Today, I made a purchase at Ashley Furniture, and it was a fantastic experience. Frid helped me first, and then Shamila took over. We purchased furniture from your store in Dulles Crossing, Sterling Virginia a month ago, and at the time of purchase, the sales associate assured us that our items would be delivered by March 4th. We specifically confirmed this delivery date because we were hosting a housewarming on March 7th, and timely delivery was crucial. However, when we followed up on March 4th, we were informed by customer service that our items were on backorder. At no point were we notified in advance about this delay. To make matters worse, when we requested a refund due to this failure on your part, we were told that we could only cancel the order for store credit—which we reluctantly accepted. Despite the inconvenience, we traveled an hour to your store to reselect items, only to find out that the available choices were also on backorder! Additionally, we were not allowed to select items from your website, further limiting our options. It is completely unacceptable that after failing to fulfill our original order, Ashley is refusing to refund our money and restricting our ability to reselect from the full inventory. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, misleading, and unfair. Your company has failed to uphold its commitment to timely delivery, and now you are effectively holding our money hostage without providing a solution that works for us. We demand a full refund immediately, as this entire situation is the result of Ashley Store’s failure to deliver as promised. If this issue is not resolved promptly, we will have no choice but to escalate our complaint to consumer protection agencies.
