⸻ November 20, 2025 Today, I visited the Ashley Outlet, and upon entering, I was immediately approached by an employee named Chad, who questioned me about what I was looking for. I informed him of what I needed and mentioned that I preferred to browse on my own. As I walked through the store, he continued to follow me and was overly persistent—bordering on rude—in insisting that I look at the screen to find what I wanted. His behavior made me feel uncomfortable, harassed, and unfairly judged. I felt as though I was being treated as if I were not a serious customer or unable to make a purchase. I have always loved Ashley Furniture; however, I want to bring attention to the unprofessional, discriminatory, and prejudicial behavior I experienced from Chad during my visit.

Sean was awesome, he really listened to what we were looking for and made our decision really easy and comfortable. Love the varietynof the store and the different options they provide as well as matching price to the website.

The elderly secretary had me standing there at the office while she played games on her computer smiling before she asked if she could help me. She told me that I would have to go across the highway to get an approval from a manager. I was thinking why do I have to do that when I am the customer. I see salesmen and workers go back and forth to Ashley Outlet in Virginia Beach, VA. The older lady was rude to me. My former salesmen failed to explain a layaway requirements and just brushed me off. I was told to just cancel it while the company loses money. Another salesmen heard and tried to help me which he did, but I don't think the first salesman I had should get my business. Now, I am now considering to take my business to Value City Furniture, and come back to get what I want with the new salesman.

We just moved to the area & needed new living room furniture. Ethan met us at the door and helped us find something that checked all our boxes. Great experience!

We bought a couch from Ashley Furniture that arrived defective. When we contacted them, instead of taking responsibility, they insisted we bring the broken couch back to their warehouse ourselves. No company should expect customers to handle or pay for returning defective merchandise. Their lack of accountability and poor customer service made this a very frustrating experience. I would strongly caution anyone thinking about buying from Ashley Furniture.

I purchased a couch from Ashley Furniture and it was delivered defective. When I contacted them to resolve the issue, instead of arranging pickup or replacement, they told me I had to bring the defective couch back to their warehouse at my own expense. This is extremely unfair and unprofessional — the product arrived damaged, yet they expect the customer to handle and pay for the return. I did not receive the product as promised, and their customer service has been unhelpful in resolving the situation. Very disappointing experience and I would not recommend buying from Ashley Furniture. We opened dispute on the credit company as well

Chad Hanson helped us find our perfect couch and mattress. He took the time to make sure we tried every couch and mattress and found exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend going to see him. We will be back in the future!

What a wonderful friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable store. Demeca Thomas was absolutely amazing.

I should have read the reviews before going to this store. My sales person, Wayne and customer service rep Priscilla were wonderful. I paid out of pocket for my furniture only to get a headache due to delivery issues. Don’t waste your time if you are thinking of purchasing here. It’s not worth your time. They tell you in detail that you will get a call and then they lie about it. Managers are horrible and unprofessional. My first and last time buying anything from Ashley furniture. Going back to Costco!

Highly disappointed in upper management with Ashley’s a Ms Meladee Barry because I purchased a door chest cabinet and 2 stools. Bought my down payment in within 2 days and everything I was promised was not what happened. The contract was incorrect the items that I was advised would be in were no longer available and now I was looking at the end of the month or the beginning of the next. And upon speaking to Ms Barry whom was not friendly at all advised that she would only take $100 off the total purchase or $200 off a future purchase and I feel like with everything that has gone on why would I want to even do a future purchase especially because I was barely even able to get the current purchase done properly and then when asked why could the $200 off not be offered on my current purchase due to all the inconveniences and basically was told only $100 or $200 on future very unfriendly and unfortunate your spending your money with a company to not be appreciated and needless to say I did business with their other store Grand to different locations and had no issues and to be treated this way at Ashley’s very unbecoming. I definitely will not do business with Ashley’s Furniture again.

We loved shopping at Ashley’s our sales lady Diane was amazing!! She took her time and listened to our home design vision. Super easy experience and we’d shop at Ashley’s again.

