Damaged furniture delivered--twice. Poor customer service and communication, especially with the warehouse.

Friendly helpful staff… no high pressure sales just asked what we were looking for and assisted with that! Jan was very helpful!

The store itself is fine. Ashley's furniture has quality items. It's the lady that works there trying to sell you everything in the store that makes this place unbearable. I wish I could remember her name.. she's older with dark hair, and glasses that sit on the tip of her nose. She may be a manager. I know she worked at another furniture store that closed down. Anyway, this lady is so full of herself. We've dealt with her multiple times now. This last time is the last time, though. When we were buying our item she told us halfway through the process it wouldn't come to us for over a month. It was a bed/"hybrid" mattress combo. I kind of wanted to say "forget it" waiting that long, but of course Ms. commission pay kept letting us know that we wouldn't find a better deal anywhere else(full of it). We knew better, but my wife had her heart set on it. So I said ok for my wife, not because of anything the lady was telling us. She makes it well known she's getting commission pay. She lays it on thick. Runs up to you the second you walk into the store. Talks to you like you don't know anything. She'll act so nice to you up until the point the transaction is over and then she goes back into don't-care mode. She acted so rude to my wife on the phone when my wife missed their first call early one morning a couple of days before delivery. My wife is a elementary school teacher. She has a class full of kids she's trying to teach. She can't always just answer a random call in the middle of that. She made sure to go call them back in hardly no time and the same lady answered with an attitude because my wife missed the first call. When my wife asked her a question about our delivery the lady was really rude about it. Her tone was just ridiculous. I'll never deal with her again. So the bed arrives. The mattress itself doesn't look like the picture shown. It was a lot lower. The guy who set it up and put it all together was so nice. I'd buy from him before I'd ever buy anything from the lady in the store again. He was honest. He let us know that there was a stripped screw, and he told his supervisor, took a picture of it so they could get another part out to us quickly. He kept apologizing to us for having to wait so long without a bed, which wasn't his fault at all. Also, he told us with these "hybrid" box spring mattresses he's noticed they we may still want to get a foundation for underneath. He said it would rise up more in 24 hours from it being in a box, but you'll still probably want something underneath to help raise it up more and support it. The lady in the store never said anything about that, just they were "nice". So now we have to buy a foundation to put underneath so it can set up how the picture showed, and so we're not almost on the floor. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is for the guy who came and put it together. He was awesome and honest and informative. He gets all the credit and should get her commission pay as well. All I'd ask is if you do plan to use this store please do your own homework and research on the item(s) you're looking at. Don't put it in the staffs hands. Don't let them talk you into anything. They truly don't care. They're only concern is getting the sale. If you find an item take the time to do your homework on it. Cover yourself!

Staff is rude in this store and also from the delivery crew. Ashley Furnitures policy’s are no good and I knew as soon as I bought the furniture it was a mistake. I have waited weeks and weeks for the order to be ready for delivery, scheduled a day, was ready for the 3 hour time window they give you and they called me 2 hours ahead of schedule. Now they won’t deliver it for me and of course nobody would care so I’ll have to pick it up. Overall I knew that buying at a furniture store was a mistake and I just did it because I was tired of looking as soon as I started. I paid more for a table than I did for a couch haha. Don’t buy unless you have all day to spend waiting on furniture 6 weeks after you buy it.

I arrived with a few ideas from Ashley Furniture online but thankfully I came in the Staunton store to order my sofa. Brian showed me ones that I didn't see online and the one I purchased was on sale in the store. Thank you, Brian for showing me the options and helping me find the sofa I wanted.

Just to make others aware READ what you sign. Every. Single. Word. I was here in 2023 and “bought” a couch. As soon as I left I regretted it. I called the next morning as soon as they opened to cancel the order, it hadn’t even been more than 12 hours and they charged me a $800 restock fee. I reviewed the paperwork and on the one of 20 something spots I put my initials, it essentially stated as soon as you sign there’s no turning back, they keep 20% of the price of the product. Don’t even get me started on professionalism, the staff was awful. Extremely rude and manipulative. The boy who sold me the couch never even reached out to see what the problem was, never ever heard from him again. Instead I had to go through another woman, who argued with me and was sticking her finger in my face when I came in to cancel my order. The worst part for them - had they handled it better I really would’ve considered getting the couch still. It was the staff that made me rather loose 800 and run my credit for nothing rather than give them the 4k. Just a terrible experience overall. There were things I could’ve done differently as a consumer, but as someone who has worked in customer service, I couldn’t imagine treating someone the way I was treated here. I’m just getting around to leaving this review because I couldn’t even put into words how terrible this was. I have a 15 minute video of the woman arguing with me and just watched it for the first time since and realized again how bad it really was.

