UPDATE: the owner response below for customer care - this company is called "Serveco" and they have a 3.2 star review - complaints everywhere for the very reason I noted below. THEY ARE WORTHLESS. Why won't the owner simply ask to contact them directly? That would be the response that demonstrated an appreciation for the business. Instead, I'm handed off. If there aren't any problems, then it's a good experience. As soon as there is an issue, you get ZERO support. We bought over $7,000 worth of furniture including a Sealy adjustable base. We have had issues with the base 45 days into the purchase (12/16/26). WE CANNOT SLEEP ON THE BED due to creaking noises with the slightest movement. Sealy has been awful; Ashley won't help and here we are March 4, 2026 - nadda. DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY. YOU WILL GET NO SUPPORT.

We felt rushed through the buying process, and when the items got delivered half of them were wrong. The whole process they have of writing your order by hand and showing you their item numbers makes no sense. I explained exactly what I wanted but didn't feel like Chris listened to me, which was evident because the wrong items arrived at our home. The delivery drivers also complained and didn't want to take the wrong couch out of the house. When my husband called Chris to clarify, it was like he was blaming us. How could it be our fault when he was the one writing down the wrong items!? I won't be shopping here again.

We bought two dressers from Ashely and one with defect on delivery. Followed their process asking by having technician coming back to check and they only offer paint over the defect and claim this is fixable. And there is no option to replace a new one any more?? The sales in this store are great but their logistic and customer service process is terrible, and it is controlled by third party. You have to beg there is no defect on the furniture otherwise it is a long process fighting with them. Two months already and no good solution yet. Edit: phone number in the response is the one I have been calling for two month. It is pointing to Ashley Furniture Warehouse in Fredericksburg. Have reported to Best Business Bureau to deal with this.

Just visited Ashley Furniture on W Broad St in Richmond. Very good experience. Rickie was really helpful in our search for chairs. Very knowledgeable, courteous & pleasant. Katrinka, too, was most helpful & courteous in making sure items & prices of our purchases were all correct. Based on our experience, we would certainly recommend considering Ashley Furniture for any furniture purchases.

Furniture arrived damaged in two places. I called the customer service many times and sent the same photos three times, but Ashley still refused to replace it. A technician came to visit and he confirmed it could not be repaired, yet they only sent a replacement drawer and ignored the surface damage. Very disappointing experience. Timothy was great to work with at Ashley Furniture. I went in on 3 different occasions just to test out recliners and he greeted me each time. He was zero pressure but answered all of our questions. He even helped with questions over text. We ended up purchasing an entire family room set from him.

My wife and I were recently shopping for a new sofa and, after visiting several stores, decided to stop at the Ashley Furniture location on Broad Street. We have purchased multiple pieces from this store in the past and felt confident doing business there again. Because we have a large family, we needed a sectional and believed we found the perfect one. The salesperson, Phil, was attentive and answered our questions (or sought help when needed). After selecting the sectional, we discussed several important details before completing the purchase. One key factor in our decision was the protection plan. Given that the sofa is light-colored and we have several children, we specifically asked about cleaning coverage. Phil told us the plan included having a company come out to clean the sofa "once a month" if needed. Based on that explanation, we felt comfortable purchasing the plan for $300. We also discussed the option of purchasing an additional piece to make the sectional larger. Phil told us that even if the sale had ended, we would be able to purchase the additional piece at the sale price because we were in the store before the sale ended. The total purchase came to approximately $3,000 ($2,700 for the sofa and $300 for the protection plan). Unfortunately, since the purchase, several issues have arisen: 1. Two days after the sale ended, I called the store and spoke with Phil about purchasing the additional piece. He initially gave me a price, but when I reminded him of our prior conversation, he said the store could not honor the sale price because it was not in writing. This directly contradicted what we were told in-store when we made the purchase. 2. When the sofa later needed cleaning, I called the store to schedule a cleaning. The employee I spoke with, Tamara, was dismissive and unhelpful, and made no effort to resolve the issue. I eventually located another number on my own and was surprised to learn that the protection plan does not include cleanings at all. Instead, I was required to file a claim to see if the issue might be covered. After several days, I was informed that my claim was approved and that a cleaning kit would be sent to me so I could clean the sofa myself. I paid $300 for a protection plan believing it included professional cleanings, not a do-it-yourself kit. This entire experience feels like a bait-and-switch. We relied on the information provided by your salesperson when making a significant purchase, and that information turned out to be inaccurate. This will be the last piece of furniture we ever purchase from Ashley Furniture. We will also strongly discourage our family, friends, and others from shopping here. We feel misled from the beginning, and it is difficult not to conclude that customer satisfaction takes a back seat to sales goals and profit.

DJ was great but the delivery experience outweighs the good. Given a delivery window between 1-4 pm, once that time passed we called the store and they were not much help. We were told that the delivery window was a courtesy and not a guarantee and that they were at least an hour and half behind schedule. We asked if there was any way of knowing if the delivery would still happen today and they said there was nothing they could do but we needed to remain home until at least 7 pm in hopes they would be delivering. Mind you it’s Christmas Eve so we had to completely cancel plans made for the evening. When I asked if we could reschedule the delivery we were told no because our things were on the truck. We were given no notice of any sort of delay and there was no communication between the delivery team. For the price of the delivery we at least expected some sort of communication. Completely ridiculous. Will not be coming back to Ashley Furniture for this reason.

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the dresser I purchased from Ashley. After just about a year of light use (literally opening the drawers once or twice a week), the drawer gliders started breaking one after another. This is clearly a quality issue, yet Ashley’s customer care refuses to acknowledge it. Instead, they asked me to pay $30 per glide, which adds up to around $120—just to fix something that should never have failed this quickly. What makes it worse is how adamant and unhelpful their customer service is. They completely dismissed the quality problem and showed no intention of standing behind their product. Meanwhile, furniture I’ve bought from other stores, used far more frequently and much more heavily, is still holding up perfectly. This experience has been extremely frustrating and feels like a complete waste of money. I will not be purchasing from Ashley again, and I strongly recommend others think twice before buying their furniture.

