to purchase on two occasions and each time there was an issue!!! Lisa the assistant manager refused to help the situation and talked very disrespectful !!! There has not been any good experiences at this store and if I could give 0 stars I would!!!
I visited there today with my daughter. She spent over $2000 on a bedroom set and was told with a witness that the bed was in stock and would be 3-4 weeks. Even though she didn't want to wait that long she agreed because she liked the bed. They said they would call and never did. So she called them and after being told the bed was in stock they proceeded to tell her it wasn't in stock and could be 12 weeks. That wasn't what she was told in the beginning and has been lied to repeatedly. Today we went to the store to try and get the truth and we're lied to once more by the assistant manager and the original salesman. I have never seen such bad service. They lost a good customer today. They just had to be honest from the beginning.
Don't sleep looking hers before you decide to purchase.

This is the first time I have ever bought anything from Ashley. When our new wood bed frame arrived, we found the box was damaged. So I unpacked each piece and looked at it to find two pieces damaged. I called immediately and sent pictures of the damage in and was told someone would call me back within 48 hours. After double that amount of time, I called the number again and was told that someone would reach out to me that day to let me know what would be done about my damaged parts because I cannot put the bed frame together without them. A whole 48 hours later and still no phone call. I had planned on buying more furniture, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you want a company that will do as they promise and stand behind their product than shop elsewhere. UPDATE: Our damaged pieces arrived with no communication from the company that they were sent. We proceeded to put the bed together to find that we had one incorrect piece and were therefore missing a piece. So we have to wait again to assemble a bed. We will be finding another store to shop at from now on. I do have to say the number I called to get help were the nicest people.
We purchased our beautiful dining set on 09/07/20 and it arrived today 12/5/20. In the very beginning I was very disappointed with the way that things were handled. Several date changes and no one could give us accurate information... We were having to call them to find out about any changes.... Now yes we are aware of COVID and everything that it is affecting but it was still a very frustrating process up until a few weeks ago. We had began to work with our sales person and were actually going to cancel the order but the store manager Cassandra called and did all that she could to help us. Here we are a few weeks later and we have our beautiful set. So at the end of the day I have to thank Cassandra, Alexis and the rest of the Ashley Homestore team here in Newport News, Va for turning my terrible experience (in the beginning) into a great one! I am in love with my dining set and the service that we have received overall! You will continue to have a loyal customer in me...
Absolutely awful! We ordered our bed frame back in September from Mary Johnson, waited our allotted time NEVER heard back from the store until we called to find out what was going on then we were told it was delayed. Waited out allotted time AGAIN only to never be called back until WE CALLED only to be told it had been DELAYED AGAIN!!!! I do understand there is a pandemic going on, but the only thing that’s worse then sleeping on a frameless bed is their lack of communication!!! I AM NEVER BUYING FROM HERE AGAIN! Nor would i ever recommend them!

We ordered furniture back in September with an estimated date of the first of October. Delay after delay, out furniture finally arrived on November 16th. Which we were understanding, as we know the virus has put a wrench in a lot of stuff. The problem is we told the person who called our situation with delivery that we were not sure if it was going to be Sunday or Monday. She said that was no problem and we tentatively set it for Monday. She said if something were to change, just to give them a call, so we did, all of a sudden the tone changed and we can’t change the date. We have worked around their delivery having painting and some renovation done, and now it’s an issue. We have the living room and 2 bedroom sets left to replace, but I think we will be trying another store next go around.
I ordered a table for my anniversary present to my wife two months ago and on the delivery date they tell me they don’t have it they don’t know when I’m gonna get it and there’s four people ahead of me. Then they want 20% restocking charge to give me my money back. I would give them zero stars if I could. Very unhappy with Ashley furniture.
I should’ve known from the moment I went to look for Furinture how unprofessional my first impression was as a customer...BUT I still gave it a try...my sales associate was okay she told me from the start my delivery would take possible 2-3 weeks which was okay...I had the same number through the ENTIRE process, expecting a phone call once the 3rd week approached to receive delivery information...yet no call...I call, call, and call no response to my voicemails or calls from any one at the Newport News location...yet finally when I do get in touch a week and half later my sales associate tells me it will be another 3-4 weeks until I receive my items because the truck was in a crash.....which I understand BUT WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS WHY DID I NOT GET A CALL, EMAIL, TEXT WITH THIS INFO???? she told me because I kept calling....and she finally answered telling me that happened a few days ago....I ended up emailing back and forth with a someone from the company to get my items delivered...yet when delivered they had the wrong sized items so I had to wait yet again!!!! And for the trouble?? I receive a $150 coupon from Ashley furniture that can’t go towards the items I waited OVER 2 months for.....HAHA! Long story short...do NOT BUY HERE! You will be disappointed from the moment you lock in a contract...They never answer the phones, they rush you, the associates do nothing to assist you...I have patience because I understand working in a demanding field however the associates there really just seem lazy and don’t care of a clients best interest...
Called to get a price on a bed and a sectional that I would like to purchase. The lady that answered the phone was far from pleasant. I didn't even get a chance to ask about the sectional. She sound like she don't want to be at work ((huntching my shoulders)) If that's the case she should have kept her you know what home. People fail to realize that good customer service is extremely important. I recommend that she go home, revamp and hit the reset button before Ashley furniture lose another or maybe even more customers.

We ended up purchasing a table for our daughter and when we were paying for the table, the cashier gave the impression that were bothering her with all of the questions. The sales woman's told us to call right away to the warehouse before we go and pick up the merchandise, the cashier told us we did not have to call before we go. Just to call them when we are on the way. A little confusing. We will see what happens when we arrive at the warehouse to pick-up the table. We will not shop at this store when we visit Newport News in the future.

Seems like a nice store but customer service doesn’t seem like a priority. I was not greeted when I walked and and none of the associates offered any help. Walked around for about 15 minutes with no help then finally gave up. Will not be spending my money here.