UPDATE: Ashley has corrected the issue by assembling and delivering new chairs. Of the six dining room chairs we purchased, four of them (pending more, as we haven't opened the final box) are completely unusable due to manufacturing errors (i.e. uneven legs, holes that aren't drilled through).

They were professional and helped me step by step through the whole process.

Sheila and August were amazing and took care of all my needs.

I went into the store a second time to place an order. Went through the paperwork. Sent to the store office. Waited another hour while that lady made sure the first lady did my paperwork properly, before I signed the contract. Gave me a number of delivery service incase they dont contact me. Was to be delivered that Thursday because they had everything in the warehouse. Thursday came & went without contact. The following Monday I contacted them. Sadly, they needed another pay stub. But, NO one ever contacted me informing me of this. How does a person go through 2 people doing their paperwork yet, supposedly not enough information is submitted. And a contract signed.. No call to request this to get my furniture. Had I not reached out I'd still be waiting. When I try to talk to them about this the young lady was short and just rude about this as if I'm to blame for this . They had 2 people doing the contract if more was needed shouldn't they have requested it while I was there. Not after I reached out wondering why my furniture wasn't delivered or atleast called & informed of the hold up.. This has truly been a bad experience.

The experience was great ! Karl did such a wonderful job with helping get the best deals and pick the right furniture for our space and quick deliver . Experience is 10/10!

I love my sectional. However I've been trying to return the chaise for 2 months and no one is calling me back. I get transferred from sales to delivery. I will say specific employees have been excellent Priscilla and Maria. Maybe there is a process problem.

Nothing but a horrendous experience here. After over a month, I'm finally receiving my furniture. Because of poor handling and incompetence in the finance department, my order was never fully processed. It also seemed as if my purchases that were over 7,000 dollars was not appreciated. The remaining of my new furniture to fill my home will not be from your company or affiliated company's. The customer service was a hit or a miss."Kam Brown" needs to have a class in professionalism. His vulgar language and ill-mannered responses were very Repulsive and sickening.

What can I say!!! Costumer service was on point! Marie and Mia did everything to help me out to find what I want!!! I am so happy!!!!

We went in shopping for a kitchen table,we went to the back where the mattresses where. We where greated by Michael. He went into great detail about the one we were interested in, he knew what he was talking about. We said we would think about it and come back. Well we did first thing in the morning went right back. While we were there I asked about a kitchen table I had seen online,he was able to find that as well. Needless to say we went for a kitchen table and left with a mattress and kitchen table. I would 100% go back and deal with michael every day.

I went looking for a sectional and decided on a sleeper sofa with a chaise! Pricing was exceptional compared to other stores I visited. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering any questions and offering suggestions! Amaya was a pleasure to work with, she made sure my experience and transaction went flawlessly! I’ll definitely be back in the future!

Power recliners bought from them couple years back and end tables recently. Found out today the extended warranty does not cover anything, despite what it says in writing we got a call back on our ticket and they will not honor anything. So that was a great way for them to steal $500. The end tables had brackets attached via wood glue and a piss poor job at that and they fell right off just hand putting the screws in. I called them back within an hour of picking up the end tables for a refund, or so I thought. Ashley Furniture is of less quality than Ikea and they will NOT stand behind their product and will refuse a refund. They expect a ticket submitted with pictures just like the couches to prove a item I picked up an hour prior fell apart. Thankfully a call to the bank will get my money back for the end tables, sadly I'm screwed on the couches.

DELIVERY PROTOCOL MISLEADING! We came to Ashley 06/23 knowing we will find what we’re looking for—and we did. We then proceed with the transaction and the whole process was quick since we didn’t finance and the staff were nice and friendly. The item we ordered was available readily at the warehouse and the salesperson lady said it can be delivered by friday 06/28. She told us that WE WILL GET A CALL from the delivery people 2 days prior to the delivery date, but we never did. She also said she will be in contact with us all the way through to follow up and did not. I called the delivery people friday 06/28 myself since I have not heard from them—come to find out I should be initiating the phone call to the delivery department myself? If only I would have known, I should have called them myself asap and would have gotten it delivered at the expected date. Lesson learned: never expect them to do the INITIAL contact w/ their own delivery department about your order. You do that yourself. It was our first time buying from the Ashley Outlet and being in the woods not knowing actual protocol regarding delivery was very inconvenient.