I had the most delightful experience with Pam Brewer. I placed an order online for two pieces of living room furniture. The website said I would get my furniture in 2-3 weeks. When I called to ask a question about the delivery process I was told that my furniture was expected on December 23 and once received they would call to schedule delivery within 2-3 weeks! So I cancelled my order and felt misled. I decided to call my local store for suggestions of other furniture to explore. That is when I encountered Pam! I explained. SHE LISTENED! She sprang into action and got the original pieces I wanted delivered to me within days! DAYS! Her knowledge, her concern and the caring kindness I received from her buoyed my spirits and made me a devoted Ashley customer. I called the store before I came and was told they have a room where they have items for lower price. I get to the store and looked around, and asked about it and was told they do not. I wasted my time because I was going to order online but changed my mind when I was informed about the lower priced items.

Overall satisfied with my experience buying a recliner. Staff were friendly & helpful with an erroneous billing at the store-it was taken care of quickly. Seemed they were having a staffing crisis that day as I dealt with the store manager instead of a sales person. I was given the wrong delivery time at the store-was told between 8am & 11am, however I received a confirmation email & phone call from the delivery service it would be from 1pm-4pm. Delivery men gave me a courtesy call when they were about 15 minutes away which was very helpful & I was able to meet them at the elevator & guide them to my apartment. I would recommend this store 👍🏻

Very disappointed. I just purchased 2 sofas that were delivered yesterday 10/30/25 and realized the price went down for both $500. They do not offer price adjustment once the furniture is in your home which is ridiculous. Literally just got delivered yesterday. Very disappointed.

I would NEVER buy furniture here again. We orders two bed sets from here. When we purchased the set, we were very clear with the sales rep that we needed the furniture by a certain date. The rep assured us over and over again that we would get our furniture by the day we specified. Delivery day shows up and pieces are missing. I called customer service and all they would tell me is that they didn't know what happened to the missing pieces. We found out a few days latter (after several unproductive calls with Ashley's customer service) that the rep lied and the pieces were on back order and would not be delivered for months. Be warned, these sales reps will lie through their teeth to make a sale. Do not trust anything they tell you!

No one should have to go through this it's totally ridiculous. Note: it was delivered broken.

I went to Ashley Furniture a couple of weeks ago and was met by Caroline. I absolutely adore her!! She wasn't pushy and she didn't rush me. I was looking for a small sofa to fit in my new apt. After lookin at a few different sofas I wasn't in love with anything, until she showed me the Snodoodle. The minute I sat down I was completely in love and had to have it. We ordered the 2 piece loveseat and the ottoman. Got delivery today 9/27/25. The delivery team was amazing!! It wasn't easy gettin it through all the doors and into the elevator but they managed to get it in without any damage. The assembly was quick and they cleaned up all of the packaging and took it with them. If you go shop in this store make sure you ask for Caroline.

Lots of good reviews because Timothy asks before finishing the job. But after that, he doesn’t keep promises.

Be careful. Timothy says one thing before the sale and do another after.

This store is one of the “not good” stores. Bottom line they will gladly sell to you BUT after the sell they do not care. I lived through lousy customer service and waited a period of time before I delivered this review. Ashley Corporate stores in my area of Arizona are the opposite and 5 stars all the way. That was the only reason I went to the one in Richmond. Never again. Next purchase I went to Haverty’s and completely different and excellent experience pre and post sale!

DJ is the boss! He was not only observation and understanding on we wanted, he made it very reasonable too. The start was rocky as the other staff didn't really give a warm welcome until we got DJ, he apologized for the staff and made up for the start. I will recommend for anyone who goes to this location to ALWAYS ask for DJ if his available. He is overall amazing and enjoyable.

We have had the absolute worst experience purchasing from Ashley on West Broad and I would never buy from them again. We have had the wrong couch configuration delivered twice and had to send both back. Then finally we thought we were gonna get the right one, waited around all day for delivery (they texted us the day before with an estimated 3 hour delivery window, but it happened to be in the middle of the day) and it never showed. We called them and all customer care could tell us was that “it never got loaded on the delivery truck, so we would need to reschedule”. The next available date is in 5 days. It has been nearly 7 weeks since we purchased our couch and we STILL do not have it, despite 3 scheduled deliveries. We have cancelled and rearranged plans both due to lack of a couch in our living room (we removed our old one in preparation for the first delivery 4 weeks ago) and don’t have anywhere to sit in our living room. Please consider taking your business elsewhere, as I wish I would have.

I had a great experience buying furniture recently, thanks to Timothy. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and really helped me find exactly what I needed. Everything went smoothly, and I’m very happy with the service and quality.

Buying furniture can be a daunting task, but Timothy made this process seamless! He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, attentive, and honest. I appreciated all of his help and guidance during this process.

To start this tale: I went into the store to buy a new sectional, we picked one out and the salesperson put in the order, we verified several times that we wanted right facing chaise, left facing sofa (which was the same configuration as the floor model on display). The store interaction was fine. Nothing good or bad, just fine. Fast forward some time (June 4, 2025) when my sectional gets delivered. It was a delivery drop, I signed for the delivery and proceeded to get the sectional into my house. I unwrap one of the two pieces and realize something was wrong. It was a right facing sofa and not the left facing I purchased. I open the chaise and it's a left facing chaise. It was the correct model and correct color, but the wrong configuration. I was immediately mad and called customer care. After calling customer care and waiting for 30 minutes, I opted for the callback option. I then called the store to see if they could help. Apparently, no one there knows how to answer a phone because out of 4 times calling back to back, only once did someone answer. The conversation was brief as I just said I had my stuff delivered and it's incorrect. The person asked who my salesperson was, I told them who it was, then they put me on hold. 5 minutes later, the line disconnected. I called back and no one answered. Later, I finally got a call back from a customer care rep and we had a whole conversation about how my order was wrong. She said that she was going to start a claim and that I would have to wait until their next shipment comes in on June 12 because they only had one of the pieces to my sectional available. She then said after that happens, they will contact me for re-delivery. I asked what I should do with the current sectional and she told me I can unwrap it and use it for the time being. I waited until June 16 and called customer care. I called Monday at 3pm and their automated system said they were closed and their hours were Mon-Sat 8a-5p. Confusing, but found out later they are closed Monday. Maybe update that. After 3 days of calling and leaving voicemails and never getting callbacks, I finally got ahold of someone. I told the person that I wanted a status update on my ongoing case. I was placed on hold, but once she came back, she informed me that there was no case for me in the system. No case, no nothing. So the first person I talked to, apparently, did absolutely nothing, submitted nothing, and fed me a bunch of nothing. Needless to say, I was irate. This rep I had on the phone got a case created and told me I had to send photos of the furniture for the case and whatnot. I did exactly that. 2 days later, I get a call back from the same person saying they approved my case and we can go ahead with an exchange for the correct sectional. The rep gave me the instructions of going to the store and doing a re-selection. However, she then explained there was going to be a $230 re-delivery fee. I was taken aback and expressed that was quite ridiculous. I was then given the answer of the drivers need to get paid and all this that and the third. I didn't care honestly. I felt it was unfair to have to pay additional money to correct a mistake made by Ashley in the first place. The only options that were presented to me were pay the $230 for re-delivery, pick it up at the warehouse for free which is about 70 miles away from me, or keep what we have and live with it. Ultimately, my wife and I decided to keep what we have even though it's not the configuration we wanted nor paid for. I'd rather deal with an inconvenience in my living room than deal with anything further from Ashley. First they screw up my order, then a customer care rep does absolutely nothing and leaves me hanging completely, then I'm told I have to pay more money to fix the mistake that Ashley made or just live with what we got. I will never do business with Ashley Furniture again. You had one job.