Its easy to place an order with this company online, just don't actually expect it to arrive when they tell you. When they send an email that says Items Arriving by In-Home Drop-Off (Assembly required) Delivery scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2020 thats just a suggestion and it means hopefully they will ship your item by the expected delivery date. Oh and update the customer, they don't do that. Just expect to not work if you actually want to be home to be there when your furniture may or may not be delivered. I would tell you the couch is comfortable but I still havent seen it yet. Maybe in 3-5 business days.
I was in that store for TWO hours getting my info put into the system and getting approved! The guy spelled my name wrong, did NOT explain my options to me! Quoted me the wrong price from the beginning and bc I wanted the set badly, I had to settle for the new price! Very frustrating!! They need to do better with training their people! If I could give that store 0 stars I would! The guy should have been shadowing someone that KNEW what they were doing until he learned the ropes! He missed paperwork to give to me, ran my credit incorrectly! I will NEVER purchase from Ashley’s AGAIN after my experience! Do better y’all! Bc I’m telling EVERYBODY I know to NOT go there....EVER! The store is well decorated, but the sales associates are so disconnected with their potential buyers. Didn't make me feel welcome, also the prices are crazy high. U can get better quality buying your furniture at Costco.
The furniture at this store is good, but the delivery and customer service afterwards is not to good. They deliver my bed without the rails or the row slats that was suppose to come with the bed. When I went to the store they told me I wasn't going to be charged for the row slats but I was and they said it would come off my card in a month. Here it is 7 months later and I'm still getting the run around from both the furniture store and synchrony bank who aren't talking to each other about it! So be careful when you buy from them and make sure everything is listed be you pay for anything!

UPS messed up a delivery to my moms house. I had ordered her a mattress while I live in a different state. UPS had no answers to help at all I texted Ashely home store and they texted me back with a service they provide I explained the situation and they issued a reorder with no hassle what so ever.! Mama’s got a brand new bed and I’m grateful that you still have companies out here that honor the consumer. Thank you
I am a first time buyer and I came in today for a sectional couch and bedroom set. I was politely greeted by Melissa. She was VERY professional and helpful. I was worried that the associate would be pushy and rush me into something I wasn’t comfortable with, but Melissa was very resourceful and patient; she went above and beyond to ensure I found what I wanted in my price range. I got everything I needed in one quick visit. Ask for her during your visit, you wont be disappointed!

Just avoid Ashley Furniture. Their service and quality has gone really downhill. Most of my house is furnished with Ashley Furniture that I bought over the past 10 years, but i wont buy another thing from them after my latest experience. The store experience was great, everything went smoothly and they let me know my product would be delayed because it wasn't available right now. We understood and purchased. Fast forward a month later when they finally deliver the entertainment center we bought. The delivery people were in and out incredibly fast and by the time i finally got to inspect the unit, I noticed that it was broken and pieces were missing. I called immediately and got a very rude answer that they cant turn around and pick it up (this was 2 minutes after they left) because they have other stops and other customers and that "I should have refused it when they delivered it" eventho they were in my house for a total of 5 minutes and were gone before i even got to look at it. I finally get escalated to corporate and they swear that someone will be by to pick it up today (the next day) before 10 am. 10 am rolls around and no one is here to pick up the damaged united. In fact it is 5 pm now and still no one to pick it up. So now I am sitting here with a damaged unit and the company has lost all credibility to me. Edit: As I mentioned on the phone when you talked to me after the fact, They never rang the doorbell so not sure how I was suppose to know they were at the door since I dont check the door whenever my dog is barking. Also I was guaranteed they would be there before 10:00AM and they showed up at 1:00 PM after I told you I had an appointment after 10:00AM.

I have been waiting on a foundation (box spring) for my son’s bedroom set for almost a month. I was told it would be delivered on a Saturday but due to the warehouse not having any trucks, I would have to wait another week. I will never buy anything from Ashley’s, and recommend you do the same!
Ordered online and had items delivered which turned into way more trouble than it was worth. When I finally found out which day my item was scheduled to be delivered, I called to see if I could change the day. I work full time and can not take off work for a furniture delivery. It took being transferred 3 times and being on hold each time to find the right person to talk to. They told me they only deliver to my area two days out of the week, both of which were weekdays. The time of delivery can not be scheduled, either. I decided to ask someone to leave their work to be at my house for the delivery. The e-mail said the driver would call 40 minutes out, which was no problem, since the person coming over was 15 minutes away at work. I get a text saying "your delivery will be there in 10 minutes". I frantically call the person to rush to my house in time. The driver calls me moments later saying "you're not home, if you're not here soon I am leaving" and I literally am a teacher begging this man to wait on the phone in front of my class. He didn't seem to care when I told him I was expecting 40 minutes notice. Two minutes later, I get another phone call from a lady saying the exact same thing. Thankfully the person going to my house made it just in time, but the whole experience was very stressful with someone with a full time job. The 40 minutes notice that I received via email was a complete joke. I would NOT recommend delivery to anyone with a full time job, unless you have people over the age of 18 hanging out at your house all day waiting for a furniture delivery.

Absolutely horrible experience with service department. After one month of use one of our nightstand drawers has broken. We had to wait 2 weeks for a technician to come out just to tell us he could not repair it. We were supposed to receive a call from service on Monday to arrange for replacement. No call was received. I called on Thursday and arranged for delivery of a new nightstand for Sunday Nov 17. On Friday Nov 15, I received a call stating my delivery date was changed to Monday Nov 18. That is not enough notice to arrange for a day off from work. At this point, I was now working with Kathy Ross. Kathy arranged for the new nightstand to be delivered to a store 30 miles away so we could exchange the nightstands there. This was supposed to happen on Wednesday Nov 20. As of today, Nov 23, this has not occurred. Spoke with Ms Jefferson today. She stated there were no nightstands in the warehouse and none available from the vendor. I called and spoke with Cassandra, store manager. She stated there were 25 nightstands available in the warehouse. We also had many problems with our initial delivery. If you purchase furniture from Ashley, be prepared for multiple delivery and service issues.
The staff are very helpful and I love when they have 50% or 60% sales. Plus be sure to look online because something you really want may not be in the store but they will be happy to order it for you at the discounted price. I love the bed I bought. It's heavy, made of wood, and very sturdy. The hubby wanted a platform bed meanwhile I love tall beds. So this bed is everything we were asking for.
The salesperson that waited was very professional. He was helpful and very accommodating.

This store is well put together and very professionally staffed. Its not huge so you will see a limit on styles, but its right on for the price point. We walked in on a 40%off sale. Which was cool. So I would first say, only shop the sales. I would have a fit if I had to pay a thousand dollars more on Friday than I do on Thursday. I did learn this, their online prices always beats the instore list price. Soooo Online It Is!!!
The furniture at Ashley is really nice and a wide variety of styles. The quality has always been great for me. The buying experience is pretty swift and painless. There's very little upselling, generally around the protection plan.