We are very excited to have it delivered to our home and really like the warranty offered! If you don't use your warranty during the time period, they will allow you to use the money you paid as a credit in the store to buy something new.

Extremely rude and irresponsible. We bought a pair of dresses, expensive ones, and we paid a lot of money for delivery. After 3 weeks, one was delivered damaged and one wasn't delivered. After I called them, they said we have to deal with their warehouse in north Carolina!!! and that they are not responsible!!! Well, we bought the dressed from *them*, so they need to be accountable with any issue. They were rude, unhelpful and uncountable. once they get your money they won't take any responsibility if you get your purchased damaged. The worse experience of buying furniture in my entire life.

Stopped by because we need a new couch for our home. When we entered the workers behind the desk did not acknowledge us at all. My wife and I continued to walk around and nobody would help us. Multiple employees made eye contact but would not get up from behind the deck. Eventually we decided to use the kiosk to see other options. Thankfully that was there. If you’re looking to make a big purchase I’d recommend going to somewhere else.

Sold my elderly disabled father a $2700 twin mattress for his adjustable bed. See pic. Does this mattress look like it's adjusting with the bed? Also paid a lot for delivery because we were told we couldn't pick it up ourselves. Found out that's not true. First time delivery scheduled, no show. Second crew were on time and very kind and polite. I wouldn't buy anything from people I don't trust.

Sales associates there are very friendly and knowledgeable about their products and willing to help out in any way they can. The manager was rude and hateful when wanting to edit an order that hadn't even been submitted yet. He acted as though it was a big deal, that it would be time-consuming and told us he would call us later to come back in. Even the associates there looked nervous over the tension from the manager. Fast forward to over a month and a half later, we finally got a call to go over our order. Needless to say we took our business next door and ate the $200 deposit from Ashley Furniture which I'd rather do than to ever deal with that manager again.

I was very pleased with the service snd quality of the mattress, adjustable bed frame, bedding and decor items I purchased at Ashley Furniture in Wytheville. Jessica Safewright was wonderful. She was very professional, patient and helpful in choosing just the right pieces to meet my needs. I would not hesitate to recommend this Ashley Furniture Wytheville as they have a great variety to choose from with price points to meet everyone’s needs. I also prefer to shop local whenever possible.

We walked in with an idea of what furniture we were wanting to purchase (after shopping on the Ashley website) and Brett D. greeted us at the door with a friendly hello and welcome. He introduced himself and He then allowed my husband and I to freely roamed the store and not feel pressured to buy. We talked with Brett and he answered all our questions. Showed us several options after we talked. He was super helpful and we will definitely be back when in the market for furniture.

I generally find furniture shopping really stressful and wasn't happy when mom wanted to get a couple things, but it was easy here! This is by far the worst company that I have ever had the displeasure of working with. I took my client there to get a bed and bed frame. Robin showed us one that was supposedly in stock and then surprise, it wasn't. Showed us another one that supposedly was in stock, and again, it wasn't. Finally he went to look at what he did have in stock and took us to the bed. My client picked it out and we got a bill for me to take back and get them a check. Took them the check later on that day and they couldn't find the mattress in the system. I had to sit there for almost an hour while they figured it out. Turns out the wrong number had been written on the paper, not only that but the math had been done wrong and she owed more money than we were told. Once that was handled I thought that my problems with this company were over, I was wrong. I called them to ask if they could remove the old mattress and throw it away. The lady that I spoke with at the front desk said that it was up to the delivery drivers. The day came and the driver called me, I asked him if he could dispose of the mattress. He stated that he could for $40.00. My client pays him the $40 and he takes the old mattress. They leave and I stay inside and finish up with my client. When I walk outside I notice that they have left the mattress outside her house and not taken it like we paid for them to do. I called the manager and the general manager, Marty, calls me. This woman is the rudest person that I've ever met. She talked over me the whole time and wouldn't listen to what I said. She said that she would not honor a "side deal" that was made and that she would "investigate." That was last week. I called for an update today and she, again, very rude and talked over me. She stated that the money would not be refunded because it was a "tip" given to the driver. I again tried to explain that I only made this deal due to her employee telling me that this was common practice. I am very disappointed in the customer service and I will not be bringing any future clients there and I will make sure my coworkers don't either. My client would like her $40 back for the job that wasn't done!