Working with this store has truly been a nightmare to the point I never want to shop with Ashley furniture again! On April 14th I purchased a sofa, recliner and rug through Caroline. It took over an hour for her to put the order in which should have been a red flag. I asked Caroline for an update 4/29 on shipping and she gave me dates that were completely wrong. After waiting 6 weeks, my delivery finally comes and the sofa is the wrong color. Caroline put in the wrong item #. I spoke with Dakota, the manager, about this issue and expressed my frustration as it already took a long time to receive my items just for it to be incorrect. He offered to order the correct color sofa and was able to give me a new delivery date. I also asked for a store credit, which he offered $100. I thought the problem was solved. On June 7, Ashley delivery shows up and the sofa is facing the wrong way. This time, Dakota put in the wrong orientation. I am not scheduled to receive my sofa until June 21st. Making it over 2 months dealing with all the incompetencies of this store. This is absolutely unacceptable customer care. I talked to Ashley about requesting a refund at least on the delivery fee but of course Dakota has not called back regarding this. I have not received an apology from Caroline. This is whole process has been extremely frustrating.

Terrible place doesn't buy from here. My mother-in-law bought furniture for us as a gift at this store and she was very specific about the delivery date since my wife and I are both very busy. They scheduled the delivery date incorrectly. Ricky who was the salesman shifted the blame to someone else. He said he would talk to his manager regarding rescheduling a delivery date and possible discount but never got back to us. When my wife attempted to call him, it appeared as if he had blocked her. TLDR; they only care about making a sale and will ghost you if you give them any "inconvenience" "Sincerely apologize" is not enough. You need to make this right.

My husband and I came in today to purchase recliners and we really had no idea exactly what we wanted, aside from comfort. DJ was was so patient, fun, and intuitive. He helped us pick the perfect pair of recliners (and was understanding when we wanted to change the order at the end because my hubby was indecisive). Save yourself the biggest nightmare you could possibly imagine and do not shop here. I bought 3 items supposed to be delivered in one trip. 3 times I’ve taken off of work and still don’t have all my stuff bc it keeps coming damaged. I was signed up for a $399.99 protection plan I never agreed to and told there’s nothing I can do about it. Their customer service is a joke. I have no choice but to sue this company. They also damaged my wood floors. ***Update**** its been a month and I have been charged for items I do not have as well as charged a delivery fee for items that I never received, and were cancelled. Nothing has been resolved. I have called customer service more than 10 times. I have emailed customer service repeatedly. I have sent a demand letter to their legal department. I have gone to the physical store location. I have done everything to get this resolved. It has been an absolute nightmare.

My wife and I spent several hours today working with Rikki on a deal for a whole master bedroom set with a king size bed, mattress, dresser, mirror, chest. We ended up testing out several manufacturers of mattress and loved the Ashley furniture Gruve mattress. A surprisingly impressive product against Sealy, Purple, TemperPedic, etc. we ended up rolling in a new dining room table and 6 chairs as well. We had a great experience with sales manager Dakota who looked out on a great deal for a bundle and even sat with us for awhile and talked dogs, hobbies and life while Rikki got everything done and tied up on their end. We shopped Ashley, Haynes, Value Furniture and Rooms-to-go… Ashley had the best deals with an overall better product and the staff gave us the best shopping experience. Many of the team members at other stores followed us around and simply pushed us further away by over pressuring us. We will return to Ashley again down the line for an upgrade on our family room and who knows what else ! Great job guys. Thanks!

Please be aware that if you take advantage of the special financing option, it is a credit card. I feel very misled and I am extremely disappointed with my experience because my fiancé and I explained to the salesperson (Ashley) we are planning for a wedding as well as in process of buying our first home. I was not looking for a credit card, especially one that would be maxed out as we pay off the couch. It impacted my credit negatively, closing the card would make it worse and by the time I received the card to understand what the salesperson meant by “account number”, it was too late to return the couch. I wish the salesperson explained it was a credit card instead using the term account number, I would have explored other options or returned at a later time for the couch. I thought she understood what we needed, but instead we feel taken advantage of for a sale.

BEWARE 🤬 I ordered my furniture set November 11, 2024. Was told 3 week delivery time by sales rep. Horrible company!!! Numerous calls with long hold times, I was given many different delivery dates. As of February 6th, 2025 there is still no date for delivery. The manager of the store, Dakota Carter, whom I spoke with in person on January 6th 2025 has sent emails to “someone” many times with no answer. He has been unable to reach the “corporate office” which is really just a customer service number with really long hold times!! Three months later I still do not know when I will get my furniture! Had hoped to have it by Christmas 2024. RUN from this store. Zero customer service, worst I have EVER seen! Lies upon lies about when you will receive your furniture! Research the numerous complaints on this company!! Reporting this to the BBB! 🤬

Bought furniture 2 years ago. I would have saved thousands if I bought online and not at this store. I reported them to the BBB for it. Larger Ashley says it’s a franchise. Paid more and got shittier pay terms than if I bought online. Use this place as some where to see what you want, then buy online. The sales people will lie to you. I wax approved for $10k credit, oddly (sarcasm). That damn near what I paid.

