When me and my wife walked into Ashley Furniture, before we even got through the doors we saw the silhouette of a sharp man standing poised like behind the entrance. We opened the doors and he greeted us. Not too soon not too late. He asked us what we were looking for and we told him. A bed. First option he showed us as we walked around the store was a bit pricey for us and when I simply cut to the chase and told him we want the cheapest and nicest bed they could offer, he took us directly there.. and may I just say.. that bed was gorgeous and very affordable as well as the dresser it came with. Plus he had went out of his way to make the items even cheaper! Like, wayyy cheaper. He went over all of the financing options available and let us know the pros and cons of each of them. He even told us ways to avoid interest. By the end of the transaction I shook his hand and asked for his name. Cory Reyna is what he said. Cory, thanks so much and expect us back again. -Taj

People here lied to us. Until now I haven't received my order. I order on the 1st week of December and told us that we will receive it the next week. At first they told us that it may take a while because they have no available but then we said we can't wait that long we are just gonna check around. Then the sales lady said that they still have one available in the warehouse and they can have it deliver the next week. So we were happy because we need the bed as soon as possible because we just move and we need the bed badly. We waited and waited until we can't wait no more because it's been 3 weeks. I called them to follow up, because it's been too long just to hear "Oh, there is a part that we have been waiting and it may take 2 to 3 weeks and I'm like why are we not informed about this? So I'm supposed to wait until the second week of January and just watch my husband having so much pain in his back because we are using inflated bed. I asked the customer service maybe you can have the bed delivered and we will wait for the bedframe and she was like she had to check and will give me a call or a voicemail, guess what? I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CALL OR VOICEMAIL. SHAME ON YOU GUYS FOR CONSTANTLY LYING! This is so upsetting. Worst experience ever.

Came in today with no expectation of buying anything & came home with a brand new living room set! Syd Hobbs was the best employee to work with! I was met at the front door with a smile from Syd and it was truly an amazing experience!

We felt so welcomed coming through the doors. The staff was nice and friendly. I loved Miss JJ she was the one that help us. She was so helpful, patient and sweet! Will definitely be recommending.

We worked with JJ who set the atmosphere with nothing but happiness and HEART! She shows us the sectional we asked for and encouraged us to try out the recliners and explained the mechanics of everything. My fiancé was worried about warranty and JJ eased her mind on everything she asked. We also bought a mattress set and JJ also discussed the importance of protecting our mattress. We got to meet Scott who helped with negotiating a down payment that was comfortable for us with so much ease! You can tell that the manager cared not only about the employees but also the customers. DOWN TO CHRISTIE my phone died before I can complete this and she overheard me talk about my phone dying and SHE PULLED OUT THE CHARGER FOR ME!!! I’m at 9% NOW!!!! lol

JJ was a whole vibe!!!when walking into Ashley it was decorated with Christmas and she was also dressed to match! Then to find out she decorated it HERSELF!!! I explained what I was looking for and she walked me straight to what I needed, then gave me a discount. I then asked about mattresses and she showed me the deals! WHAT I WAS GOING TO SPEND FOR ONE THING IN ONE STORE I ENDED UP BUYING MULTIPLE THINGS FOR THAT ONE PRICE! Then here comes Scott, JJ spoke so highly of him and when he asked for one down payment I told him what we could afford and he agreed. Absolutely love the customer service. JJ did a wonderful job getting us set up with a new dining table and chairs! She was very thorough and helpful in explaining and showing us all of our options!

One week shy of three months to get the furniture I purchased when I was quoted 2-4 weeks. A partial delivery, a damaged item delivered and the only communication this entire time was initiated by myself. Scott Einarsson made his sale then abandoned the follow through entirely and he’s the one in charge of the Roanoke location. At no point during this experience was I notified that there was going to be an issue with the furniture or delivery. Only after multiple attempts could I find out what the problem was (always on their end) and if or when it would get resolved. Everything is finally fixed but I would not recommend dealing with this company period.

Received a call saidb Headboard was damaged during shipping and they gave me an option to wait for full order or accept a partial order. I opted for ther partial, Which was everything but the headboard. October 1st, was Told it won't be til 22nd of October to receive my order for whic I paid CASH. No offer to compensate me for the inconvenience. Shop at your own risk, Ill never patronize this store again, nor will I recommend them to ANYONE.