My son and I spent a day looking at furniture at multiple stores. Simeon at the VB BLVD location is a pleasure to work with. We did not feel rushed or pressured to make a decision and he understood that we were just looking for the day. We returned a few days later to make a purchase. Sim was assisting another customer, so Wes assisted us when we were ready to purchased but gave the credit to Sim. Check out with Tanya for payment was easy. I highly recommend the Ashley Outlet for your furniture needs.

Meant to write this yesterday, but I just wanted to say Adam was such a kind soul! He was so helpful and full of joy. Although I didn't buy any furniture or decor, going into this store and talking to Adam was the highlight of my day!

I tried almost every couch in the Outlet and the store across the street with Al who was patient and helpful. When I finally settled on one, it was not in stock and would not be delivered for close to 4 weeks. I wound up not making a purchase that evening. The store manager was going to look up some similar styles, in stock, the next day. Unfortunately everything he looked up was way over the length requirement I had. Al did follow up with me which was so sweet, but I was not able to make a purchase with him.

Wes helped us find what we needed quickly, got us through the credit process efficiently and hooked us up with a great deal.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Wes and Carl helped us save a lot of pieces of furniture that we bought—highly recommended.

This company has caused me and my spouse 1 and half months of constant frustration and useless trips just to get our mattress delivered, which never happened. They do not actually deliver, but contract out to another company, which means that they don't actually know what is being sent out. We had ordered a king mattress, but were sent a queen mattress twice, each time with the delivery folks insisting it was a king, and refusing to take them back. After several weeks of phone calls to "customer service" and several trips down to their store at customer services insistence, getting a refund for a product which they would not deliver was like pulling teeth. They also would not refund the delivery fee, because they claim the queen was delivered, even though it wasn't what was ordered. Our experience has been with Ashley outlet that they don't do refunds for their mistakes, they are actually several companies that don't communicate with each other, and that it is our fault that they delivered the wrong mattress twice, with us sleeping on the couch until we eventually went somewhere else. Do not go to this store, there are many other, much more reputable furniture stores on the same street which will actually provide the service you pay for, as we had to schedule our own delivery each time, and had to push back on the company trying to get us to accept a queen mattress, when we paid for a king.

In and out with exactly what we were looking for with great service. I recommend you ask for Carl.

Chad Hanson at the VaBeach store was exceptional. We had visited every furniture store in the area and most sales people were more interested in making a sale vs understanding the challenges of our space. Chad was patient and really helped find a solution. Also very pleasant.

Good Morning Once again I phoned Ashley Furniture this morning, just to be told they still have not received the sofa to complete my order. Again this purchase was done in March. If I was not pleased with my choice I would gladly go to the competition.

Karl took care of us from the moment we walked in the door. We received excellent service.

Drew and Rosa were very helpful! Couldn't have been better.

Dustin and Megan were very helpful in getting us a good deal after Addison duped us into putting 100 dollars down for a sofa sleeper that we wouldn't be able to get delivered for a month and a half. He told us that max would be 7-10 days of delivery and so we came back a week later to pay for the rest of the sofa and then we're told that we can't get it for a month and a half. Also we were disappointed in the ability of the store to have any sofa sleepers in stock, they showed us 10-15 styles on the screen that they wouldn't be able to have delivered for weeks which doesn't make sense. Other than those things, Dustin and Megan were fantastic in helping us get a good deal for a sofa sleeper they actually had in stock.

The entire experience of my recent purchase exceeded expectations. From the moment I walked through the door and was pleasantly introduced to Ben, to delivery of my living room furniture, has been a pleasure. I already plan to return for future furniture purchases.

YALL. I didn't know about this until we came in but on Wednesday (its either every Wednesday or once a month, I'd call and check) but everything is 50% off. Khalil was so helpful and he got us some great deals and he was so friendly. We ended up getting alot of stuff for crazy cheap. I'm so happy with it and so excited to get our new furniture!