Very unprofessional!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would. I was quoted a delivery of 2 to 3 weeks and still haven’t received it. Ive been calling the salesperson and management who are not returning my phone calls in fact calling my husband “they couldn’t get a hold of me” but when I called back they said that was the number I gave them not true . My husband calls me upset they told him October 2nd. I called back they ignored my call twice I called from work number and they picked up . When Cassondra told my husband they couldn’t get ahold of me I have called her twice I’m very upset . This is the 3 rd furniture set I had picked out because the other 2 sets were not available till October. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer . I have been in my new house a month with no furniture and having 55 people over this weekend for my daughters birthday party and have no living room furniture. I have left a message and called twice to Cathy Ross and have not received a call back ! I need someone to fix this this is absolutely ridiculous!!!!
**UPDATE: 9/17/19/FINALLY received the replacement parts I was needing after 7 months on 9/12/2019 HOWEVER conveniently they sent the refund check of $100 they offered me to the WRONG address!!! You sent the parts to the correct address but not the check..Hmm** ****UPDATE: 8/29/19/// I have ALREADY sent emails with detailed explanations along with my own pictures!!! What else could you all possibly need to resolve the issue?! Let’s see how long this takes to “RESOLVE”**** Well where do I begin... We are a military family that was overseas for 7 years. During that time we purchased numerous Ashley Furniture pieces from our store on base so when we arrived stateside in January we were super excited to go to Ashley Furniture to purchase items for our new home even though people told us to avoid them. In February of this year we went to the Newport News location and spent about $5,000 in their store. About $3,800 on a couch and $1,000 for a new mattress and box spring & then bought Tempurpedic pillows!!! When our couch was delivered I instantly noticed all these treads that were coming out the couch cushions. As if they were in a rush when they made it. So in March I initiated the claim with Furniture Options. A few weeks later they sent out one of their representatives to take pictures and assess the damage. He then told me the Couch was definitely poorly made and he would put in a work order to get the right piece completely replaced and then cushions covers for the remaining pieces. So I patiently was waiting for someone to contact me. A month goes by and NOTHING! I call them...They said they would “RESEARCH” it. ANOTHER MONTH goes by and NOTHING! I call AGAIN! Still researching! Another month goes by and and by this point I’m mad and they get it delivered like TWO weeks later! So they deliver the Right side part (it’s a 3 piece couch) but now I need all the other cushion covers that need replacing ANOTHER TWO months go by with me making NUMEROUS calls & finally they send that same guy out! He brings the cushion cover for the left side but then realizes that the other TWO CUSHION covers he brought DO NOT fit the TWO INNER cushions. They were for the right piece which had ALREADY been completed replaced! I’m so annoyed and I tell him well it took almost 4-5 months to get to this point! I then ask him will it take that long to get the correct ones I need. He brushed off my comment and said he’d be back the following day (which would’ve been a Friday) or if not Monday. Do you think this man came back?! NO! TWO WEEKS later I get 2 cushions covers from UPS. STILL the wrong ones!!! I call customer service they say they will order the CORRECT ones AGAIN! TWO weeks later (which was yesterday) I get the cushion covers the last Representative I spoke to ordered....AGAIN the WRONG damn thing! Like how many times do I have to explain myself till we get it right! Do you know how many times Representatives said they would look into it and have someone call me and NEVER did anyone call me to update me!! As someone who has previously worked in retail this is completely UNACCEPTABLE! At this point it seems like my issues will get resolved NEXT YEAR & truthfully you all can come get your couch and REFUND my money back! I’ll take my business down to Haynes or Rooms to Go! Somewhere that I’ll be respected as a customer and where my concerns will be heard!!! I seriously NEVER want to do business with you all! I called customer service AGAIN yesterday and she gave me an email address where she told me to send pictures and detailed information. She advised me no one would reply back to me as they only read those email but don’t reply back! Well I guess my email got someone’s attention because I received a reply back! If i could have rated MINUS stars, i would have. They are unprofessional and just plain crooks. I normally post only positive reviews on Google but this experience was too glaring to not bring to attention of unsuspecting shoppers. This is for the Ashley Furniture store on Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA. They take furniture prices off the Ashley website, double the price, then advertise a half off sale. Then they mail out coupons for $500 off $1000 spent. I went into the store to explain i got the mailer the day after i made the purchase and was told i had received a better deal than the mailer since they sold me the furniture at half price. I came home, checked the website and the furniture was listed, regular price, NOT on sale, for the "sale" price i was charged in the store. When i called the store to complain, i was told they are a franchise and can put whatever price they want on the furniture !!! And it begs the question, WHY would a customer even care that theres a difference between the Ashley website and the Ashley brick and mortar store? Since when you look online, you put your zipcode in to find nearest store, the customer is led to believe they are looking at the website for THAT store.....another Ashley Furniture illusion !!
The furniture quality is bad. The good news is that they replaced or repaired the furniture. However, it gets a little old having to keep calling them back to fix another problem. Getting through to their customer service is very difficult as well. I would not buy from them again.
I will never order from them again. Purchased 8 items , only 2 items arrived on time and correct. Only reason we purchased from Ashley furniture was because we were told it was available, when rooms Togo did not have anything available until the end of the month. Well.... couch, sofa, loveseat- arrived in wrong color and had to reorder. Now we are waiting 3-4 weeks before we will POSSiBLY receive them Tempurpedic mattress- arrived on time but wrong firmness Oversized chair and ottoman- only chair arrived on time. They were not even going to tell us the ottoman was on backorder until the day of delivery and the items were already dropped off! Don’t even have a date for it yet Desk- we received PART of the desk but were told we’d have to pay another 699 to get the whole desk! After we already ordered and paid for the desk! Mind you, the piece delivered was only an attachment that can’t even be used on its own ... not what we asked for or purchased. Had to argue with store management / corporate to get the actual desk at no cost seeing as how we already paid for it! Bed frame and chair are the only items that came in so far and on time. We were called night before delivery to confirm next day delivery. She said they don’t have a 5 hour window yet but will call in the morning. No one called for the 5 hour window, instead they called to say they were at our house. As I rushed home to meet them, I tried calling them back to let them know and the delivery guys wouldn’t answer, come to find out he’s sitting outside my house on his phone the whole time and just not answering my calls. Management doesn’t do squat for you but apologize and say that’s all they can do. If I would’ve known none of our furniture would be here on time, we would’ve purchased the ones we wanted from rooms Togo and probably not had this trouble! It is such a stress dealing with them and no one has anything correct there!
We bought a bed from this store during a Memorial day sale, we didn't receive it until late August. Over that 3 month span, they had to special order rails and reorder the headboard twice due to it breaking while in the possession of the company that delivers for them. They gave us a $100 gift certificate, but I will never spend another dime with this company again. I highly suggest you think twice before making a purchase here.
My family and I were in the market for a new bed for my oldest daughter as well as a kitchen table. Our saleswoman, Samantha, was very welcoming and provided us with a few suggestions to look at. She wasn’t pushy like some other furniture store sales people are, which we appreciated. Samantha let us wonder around and any questions we had for her were answered. Her knowledge of Ashley products is amazing and she made our visit seamless from start to finish. She even called to give me an update of my order. Also, Mrs. Askew (Customer Care Rep) was so helpful when I came in a couple of weeks later to change my order from pickup to delivery. Overall great experience thanks to these two outstanding ladies.