Dj was awesome! He made it feel very welcoming and was no rush to make sure my wife and I left with exactly what we wanted to start off in our new house the right way! I will definitely be back for all of my furniture needs in the future!

Worst furniture store, I have purchased living room and tables sets in November 2024, the sales person told me that the delivery will be on late December as one item is missing. In December I have been informed that missing item didn’t arrive at their warehouse and it will arrive in January 13th. Again in January 13 they told me that the item hasn’t arrived and its expected to be arrived in February. Then I visited the store to check the status of my order, front desk told me they sent an email to customer services to inquire whether they have the missing item in the truck arrived at the warehouse, however, customer services didn’t respond to the email for around seven days despite several follow-ups as informed by the front desk in the later visit. Then I had to cancel the order as I needed it before January end. Now I bought the furniture I need from rooms to go at the same price on January 22nd and received it today January 30.

Ricki was a wonderful help and assisted me with my purchase. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Ricki keep up the great customer service.

Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs I purchased a $3,000 couch from Ashley Furniture in July 2022 but returned it in September 2022 within their stated return period. I was hesitant about the purchase, but the salesperson assured me I could return it within 45 days if I wasn’t satisfied. Fast forward to 2024, and I’ve been served with a summons (warrant in debt) claiming I owe $11,600 for a couch I no longer have. This experience has been beyond stressful and completely unacceptable. Despite following their return policy, I am now being dragged into court for an absurd amount. Their customer service is nonexistent, and their practices are shady at best. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Ashley Furniture. I wouldn’t even recommend buying a lamp from them. Save your money and your sanity—shop elsewhere!

I rarely leave negative reviews but this situation requires one. I ordered and paid for a mattress on a Thursday. Set up delivery for new mattress and pick up of my old mattress on the following Saturday. I went into the store on Thursday to pick up the wrap for my old mattress and confirmed with Ricky that my order was good to go. The delivery company called and texted on Friday to confirm the delivery for the next day (Saturday) between 8am-11am. I woke up early on Saturday to strip my bed, wrap my mattress, move my furniture, and prepare for delivery. I didn't hear from anyone, so by 3:30pm, I called the store and the woman who answered was unhelpful and told me to call customer service. When I called customer service, they called the delivery dispatcher, only to let me know that my order was on hold. When I called the store again (I called 5 times that day and they only picked up on the 3rd call), and they told me the order was on hold because "the receipt was never signed.".... they then proceeded o tell me that THEY entered my email wrong so we never got the receipt. Let me reiterate, this was THEIR mistake, not mine. They sent me the receipt again, told me to sign immediately for a new delivery. I asked why no one let us know (they have our phone numbers) and she said "once an order is paid for, we don't see it". I had to set up the new delivery for Tuesday, which required me to use my PTO to take an entire day off due to their mistake. What makes it worse is that I missed a lot of work the week before due to the water outage. We asked to speak to a manager who offered $99 off a $1600 order and when we asked for a full refund, they said they couldn't because I had now signed the receipt. They said they could do a store credit instead. Since I wasn't going to get our money back, I set up the delivery for Tuesday. The delivery people were fast and I do love the mattress but I will NEVER return to this store and have let everyone I know to never shop here

Our first time in a furniture store, Liz made it smooth and stress free (Edited 2/14/25) Now I understand why they have you fill out a review before receiving your furniture: my first delivery was only part of my couch (the chase) and I had no idea it was only PART and not both pieces, because I received a text saying “your couch is being delivered today” (which of course you would assume it’s the total couch because it wasn’t specified they only had 1/2 the couch) no email communication has ever been sent minus confirmation of my purchase. After having to wait weeks for the other half of the couch to be delivered, I had to reach out to the employee that helped me and was informed that our couch is delayed. There was no communication or email updates of when our couch would arrive, or if it was running behind (which it was, multiple times). It’s also frustrating that the employee completely SOLD herself to me and said she would provide updates and make the process easy and provided her direct number should there be issues….but realistically isn’t much help at all and seemed offended that I actually reached out to her. I got GOT by Ashley furniture and their “car salesman” attitude.

Order was smooth and salesperson was very helpful until they missed the delivery. Salesperson hid from us and the only resolve offered by them was to do on another day, causing a day missed at work by the occupant. Manager told buyer that a discount could be applied and that he would personally call back the buyer with confirmation. Crickets. We buy from Ashley in other markets without issue. This store in Richmond will be avoided going forward.

I ordered a couch and chair in store on Black Friday. I was told my delivery timeframe was 2-3 weeks. After 5 weeks of silence, I called customer care and asked for an update. They told me the couch wasn't available yet but they'd look into it and give me an update. Today marks 7 weeks - no update from customer care. My dad died yesterday so I'll be out of state, so now I have to worry about one more thing since Ashley only cares about the sale and not actually delivering the product or keeping their customers up to date. Where is my furniture, Ashley??

Me and my wife were looking for furniture (specifically a rocker/recliner as we have a little one on the way). We tried rooms to go, but everything was so pricey, and had a week or 2 lead time. We hadn’t heard much about Ashley furniture, but we were super impressed! We were greeted by Dakota Carter when we entered, I told him exactly what we wanted and our time frame. He wasted no time, showed us where to look and promised to make something work for us. He stuck to his promise and we walked out of there 30 minutes later with a Quality rocker/recliner at about 1/3 of the price I expected to pay. Thank you Dakota, we love our new recliner!

My wife and I came in looking for a new mattress and power base. Dakota, GM greeted us and showed us where everything was. Dakota was not pushy and went way above and beyond as we all know buying a mattress is worse then buying a new car. Dakota was very comical and made our experience like we’ve known him for years. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. The world needs more people like Dakota and will definitely be back for any of our furniture needs.

