VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE! I had high hopes when shopping at Ashley Furniture in Waynesboro, but the entire process was frustrating. The customer service was unhelpful and borderline dismissive. Delivery was delayed multiple times with no clear communication, and when the furniture finally arrived, it was either damaged or missing parts. Trying to get a resolution has been a nightmare—no one returns calls or takes accountability. I regret shopping here and won’t be coming back.

First of all as soon as you walk through the door you have people hunting you down . And then they slowly linger behind you . We tried out several pieces of furniture, sat in it for a little it was super comfy , once it was delivered it doesn’t seem like the same thing we sat on , the couch is pretty firm and not at all comfortable to lay on. When you recline back in it , it doesn’t stay reclined it just tries to go back down . The man we worked with was all nice and wanting to help said he would contact us to check in with us , here we are 2 months later and not a word from him , so he obviously was only worried about making a sale . Which he obviously needed more than helping to ensure everything was good. I’ll never purchase furniture from here again . It’s the worst furniture yet and doesn’t seem like anything we sat on in the store .

Very disappointed with how this purchase has turned out. We ordered a couch, king bed frame, box spring, dresser, and nightstands from this location. The buying process was smooth and initially promising — we were told everything would be delivered within 2–4 weeks. After 4 weeks, we received everything except the box spring, and the bed frame and dresser arrived damaged. This left us with a king mattress and no proper foundation, forcing us to sleep on the mattress on the floor, with no clear time frame for when the box spring would arrive. It’s now been 3 additional weeks. The box spring was supposed to be delivered a few days ago, but our delivery stop was skipped. When we called, we were told it could be delivered the following Saturday — but instead of the king box spring we needed, they delivered a twin foundation! We are still waiting for the replacement for the damaged furniture as well. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

The store manager, Will, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable from the second we walked through the door. He did not pressure us in a typical sales environment but rather took time to understand our needs. It’s clear he puts his customers first and is dedicated to finding the “right” fit for them.

We worked with Will (William Norman) to try to find the perfect couch for an old house in the basement that has grandfathered in steep steps and tight corners which are a real pain. We also have people trying to use this couch that are oddly tall and like to relax in certain ways, which made it nearly impossible to find something that worked at Ashley and multiple other furniture companies. Will was really great to work with and never pressured us. He listened carefully and helped research other options that may be available that weren’t on the showroom floor. We thought we found the perfect option, but it didn’t fit by a half an inch and we had to start all over. Will and I probably exchanged close to 40 emails finding the next best option with some real out of the box thinking needed. We ended up by doing a special order of modular, armless chairs and linked 3 of them together, which is super atypical! It’s working great in the space and we’re so grateful that Will hung in there with us with a really challenging space to find a solution within our budget. Honestly, we have been waiting and researching for this furniture option for over two years!

In a previous review I gave them 1 star. I deleted the review. It was about a new couch that was damaged when delivered, and they wanted to repair it. There was no timeframe on when the part was coming in. The store manager has since reached out and is ordering me a new couch. I may adjust my review again depending on my getting the new couch.

Very marginal customer service. They over promised on delivery and then when that caused problems on the customers end, and they had the chance to treat the customer fair, to be concerned about the issues - they did not. Actually, some of their staff people (after they had the money) acted as if the customer did not matter.

Update (4/6/25): Ashley reached out to offer a partial refund, which prompted me to increase the rating by one star. While I appreciated getting some of my money back, my overall experience with the couches remains mediocre. Initially, they seemed great, but after just three months, one side started creaking excessively—something I wouldn’t expect from furniture costing over $2,000. Though the refund helped, the quality issues are still disappointing. Here is a summary of the original review: I purchased two couches from this store and faced continuous issues. The first set arrived damaged despite paying for "white glove delivery." The recliner controllers were broken, one couch had a bent frame, and both were poorly transported. After multiple delays and an upgrade, the replacement couches also came with scuffs, loose threads, and other signs of improper handling. Despite reaching out to the store, I received no response. Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially for the price.

I bought a lovely Signature recliner and loveseat back in July from Lisa Wallace and it was delivered within 2 weeks. It is so comfortable ! I am in the process of getting a Queen size bed and foundation. I am a little disappointed with the delivery going at least 2 weeks outside of the 4-6 week estimated delivery time quoted to me when I bought it on August 29th.