TL;DR: Don't order from Ashley unless you want to wait 6 months for your furniture and have it finally delivered outside the 4 hour window you're given, so you miss the delivery. THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE COMPANY AS A WHOLE, NOT THS SPECIFIC LOCATION. I will start off by saying, the staff at this location has always been as accommodating as possible and very professional. I have never had problems or run into rude staff at the staunton location and I am aware that what happened to me is out of their hands. However, I ordered about half a house worth of furniture in FEBRUARY and was told it would be a month and a half until delivery, maybe 3 months tops. After 3 months, they still didn't have everything. I finally went to the store and told them to send me what they had. It is now almost 6 months later and I still had not received my furniture. I went to the store to cancel the rest of my order because I was tired of not having a dining room table. Miraculously, the warehouse had my furniture. Delivery was set up during a 4 hour window. I work nights, so I stayed up until the end of the window. They didn't show up, they didn't call. So I went to sleep. They tried to deliver over an hour past the delivery window. So, I ended up having to go to work on 4 hours of sleep, for nothing, since I was sleeping after the delivery window and did not know they were coming. I called corporate and told them what happened and basically begged for an earlier window. I was told that I would get one as early as possible. Now it's being delivered on the 10th, during the SAME window. I am incredibly upset. With how much I paid for this furniture, I shouldn't have to go through all this trouble. This is the last time I will be ordering anything from Ashley Furniture and I will caution anyone who considers it themselves.

Bought a mattress from here and never received it so had to cancel the order. Still waiting on my money to be refunded and have gotten the run around for two weeks avoid this place at all costs.

Everyone is very nice. Love the amount of different dining room tables they had on the floor. The workers are so nice and there to help.

Purchased a bedroom grouping on Friday. Chose the group because it was "in stock" and could be delivered quickly. Had sales person check to MAKE SURE it was in the warehouse and ready for immediate delivery. Was told some one would call in a day or so to set up delivery date and time. Well....waited several days....no call. I called the warehouse and was told not all pieces were in stock. This person said she would have store manager call me to discuss what could be done. Again no call.....the next day I called the store in Staunton and ask why no one had called me back AND why I was told at time of purchase they pieces were ALL in stock. Again I was told someone would call me back because store must get "permission" to take a piece off the floor to make up for the missing piece. And yet again.....no call.. -------------------------------------------------- A week after initially purchasing the set I got to talk to a gentleman from the warehouse. He came through with the furniture. It was delivered on Tuesday March 30 at designated time in good shape. The driver told my husband that the furniture was there in the warehouse the entire time but was damaged. The furniture I got was just fine. No damage. All turned out well just delay in delivery. Thank you to the warehouse manager for his follow through.

I had my screaming toddler only 2 with me and they helped occupy my little boy so I could sign the paper they are so awesome, very friendly, very nice. Our salesman was great. However, we had nothing but issues with the warehouse, store manager, and Ashley Furniture it’s self. Our bedroom furniture came damaged, we took all the steps we were told to take and they didn’t want to fix it. Finally a technician was sent out after many no responses from the store. They told us the wrong date that the technician should come. The store manager was pretty non existent through the whole process. She said she would get back to us which she never did. A store manager from another city finally had to handle the situation. Our furniture is yet still damaged and wearing very quickly. Very disappointed in the store, the customer experience we received, and the quality of our furniture. Would not recommend to anyone.

Recently purchased my furniture from Ashley. Great customer service in the store from Robin. My only area of issue with Ashley is that their return policy is awful. They do not technically have one and work “one a case by case basis” which is an easy way for them to not give you your money. I hate that the positive store experience was tarnished by this poor policy. Luckily, I like my furniture so it all worked out!

We were given plenty of space and time to examine furniture, and when we had questions, Jesse was knowledgeable, honest, and concise. When it was time to purchase furniture, Jesse thoroughly explained the financing process. He also carefully researched the shipping and ordering options for us, being sure to compare store prices to prices on-line in order to be most cost-efficient. At this point, Ashley will certainly be our go-to store in the future. Highly recommended.

We had an awesome experience this past Memorial Day weekend at the Staunton location. Their Store Manager Maggie greeted us the moment we walked in— she let us be while we browsed the store but was always ready to help us when we had questions. While we waited to check-out the other employees were incredibly friendly, wrote down suggestions on places to stop for lunch since we didn’t live in the area, and even invited us to join their lunch that was provided for them. We definitely recommend this location and will be back for any of our future furniture needs.