This is not a legitimate business—it’s a scam operation I ordered a sofa set in November, and they promised delivery within three weeks. When the three weeks passed, I contacted them, and they suddenly changed the delivery date to the end of February. When I requested to cancel the order, they refused to refund my money, claiming that if I canceled, I could only use the amount to purchase something from their store. This is unacceptable. They failed to fulfill their promise of delivering the sofa in three weeks, and now they’re forcing me to buy from their limited and low-value stock. I don’t even need the sofa anymore in February, but I still won’t get my money back. This company uses deceptive tactics to trap customers and exploit them. Avoid them at all costs—they are running a scam, not a business

Bought a recliner. Wanted to have it delivered to the store closest to us. Big mistake! Spent a week trying to get in touch with anybody who would return a call or give us an update. Midlothian store is worthless. If you can get someone to answer (Good Luck!) they will check into but never call you back.

Upon entering the store I noticed a woman sitting at a large table. I walk to her and ask, "Where are the beds located? She pointed one end of the store to the other. After walking around for 10 minutes I found them down in the far right corner of the store. I looked for another 10 minutes or so waiting for an employee . No one. I really needed to buy a bed and mattresses. I decided to walk back to the table and there were 2 employees sitting at this large table. No one looked at me they continued in their conversation. I had had enough and wished them a Merry Christmas and departed. I found what I needed elsewhere.

Salesman was good at initial sale. However they completely botched the delivery. No communication whatsoever, didn't return calls the day it was supposed to be delivered. I had to go to the store only to be told it wasn't scheduled the day I had been told. Malik could have cared less that this was a huge problem for us. There was no effort to arrange for delivery today, which is when it is needed. I'm having to drive an hour to pick it up myself. Don't waste your time with this store.

We ordered chairs on Nov. 13th. They said they would be here in 2 to 3 weeks. It’s now been 5 weeks! We went in today and they said an order hadn’t been placed. Maybe not, but they changed credit card. Now we are in complete limbo. They don’t know when they will be in!!!!!!! The store is saying the distribution center needs to take care of it and the distribution center says it’s the stores problem Update: two hours later- Heard from Sharon, chairs will be delivered next Wednesday hooray

I had an excellent shopping experience working with Jordan and Devon. They both exhibited stellar customer service and answered all questions I had with knowledge of the products, policies, and procedures. Jordan, the assistant manager, displayed superb leadership in balancing multiple customer and team member inquiries with passion and a smile. From this experience, I walked away a satisfied customer with confidence in knowing I made the right choice by returning to Ashley Home Store after eight years. I look forward to receiving my newly purchased items this holiday season. ***Update*** On 12/6/2024, I received an update stating all my items would be delivered on 12/7/2024, between 1pm and 4pm. On 12/7 at 12:49pm, I received a phone call from Jose with J&E Trucking, LLC. informing me he was 20min away. Perfect, or so I thought. Upon arrival, Jose who was accompanied by Philippe, started listing items that were not available for delivery as well as some items he discovered were damaged after removing them from the cloth wrapping. I had no choice but to be ok with that, in that moment. As Jose and Philippe began to aggressively maneuver through my home, I noticed they were not being careful with my walls which were light in color. Therefore, I asked if they could be more careful. Jose was ok with the request; however, as the discovery was made that more items were damaged and needed to be send back, he became a bit disturbed and forcefully began wrapping up the items to be returned and headed downstairs. After that, I proceeded to walk down the hall, when I discovered damages to my walls. Upon inquiring with Philippe about them, he began pointing to the walls and stating there was no way they could’ve done the damages and asked me if I was crazy while basing up in my face. At that point, I told him to get out of my house and do not step foot back in. He proceeded to leave while yelling at me and while standing in my front yard. I just moved into this neighborhood. What a way for me to make an entrance. I asked Jose to whom did they report and who could I contact regarding the damages to my home. He replied, “I don’t know”, left the unassembled furniture scattered throughout my home, and departed the neighborhood. I contacted Ashley Home Store on West Broad - Richmond, VA, and asked to speak to the persons with whom I started my purchasing process, Jordan and Deron, only to find Jordan had been transferred to another store and Deron was no longer with the company. I was transferred to Alexis Miles in Customer Care who while I was informing her of what I experienced, thought it was necessary to place me on hold while I was speaking. Her reasoning was she wanted to inform her manager of my concerns. However, I thought it was very inconsiderate and rude especially considering what I had just endured. I was able to speak with her supervisor Kayla who advised me that she would handle the situation and provide an even exchange for all items that could not be delivered or was damaged. To this end, I am left with unassembled/incomplete bedroom sets and living room furniture as well as damages to a newly built home. This is extremely unacceptable! ***Update 1/21/2025*** After a few more incomplete deliveries and inconsistent details regarding my order and store policies and procedures, I can finally say, my delivery is complete. This is all thanks to the amazing Malik, one of the supervisors there, who should actually be one of the managers. He patiently took the time research my order and identified an error previously made by another sales person. Upon receiving knowledge of such, Malik successfully corrected the issue to ensure my remaining items were delivered timely. Just some honest feedback to whom it concerns, you may want to strongly consider who you promote and relocate to managerial positions, for you are truly overlooking the true talent within your franchise. For what it’s worth, based on my interaction with Malik, I am changing my rating from one star to a three.

Waiting for weeks for Jackson and Jordan (Manager) - Ashley Store Richmond to get back to me on a refund for a couch I paid for in August and have not received. We had to go to a completely different Ashley store to get assistance. They promised to elevate this and do not answer the store's phone. I wish there was a negative star review for this. They don't even answer the phone when customer service calls. Waiting for this to be resolved! Still awaiting my refund Broad Street.

Well I am updating my review to add details regarding receipt of the furniture. While the process with DJ at the Board St location was great and I didn’t feel like I was being harassed or being sold a used car getting in touch with the store after the fact & after they have your money is a different story. I’ve called countless times and no one will answer!