Unacceptable Service and Discrimination I recently visited the Valley View Blvd location and had one of the most disappointing shopping experiences I’ve ever encountered. From the moment we walked in, not a single employee acknowledged us—no greeting, no offer of help, nothing. My boyfriend even asked a question out loud about an item while a nearby associate was within earshot, and instead of assisting, the employee literally turned and walked the other direction. Meanwhile, we watched multiple staff members eagerly attend to older customers as soon as they entered. The contrast in treatment was impossible to ignore and left us feeling completely dismissed and disrespected. Furniture shopping should feel welcoming and inclusive, but this visit was the opposite. We left without purchasing anything and will be taking our business elsewhere. Ashley Furniture should be aware that ignoring potential customers—especially while clearly prioritizing others—reflects terribly on the brand and is unacceptable.

I'm glad that most people have a great experience at this store however, my wife and I didn't. Just moved here from Denver and looking for furniture for our new home. The salesman was just way too pushy for our tastes. Funny thing is, we really liked a set that we would've bought but we bolted out the door the first chance that our salesman had to help somebody else at that moment. It was just too much. Like trying different sofas and recliners out while he's bent over just staring out you. Nah man I'm good and this is ain't the 80's any more with all that pushy salesman tactics. We went to Grand Home Furnishings down the street instead.

J.J. deserves 5 stars due to how quickly she was able to get us the information that we needed to find the right chair for us! She knew the stock well and was never pushy, only passionate! We enjoyed working with her!

JJ was our saleswoman. She listened carefully to what we needed. She seemed genuinely interested in finding us what we wanted in a zero gravity recliner. She was informative, patient and friendly. JJ knew the stores inventory and knew where to find each recliner we wanted to try. She pointed out the features of each recliner and was honest in what she thought best. I originally had given this place 5 stars because the customer service was excellent. I was told by the sales department that I would hear something soon from delivery to set up scheduling and that I was 3rd on a call list for delivery. I didn't hear anything on the first day so, I called today only to find out that I wasn't on any list.

Our visit to Ashley Furniture was unfortunately uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. We were immediately approached by a saleswoman who, despite our polite attempts to let her know we just wanted to browse, followed us around the entire time. We understand that sales are part of the job, but the constant hovering made it difficult to relax or get a real feel for the showroom. A little breathing room would’ve gone a long way in making the experience more enjoyable.

Came to Ashley to get a living room suit we were looking at online. JJ had helped us look around weeks prior and she was there once again when we came in. She was so helpful in looking up discounts and helping us find different pieces that matched the furniture. We were there for about an hour and she did not leave our side. She answered every question and each time we wanted to add a piece she was extremely helpful. We ended up finding everything we needed and she was so pleasant and easy to work with. It was a great experience and JJ did a fantastic job.

Office girls and the salesman were fantastic. Unfortunately that's where the good stops. Waited a month on my mattress and then they couldn't even deliver it, in the 4 hour time frame I was given. Communication is just terrible. The delivery and management of this store is absolutely horrible, I will never purchase anything else from Ashley. Honestly someone should lose a job.... probably the manager, worst buying experience ever!

Ashley Furniture in Roanoke has always been one of my favorites and I am pleased to say this has not changed. Originally I mistakenly went to their outlet store and a new salesperson named Syd encouraged me to look at their furniture. When I could not find what I liked I was kindly directed to a salesperson at Valley View’s Ashley who unfortunately was not there. However, I was greeted by Wilton Kitt when I came in the door and he assured me he would help find what I liked. He patiently showed me the products in the store and listened to what I did or didn’t like. He did not rush me to decide, make annoying faces, or check his watch during this time and when he didn’t have an answer to my questions, he checked with his manager. Then checked online and found the exact item I wanted. He said it could be delivered or I could pick it up but I wanted it shipped because shipping was free when you ordered it online. He then spoke with his manager and asked if this could be done and he came to speak with me. He said delivery guaranteed that my item would not be damaged and if there was damage I wouldn’t have to worry about packing it up and shipping it back. I really didn’t want to pay $200 for delivery but I asked if I purchased something else would it be the same fee and he said yes. So…I ended up buying more than I wanted, but I also realized that there white glove delivery saved me a lot of worries. Before I left, they told me to pick a gift from a table and I felt like a kid in a candy store! Thank you Wilton for your professionalism and kindness!