ASHLEY FURNITURE IS THE WORST EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS I HAVE EVER HAD THE SEVERE DISPLEASURE OF SUFFERING THROUGH WORKING WITH. I wish I could give Ashley less than zero stars. I would never wish dealing with Ashley Furniture on anyone, even someone I hated. I don't even know where to start with how TERRIBLE this USELESS company is. They disgust me. I have never complained before, online or in person, but truly I am REPULSED by Ashley and all of their employees. First I was sent broken coffee tables.. Twice. Fine, that happens, I guess.. They blamed UPS delivery and said it wasn't their fault. But then the day before ASHLEY was supposed to deliver my goods themselves, they called and said they lost my dining set and it wouldn't be arriving. Still, at this point, I was accepting that things happen. Well the DAY OF delivery they call me to tell me they broke my entertainment center, so I was just getting the couch I ordered. Let me break this down. They broke my coffee tables, then the replacements, then they lost my dining set, and then they broke my entertainment center. The couch delivery was more than 45-minutes late but that is the least of m,y worries. I have been ruthlessly bounced around their customer service lines. This is no exaggeration, they have put me on hold for 50 minutes one time, 45 minutes another time, 36 minutes another time, and 20 minutes 2 times in a row where they immediately hung up on me after 20 minutes. I have been promised a refund by multiple people and have not received it. I have been told I would receive a call back about my issues multiple times, and have not received them. Only once did someone follow up with me, but she offered no solution. She simply told me, again, that my entertainment center was broken. Wow, huge help. They have promised me my refund, but refuse to send me a confirmation email. When I finally got through to someone after the 50-minute hold he said he was going to take care of it, then transferred me to someone who wasn't at work, so I got their voicemail and the call disconnected. This is what you can expect from Ashley Furniture. It has truly been a nightmare. There is no way this business should still be open. They are a putrid establishment with what is quite literally the worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. At one point before I was demanding and fighting for a refund on my goods that NEVER GOT DELIVERED, the customer advocate said I could "rent a uhaul and go buy something new, and set it up myself" and that they'd reimburse me for the uhaul. This is not a joke. In paid for professional delivery and installation, and when they could not deliver the majority of my order, they told me I could have the privilege of renting truck, buying more furniture from them, and setting it up myself. God knows I'd never see that reimbursement. It's proving near impossible for me to get my money back on the furniture they never even delivered to me. Stay away. Stay far away. Go to Rooms To Go. I went their today, had AWESOME help, got better quality stuff for the same price, and it's getting delivered on Monday. Where as Ashley lost my stuff, was already taking 3 weeks to deliver it in the first place, and then had NO ETA AT ALL on when I'd get my replacements for what they broke or lost. ASHLEY FURNITURE IS THE WORST EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS I HAVE EVER HAD THE SEVERE DISPLEASURE OF SUFFERING THROUGH WORKING WITH. I legitimately hope they go out of business. Like tomorrow. We shopped here in hopes to keep our monies within the local market. Lesson learned, next time I will purchase from Overstock or Wayfair. The sales associate was great and well worth the one star. That's where it stops, the delivery was scheduled for Monday, never got a call the 6 hour window came and went. Called the scheduler who referred me to the store, the people at the store were very offended that I was upset that the furniture was never delivered. I was apologized to, told I was going to get refunded the delivery fee and get it delivered soon. A week went by nothing. Called the store again, finally got the delivery scheduled on THEIR time, not ours. Very frustrating. Called the store two weeks later, still no delivery credit on my card. Chris, the store manager, said this had never been brought to his attention. Customer service is lacking at best, I was told that since this was a under a $500 purchase it wasn't worth his time essentially. What ever happened to just good customer service regardless?
In all my years of purchasing furniture this has been the worst experience ever. I was paying on a bed set only to find out it was discontinued after I gave them my money. I found another set I wasn't totally satisfied with it but so much time was wasted it had to do. The ladies couldn't transfer my money so I had to come back another day, more time wasted. When I came back that Monday it took them an additional hour in a half to get my papers prepared. Delivery was supposed to be between 7am-11am I got a voicemail later that evening stating the hours changed after I confirmed with them. The delivery men were nice but the drawer on the bed was broken and I found out I needed a box spring for the bed. The first storage bed was bigger with more draw space and did not need the foundation. I now have to wait for my drawers to come due to them being damaged and take more time to price box springs. This process has been mentally draining I will not be purchasing furniture from them again.w

I spoke with a sales representative by the name of Christine over the phone who told me that after my delivery I should call so that they could refund me at least the delivery price for all of the inconvenience so today I’m trying to call the office and the phone is off the hook I will be trying again very shortly or I will be making a drive up there in person so that I can get a refund for all the inconvenience of having to leave my job in our early to get home drive a half hour across town to meet the guys to deliver the furniture on a different day than what was scheduled if you’re going to use a third-party service you have to take responsibility For having a way to inform the customer that the persons are going to be late and act quickly so that customers are not nervous about what they spent their hard Earned money for

Ms Mississippi was wonderful! Greeted us at the door and asked what we were looking for, pointed us in the right direction and told us about all the sales and discounts that day so we ended up getting a sofa and finally getting the mattress we’ve been wanting and Mississippi wasn’t a pushy sales person at all! We loved her honesty. She made sure we walked out satisfied, made sure we got our free pillows and worked with my work schedule to make sure our furniture got delivered on a day I was off! Absolutely recommend her! 10/10!!
We purchased a King Panel Bed on 25 May 2019. It was to be delivered to the Newport News store on Wed 29th, so we could pick it up. We called to check, it was still in Va Beach, to be delivered to NN store on Thurs 30th. We called Thurs afternoon as we STILL had not heard anything. We were told it had not been brought over. So we had it scheduled to be delivered to the house on 04 Jun..The delivery men were good and even took pictures of a few places that require touch-up stain. We were told that someone from ASHLEY would contact us to schedule time/date for them to come out and do the touch-up. On Thurs, 13 Jun, I called the delivery number and was forwarded to ASHLEY, where I left a message at 0945. Today is Fri 14 Jun and we have STILL not received a call back. VERY Poor Customer Service.