I Bought a storage bed didn’t get all the pieces delivered my sells rep no longer works there worked with 3 different customer service reps and was told they can’t order the pieces I’m missing and was told because I moved my warranty was voided drove over an hour to the store the customer service manager Maleek said he sent an email out to someone hire up and to call back between 11 and 7 that he would be there I call all day today close to a hundred times between 12 and 7 left 2 voicemails and no one would answer and I’m now stuck with a storage bed with no storage and out $2,600 don’t buy from them they are scam artist

When I walked into Ashley home store, the bed that I wanted was out of stock, me and the salesman went around the store looking at beds and all of the beds I said I would want were out of stock! I had to settle for a bed I didn't truly want just because it was in stock. When delivery time came, the delivery workers were very good and respectful, I had no problem with them. My next problem was that I was not told I wouldn't get a box spring for my bed! On the day of the delivery the workers had me talk to someone and they said the box was out of stock and they could have my bed here in the next week. I am appalled and my cabinet that I ordered for my TV to sit on does not open and close probably. I am currently still sleeping on the floor waiting for the box spring to come so I can have a complete bed...

We came in looking for a new couch for our living room and we left with a great couch. We were greeted promptly and warmly upon entering and Jarrell helped us through our shopping and purchasing of the couch. He helped us reconfigure our choice to fit our space and we are so thrilled to have a comfy, stylish new couch for our home!

I have been calling to cancel my order since yesterday evening, the same day I set up financing and delivery in store. I requested cancellation immediately due to experiencing an unexpected, but very serious medical emergency just hours after visiting the Broad St location. I have been calling every number listed on their website from the hospital trying to cancel the order and they have routed me to several different people saying they need their approval to cancel it. Their website says to call customer care to cancel the order and when I called customer care the morning after I called and left a voicemail, customer care said that they couldn’t cancel the order, that they would email the store to cancel it, and that if I couldn’t reach anyone, that I should go into the store. I explained to them that I could not do that because I have been hospitalized, and she offered no other solution and ended the call. I then called the store and talked to Theo, who said he had to discuss with the sales associate who sold me the couch before he could cancel the order, and said he would call me with an update. Hours later, I called the store again because I did not hear anything and found out that they cancelled the delivery, but not the order itself. I requested again to cancel, and the associate told me I could since I was within 24hours of the order. I said that YES, I would love to cancel and she said that she would put me on a brief hold to handle that for me, then when she came back on the line, she told me I could not cancel the order without speaking to the manager, who was conveniently speaking with a customer and couldn’t come to the call. I was told they would call me back regarding the cancellation, but I have yet to receive any call regarding cancellation. I was also never given an itemized bill of sale in store, and the terms of the warranty agreement were greatly embellished by the associate who sold me the sofa. Per their own terms, I am entitled to cancellation, but they are trying to beat around the bush and have me purchase a sofa that I do not want due to being hospitalized for a serious medical emergency. I do not recommend purchasing from here!

Initial service was excellent, but unfortunately, they discounted part of the order. They refuse to pick up the matching set and have refused to remove the undelivered furniture from my bill. On multiple occasions, I have called and was informed someone would get back I. Touch with me, but the ghosting has continued. 8 months later, the issue remains unresolved. Stay away from ALL THINGS ASHLEY!

Run away. Furniture met our needs but service was beyond disappointing. No one from the store reached out to us after the transaction to follow up on back-ordered items. They delivered the wrong item, which was the cherry on top of a comedy of errors. Later, when a mattress foundation collapsed under normal use, the company’s “customer service” said it was unwilling to do anything - claiming this wasn’t a manufacturer’s defect. Overall, company seemed “transactional” — seemingly not interested in repeat business or positive word of mouth recommendations to friends/family. Would not spend a penny here again

Truly one of the best sales/customer experiences I have had. Jarrell (at the Broad Street location) did not at any time try to "sell me" on anything, but rather provided detailed answers to my questions when I sought him out for assistance. When I elected to go with Ashley's selection the following day, he made the (usually lengthy) checkout/purchasing process a breeze and I left the store actually looking forward to my next furniture upgrade. If your on the market for attractive yet affordable furniture (even if just a new lamp w character) do yourselves a favor and hit up Jarrell at Ashley Furniture on Broad!

My husband and I desperately wanted a new couch and has been searching everywhere. Came into Ashley and mrt Marcus the moment I walked in. He was incredibly helpful and kind. He didn't hover and gave me my space to look around. Came back the next day and made a seemeless purchase. Definitely ask for Marcus when you go in!

Janon was amazing help with finding a recliner for us. He was very patient, yet quick and understanding to find the right fit of comfort that was needed in the recliner we were buying. He was very knowledgeable! He offered the protection plan and explained what it was, which was a plus for us and we accepted the protection plan. I greatly appreciate his help and hopefully can come back to buy again! Thank you! Update: 20 min after putting it together I tried the recliner and and opened but when I went to close it the mirror just stopped working. Took me almost 24 phone calls four someone at the store to pick up and trained me to my sales person Janon. He quickly said he was going to be texting the store manager and that I would get a prompt response from him the very next day. Forward to Sunday I waited to be called but no phone call happened so I decided to call my self to try to get my situation straight since I bought the chair because my daughter had surgery and I needed asap. When I finically was able to reach the store I asked for Manager on duty, a female came to the phone and I explained everything that had happened and that Janon had said that a manager would be calling me, all she said was that she apologized that there’s nothing that she can do so I asked for the manager on duty that day Jordon Owen after a brief hold she said that he was busy that there’s nothing he could do for Me but to call customer service. She said she was writing an email for the store manager Theo to call me back Monday. Once again no phone call so I drove to the store to try to talk to him which then once I get to the store the salesperson available said that he want in the store that they were in training. Why not let me know the day before that no one would call that customer service is close? I reminded them that this wasn’t customer service. I purchased a $900 recliner that I can’t use until someone decides to do the right thing as simple as a phone call but apparently the store is lacking in that area. I feel like once I bought the item they just don’t care. Still waiting four a resolution in the meantime I have an item that can’t be used. Thanks to the horrible customer service I have received Ashley home furnishing has lost my total business with them. I’ve never had to do so much running around to try to get decent customer service.