Online it is advertised that you can do financing for 60 months with no interest, but only if you go into the store. So I did that. Then I was told that this store doesn't participate in that promotion because "it costs us too much money" Frankly, no customer cares about what it costs the corporation. We want what is advertised, or at least a clear indication with a valid explanation as to why you choose not to offer this promotion. Noah was nice, the manager could have done better and made the sale with the advertised promotion.

My husband and I came by to check out a couch and loveseat which he'd seen at another Ashley location. Our plan was to see if I also liked it, then purchase it here closer to home. We were also going to check out some dining tables to see if we could just get all the furniture we needed for a new house in one place, since we have twin toddlers and simplicity is better. I'm a medically retired Army veteran and use a service dog which was professionally trained by a reputable, ADI-accredited organization. He's clean, well behaved, and has never misbehaved in public in his 8 years of service. He roomed in with me at the hospital when my twins were born, even, if you want a demonstration of the legitimacy of his behavior and training. At this location, a clerk met us at the door to tell us no dogs were allowed, so we couldn't come in. We explained he was a service dog and she was required by federal law to let us in. She remained blocking the door and repeated herself without even acknowledging that it was federal law. My husband, who is used to advocating for me, opened the other door and ushered me in to check out the sofa. Normally I'd have left right away, but again- twin toddlers, and we drove half an hour to get here. We wanted to buy the couch and loveseat and be done with it. The couch was pretty close to the front. However, the clerk got really passive aggressive and started saying, "If you say so" while acting like we were violent and she was scared. To be clear, we were nowhere near touching her and hadn't even raised our voices. I jad my toddlers with me, I wasn't going to be yelling. I tried out the couch (mind you, I didn't bring my service dog close to the couch or even on the rug in front of it). It was so uncomfortable, though, especially when the clerk obviously picked up the vibe from our conversation that we were there to buy and suddenly got helpful. We decided to take the loss and just leave. This isn't a case of someone just not knowing the law. This was a case of someone being rude and unwilling to listen, then being super passive aggressive. That couch was fine, but I'm now more willing to find another living room set with twins underfoot than deal with that.

I could not be more pleased with the care and attention given to me at this store. I am delighted my purchase.

This store is the biggest joke and their furniture is GARBAGE! We bought a bed frame that broke in less than two months (center support broke) and when we called asking for replacement parts or essentially for the store to make things right they said they would send out parts within two weeks. Two weeks go by with no parts showing up so we contact the warehouse as instructed and was told we’d have to wait until the beginning of July. Waited and still nothing, so we called and requested a refund as it shouldn’t take a month to send out replacement parts let alone having to sleep on a bed that we had to rig up just so it wouldn’t break further (which it did anyways.) mind you the first time it broke was when I climbed into bed at almost midnight at about 37 weeks pregnant. The second time it broke was with dad climbing into bed with our newborn in his arms. Cheaply made garbage, awful customer service, do not shop here! I would also like to point out that MARTY was the original saleswoman to help us and she left reviews for herself not only at this store but at 7 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. BAD BAD BUSINESS. We will never shop here again. First two photos are from the second break, third photo is the first time it broke. One of the supports (pretty small for a kind frame) split in half and another had bent the screw it was attached with.

Brett was wonderful in helping our family buy a new sofa today. We recently stayed at a beach house that had a particular sofa we fell in love with and we figured out it was an Ashley Furniture piece. We took a gamble to see if we could find it at our local Ashley store. Although it wasn’t on the floor of the Waynesboro store, Brett said he could probably identify it by a photo and, sure enough, he did! He told us which store to go to look at it again in person, gave us the measurements so we could determine if it would fit in our living room, contacted the other store to let them know we would be coming to look, and helped with our purchase. Brett is very friendly, very knowledgeable and I highly recommend working with him!

About five or six weeks ago I bought a table, four chairs and a bench for close to $1,300. I came in shortly after they opened. Selected the furniture. I then paid for it and told them I would be back To pick it up they close they said they closed at 7 I came back at 6. I not only had to remove all the decor but also had to carry an remove from show room floor with no help. An now I am still waiting for my bench which I paid for in full almost a month an a half ago anyone have thoughts on that one

Excellent service! Came looking for a chair and ended up with a whole living room! Marty was superb!

