Leading up to my visit at Ashley Furniture in RVA on Laburnum Ave, I was a ball of stress desperately searching for decent furniture to fill my newly rented apartment. After looking on FB marketplace and tirelessly messaging strangers, I decided to bite the bullet and try a different (and slightly more expensive) route. Let me tell y’all something… it was sooo worth it. I walked in the front doors with zero experience purchasing furniture at a retail store, and Dakota (the GM) came up to me with a smile on his face and led the way. I felt like an a-hole because I showed up an hour and fifteen minutes before closing, but that didn’t even seem to phase them. I knew I was in good hands, I could feel it. Not only was Dakota informative about the products I was looking for but also interactive and honest with his presentation. I needed a second opinion after seeing so many options, and they were there to help with that too. It was a very pleasant experience and I could literally feel the weight being lifted off of my shoulders. Then the “jitters” came back to haunt me MUAHAHAHA. I thought “oh sh*t what is the bill about to look like”… which to my surprise was very reasonable & affordable. I left the store feeling accomplished with a beautiful 2 piece sectional, a mattress sent straight from heaven, frame & headboard all being delivered to my new place. The service here is top notch and I highly recommend visiting this store if you are having the feng shui jitters or just want to treat yourself with some nice new things! Thanks Dakota and Christy!

Husband and I went shopping for a sofa and 2 recliners. We walked in. Employees standing around. No one spoke to us or offered to help. We walked around, looked at EVERYTHING and walked out 45 minutes later. No one even acknowledged our presence much less offered to help. I went to Ashley Furniture on Laburnum and Cordea was both helpful and patient with me because I knew I needed an upgrade in my home decor but I was being very picky about design and color scheme. Not only did Cordea make great furniture suggestions I normally would not have thought of, but he also helped keep my purchase under my price point. What I loved is that he was professional, personable, and when I had a question he needed clarification on, his manager, Pamela, was able to assist. I love how well she leads her team and their sincerity in helping all of the customers, even though a few of us may have been there a while. Andre provided Excellent Customer Service! My wife and I arrived at the store 15 minutes before the store closed in search of an electric fireplace with an insert. Andre asked his coworkers to help him search the store and within a couple of minutes located the last one on the showroom floor. He recommended that we inspect it to ensure that there was no damage and upon doing so and finding it in good condition, we proceeded to write up the sales order. He recommended that we order a new/replacement insert to ensure that it was in working condition. He was prompt in writing everything up and communicating with his manager in processing the sales order. He then coordinated a good pickup time and provided his telephone number so that we could call him to confirm when the insert arrived at the store, so that we would be able to pick everything up at one time and save the delivery fee. I gave a three-star rating only because I feel like Ashley Furniture could do a better job getting furniture out to its customers quicker. In most stores, even mom and pop furniture stores Ashley is one of the most popular furnitures sold. It's almost like we don't have a choice. I have no complaints about the furniture itself. I've been very satisfied with everything I've ever gotten from them. But they have a very bad habit of making you think your furniture will be delivered within a couple of weeks and sometimes it's more than a month later when it finally arrives. This has happened to me every single time I have ordered furniture. As large of a dealer that they are it seems like they could do a better job with customer service.

We ordered a sofa with the chaise on the opposite side of the showroom sofa and were very clear. The salesperson ordered the exact showroom configuration instead and Ashley Furniture has been less than forthcoming on fixing it. The salesperson is no longer there. I keep getting emails over and over about submitting photos which I did immediately the first time. I feel like by sending emails labeled in all caps 2ND PHOTO REQUEST, they are making me out like I'm not cooperating. I've sent the photos AGAIN with the explanation. I'm not sure what I have to do to fix this. We are not using the sofa as we have not moved into the home yet and would gladly let them come pick it up.

Delivery was set for a Tuesday. After calling several times and finally speaking to a person they said it may arrive Thursday. They would let me know 24 hours prior. If you have a job I do not recommend buying from this place they won’t even send you an email with their estimate of arrival.

My purchase went very smoothly at the store and IN STORE service was 10/10, I love my new couch. My only issue was with delivery. The delivery men damaged my wall and Ashley home furniture did not respond to any of my 5 emails regarding this issue. Just know when getting a home delivery Ashley will not reimburse any damages made to your home and will ignore you.

