I want to make a final update to my recliner return. Ashley returned my recliner and extended warranty. This is what I had wanted, but I also wanted to get a different recliner that better fit my needs. I have found that recliner at Ashley and hope to purchase it today. Ashley came thru in the end and did what should have been done from the beginning. I credit them for that. I would have thought they would have been more proactive in making sure that I purchased my replacement from Ashley, but they seem almost disinterested in selling the replacement. I am going to the Ashley store today in hopes of completing the exchange by purchaseing the recliner. **************************************** I am updating my review. I just had the original recliner removed. I was told to go to the store yesterday to choose a new recliner. Unfortunately we went to the store and were ignored for about 45 minutes. I would like to purchase the new recliner, but I need to know that the accountvwas properly credited in order to purchase the new chair. I want to thank the Customer Service Department for stepping up and helping me. I am a 68 year-old disabled senior. I purchased an Ashley "Ludden" manual "rocker recliner" from the Ashley online store. I had assumed the recliner would be like most recliners I had used in the past, but I was wrong. While the recliner looks great, it is very unstable and rocks back and forth with a feather touch. It is nearly impossible for me to get out of the chair as moves about while attempting to climb out. It only has 2 positions, rocking and fully reclined. It just wasnt a safe chair for me. I reieved the chair past weekend (April 7) and called about returning to reselect. I did not want a refund, I just wanted a better, non rocking recliner and willing to pay for it. Nobody I spoke with wanted to help. Even though this chair was new and undamaged they would not exchage it. I drove to the Ashley store and was told that online purchases, after 72 hours are not returnable or exchangeable AND that Grand Furniture has nothing to do with Ashley online store (even though all the paperwork online says "property Grand Furniture"). I did not feel my request was out of line. The only other option I had was write a review on Google No sooner than 1 hour after submitting the review I received a call from Ashley/Grand Furniture offereng to pickup the recliner so I could choose another. This was the correct line of action for this case. I was not looking for a refund, just to exchage a recliner less than 1 week old. I am now waiting for the recliner to be picked up tomorrow (Friday April 19) and a phone call to let me know who I should see about choosing a new chair (I know which recliner I want, I just want the paperwork to be done correctly). So far I am very happy with Ashley's customer service and will update this review upon receiving my new recliner)

Ashley Furniture is less than desirable and my rating is to be determined. March 24th we visited Ashley Furniture looking for a chaise sofa. We found and liked the Dorsten. The sales associate Addison P was the associate to help us. We discussed the options for the chaise sofa and we inquired if it came as a sleeper like the queen sofa. Addison told us it was an option and we went with it. Thought that was a great option. We go to the service desk to finalize the sale and I notice on the invoice it didn't say chaise. I questioned it to the woman behind the desk and she had us verify it with another associate. I asked " is this the chaise? Because we want the chaise and it doesn't say anywhere on here that it's a chaise"? The associate that looked at the item said "yes" now I don't work at Ashley and I believed that the sales people know what they are doing. We opted to pick up our item from the warehouse. Husband brought it home March 28th and unboxed. It was wrong. We believed we were ordering what we were told was an option, a sleeper chaise sofa. Instead it was a queen sofa sleeper. I called our sales person Addison and explained what happened. He said and made me believe that he was going to see if what we intended to get was in stock or have to order and in addition that we could schedule for it to be delivered for free and swap out the item we came home with. 2 weeks have passed and I heard nothing. I call the warehouse to get an update. There is no record of a mistake or anything. The young lady Ms Irving was so nice when I called. She took all the notes we discussed. She was going to look into the matter and call me back but I did not get a call. I called back Tuesday, now April 9th and talked to someone who then transfered me to the store to talk to the manager. I talked to someone who eventually put me on hold and then got transfered to some voicemail. return call. I call back again and talk to Randy who answered within the customer service department. To put it simply Randy couldn't understand why Addison would ever promise a free delivery and blamed us for picking up and bringing home an item that we knew was wrong. No!!!! We did not know. We thought it was a chaise sleeper sofa that Addison supposedly sold us! So now to correct the problem we either have to pay a delivery fee to get the item we want or haul the couch back and pick it up. There is a 20% restocking fee if I go that route! It's ridiculous! We are being penalized either way for something that was not our fault and I feel Ashley Furniture is not trying at all to have a customer leave happy! Thus far, the experience is less than desirable. Ashley Furnitire seems to me good for telling lies , taking your money and when it's wrong you are charged to have it fixed. It's not right! As of now I would not recommend shopping this company!