Updated review on 10/02/2025 Sales experience remains the only good part of the entire process. Initial purchase 5/28/25 Erin H was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient during our recent visit. She explained features, options and made relevant recommendations. She made the entire buying process very easy, relaxing and comfortable. Wife and I purchased a sectional and bedframe, purchase made under her name. HOWEVER, After our initial visit, everything since has been comically bad and incredibly disappointing, frustrating and depressing. After waiting 4 weeks for items to arrive to warehouse for delivery, we were added to the schedule for delivery. Our initial delivery of sectional and bedframe was cancelled (someone called out sick, we were notified morning of delivery), rescheduled, cancelled again (they mistakenly told us they could deliver on a Sunday), rescheduled, cancelled again (on same day of delivery a truck broke down and we were informed 4 hours into the day), rescheduled, and then finally delivered about a month in total later than the first appointment. -Bear in mind each time we had these deliveries scheduled, we had moved our existing couch outside in preparation for their arrival and had to drag everything back inside and setup the living room over again. Delivery arrived at 630 PM (much later than we were expecting). The delivery crew was professional, no issue with them, they were here for 2 hours in total. Multiple pieces arrived damaged and dirty, like they were dragged across a dirty floor, ottoman was the worst damaged and it was clear the damage happened BEFORE the item was wrapped in plastic (as it was unwrapped inside our home and damage immediately seen). The crew took pictures and advised us that manager would get informed and pieces would be replaced and we should hear from someone soon. -2 Weeks later, no communication. Unable to reach the warehouse, so I texted our sales rep who had her manager call me. He (Scott) stated that according the records he could access from the warehouse, NOTHING had yet been done regarding our replacement items (nothing ordered even), and immediately remedied the situation and got the items ordered for replacement and completed the refund paperwork for our delivery fee (due to the massive inconveniences we have experienced so far). -1 Month later, we finally get a call from the warehouse to setup delivery of our replacement pieces for the next saturday available. The friday before the delivery, they call and cancel on us again stating that one of the pieces didn't arrive yet. They said they would call reschedule when it arrived. -1 Month later, after not hearing from anyone about this 1 missing piece I called the warehouse during business hours, no answer, left a message to get an update. -1 Week later (9/26), nobody has called me back, I called Scott the store manager again and told him what was going on, he said we had been added to the call list a few days ago, and they had no gotten to us yet, warehouse has staffing problems, he emailed them directly to bump us up the call list. 1 Hour later someone called to schedule the delivery for this coming Saturday 10/4. -Today 10/2/25, the warehouse called and cancelled on us...Again. This is now the 5th time (in total) we have been cancelled on for delivery. Apparently, they will be short 2 drivers, so they are cancelling on a lot of people. We rescheduled for a weekday this time since Saturdays seem unlucky. Hoping for the best this time and that replacement pieces actually get delivered and are not also damaged. I cannot in good faith recommend buying anything from Ashley and expecting any kind of reasonable delivery or customer service after the fact. This has been an overall horrible experience and I will not be going here ever again. We have been incredibly accommodating to be here and ready for their delivery on 5 occasions now, but the same courtesy has not been extended from them.

Final update - from 1 star to 3 stars. Although we dealt with the situation we did, Ashley Management did finally reach out and we were able to work out a resolution. Thank you for the follow up. I’m editing this response from 5 star to 1. Although BUYING the mattress went fine - delivery was a nightmare. The delivery drivers refused to come down our driveway. My husband had to tell them to leave the damn mattress because we would have had no bed. We had to drag a three thousand dollar mattress down our driveway and set it up ourselves. When I reached out to them about the situation I was basically told oh well. I’ll never buy from them again. Horrible experience.

Went to “look” at a bed and ended up purchasing a bedroom suite and several items. JJ is our favorite sales person! She is personable and goes the extra mile to help. She’s extremely knowledgeable about furniture and accessories and shares what she knows. Scott is the manager of this store, and he makes it easy to get what you want. Prices are reasonable, and there is never any pressure—only a friendly and helpful attitude. My husband and I have been furniture shopping for weeks now and have been to countless stores and by the time I got to Ashley’s, I was done and exhausted and ready to give up! Tanner Melki met us at the door and greeted us and asked us what we were looking for, he led us to some options and I finally found the sectional I wanted but was still indecisive because of the material because we have 4 kids and 4 dogs and was worried about the material getting messed up, he then literally poured hot sauce on a piece of sample material which was the same material as the couch we liked and he then proceeded to show us how easy it was to clean, well that sold me!! Tanner was very friendly and customer service oriented, he was not pushy, and gave us plenty of time to talk between ourselves!! If you need some new furniture, definitely go to Ashely’s and ask for Tanner Melki!

We went to Ashley looking for options for a new sectional for our home. We had already visited every warehouse and store in the area and hadn't found anything that we loved or worked for our needs. Thankfully, at Ashley, we were greeted by Scott who was above and beyond what we were expecting as far as customer service. Scott was honest, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. His candor was refreshing and the experience was incredibly easy. We were in and out in less than an hour. Scott made sure the pieces were available in our selected color, and to our surprise, had them all delivered to our home a week later. We were fully expecting to have to wait a couple of weeks for the pieces that weren't readily available. Incredible customer service. We love our sectional and could not be more pleased. We will 100% be returning to Ashley for our next furniture purchase and asking for Scott!