DO NOT ORDER FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE. They will keep your money!! I had recently went to the store for living room furniture. I purchased a 5 piece sectional based on measurements they had that indicated the furniture would fit in my living room. However, once the items were delivered all the pieces did not fit so the delivery driver returned 2 pieces back to warehouse. I was advised to call customer care, who advised me to call the store, who advised me to call customer care, who advised me to call the the store, who advised me to call customer care. It has been nearly 4 weeks of back and forth to only be told that they don’t provide refund (even if the furniture was not delivered), per their policy “ALL SALES ARE FINAL.” The only option you will have is reselection. It’s so disappointing that a company can keep your money for items that you don’t want and when you do not need to do “reselection” (since I’m keeping the living room pieces that do fit.). Please save yourself this headache that I am having to deal with. It’s so disheartening. I will never consider them again nor will I recommend anyone to purchase from them. So should be required to inform all customers verbally that you will not be allowed to get a refund as all sales are final.

ASHLEY FURNITURE is THE WORST!!!!!! Ordered just a couch with an ottoman in the beginning of July & was told it would be here in August…. Here we are headed almost into October & still no couch. I contacted the store & asked to speak to a manager, & the young lady said that none were available & they would contact me back. Do you think they called me back, absolutely not…. This is at the store on West Broad Street in Richmond VA. Jordan was the Sales Rep & I haven’t heard from him. HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Absolutely horrible experience. Spent $3k in furniture back in March. Items delivered broken, multiple redeliveries of still-broken items. They will not refund, so you have to "reselect" from items they have available in-store, which isn't much. I selected a cabinet which was delivered stained. Now waiting on a new one for months. Was told back in stock 8/12. Sent multiples emails and left messages, no response. Got ahold of customer care and new ETA is 10/4. Do yourself a favor and do NOT do business with this company. Nothing but aggravation and lies. Not sure how those salespeople sleep at night. EDIT to respond to Ashley: You stated you offered a reselection to accommodate my living space? My living space was never the issue! The quality of the furniture was the problem and the "reselect" was the same furniture! After my terrible issues, you have the audacity to blame me and my lack of proper measurement when it's really just the terrible quality of the furniture you sold me. I can't say I'm surprised though, and I hope potential customers reading this use your words as further proof of why they should not shop at your store.

We had a fire at our apartment complex and needed furniture asap, we went to Ashley looking for a couch and recliner. The couch we wanted wasn't in stock so we purchased the couch, recliner and loveseat since the sales person stating we could get the love seat and recliner delivered the coming Tuesday. Well, I took off work waiting for the two pieces to be delivered only to try and call them over a dozen times. They do not answer the phone. Finally I get the main office customer service and I am told nothing was in stock and it would be 2 weeks for the furniture. We forked out extra money so we would have a place to sit. We verified multiple times that the 2 pieces would be delivered that Tuesday. They told us yes each time. We would never have purchased the furniture if they had not promised us the two would be delivered on Tuesday. I will never shop there again and we are still trying to get in touch with the manager so we can cancel this purchase. I am so upset about this that I will be contacting the BBB and filing a complaint against Ashley Update: we requester a refund forthe loveseat and were told 5-10 business days. I called on the 10th day and they told me they would find out what is going on, no response after that. I called and was hung up on, I called 70+ times, no answer. I got there to see an empty store and salesmen just standing around chatting. Someone could have answered the phone. No manager at the store. Ashley did nothing to return our money and wanted to email accounting again. I demanded something be done. The nice gentleman who helped me called accounting and I finally got my refund. Noone should be treated the way we were. Ashley should be sued but I am trying to be the better person.

My husband and I purchased furniture 2 years ago. We recently had an issue and needed to use our protection plan; we were never provided our plan number and didn't receive any information in writing other than the sales receipt. When I called the customer care center, they pulled our account, shared the store never provided the plan number, and advised we call the store directly to receive it. I called the store the first time and spoke to Ricky who told me that the woman who can pull plan numbers does not get in until 11am and to call back. I called twice and no one picked up so I was forwarded to the customer care center again. When I called back again at 11:43am, Ricky picked up again sharing she was on the line with another customer, asked to take my phone number so she can call back, and I asked to remain on hold (which I was on hold for over 30 minutes). They then hung up the phone while I was waiting. I called back on my husbands phone and a woman by the name of Jasmine picked up. In 3 minutes, she was able to verify my information, provide me with my plan number, and shared she would send it in an email as well. When I spoke with Ricky the second time, he shared that she was the only person who could pull plan numbers. There should be more than one person who is able to assist and look up information. We could've avoided this scenario had the original information been provided 2 years ago. The customer service was unprofessional; Jasmine got on the phone and did not apologize nor did she acknowledge the store's fault. While I am not the only customer who may be calling, this situation should have been handled better. Staff need training on how to answer the phone, especially after a customer shares an unpleasant experience, and they need to explain the process thoroughly when there is an issue. While I'm sure these individuals do not care, we will never purchase from here or Ashley again and plan to share our experience with others.

Jackson did a great job fulfilling our requirements when buying two twin mattresses. We were initially greeted by another associate and were directed to the mattress section, he came and found us, found out what we wanted and he said he would be right back and we saw him2-3 minutes later helping someone else. We felt disrespected and mad. We were getting ready to leave and Jackson asked could he help, he was such a breath of fresh air and was a great associate in getting us what we wanted regardless of how much we were going to spend, we will come back to buy more because of Jackson. I have to modify this review due to the total incompetence of the team on getting my mattress delivered I was promised the mattress on a certain day then went over to the store to pick it up no mattress. It had never been ordered then promised it the following week, called the store and guess what , it wasn’t put on the truck so no mattress, they agreed to have it delivered to me on a Saturday, 2 hours after it was to be delivered I called for an update and the delivery company said it was not on the truck, I called the store and the associate said I could drive an hour to Fredericksburg and pick it up myself if I really wanted it. Called the store back on the following Monday and raised hell and got it delivered on that Wednesday. Way too much drama for a mattress sale. I will not go back

Today we purchased a lovely Queen sized bedroom set and we're assisted by a younger associate by the name of DERON. For anyone who has LOST HOPE in our future because of all the negative imaging of our youth PLEASE if buying furniture come and see this young man. He's a dynamite, non abrasive, genuinely great kid making his mark in this industry. All the best to his team (Theo & Sarah) ; and the wonderful youthful associates.