I went to Ashley Furniture on Laburnum with my Mom to look at reclining chairs with automatic lift ability. Our salesman was new however, very helpful and friendly without being pushy. My Mom was prepared to purchase the recliner however the delivery charge was well over $200. We stated we’d rather pick it up ourselves and asked how long it would be before it would arrive at the Laburnum store. After checking with another salesperson he returned and told us that anything over 50 lbs does not get shipped to the store…we would have to drive to Fredericksburg to pick up our order! Despite our great salesman, he did not make the sale due to the company’s poor delivery options. Ashley Furniture does not provide a reasonable alternative for the consumer to get the furniture to their home unless the purchaser is willing to pay a high delivery fee or make the drive to Fredericksburg (neither of which is reasonable). Coincidentally, we found the same chair on Amazon for nearly $200 less and we have Prime…so free delivery. Do your homework folks…don’t be taken advantage of by greedy corporations.

A very pleasant shopping experience where we purchased 5 figures worth of furniture during a President's Day sale was followed by unresolved disaster on execution. When the furniture was delivered unassembled, the boxes were carefully counted, and the line drawn models shown on the box were verified as correct. Everything was put into storage for a couple of months in NC. When we moved and unboxed our purchases, we discovered that the Ashley store manager had ordered us 10 chairs (accurate amount) at regular height, to go with our dining room table that we specified all to be at the counter height. The boxes when delivered did not specify the difference, and we accepted them. The store manager's invoice was reviewed, and again, the correct # and models were shown, but no one caught she ordered regular height chairs to go with a counter height table. The chairs were unusable and 300 miles away from where they were purchased. Multiple calls to the store went un-returned. Ashley's central customer service team sadly explained that only the store could take action on the matter, and they sent an email to the store's management asking them to contact us, which resulted in no calls. They went completely silent. Due to the store manager's error, we were forced to buy $1300 of new chairs to match our dining room table from another Ashley store who delivered them assembled. We donated the original, brand new chairs to Habitat's ReStore. Buying from Ashley Furniture on S. Laburnum in Richmond is a very costly mistake we will never make again.

Walked into Ashley Furniture on Laburnum on a whim and left with EVERYTHING we needed! The store manager, Stella, greeted us immediately and provided exactly the right amount of care and concern: available without hovering, and informative without overloading us with unnecessary information. We spent probably two hours here and Stella’s energy remained high, both professional and approachable. The quality of the furniture is very good, the warranty extremely comprehensive, and the prices are terrific. We appreciate the support!

Moved into a new apartment in December. ALL of my furniture came from Ashley's (kitchen set, living room furniture and end tables). Andre at the local store on Laburnum Avenue wad a BIG help. He didn't rush nor haggle me to make a purchase. All questions asked was answered, AND when I made my final purchase of my living room sofa and loves eat (Gleaston btw) he answered the same questions I had asked previously. Ashley's furniture AND prices are very fair and reasonable compared to other furniture stores. And currently they have free delivery in honor of opening a new store in Virginia.

I purchased a sectional with the ottoman 4 months ago, because the ottoman was not delivered as promise I told the store that I longer wanted to purchase it. I was told that the ottoman was removed from my bill several times. The delivery company had contacted me several times to deliver the ottoman and I was telling them that they should contact the store. The finance company sent me a bill with the ottoman included so I contacted them and explain to them that the ottoman was not purchase and they should take the ottoman off my bill. They told me that an investigation would be done. I received a letter from them stated that Ashley does not have any information pertaining to me not receiving an ottoman and I still had to pay. I have called Ashley customer care for the past week and I have been told we will get back to you or place on hold for hours. Please have someone contact me.

I will say that the music in the store was entirely too loud. It was hard to hear each other and concentrate. But otherwise our experience was great.

The buying process is joke it took 5 people to write it up and it was still wrong. I was there 2 hours finally got everything straight. They couldn't plan a 5 year olds birthday party. Arrogant attitude and unclear on new pricing changes. Misleading and confusing discounts even among sales crewe.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. BUYER BEWARE! I ordered Earhart couch and loveseat from Ashley online. Loveseat has missing T-nut and is leaning 7 months from purchase and 6 months from delivery date. They want me to pay them $75. to send a technician out to repair a defective piece of furniture. Please know you could be missing inside parts and if you know it within 6 months they want to charge you to fix their defective furniture they sold and delivered to you. I have a broken leaning piece of furniture 6 months after I received it, and they want me to pay them to fix their mistake.

We ordered our items on Sunday and was told that because the warehouse was closed Tuesday someone would call me Wednesday to schedule deliver for today the 14th. Well nobody called and when I called this morning the young lady advised that there was a delay on my items and NOW they won’t be there until tomorrow in which that will put our delivery into next week. Thank goodness we didn’t throw our daughter’s mattress and bed away like we had planned on. If I thought I could go somewhere else and get my items today I would. There was no offer to take money off or anything, I just have to hope and pray that they call tomorrow I guess.