My husband and I bought a couch from here. We had a bad experience with multiple employees being rude to us. We complained to the manager Robin, who was very nice, and she said she was going to refund us our $86 delivery fee for the inconvenience. However we never got the money back. We called to check on it and never got through to her personally. This was a month ago. I left a bad review on here and my husband got a call the next day. They refunded us the delivery fee and taxes, which was $180+. They also said they are mailing us a gift card. Our couch is perfect and Ashley has great furniture. Hopefully they work on their employees customer service. We are happy with how they handled things after the review, just wish that it didn’t have to even get to that point.
UPDATE: I HAD left a good review a year ago, but now it's a different story. After walking in and looking for end tables and night stands, i found out that you can't find a simple small square table of any kind for under $200. That in of itself is ridiculous, but then i walked around that store for over 20 minutes struggling to find prices on more than half of anything i looked at, and not one sales associate stopped to ask if i needed any help. As i was leaving, i was finally approached. After stating my needs, i was told my product was all over the store, and the associate simply walked away. Horrible prices, horrible customer service. TJMaxx is way better.

Had a very unpleasant experience today at the Ashley Homestore in Newport News, VA. The salesperson, Chonda was extremely rude, very pushy, unpleasant, and overall seemed to only care about making a sale rather than providing great customer service. If we weren't loyal Ashley customers we would have left and made our purchase elsewhere, as there are many options available in our area. I will commend the associates at payment processing, Chela and Katrina, Ms. Andrea Fitzgerald and Christina, the assistant manager. They were the epitome of what anyone should expect when shopping at an Ashley Homestore.

Wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased my sectional. It's been a nightmare for the past month going on two. Never again nor would I ever suggest anyone I know to buy. The delivery people don't quality check to see if the furniture is damaged before bringing it to your home. Their only job is to drop it off for the over priced delivery charge. ****Update: Feb 20, 2019 Ashley Homestore Aka Grand Furniture HAS NOT REPAIRED MY SECTIONAL! I have been back and fourth with their lazy repair people "Furniture Options" Aka Grand Furniture/Ashley Homestore for over TWO MONTHS! At this point I'm furious!!!! They keep playing games with me! Everytime I've called they'll pick up and hang up on me. Have me on hold for long periods of time, never come to the phone and send me straight to Ms.Taylor's voicemail or pass me off to someone else that gives me the run around. I've left messages for Ms.Taylor but she doesn't return calls. She just avoids me by sending letters in the mail. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARN MONEY! You are better off paying the extra money and purchasing from HAYNES FURNITURE OR HAVERTY'S. I wouldnt give them any stars if that was an option. To whom ever your customer relations person is that replied to my review, I don't care about the $100.00 dollar gift certificate that was given to me. It doesn't make up for the stress and the run around that this company has given me for the last TWO MONTHS. That gift certificate can never compensate for any of the poor customer service I've been given.

Since I purchase my furniture 2 years ago , my power on my love seat went out. I have the extended warranty plan, that I purchased for over 200 plus dollars.THEY WILL NOT REPAIR MY FURNITURE. Please if you go to Ashley Home Furniture DO NOT GET THE PROTECTION PLAN, THEY WILL NOT REPAIR YOUR FURNITURE.
Stay away from that store, they delivered defective products, gave wrong information and still asked me to pay 20% to return their defective products. Once they get to your money, they will not even bother return your call or listen to your complaints. I wish there was an option for ZERO stars

If I could give no stars, I would. What I purchased was supposed to be an espresso or dark wood color and the table that was delivered was grey. I called and was told that all items are final sale. The whole process of shopping to purchasing was ridiculous. I will NOT be shopping at Ashely furniture again.

I have been looking for piers which are the shelvings that are on both sides of a entertainment center. The female that was assisting did not seem interested in what my needs where. As if I could not pay for what I wanted. Well business lost! It is sad that you can walk in a store and be judged by the way you look and not given the opportunity to purchase what you want with the hard working money you make. That is terrible. Never the less! I went to Grand, Hanyes and Value City Funiture the exact same day and recieve awesome service and actually made 2 purchases paid for in full and not financed! So thank you for not wanting my service and money because I recieved better elsewhere .
I really enjoyed visiting this store. They greeted me quickly, then allowed me to look around without pressure -- an A+ in my book. I didn't purchase today but will suggest this as a potential location.

This has been the WORST furniture buying experience I have ever had. To start I purchased a loveseat, accent chair, two end tables and a dining room table with 4 chairs on 12 November. I paid cash for everything. I was told I would get a call to set up a delivery date as not everything was in stock at the warehouse. I set up the first delivery date and had my mom drive up 6 hours so that she can be here to accept it on my behalf because they won't give you a specific time that they will be there. They do not deliver on weekends and apparently only deliver to Williamsburg on Mondays and Thursdays. When the delivery team arrived the first day they were bringing in the items and many of them were damaged. The table had paint spots on it (when it was not supposed to) and all but one chair was very wobbly because the legs were not even. The end tables had scratches all over them and the bottom of the loveseat had holes in the bottom as well as the arm was messed up. The drivers insisted to my mom that I accept the items because it would be faster to get them fixed in home since I had the extra coverage. When she said that I would not accept the items they then told her that they have a lot of items on the truck and if I didn't want there to be any damages or scratches then I would need to just go to the warehouse and pick it up myself. This is all very unacceptable. The only item that was in great shape and good quality was the accent chair. My mom took pictures and I quickly went to Ashley Furniture and spoke with Cassandra. She was very kind, put in all kinds of notes to my account and assured me they would be calling to make another delivery. She gave me her card in case there were any issues. Two weeks later the drivers arrive at my house in a Budget truck. The two gentlemen walk in and bring the end tables first. It is raining out so they are trying to move quickly. As they unwrap the end tables I notice they they are damaged. As they unwrap the chairs I quickly check them to see if they are even or uneven. The chairs were horrible. Worse than the last time. One chair was so uneven your thumb could be placed between the leg and the floor. I tell the guys that there is not a point in them putting together the table because I won't be accept the chairs. I couldn't call Cassandra because the store did not open till 10 am. So at 10 I called and was told she would not be back in office until Saturday. I asked to speak to another manager and got a voicemail and nobody returned the call. Our sales lady called and I explained I just wanted my money back. She informed me it would be best for me not to speak to any other managers because Cassandra was already working my order. She also said they usually charge a 10% fee for cancellation so that is why I should talk with Cassandra. I called Cassandra today, Saturday, who first asked if I wanted another table/chairs and end table to be delivered. When I told her no that I just wanted a refund she informed me that she couldn't do anything until she talked with corporate which would more than likely be later Wednesday after Christmas!!!! I do not understand why the assistant manager/manager does not have the ability to refund someone their money when they have received less than quality furniture and service to their home 2 times in 40 days. Cassandra has been nice to deal with. I'll be back to update you on what happens. In the meantime BUYER BEWARE! I used to think Ashley furniture was one of the top sellers of furniture but after this, I will never EVER purchase from this store nor any other Ashley store again.