Editing this review from a five-star to a one-star. Order a bed and was told it would be delivered in 10 days. After I had not received it, I called and they told me it was going to be 20 more days before it would be in stock. Then I was told I could come back into test other beds and maybe change my order. I went in and they said the bed I originally wanted was actually in stock and everything was okay. After I got home, they called and told me that they had already changed the beds in the system from the one I originally ordered to one that they had in stock and now I have to pay an additional $400. I would never recommend this sort to anyone. Please do not go here

Jordan was phenomenal! I wanted a very popular couch and it was on back order. Jordan took the time to show me similar products, different fabrics and helped me to explore all of my options. Ultimately I stuck with the original couch I was in love with. He was very transparent about delivery timelines being a little unpredictable. He was very communicative. You can tell he cares for his customers and is knowledgeable in the furniture business. Jade & Gabby also provided customer service that exceeded my expectations.

I was helped by Jay and he was very friendly, honest and very knowledgeable about all types of mattresses. I came in midday looking for a new mattress and loved my experience.

Came in looking for a specific coffee table and Deron was able to help us and even offered additional options that suited our needs for our new space!

Appalled by our visit this evening. We have been Ashley’s customers for years and this time there were a lot of games played unnecessarily. There is no military discount anymore or any other offers despite attempting to buy several pieces of furniture and that’s fine, but don’t condescend customers and play games and be dishonest. We were patronized and told they were “too busy” while the assistant manager and alleged manager that left us hanging without a response were behind us bullcrapping. There must be a LOT of business in Ashley to afford losing years long loyal customers due to not knowing how to negotiate or properly engage with customer service.

I bought a sofa over a month ago and I still don't have a sofa. Called them and they said it would be in the next week. Called again and time keeps getting pushed out. I have no idea when I will get my sofa but will be asking for a refund soon. Imagine a store that sells furniture but can't seem to deliver what they sell! UPDATE 8/15/2024: Still no sofa. I was told last week it would be in on 8/12 and now this week I am being told that the sofa is on back order and won't be here until 9/24. That is unacceptable. I bought this couch the end of June.

This location of Ashley Furniture was one of the BEST furniture buying experiences I’ve ever had. I was always able to find someone if I needed assistance, but I wasn’t followed through the store by a salesperson trying to make a sale. I felt like I could make an unhurried decision without being pressured. Brian and DJ were super helpful and kind. The furniture we found looks beautiful, was a reasonable price, and seems built to last. I’d highly recommend this store!!

ASHLEY FURNITURE. THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR RETURN POLICY. A defective bed was delivered and they refused to let me return it. I went to the store and picked out a more expensive bed, and was willing to pay the difference, but CUSTOMER CARE refused. Monique, Kayla, Kaylen Bates and Thomasine said there was no one else above them. They said they had never heard of Steve Humphries, the district manager. The General Manager at the local store, Theo, tried to order the new bed but Customer Care refused to budge. Customer care lied to me multiple times and continued to deny there was anything wrong with the bed even after they had sent a technician out. Then they acknowledged the bed had a manufacturer’s defect in writing, but would only approve an even exchange of the exact same bed. I can now only leave bad reviews on any site possible. The employees at the local store are awesome, but they do not have a chance due to Customer Care being dishonest and deceitful.

The experience was sort of like a good dream that ended terribly. I was willing to make a deal with them then they had me scan the QR code, and I started seeing all the reviews and some of what they were saying in the reviews were true so I became a tad weary but was like two of the sells persons’ personalities, the team lead and one of the other sellers looks me up and down as if they were displeased. I also noticed they treated certain types of people differently. The one seller I liked seemed to not really be sure of their answers and some of the things I was told wasn’t true when they confirmed with another team member. The icing on the cake for me was when two of the members had an altercation about the questions being asked and the team lead didn’t handle it at all. That was my sign to leave. I almost signed the contract too and I’m glad I didn’t, I only owed for the credit check.

Adjusting my review! Everything was fine in the store, but after the sale, communication ceased. What I told was a white couch in store was not white upon arrival. I contacted Brandon for help resolving the issue, but he was unhelpful. Alexis from customer care was no help! Both the store and customer care gives you the run around. The only person that was a little helpful was Jade. The store says one thing and customer care says another. Go elsewhere, it’s not worth the trouble you’ll encounter. I’ve purchased from Ashley before and this by far has the absolute worst experience.

If you are looking for quality selections, realistic prices, and outstanding service, you must go to Ashley on Broad Street. Everyone at the store is gracious and professional. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Djamel (“DJ”), and he was knowledgeable, accommodating, and made the process a seamless treat. I highly recommend him and the store!

If I could put a zero star, I would have done that. My wife and I order our furniture from Ashley February 18, 2024. At the time of the sale, the estimated delivery time was 4 - 6 weeks. We originally ordered a king size bed frame with two bed side tables, box spring, mattress, and sectional with ottoman. We were told that everything was ready except for the ottoman and armless piece for the sectional. Being understandable on the supply chain issues, we called right after 6 weeks about the status of our furnitures. We were told that everything will be in by the end of March and someone will call. We didn’t hear anything so that we called customer service again. We were told at that time the bed was ready except for the bed side tables and the sectional was missing the ottoman. Moreover, they cannot just deliver the bed and everything has to be delivered at the same time. Nothing happened. We called again and we told the sectional and the bedroom set will be ready the end of April. What were missing from our order was the armless piece from the sectional, ottoman, and the bed frame. We felt customer service wasn’t helpful so that we went in the store where we order the furniture. Then another story were told about what was missing from our order. The week before Memorial Day, we called the store and gave them one last chance delivering our order before canceling. They said they will be ready by the end of the week and will call us about delivery. On May 25, we heard nothing from them. Then we went in the store. Finally they told us that the bedroom set was ready but the sectional was missing everything but the ottoman. Having dealt with Ashley for over two months, my wife and I did not believe they can deliver what we ordered because they could not even keep their promises to call us. We had to cancel the entire order knowing 20% of the total purchase will be kept as store credit. We still decided to walk away and cut loose with Ashley. Don’t make the same mistake as we did.

Today we had a great experience at Ashley. Tiera was super helpful and had a great upbeat attitude and answered all out questions. The manager came over to check on us and let us know she was new and we would have never known if they hadn’t told us. We will be buying at Ashley again!