So I wanted to post a follow up review with how terrible this company is with handling customer service complaints (lack of follow up). Ever since I posted my original review I never heard a word back. I even sent an email to contactus@ashleynva.com and nothing. It's very disappointing to spend a lot of money and feel that they do not care when there are issues and they will not do anything to rectify the issue. I will never shop here again and I will not recommend to anyone to shop here unless they feel like being ignored.

Poor customer service. Representative didn't show willingness to assist. Kept passing me off to next person. Furniture delivered missing parts and still giving me the run around about getting them. Called multiple time place on hold for over 30 minutes and transferred without being informed called back and CSR hung up on me drive to the store to speak to someone in person and CSR Tammy was very unpleasant and didn't care to resolve any issue didn't even care to listen. I asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would be with me shortly it's been 30 minutes already. How fair is that when I'm the customer what if it was them in my shoes and they were treated in a disgusting manner. And don't care if I have to sleep on the floor or not.

After weeks of trying to find the perfect couch for my new apartment, with no luck, Darius was able to help me find not only the perfect couch but also a much needed bed frame as well. He was extremely helpful and made my experience very smooth!

Unresponsive customer service. Very poor “white glove” delivery. My brand new couch and it’s cushions were put on my wet lawn. The couch was banged against the walls and they brought the wrong pieces. You have to go in store to get any response to complaints. Once you go in the store they tell you to call customer service. Not worth the money in my opinion.

This Ashley location truly values the customers time, as well as needs. We throughly enjoyed working with Jshuane. He took the time to make sure we chose the right mattress and pillows. Me and my Wife went to buy a bed from Ashley Furniture on Laburnum in Richmond Va and we explained to the salesman that were buying a mattress and boxspring for her apartment could we get it delivered to our house and he said that is fine. We purchased it on 8/23 .We told the salesman she doesn't move in until 9/23 and he said that was fine. Well we received the bed in a box,so it had to expand for 24 to 48 hours. We let it expand for 36 hours, It was a 12 inch bed but only expanded to 10 inches by the third day. We call the week of the 21of September and first told its only 2 inches. We proceeded to email a case manager. Sent pictures. Later was told the warranty was voided because we moved it from one house to another. This cost us 1000 dollars total. Never will do business with them

I worked hard to save for a quality bed and purchased the brand Porter for it's quality. After delivery May 2, 2023 of both the Ashley bed and mattress which was dropped on the planks and damaged them but further discovery was made that the bed rails were even. Meaning the mattress and frame will never position correctly. I opened up claims, an investigator came out, a. crew came but never replaced the defective equipment to root cause and solve the problem. I exhausting 50 days trying to escalate, send photos, drove to the Ashley laburnum store and showed photo proof to the store manager Cody Fitzpatrick. Ashley CSR team showed no integrity and dishonored me as a long term customer. Defaulted on their own contract which stated they will replace damage goods: bed plank, bed rails or new bed as a whole. On day 50 terribly distressed by this unwelcome experience I opened a dispute on June 16, 2023 with TD Financial,, Ashley lending broker following 90 days period of waiting to present my proof to the assigned investigator I was informed by phone. on or about September 18, 2023 the investigator sided with Ashley and I pending the official written letter in the mail. T.D. Finance investigation represented a loop system bias to Ashley Furniture. Never once was I contacted by the investigator and never once was I able to show that I provided above and beyond proof of photos. Ashley Furniture drop the ball in my specific case. Bottomlline is Ashley Furniture sold me a bed exceeding $1000 dollars damaged and breached their own internal contract clause to replace damage goods. The Trust Honor Integrity Ashley Furniture I once shared it now broken The Porter furniture brand of quality products first impression is now broken. Overall Trust is brokenShame on Ashley Furniture for Fraud & Abuse.

Well first I called to find the location and I spoke to Greg, then when I got half way I called back and spoke to a pleasant Lady and she told me the name of the shopping Center and I knew right away where they were. Talk about the most patient & helpful Sales Associate, Jshuane is the name! We are shopping for my parent in law’s furniture for their new house so we do need one for every room. We visited Ashley Furniture in Laburnum and met a very awesome team. From the store manager- Pam, assistant manager- Stella & Jshuane our Sales Associate who assisted us and showed us different options they have in the store without the feeling of “selling” us something. He made us feel that he truly care. It took us couple of trips back to the store to make sure we choose what we really wanted & Jshuane has been very patient through out the process. In the end, we decided what we wanted to purchase & Jshuane took his time to make sure we are getting a very good deal on our purchase. We are very pleased with the excellent customer service that Jshuane and his team had provided for us!