Worst experience of my life. Ordered a dresser. Scheduled to be delivered on 9/14, no show and no phone call to let me know they weren’t coming. Called the distribution center on 9/15 and they scheduled the dresser to be delivered the next day, or so they said. Called back on 9/16 when there was another no show and was told that no delivery had been scheduled. Worst customer service I have witnessed. I would not order from them. Plus they charge a $200 fee for the delivery and can’t even provide a delivery service correctly.

Ashley's is a great furniture store. We have helped some of their customers with their moving needs and we have noticed that this furniture holds up from move to move. Thank you Ashley's for the great quality of your merchandise!!

Manager was very helpful on the phone and in the store. Bought theater furniture which arrived quickly. The set up was done by delivery guys and was quick and well done.

I made a big mistake of buying furnitures from here. I will be very careful in future and will do my best to spread the word among acquaintances that they not only NOT deliver on time, but also provide no updates about the delivery delay unless the buyer calls them. I called them more than once before the scheduled delivery date and the warehouse confirmed that the delivery will happen on time. On the day of delivery we kept getting texts saying it is coming and that never happened until the end of the day! No update whatsoever!.I have not faced this level of inefficiency in a long time. I regret buying anything from them and I promise this is my last buy. I think I will be fooled again as I am still expecting the delivery!

Buying furniture from this store was the worst experience I had ever had at the furniture store. Margaret was great helping us pick out furniture for our new house. THEN everything went wrong. Furniture was delivered broken or not on the truck. We ordered a rug which was taking forever to get. I called Margaret and she said I could cancel. Which I did. Then Marty says I have to take it and pay for it because it was special ordered which is a lie. They call the warehouse to see if they had the larger rug we need NOT special order. Now almost two months it’s not in yet. Marty said it will be here this week and I had to take it. What kind of service is that. Will never buy from Ashley furniture again. The whole experience has been terrible!

My wife and I have been looking for a sectional or large sofa to help my father in law after he had knee replacement surgery. He wouldn't be able to visit without a better place to rest and recover. Margaret at the Waynesboro Ashley store was lovely, helping us check out the various types of couches, giving us a lot of information about how long they will last, features, pricing, measurements, and even sourcing of where the parts and labor come from. It took a while for us to find the right piece for us, but we ended up choosing an awesome couch from Ashley thanks to the time and patience of Margaret. We had a wonderful time shopping here!

I ordered two bedroom suites. The mirror took 8 months to get here and it was broken. I waited 3 months and stopped in to inquire when my media chest would arrive. They had no record of it. Then told me they remembered me buying the one off the floor and I took it home. I convinced them to refund my money. Hour later they called and said they found it in the warehouse in Roanoke. They would knock off $300. So I putting the legs on it and one of the holes has a gold metal ball jammed in it. There should be 2 holes like the others have. This is very heavy expensive furniture and they need to do better.

Ashley in Waynesboro is the best! We had some difficulty with our bed that we previously got at Ashley, and they were quick to help us find a solution. Marty was very friendly and helped us promptly. They have a great selection of furniture as well, we couldn’t recommend Ashley more!

My husband and I went to the Waynesboro, Va store today and worked with Marty Maupin, Store Manager. I can’t even begin to state how blessed we were with her due diligence and efforts made to get us all of the items we needed and have them in stock. All of their staff was so polite and courteous and we were very impressed with this story being ran by all very knowledgeable and completely competent women. Everyone but especially Marty made our buying experience a great pleasure and I would highly recommend her to all that I know especially after getting such terrible service and reception at the Harrisonburg, Va location. She made our day worth the extra drive. Love this lady and her staffs sincere help and assistance with all of our needs. If no stars was an option that's what I would put. The furniture is nice but the customer service and run around is awful. It's a shame that hard working people get pushed around like they are liars when the products arrives damaged.