The worst customer service ever. Furniture was supposed to be delivered in 2 to 4 weeks. 7 weeks later, the furniture is finally here and I have to wait 10 days to get it delivered. Now it's the day of delivery and nobody is shown up and when I call they tell me the truck is broken down but they didn't bother to call and telling anybody.

Apparently after waiting 3 weeks for my items to get delivered to the store. I also have to wait an entire extra week to get it delivered to my address which is about 10 miles away from the store. This is crazy.

Shopping with JJ: I went to Ashley Furniture store today. It was almost closing time, but I decided to take a look. I was rather distracted by my own thoughts regarding what I was looking for. I walked in and this woman (who I now know as JJ) met me at the door. She was so friendly that I wondered if we'd met before. She started chit chatting and before I knew it, we were engaged in a reciprocal conversation. I shared pictures of what I was looking for and we began shopping together! I was having fun and felt like I was shopping with a friend. JJ even complimented me on my taste in furniture and decor. She turned an ordinary time into an event! I found myself taking pictures in effort to match up with existing pieces. So often sales people annoy and distract me. Not JJ, she was shopping with me and she inspired me! I plan to return to Ashley Furniture and shop with JJ again. She too has good taste in furniture and decor! I put her card in my wallet with my money so I won't lose it! I'm definitely going back! If I could give them no stars I would. Great customer service in-store but once you buy the furniture and want it delivered then that’s where your issue comes in, awful customer service then. First was told 2-3 weeks which turned into 5 weeks. Then we were rescheduled three times for delivery. Then the 3rd time they rescheduled the time from 11:30 to 2:30 to 12:30 to 3:30 who knows if it will even come at this point seeing as they did this on the second time as well which ended up with them canceling it. Literally can’t do anything about it but cancel order but we waited 5 weeks for a couch if I knew it was going to be this much trouble I would have went somewhere else.

My experience at Ashley Furniture was absolutely wonderful. Great service, extremely helpful. I could not have ask for anything better. Joyce Jenkins and Scott were awesome to deal with, made me feel very welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

Went in to look for a new sofa. I always liken going into a furniture store to a car dealership. The sales person is right there, kind of in your face. I realize they work on commission, but I also like to look and check out products without someone hovering the whole time. Also despite the sofa we liked being on sale in the store, it is on sale at the Ashley website on line for almost $600 less. I doubt the physical store will come down that much in price. Considering we also wanted an ottoman to match plus the warranty, I can add all that to the order on line and have it total the price just for the sofa alone at the store. I am a senior person living on my social security and savings. I have to be very careful about my spending, so these little things mean a great deal to me. I appreciate the physical stores so I can sit, feel and try out the products, but it makes it hard to do when the issues I mentioned happen.

Change my rating and changed my mind after I figured out they have wonderful service and people to greet you to get a sale Tell you one thing and do another I purchased furniture on November the 14th here it is now December the 4th and still no furniture so I decided to go elsewhere to purchase furniture that delivered the next day and call and cancel my order well that was fine and dandy until I had to pay a restocking fee for furniture that I never received or for seeing coming in the near future then they proceeded to call to try to schedule a delivery date then just because I was scheduled a delivery date that the furniture was still in the warehouse and there would still be more wait time ridiculous customer services horrible as well I would not purchase from here whatever happened to good customer service store manager was unhelpful as well offered to give me different kind of furniture that still had to be delivered which was more wait time unbelievable

Ryan was great to work with on our living room furniture purchase. No pressure at all and quick and efficient with the check out process.

We went to Ashley’s in Roanoke today and from the moment we walked in we had a lovely man named Wilton great us and help us out the entire time. He took the time to explain everything to us and was patient as we roamed around. He was so funny and endearing we truly felt as if we were talking to a friend not a salesman. He even showed us pictures of him family which was so cute. On top of that we also had a lovely man named Darell making us laugh every time we walked past him. This has been the nicest experience my family and I have had in a long time. We are beyond happy with this experience. We will definitely be coming back!!!

He was truly remarkable, and our shared name is merely a coincidence that adds to his greatness.

Worked with sales rep, JJ, to select a new bed. JJ was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the selection Ashley provided. JJ took the time to explain the current state of the art in bedding and we ultimately settled on a new Tempur-Pedic mattress and base. The irony is I went into the store trying to avoid the Tempur-Pedic because I didn't think I wanted a memory foam style mattress. JJ's deep knowledge of the product line and demonstration of the product line convinced us. After shopping a few other stores, we returned to Ashley to make the purchase. Ashley's pricing was the same as purchasing directly from the manufacturer, and their financing terms sealed the deal. Store manager, Matt, was very helpful in getting paperwork processed and the entire experience was a pleasure. I would recommend Ashley Furniture and JJ to anyone in search of new home decor and furnishings.