Never again will I purchase from Ashley's furniture. I purchased furniture and was told a delivery date. Got a call the following week stating it was in. Got to the store my furniture was not there. Finally got my furniture got it home and it was damaged and the foam wouldn't come off. Mind you they instructed me to drive into the area where semis off load so imagine trying to get your furniture from a garage door thats way to high. They had to slide it down off and pray I could hold onto it. But I tried to get ahold of the warehouse all day. They are going to give me a replacement. Awesome got an email stating it was in and to pick it up before 5pm. Never stated that I had to go to VA beach especially sense I paid the delivery charge to go to the store. Livid nothing like breaking your son's heart three times because he finally gets a big boy bed. But you can always cancel and lose 20% of what you paid. Good luck to those who purchase furniture here.

Went there today to buy a sofa and they have nice selection.so guy showed us one we like and we decided to buy it. Guy mentioned no interest for financing and we getting 4 pieces for 1075. when we went there to pay total they added $241 for finance fee after $600 down.so they trick us their and tried to get interest in different way.we gave them a chance and paid full amount and came home.then we realize when we checking the bill instead of 4 pieces they bill us for 3 pieces which is part of what we want.that's it i don't like when people play too much game for sale.went their in 3 hours back and cancel the order and got the refund.Never ever going there and people be AWARE they will scam you and please check every single word before you buy any. then found same setup they label for 1779 for 779 on some other website. i was lucky. Buy ashley ...! we done with you ..!
Absolutely love my furniture, but what kind of establishment refuses to bill you? No monthly bill sent in the mail, no option to pay the bill online, no email sent to inform you, if you pay over the phone you will incur a $3 processing fee, but they will call to inform you that your bill is past due on the day that late charges will be applied. What kind of mess is this? A scam to collect extra late fees from customers monthly. Pay them in cash and walk.

Purchased furniture on Labor Day with delivery three weeks later, in order to ensure that old furniture was removed. On delivery date, no furniture arrived. Called store and was told that sale was voided. The salesperson never called me, regarding this purchase, prior to voiding. Spoke with assistant manager on delivery-date who indicated that a follow-up was needed with the store-manager, who would call me; this was at 10am, by 8pm with store closing at 9pm, I had not received a follow-up call. This was my first Ashley Store purchase, and it will be my last. I do want to commend Cassandra S. As the Asst. Manager, she has responded to my concerns and is working to rectify the error.

Great staff! Ask for Daphine if you plan on going through Ashley!!! They price match, but it cost to ship to your home. They have an outstanding show room, but if you look into Coleman furniture they are significantly cheaper and do free in home delivery. I will say I didn't get it from Ashley for this reason because Coleman said Ashley gets all their stuff from them anyways. Just a tip if you want to save money or see how Ashley can compare in store have them price match Coleman. They might of priced matched Colman furniture, but idk about free delivery and in home set up. See for yourself. They didn't have the couch in the show room I seen on Ashley's website anyways before I compared prices with Coleman and went with them.

I only buy my furniture from Ashley's! I bought all my furniture at one in Vermont and am new to the Newport News area. The store here is absolutely beautiful and the employees are very helpful. I spent a lot of time with Andrea at the store and she was very helpful and very personable! I highly recommend buying your furniture from Ashley's!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The woman who helped us out, I forgot her name but she was a black lady with blonde hair, knew exactly what we were looking for and helped us to find the recliner/glider we were picturing. She also made sure we got the best deal, instead of hoping we paid the most for it. The store is very well laid out and the rest of the staff was very warm and welcoming as well. For the quality of the furniture, the prices are great. We honestly expected the prices to be higher when we walked in and saw the layout. We walked in around 6 furniture stores and they had the best deal for what we wanted.

Customer service SUCKS! Delivered a bed set, but was missing the hardware box so they told me they will have to reschedule. They called with a new appointment and NO ONE SHOWED UP! So they rescheduled me again, and no delivery. Still waiting on this issue to be fixed. Managers do nothing to fix the issue. Will not be buying from Ashley's again and will recommend the same to family and friends. This is just ridiculous. People miss days of work and delivery guys never show up. UNPROFESSIONAL!
My daughter and I came in to look at sofas for her new apartment and we found one she really liked. In fact it was such a good deal I got a sofa and love seat as well. Chad who helped us was great. He was very patient and informative and was able to answer all my questions about the warranty and the product lines - this was my first time shopping in Ashley’s. He assisted us in finding what we were looking for explained our options and checked on us to make sure we were ok when we were browsing the rest of the store. Not pushy which is definitely a positive for me. Trina who helped us when we checked out was wonderful. A very nice lady and knows her job very well, I felt very at ease. I will be back to shop again.

Had an excellent experience with Shayla! After that the buck stopped there. Firstly they were not able to deliver all of the furniture on the day that was promised. I would have to wait another entire month for it. No offer of compensation. Then on the day some of my furniture would arrive even it did not because the desk clerk did not correctly spell my street address even though I did it by each L-E-T-T-E-R. So the entire experience with the exception of sales person was horrible. Still no offer of compensation. All they say is we can't do anything for you. Save your money folks.