Recently my husband and I went to the Ashley Homestore in Staunton Va., it was our first time shopping there, we were greeted and assisted by Jesse Blackwell, he was very knowledgeable and courteous. Thank you very much Jesse for your assistance and conversation, it made our shopping at Ashley Homestore very pleasurable!

Sales experience was nice, they let us shop around on our own until were ready instead of following us through the while store. They also went our of their way to help us get what we wanted. However it's been a month and none of our furniture has arrived and we still haven't received a call of when it will be coming.

We went in knowing what we wanted and what style we were looking for. Our salesmen took us right to the furniture we wanted to see in person. The whole process was pretty quick and the only downside is that prices online are cheaper than they are in the store and we wanted to pay in cash plus see and feel the fabric before we bought it.

They were friendly and very helpful. They were willing to work with us and figure something out so that we could leave happy.

My experience in the store was very good but when it came time for delivery they sent me the wrong adjustable bed frame then when I went back to the store that evening the bed frame came it was a it was a very big hassle and I was told that I ordered something different and I had to pay more money when I know what my salesman told me I ordered and we put it down on paper and that's the only reason why I bought it at the price I bought it it's been nothing but a hassle cents and I still as of the 2nd of March have not received the correct adjustable bed frame not a very good experience in the store after that mistake

I was having problems with a recliner I purchased from the Staunton store that is now discontinued. With the help with Robin's recommendation I was able to choose another recliner. Beginning of the process I felt I needed help. Tina from the Roanoke store and Robin quickly made it painless. Because of them helping me I chose to purchase a Tempurpedic bed.

Two years ago, we made a purchase from Ashley Furniture in Staunton and was completely satisfied. Over the last couple months we noticed a defect in our beauty rest mattress. We went to the store and they were able to assist us in getting this replaced. The process for getting the replacement was a little slow, but nevertheless Maggie and her staff was able to assist me with the replacement and robin helped us pick out a new mattress.

I purchased a couch from here about 2 years ago. I paid $2100 total on it including warranty. This couch has been cheep and basically falling apart. I have filed a warranty claim over a month ago and I still have not heard from anyone. I will not do business here again.

Wow, this place should just close. I got a bedding set, theater set and dine in set from here. All of this purchased on Black Friday, well the mirror wasn't delivered til 2 months later, the theater set looked like was the one on the floor and one the chairs came broken. I hace been trying to get the manager to fix this because they said that they we're going to send a new chair but here we are 5 months later and neither the store or corporation manager will do nothing about it as sample to return a phone call so I'll return the dine set and get my money back. It's too bad you have to give them one star to review because you guys don't even deserve that. I'll never go back to your store, this is the worse customer service you can get and like the ladys said there's nothing we can do after you purchase and that you have to call customer care department but this people won't even return a phone call. They just know how to talked your ear off to get your money.

I will NEVER deal with this place again. The ladies in financing are wonderful. However, the sales staff are completely messed up. They lied just so we would make the deal. 1) We were told we would get underbed storage, as the display showed and I asked. However when it came, we were told it wasn't part of the bed. If it wasn't for Barbara Reedy, this issue would never be resolved but she is wonderful! 2) It took 5 weeks to get the furniture. Completely unacceptable ! 3) It was damaged when it came! So, still waiting

Total frauds and terrible customer service. Last winter(2016) we bought Signature King Sleigh Storage bed and a mattress. We were very impressed with the quality of the bed/mattress in store and purchased it. Week later during the delivery, they damaged the bed (scuffs), mattress (rip on the bottom) and also 2 picture frames (wedding gift). When I contacted the store, they promised a refund for damage and repair to the mattress which never happened. Never called back. I'd a call almost every month to follow up on it. They kept transferring my call between the store (Staunton), Warehouse (Harrisonburg) and Customer Service. In July, I lost my cool and shouted at them. After which, they starting throwing absolute rubbish at me that, I never contacted them until June 2017; customer service said it was problem at store i need to resolve with them, store said it was "as is" store item nothing can be done when i have the invoice which clearly stated new item with no mention about the damages. I've finally gathered from my phone service provider record of all the call i made to them and with all the evidence I've decided to file a complaint with Consumer Protection. This was the most unprofessional customer service I ever experienced. Never recommending this store or rather any ashley store to anyone.

Managers are very rude and inconsiderate of their own employees, and how one manager is constantly on the phone even if you have a question, she's rude and incompetent.

People are warm and friendly
