To start this tale: I went into the store to buy a new sectional, we picked one out and the salesperson put in the order, we verified several times that we wanted right facing chaise, left facing sofa (which was the same configuration as the floor model on display). The store interaction was fine. Nothing good or bad, just fine. Fast forward some time (June 4, 2025) when my sectional gets delivered. It was a delivery drop, I signed for the delivery and proceeded to get the sectional into my house. I unwrap one of the two pieces and realize something was wrong. It was a right facing sofa and not the left facing I purchased. I open the chaise and it's a left facing chaise. It was the correct model and correct color, but the wrong configuration. I was immediately mad and called customer care. After calling customer care and waiting for 30 minutes, I opted for the callback option. I then called the store to see if they could help. Apparently, no one there knows how to answer a phone because out of 4 times calling back to back, only once did someone answer. The conversation was brief as I just said I had my stuff delivered and it's incorrect. The person asked who my salesperson was, I told them who it was, then they put me on hold. 5 minutes later, the line disconnected. I called back and no one answered. Later, I finally got a call back from a customer care rep and we had a whole conversation about how my order was wrong. She said that she was going to start a claim and that I would have to wait until their next shipment comes in on June 12 because they only had one of the pieces to my sectional available. She then said after that happens, they will contact me for re-delivery. I asked what I should do with the current sectional and she told me I can unwrap it and use it for the time being. I waited until June 16 and called customer care. I called Monday at 3pm and their automated system said they were closed and their hours were Mon-Sat 8a-5p. Confusing, but found out later they are closed Monday. Maybe update that. After 3 days of calling and leaving voicemails and never getting callbacks, I finally got ahold of someone. I told the person that I wanted a status update on my ongoing case. I was placed on hold, but once she came back, she informed me that there was no case for me in the system. No case, no nothing. So the first person I talked to, apparently, did absolutely nothing, submitted nothing, and fed me a bunch of nothing. Needless to say, I was irate. This rep I had on the phone got a case created and told me I had to send photos of the furniture for the case and whatnot. I did exactly that. 2 days later, I get a call back from the same person saying they approved my case and we can go ahead with an exchange for the correct sectional. The rep gave me the instructions of going to the store and doing a re-selection. However, she then explained there was going to be a $230 re-delivery fee. I was taken aback and expressed that was quite ridiculous. I was then given the answer of the drivers need to get paid and all this that and the third. I didn't care honestly. I felt it was unfair to have to pay additional money to correct a mistake made by Ashley in the first place. The only options that were presented to me were pay the $230 for re-delivery, pick it up at the warehouse for free which is about 70 miles away from me, or keep what we have and live with it. Ultimately, my wife and I decided to keep what we have even though it's not the configuration we wanted nor paid for. I'd rather deal with an inconvenience in my living room than deal with anything further from Ashley. First they screw up my order, then a customer care rep does absolutely nothing and leaves me hanging completely, then I'm told I have to pay more money to fix the mistake that Ashley made or just live with what we got. I will never do business with Ashley Furniture again. You had one job.