Chad was VERY helpful. He gave us a very nice greeting when we came in and wasn’t overbearing. If I had not asked him a question about sofas and recliners I wouldn’t have purchased my new set. I would have walked past it (as we did once before) and walked right out of the store. He was very informative. Although he was helping out another couple it didn’t feel like he was taking on too much. He always made sure to come back and check up on us and gave us great customer service. I will definitely be back to talk to him about purchasing a new bedroom set if not that a new bed and mattress.
Chad gave us the freedom to browse the store without pressuring us and was available to answer our questions when we needed him. He helped us match pieces from two different living room sets to find the combination we were looking for. He is very knowledgeable at his job and I would recommend request him the next time we have furniture needs.

I had the greatest experience in this store. From the moment I entered I was greeted by Mississippi and she helped me find exactly what I was looking for. The store manager was also really sweet and stopped and sat on the floor and tied my daughter's shoes, even switched them because they were on the wrong feet. Mississippi was super sweet making sure the sleeper sofa we wanted was in stock and perfect for us. Will definitely come here for future needs.

I suffered a casualty loss of all of essentially of my furniture and needed to replace all of it. I dealt with Mississippi on an almost daily basis for several days identifying, ordering, and arranging delivery of my furniture. During this time I was living in a hotel and without her assistance I would not have been able to move into my new home. She streamlined the process, did not flinch when I made order changes on the fly, and made the entire experience a joy. She is a consummate professional. I cannot recommend Ashley Furniture and Missisippi highly enough. They and she were a joy to work with. I am 100% pleased.
Prices weren't as bad as expected and the store was defiantly well decorated. The sales lady was very helpful and guided us through the whole process and even worked within out tight delivery schedule. Would definitely buy a tv stand from them again and probably a bed set thing, probably not a lamp though they were kinda pricey.

Chad was excellent! He was very polite, and patient with us as we searched for some dining room chairs. The only disappointing part of the visit was we finally reached a decision and chose our chairs ( which by the way seemed to take awhile) then Chad puts all the information into the system to order them and it ends up being the floor model and we can not order them, so we had to go pick other chairs out. Chad was very apologetic and had no idea they were unorderable. Other than that Chad made our experience one of the best!!!

Buying from Ashley Homestore has been a terrible experience. I have called multiple times to complain about not receiving my furniture and wanting to speak with a manager. I continuously get told I will be called back and never receive a call. I plan on telling all my friends and family to never make a purchase from this company.

Walked in thinking I would have good service. Started off so. Long process but finally came to terms with 750 down on a 2825.87 purchase. Went to pay and complete my order price increased to a total over 3000.00. Very nice, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. Not the usual high pressure sales tactics I’ve experienced in other furniture stores. Nice selection of quality furniture at reasonable prices. However, the actual delivery of the furniture we ordered took longer than we had hoped. It seems they don’t keep the furniture in local warehouses, and their logistics system apparently leaves a lot to be desired. Our salesperson, Ryan, was very helpful and followed through repeatedly trying to expedite our delivery. She will be THE reason we would think about returning to Ashley furniture in Newport News. It was her, and not the company that made our buying experience what it was. 5 stars for Ryan and 3 for Ashley.
I was very pleased shopping at the Newport News Ashley Home store today. I regret that I cannot remember the name of the manager (gentleman) that helped me when I walked in with a new account, but no card (it hasn't made it to me yet but I wanted to take advantage of the holiday sales) My sale rep was Andrea Fitzgerald. Andrea, was extremely friendly, and patient. Andrea was comfortable, happy friendly and helpful. She never tired of my questions and made sure I understood everything about my purchase, This was, by far, the best experience I have had in furniture shopping.

I walked in and was happy to not be followed or asked 50 times about what I was looking for. I really appreciated the ability to look around. I was greeted a few times and the promotions were explained. Once I had made a decision on what I wanted to purchase, Mary Johnson assisted me. She was very kind, polite, and professional. I was impressed with everyone’s customer service and the variety in the showroom.
Well, let me start by saying i went into the store looking for two king mattresses specifically that were on sale online. I walked in and approached Chad, he offered to help which i was happy about because I remember seeing the reviews and his name popping up so often! So i show him the mattresses i am looking for and after that, he no longer seems interested but he continues to try and help. He shows me a mattress and says “This is the one you’re looking for in a plush, while you try this one i will look for the firm version” and walks off. He then starts talking to a couple and basically completely writes us off! I was insulted to say the least! I’m not sure if it’s because of the way i was dressed (after a long day of work I’m not going dressed up in business attire to go furniture shopping) Anyway! after patiently waiting for 30 minutes and assuming he was just quickly helping them, he never returned! I was hesitant to ask someone else because i know how they work off commission but by this time i was so ticked off I told my friend “The next person that walks past and asks me for help, I’m taking it!” and they did. Shala Johnson, aka Ms.Mississippi. She was not pushy at all and was super informative! She informed me that the two beds i was looking for were NOT available on the floor to see but that she would try her best to help me find my perfect bed. By this point i was discouraged and sure i wasn’t going to find what i wanted in my price range. She made it happen. I found exactly what i was looking for at an even CHEAPER price than what i initially wanted to pay! THANK YOU SO MUCH SHALA! YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR HELP! YOU TURNED MY ALMOST DEPRESSING VISIT INTO AN AMAZING ONE! ASHLEY FURNITURE IS LUCKY TO HAVE YOU!

This store customer service is so poor. Maybe I should have delt with a chad because it seems as though everyone had good customer service with him. The sales person I had was not knowledgeable at all. She sold me a table with four chair at 313.00 and a couple more items. I placed the items on layaway till me and my boyfriend was going back to purchase it. So we went back up there to get it the next day it went up to 1000.00. Remind you I placed it on layaway. Where they do that at? I recommend nobody to shop at grands nor Ashley. I am better off going to Haynes where I have a account at at least I have better customer service.

Chad explained the materials used in the making of the pit group, explained the unique features of the cushions and covers. We walked through the store to look at various models and when we had questions, he was right there to provide answers. He told us about store discount that we were eligible for. We also took a sleep test with Chad. Great customer service!

Unfortunate. You can't take delivery from the store. You have to have all furniture delivered to your house for a $200+ delivery charge. Furniture was nice and affordable before this charge.
My husband and I just left the store and we had a wonderful sales woman named Shala, AKA "Mississippi." We just purchased 2 sectional sofa sets, a dining room set and a kitchen set. She was a terrific help, very pleasant, kind and honest. I'd never shopped at Ashley Furniture but we are so happy we went there. It's ok, but the sales people overstate the quality of the furniture in my opinion. I have gotten several things there, and none are going to last more than a few moves, but the price is decent for what it is.