Excellent experience. Just moving here to the area, we need to get new furniture for our new house and Marty did an awesome job and gave us valuable input on some furniture pieces we were looking at as will as different designs and what would fit and not fit. With her interior designer experience we we’re able to get the best for our money. Very impressed with the layout of the store and the helpfulness of all the employees. My husband and I purchased a new home in October. In December we stopped by Ashley's in Waynesboro to look at furniture (at that time, we had visited three other furniture stores looking at prices and options). Margaret was the sales lady who helped us. We discussed what we wanted, found that item on the floor- discussed multiple times which way we wanted our chase to sit, and purchased several pieces for our basement area. Before we left, I noticed the coloring was not correct, so we had that fixed. We knew at the time we were going to need to wait a while for our furniture. Fast forward to March, our items are delivered and the chase is not on the correct side of the couch. I immediately called Margaret to resolve the problem. She asked for pictures. She told me it looked fine the way it was and I should be happy. I told her no, that is not what I was told would be coming and not what I put my money on. Long story short (and many calls to other Ashley establishments), Margaret agreed to a even trade for the furniture I wanted. I was told it would be delivered early June. By June 15th, I still had not heard, I called, they booked me for the following week. Today (June 26th), almost 8 months after purchasing the furniture, my correct couch arrived. I wanted to thank the delivery gentlemen because they were the true hero's here! Both times they were polite and helpful. They deserve the recognition and appreciation! Due my experience with Margaret (who is the manager of Waynesboro...) I will likely not be ordering furniture from Ashley's ever again. Sorry for the long post. Who knew ordering furniture was going to be such an ordeal.

Absolute junk!! We bought a sofa in June of 2019. Within 6 months the bottom board connecting the front and the back feet broke. Luckily I had the 5 year insurance but it took months to get it fixed. In February of this year we noticed something was wrong with the back of the sofa. After repeatedly calling the insurance company they finally sent a technician out who determined it couldn't be fixed. I was given the option of half my money back or complete replacement. I choose the replacement and after waiting 10 weeks with repeatedly trying to get an eta on the replacement I was told it would be another 12 weeks. Stay away from Ashley and Montage Furniture Services!!!

Just received the best service after price shopping other stores. The service that Marty gave to my husband and I was amazing! I will most definitely back to work with her for more furniture in the future. We cannot wait to sleep on our new split king adjustable mattress set!

Margaret and the front staff was amazing.... we had to wait September to January for furniture due to Covid and there was some delivery issues beyond their control. They went over and beyond to accommodate. We are still waiting on a few pieces of furniture but once again beyond their control. They made our experience much better and we are very thankful! Very friendly and pleasant.

I was met with a rude employee. Didn’t seem to take interest in selling the items in her store. Margret was short and snippy when asked questions about products. I was very unhappy and left upset. I returned later to find a few other employees present who met me at the door with enthusiasm. Product knowledge was up to par. Very please with my second visit. Which is why I gave them three stars.

Order placed. “It will be here next week” and a scheduled date and a promised call on arrival. Never a call. Call in two weeks later. “So sorry, next week.” Repeat. 6 weeks now and no product despite paying 100% up front and not once have they called us as promised. Call back for a refund and THAT will take 1-2 weeks and they’ll call when it’s approved. I doubt I will ever get my money back. BEWARE.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I completely understand this pandemic has caused some delay, however I have waited far past the time frame, this is about 3 months waiting!!! They do not even give a courtesy call to even update you on the progress of your order. With that being said, it shows me that is just okay to take a customers money and not have no regard to being professional, or being understanding after the fact!!!! Not only did I wait this long for the furniture, but I sit here as we speak waiting for it to be delivered!!! Time frame was from 10:30-1:30, here we are at almost 3:00. Upon calling the Waynesboro store and speaking with Margarett, she had no inclination of what to do, no idea where the delivery was let alone whom was the delivery driver!!! As far as the manager he could care less, the only person that was of some help was the receptionist Kaitlynn, thank you Kaitlynn!! Not worth even one star!!!!! Bad bad business!!!

Barbara was in her second day, and was very helpful. I knew what I wanted, and the size, she took me right to what I was looking for, have been looking for this furniture for 18 months. Thank you Barbara for listening to what I was saying and not trying to sell me something I didn't want

This store is absolutely beautiful, they have some nice furniture. The downside was the way the salesman treated me. He was very judgmental and unkind. I would look into getting new salesmen.