We visited Ashley furniture at least 5 times while we were trying to decide on furniture for our new home. Chad was pleasant and willing to help us each and every time we visited. We had a fantastic experience at Ashley furniture today. We were greeted at the door by Shala (Miss Mississippi) and she aloud us to browse the store and did not hover. She was very polite and friendly to both my husband and myself. Shala was available for questions, gave us ample time to make our decision and was very knowledgeable. The best part was, after we made our decision, she came back with an 'out the door' price that was lower than what we anticipated AND was actually an honest/fair price.
Went by Ashley Furniture in Newport News to look for a pillow for my wife. Our salesperson was Chad. He was extremely knowledgeable, polite, & patient. We settled on a new mattress. How we got from a pillow to a mattress, pillows, pillow covers and a mattress cover is puzzling, other than we really need a new mattress. I won't go into all the details but we got home and decided to hold off on the mattress deal. It got a little complicated. After several conversations with Chad and people in management, we got things worked out exactly how we needed them to be. I was very impressed with how things were handled. We will absolutely go back to Ashley Furniture and see Chad when we decide to go forward on the mattress purchase and any other of our furniture needs. I've been in sales most of my life and I know how frustrating it can be working for commission and having a sale sort of unravel and usually someone gets upset. Not the case here. Great job Chad and staff at Ashley Furniture in Newport News VA.

ASHLEY store is BIG time FRAUD! I had worse experience with them! If you cancel your order way in advance they will still penalize you with 20% cancellation fee( they won't inform the customer about this policy but it's written in one of the paper they make you sign without reading).. when I raise this issue with manager, gave my input that they need to verbalize this policy to all customer( so that we can make right decision) , she seems totally uninterested! I won't recommend this store to anyone!!
A lot of furniture but still costly
I got a GREAT deal on a memory foam mattress. Salesperson Ginger was a huge help and Carlos Taliferro helped with making it a good deal. Very nice store and friendly, patient staff made this a pleasurable experience.
Staff tried pressure selling hardcore for a sale of a mattress I told them I wasn't even interested in. They followed me around the store trying to get me to buy everything I stayed to look at. I understand trying to help out, but sometimes following people is just too much. I took my business elsewhere and found similar products at better prices from nicer staffs. Wouldn't recommend solely on the customer service.
There customer service was horrible. I had to call back to see when my furnature that I purchased would be ready for pick up. They do not care at all about the customer once they get their money from you. I got a chair and it was damaged too cheap to come deliver a new one. I had to exchange the damaged one for the new one. I had to again call to see when the new chair was ready for pickup, and when I received the new chair it was damaged too. I just have to live with damaged furnature now because it's not worth goin through all that trouble again to get a third chair. I will never do business with them again and I will make sure that everyone I know won't either. I wish there was something lower than one star. A horrible experience!
Beautiful furniture..
First off I have to admit their furniture is great. The service you receive is great...while you are buying. Your salesperson has no interest in fixing issues after the sale is final. I do not receive returned phone calls nor do they pick up the phone. I would highly recommend using the store as a viewing to find what you want and order from the online store. This store does not match what the online store offers. I think each branch does their own thing since the Richmond store will match online. If the online says a couch comes with pillows, good luck getting the Newport News store to offer the same in the store. My furniture shipment was supposed to come all at once like discussed, it came in two separate shipments. I was told twice all my furniture was to be delivered at once and when that day came only half was delivered. I called the store and they had to reschedule. The next day I called to have the date moved earlier and when that date came close, I called the delivery company and was told Ashley never requested the date changed...well thanks again. I'm just glad I finally received my furniture and don't have to deal with that store anymore.
My Husband likes his recliner very much, we bought a five year warranty with it and I can't get anyone to send me the paperwork so I would know who to contact if I needed something fixed on it.
I can't even begin to describe how much I HATE THIS STORE. The sales staff extremely incompetent. The shipping of the furniture the same. It makes no sense as to why it took almost a month of us to receive our furniture and we will do not have it all. My daughters white bed set arrived extremely dirty. The manager is a complete joke. They could not even pay me to return to that store, literally. I refuse to ever shop there again. Value city has better customer service and shipping lead times compared to this joke of a store.

I love Ashley furniture I thing they have best furniture in Hampton road area the quality and the design is amazing . The problem is the employees who work in this store in Newport News are extremely nasty and rude specially the billing department they are nasty . I personally know the manager of this store is hard working man and awesome Manager but the problem is HIRING looser sellers and rude costumers service staff . Newport News location is bad visit others location .
Beautiful store! Friendly staff. They worked diligently trying to find us a quick set of living room furniture for the holidays, even checking stock at other stores. Unfortunately we were too late and our item is on order. Even if you don't buy from them, it's a nice place to go to get decorative ideas. The prices are what you would pay at any nice furniture stores. If you can grab the sales, then do so.
Our salesperson was very helpful in order to make a sale, but other than that, our experience was AWFUL. We put couches and a chair on layaway because we were waiting until we moved to get them. Once we finally paid the couches off, it was a nightmare! Once they were paid, they said it would be a week until we could get the couches, once a week rolled by, we called to confirm and they said that they would not actually be here 10-14 business days after they were paid off. So that postponed us by about two weeks. We agreed when purchasing the couches that we would pick them up at the store but when we called to confirm after the business days, we were told we had to drive an hour out of our way to pick them up from the warehouse. When we reminded them of what we originally agreed upon, they made excuses but eventually agreed, saying that they don't usually permit people to pick-up at the actual store. Once we finally went to pick up the furniture, there were signs posted around the exterior of the store that suggested that in-store pick-ups were allowed and very common. Call after to make sure you know what all is going on if you do buy here. The store was nice and so are our new couches, but after we agreed to purchase, it was a disaster!
The people at the store are very helpful to your face. We were promised delivery in 10 days. Almost one month later the wrong furniture was delivered. The chase lounge came on the wrong side and the ottoman didn't even match the couch that was purchased. We called the store and was told the manager would call us back. She called back and refunded our delivery fee and "promised" the right one would be delivered in "10" days. She admitted her salesman put the order in wrong over the phone. We will see if it gets delivered in "10" days but we are not hopeful, seeing how empty promises were made the first time. We are a military family and lived in a hotel for 2 months waiting to move into a house. This was the last piece to finish our move and complete our house. Thank you Ashley Furniture for delaying this and making this move never ending. I would not shop there again and would definitely not recommend shopping there. I know there are plenty of bad reviews on this place...listen to them unless you want a major hassle. If I could, I would give them zero stars.
